Cosmopolis on another top 10 list and Robert Pattinson's Eric Packer appears in mashup video for 2012 films

Cosmopolis made the cut on Canada's Top 10 list of 2012 films! The Playlist provided a list of the country's best films, decided by "a panel of industry types all cast their votes for Canada's Top Ten", listed alphabetically:
Cosmopolis, David Cronenberg (Entertainment One Films)
The End of Time, Peter Mettler (Mongrel Media, National Film Board)
Goon, Michael Dowse (Alliance Films)
Laurence Anyways, Xavier Dolan (Alliance Films)
Midnight's Children, Deepa Mehta (Mongrel Media)
My Awkward Sexual Adventure, Sean Garrity (Phase 4 Films)
Rebelle, Kim Nguyen (Mongrel Media)
Still, Michael McGowan (Mongrel Media)
Stories We Tell, Sarah Polley (Mongrel Media, NFB)
The World Before Her, Nisha Pahuja
The film has gotten noticed in other industry circles, such as Cahiers Du Cinema and Sight & Sound. The recognition is pretty awesome for Rob since he IS Cosmopolis, through and through. TIFF_Net announced the titles on twitter and also featured a great write-up about the film HERE. With the DVD/Blu-ray out in several countries and its release in the US on Jan. 1st, there have been a few reviews popping up. Men continue to recognize Rob's magnetic turn and marvel over his terrific performance. Makes you want to pull the "proud mama Steph" face.

To top off the Cosmopolis love day, Rob was featured in this 2012 movie mashup video for Cosmopolis! He pops up at :36 and has one of the best lines from the film laced over.

What Did Richard Gere Think Of Robert Pattinson When He Met Him At The Arbitrage Luncheon On Friday Night?

EOnline reveal that Richard Gere wasn't fully aware of how big a star Robert Pattinson was when he met him at the Arbitrage Luncheon on Friday night but Richards wife was! (There's a surprise)

Find out what Richard thought of Rob in EOnline's report below......

As everyone knows by now, Robert Pattinson met Richard Gere on Friday when he attended a luncheon in honor of the silver-haired actor's awards buzzy film, Arbitrage, at Osteria Mozza in Los Angeles.

But what you may not know is that Gere didn't exactly realize how major the Twilight star was.

"He was a perfectly nice guy, but I had no idea," Gere told me at the Governors Awards. "But I was getting calls from my wife going, 'What are you doing with him? He's so cute, but what are you doing with him?'"

So Gere's better half, model-actress Carey Lowell, is a Twi-hard?!

"My wife is aware of these things," Gere laughed. "I don't know that she's a fan." (Kate: sounds like she's a fan to me!)

Congrats to Robert Pattinson and co! Breaking Dawn Part 2 the most successful Twilight film!

Congrats to Robert Pattinson and co! Breaking Dawn Part 2 the most successful Twilight film!

HOLY SMOKES! With a powerful overseas box office, Breaking Dawn Part 2 has surpassed all previous Twilight films to become the most successful!

PhotobucketExcerpts from The Wrap:
The vamps and vampires of “Twilight: Breaking Dawn 2- Part 2” have sunk their fangs into the domestic and global box office, and won’t let go. The franchise finale took in $17.4 million to claim its third consecutive weekend victory in North America, but it has been even more impressive overseas.

...

"Breaking Dawn 2" has now taken in $254.6 overall in the U.S., which is just behind the comparable three-week total of 2009's “New Moon” ($259 million), but ahead of “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn 1," both of which had $251 million after three weeks. However “Breaking Dawn 2” is taking a much bigger bite of the overseas box office. It added $48.9 million this weekend and has grossed $447 million abroad to become the franchise’s biggest foreign earner, passing the $430 million rung up last year by “Breaking Dawn 1.”

With a total of $702 million, "Breaking Dawn 2" will pass "New Moon" ($709 million) to become the franchise's biggest money earner ever at the worldwide box office.

“This will be the biggest “Twilight” movie ever at the box office and the foreign grosses will be the driving force,"  BoxOffice.com editor-in-chief Phil Contrino told TheWrap. “These franchise films build and build overseas, and then they explode.”

Lionsgate’s head of domestic distribution Richie Fay said he isn’t surprised by the foreign success.

“You could see it coming,” he told TheWrap. “The last one, ‘Breaking Dawn 1,’ did 60 percent of its business overseas and we were confident we could build on that.” "Breaking Dawn 2" opened internationally at the same time as it did in North America, and Fay said the overseas marketing strategy played up the international aspects of the film.

The only wide opener set for next weekend in the U.S. is FilmDistrict’s “Playing for Keeps,” so "Breaking Dawn 2" could stay on top until Dec. 14, when Warner Bros. rolls out its blockbuster “The Hobbit.”
