"Set during the 1920s, “The Lost City Of Z” centers on the legendary British explorer Percy Fawcett (Hunnam), who ventured into the Amazon jungle in search of a fabled civilization and never returned. Robert Pattinson co-stars as his fellow explorer Henry Costin, and Sienna Miller plays his his wife Nina Fawcett.
Described as an action-adventure, in Gray’s hand this new sales trailer is somewhat reminiscent of “Apocalypse Now,” and given the filmmaker is an avowed Francis Ford Coppola fan, you’ll probably see more of that influence in the movie itself (as well as that of David Lean, whom Gray said was an major inspiration on the film) via the cinematography of the great Darius Khondji (who shot “The Immigrant”)."The Film Stage
"The Immigrant director can now rest a bit easier, as the highly anticipated Lost City of Z wrapped last year and is expected to debut on the festival circuit, perhaps at Cannes but more likely in the fall. Starring Charlie Hunnam, Sienna Miller, Robert Pattinson, and Tom Holland, the story follows Percy Fawcett, a conscripted soldier and born explorer who disappeared in the 1920s while searching for a mythical city in the Amazon jungles of Brazil that he believed he discovered on a prior expedition.SlashFilm
For our first glimpse at the film, an epic three-minute sales trailer has arrived, which shows off the story and Darius Khondji‘s ravishing cinematography."
"From the looks of this trailer, there seems to be an Apocalypse Now influence on the film, and it the visuals are gorgeous, shot by James Gray’s director of photography on The Immigrant, Darius Khondji."Complex
"The film stars Pattinson as British Army Corporal Henry Costin and Tom Holland as Percy's son Jack Fawcett. The Wrap
Brad Pitt was originally supposed to star in the film that chronicles the mysterious journey which has left historians and writers dumbfounded as to what ultimately became of Fawcett."
