New Moon DVD Extras Details

In an interview with Collider Chris Weitz revealed what we can expect on the "New Moon" DVD. I'm already excited!!!

Collider: What can we expect on the New Moon DVD?

Chris Weitz: On the DVD there will be some deleted scenes, there will be a commentary with me and I think Kristen, Rob and Taylor at the same time, and some making of and behind the scenes type stuff.

My big question is how many minutes of deleted scenes?

Weitz: I think it’s around twenty. (Kate: SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE)

Is there really going to be that many minutes?

Weitz: Yeah, but sometimes it’s just showing a whole scene with bits that have been cut out. There is not like twenty minutes of stuff thrown out. It’s like here is the fully expanded scene.

Here’s my question….the Twilight fans are obsessed with seeing stuff they haven’t seen before. So how many minutes do you think of footage that’s not in the theater would be on the DVD/Blu-ray?

Weitz: I’d say a good ten minutes of groovy stuff they haven’t seen. (Kate: Chris I've said it before and I'll say it again, I LOVE YOU (not as much as Rob but nearly as much)

So why did you cut it?

Weitz: The running time of the film and the cadence of how I wanted the film to play.

Robert Pattinson Boxes in His Time Off

Taylor mentions Robert Pattinson a few times in his IESB interview. These are just the parts where he talks about Rob, to read the full interview go here

Q: Who else are you close to?

Taylor: I wouldn’t be able to pick one. If I were to start, I’d end up listing the whole cast. I do spend a lot of time with Kristen because all my scenes are involved with her, so Kristen and I are very close. I guess I’m close with Rob, too, ’cause we spend a lot of time together as well. But, the great thing about this series is that the whole entire cast is so close, and it would be a nightmare if we weren’t. It would be impossible to make this series because the characters are so tight. So, we’re really thankful that we all get along so well.

Q: Who would win in a fight between Jacob and Edward? And what about between you and Rob?

Taylor: Oh, man. I don’t know about between me and Rob. He actually does a lot of boxing, in his time off.(Kate: *faints) It might be a good match-up. We were actually discussing who would win in a fight between Jacob and Edward, while we were on set. There’s a scene outside Bella’s house where Edward grabs Jacob’s shoulder and Jacob doesn’t take that, so takes his arm and rips it off, and that moment Jacob would transform into a wolf.

We were having that discussion and it got really deep. We were like, “If Jacob were to poof into a wolf right now, what would happen? Who would win?” Our discussion points were that wolves are usually with their pack, so if Jacob is without his pack, is he going to be weaker? Honestly, I don’t know. That discussion is still up in the air. We should probably get Stephenie Meyer on the line and ask her.

Q: With Rob and Kristen being a bit older than you, have they given you any advice about enjoying the moment?

Taylor: No. I think most of our talking has pretty much stayed on a business level, and that's the great thing with our relationship. All of us are completely open and not afraid. We don't hold anything back. We talk about our characters together, and have meetings to discuss our characters. It's really, really helpful, but we haven't gotten to life talks yet.

Robert Pattinson Interview with GOLD Magazine (France)

Twilight Poison brings us yet another translation. This interview was done during Comic Con by Gold Magazine. I am posting parts with Robert Pattinson, you can read Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart's answers and see the rest of the scans at Twilight Poison . Enjoy!

In the book, even though you leave Bella, you are very present in her thoughts. It is difficult to represent it on the screen? How did you manage?
Rob: In the book, she hears the voice of Edward, but we used another method in the film: she has hallucinations, fleeting appearances of Edward. Would have been a bit corny to do it with only my voice.
Kristen: Everything is in the suggestion. It’s the memory she has of him, not necessarily what he really is.

Edward is much less present in this film than in the previous … What did you do to ensure that the fans are not too disappointed?
Kristen: No, no. You’re still going to see him a lot.
Rob: They will not be disappointed. But if Edward has to be left a little behind, it’s so people can miss him. The film is precisely about the longing, the emptyness and the complete darkness because Edward’s gone.

With a new director at the helm of this sequel, did you feel like working on very different a film from the first?
Rob: It wasn’t just he change of director that made things very different this time. There’s also the fact that this time we knew the beast, we knew a little bit more what we were dealing with.
In this film, I have a more of a secondary role. I started three weeks after the start of filming and the first scenes I shot were many scenes of hallucinations, in which I did not say more than two words. So it was probably one of the most relaxing jobs I ever had! Chris has a very calming presence, and I feel so good with him. To have no stress from the job for three months was great. It was Taylor who had to deal with the pressure! (laughs).

Scotsman Magazine Interview with Robert Pattinson

Interview: Actor Robert Pattinson

By James Mottram

As I arrive for my interview with Robert Pattinson, the air is awash with hormones. Hordes of autograph book-brandishing adolescents have gathered on the street, desperate to catch a glimpse of the British-born star. We are in Cannes, where Pattinson has jetted in to promote New Moon, the sequel to last year's teen vampire sensation Twilight.
After pushing my way through the crowds, I'm ushered down some steps to a beachside restaurant where Pattinson is just finishing off another interview. The moment he leaves his chair hysteria breaks out as the pubescent pack looking down from street level spy their heartthrob.

Even by the standards of Pattinson's last year, which has seen him go from a relative unknown to a massive star, this is something else. "It's embarrassing, doing interviews," he confides when he sits down in another chair out of view and the cries subside. "I've never really done this before – people screaming in the background. Except at a premiere." You'd think he'd be used to the attention by now. Even before Twilight was released, taking nearly 400 million in cinemas around the world, girls were leaving notes under the windscreen wipers of his car. By the time he toured a series of shopping malls to promote the film, it had morphed into something akin to Beatlemania as girls fainted, screamed and asked him to bite them. Not even Brad Pitt gets that kind of attention.

Admittedly, this sort of adulation was always on the cards. Stephenie Meyer's quartet of Twilight books has already proved a literary sensation to rival JK Rowling's Harry Potter franchise. The most recent book, Breaking Dawn, sold a staggering 1.3 million copies on its first day of publication. And with the novels primarily aimed at teenage girls, it's Pattinson – who plays Edward Cullen, the impossibly handsome vampire from a family of neck-biters – who attracts most of the fans. His co-star Kristen Stewart – who plays Bella Swan, the mortal Edward falls for – must be relieved. "You do tend to start getting a little bit paranoid about stuff," Pattinson confesses, shrinking further into his chair, "looking around when you're walking down the street, in case you get mobbed by teenage girls!"

Hitfix Interview with Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson on 'New Moon' and the harsh, faster-paced 'Eclipse'

When this writer first met Robert Pattinson, he was a relatively obscure British actor who'd received a tiny bit of notoriety from appearing in a "Harry Potter" flick. It was April, 2008 and as we talked on the set of this tiny flick titled "Twilight" during a night shoot in the middle of a small Oregon town, he considered a scenario where he might not continue acting. Perhaps he'd focus on the music side of career, perhaps not. Needless to say, what a difference a year and a half makes.

Arguably up there with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as one of the most popular celebrities in the world, it's no understatement to say the "Twilight" franchise has completely changed Pattinson's life forever. We spoke again during the "New Moon" press day on Saturday and while it wasn't the 45 minutes I'd been granted when he was "up and coming" not that long ago, it was clear that Pattinson was still as polite, genial and honest as he was back then.

The 23-year-old joked about how he may just keep working as much as possible because the seclusion of shooting allows him a somewhat "normal life" and went in depth about the differences between working with his "Twilight," "New Moon" and "Eclipse" directors. He also made some particularly intriguing comments about the last "Twilight" installment in particular.
