Robert Pattinson is among one of Hollywood's young royalty In Cannes for the film festival. There are some new quotes from Rob in the article from USA Today excerpted below
Shia LaBeouf, Robert Pattinson, Zac Efron, Kristen Stewart.
The young guns are gunning for the Cannes Film Festival 2012 -- and they are demanding respect.
This year's festival slate features a veritable Who's Who in Young Hollywood. Each has flexed some serious box office muscle in their young careers, now they are hoping to show some acting chops. Each is in competition with their respective films.
...........
Before he finishes off the Twilight series this year, Pattinson too is still looking for a meaty dramatic role which might come true in Cosmopolis. The film features some racy scenes in the back of Pattinson's banker character's limousine (where most of the movie takes place).
He has sex with Juliette Binoche and even has a prostate exam while trying to seduce another woman -- this is a David Cronenberg film after all.
But not the Rob Pattinson we all know.
"I don't like people thinking that they know me," says Pattinson. "You do all you can to surprise people. And hopefully some people will find that interesting."
His Twilight co-star, and longtime girlfriend, Kristen Stewart will also show a new side in the Walter Salles' film On the Road. Pattinson has seen the movie and calls it "amazing."
........
After Cannes 2012, we're going to see many of these stars in a different light.

Robert Pattinson On The Cover Of "Vanity Fair" (Italy) & Preview Of Interview (Translated)
Excerpt from the interview
This is translated using Google Translate so you know the drill!
In Cosmopolis - premiering at Cannes - Pattinson keeps the pallor that made girls all over the world fall in love with him, the romantic air of Edward, however, has disappeared. (...)
Do you have any idea why David Cronenberg chose you?
"Honestly, no. But I have never asked: I am just glad he did. "(...)
In Cosmopolis the sex scenes are quite explicit: has it proved embarrassing?.
"More than anything I was nervous for the actresses. When a man gets undressed he stupid, but he's basically having fun. I think for a woman is something different, more problematic. "
In real life, are you more sweet or passionate?
"Passionate, I hope." (...)
One of your best friends, the British actor Tom Sturridge, is expecting a child by Sienna Miller. Do you want to become a father?
"Sure. I don't know just yet, but definitely yes. "
Have you already made plans with Kristen?
"Not yet. We have nothing planned. "
Do you feel ready to go live with her?
"(He hums, to mask the embarrassment) I'm ready for anything."

UPDATE: One of our readers, Christine, sent in the Russian translation of the Cosmopolis review in June issue of Phychologies below :) Thanks Christine!
Cronenberg’s latest films from the point of view of thought and influence could not compare with his “Crash” “Fly” and “Dead Zone” but in Cosmopolis the “action Psychologist” shows his previous might. In the screen adaptation of the novel by Don DeLillo-a post modernist novelist (or American umberto eco) he creates the image of modern world- the world with every technological comfort but which is full of violence. Protesting against universal functionality/purposefulness is a young billionaire-never leaving Manhattan, in just 24 hours he loses all his material and social assets and acquires a real “self”. And wonderful actor -Pattinson, whose talent showed even playing a young vampire, creates the image of a whole generation of baby boom children-young people feeling they should be billionaires just by the right of birth in the environment of “Golden Billion”. Cosmopolis- , expressive, gloomy/impenetrable without illusions -it mostly reminds us of Edvard Munch’s painting "The Scream” and you should agree that not often do we feel like comparing modern films with real pieces of art.Christine also notes that the ranking of 4 stars is the maximum and the translation says this level equaled "brilliant". :))))

She’s talking about Cosmopolis, a film which is highly expected. It’s from David Cronenberg. The film is awesome and it’s impossible to explain the book’s storyline. It’s just art. She can say exactly what it’s about.Cosmopolis was also reviewed in a Russian publication and we have an excerpt from that as well as the ranking...4 stars!
She finally said that it’s set in New York and we have future and past moments. It’s about a golden boy’s fall out and he’s foreseeing his own murder. It’s very confusing. The trailer is so gorgeous she absolutely wanted to talk about it. There’s a lot of stars in it and there’s the gorgeous and charming Robert Pattinson. He’s from the Twilight Saga.
What’s surprising is the rating of the film because there’s a lot of sex in it.
Wonderful actor Pattinson creates an image of the entire generation…Cosmopolis is impenetrable and expressive.I believe the source will translate the rest tomorrow but thought the excerpt was great to share now. Cup and ball DuRob may be yours to own in less than 3 months!
Bel Ami has a possible DVD release date in the US. DVD Talks forum slates the film to be out on DVD August 7th.
The UK already has a release date of July 23rd. You can pre-order on amazon now.
There is no US pre-order info available on Amazon just yet but we're keeping watch. Hopefully you guys are still supporting the film on VOD but Magnolia Pictures has steadily been adding theaters to their June 8th theatrical release date. I finally see theaters that are more local for me. :))
Click HERE to keep checking in with Bel Ami theaters. I've now seen Bel Ami in an excessive amount but I can't wait to see it on the big screen as well. :)

Robert Pattinson Fans Will Love “Cosmopolis" - David Cronenberg
It says on this article that Metro.us spoke to David at Cannes but the Questions/Answers are similar to ones we've heard before, except for the last one (which brought a mile to my face)
From Cannes: "Cosmopolis" director talks Robert Pattinson
Cronenberg spoke to Metro before the film's premiere on May 25.
How did you go about adapting Don Lillo’s novel?
DC: “I wrote the script in six days. The first three days I re-transcribed the entire dialogue. The following three I added descriptions for each scene. The monologues going on in Packer’s mind I made into visuals. I am incredibly excited about this film and even more so Pattinson’s performance.” (Kate: So are we David, so are we)
Choosing to Robert Pattinson in the lead role may have come as a bit of a shock for some of your fans…
DC: “Rob is a wonderful actor and I think he will surprise more than a few. Because he’s young, handsome and the star of the “Twilight Saga”, some people have come to the unfair conclusion that he is a bad actor. I am well aware of that. But I can assure you that he is incredible and a very hard worker. I can’t wait to work with him again. In fact, I even told him I would love to cast him alongside Viggo Mortensen in the future.” (Kate: Can I say again how much I LOVE David?)
Have any celebrities contacted you directly to ask if they could work with you?
DC: “Most of the time they tell their agent to tell my agent they want to work with me. Sometimes I ask to work with an actor without knowing if they have ever seen one of my films. That was the case with Rob. (Kate: LOVE this) It just so happened he was very familiar with some of my work. On set (for “Cosmopolis”) I remember he and Juliette Binoche getting into deep conversations about obscure French films. He’s a film fanatic.”
Was hiring him a way of drawing the attention of people that weren’t necessarily ‘David Cronenberg’ fans?
DC: “The moment we confirmed Rob had been cast in “Cosmopolis” everyone started talking about it. I can only hope the public and the critics will like it. On the other hand, those only watching it because they are ‘Twihards’ risk being disappointed. But fans of Rob will love “Cosmopolis.” Once you love an actor, you should be open to appreciating all of their work.”
(Kate: Oh believe me we love him and we are very open to everything he chooses to do)
