Well now Suki totally looks the way you should look in her position. I'll just sit over here, not holding Rob, and being jealous.

The Batman Talks!

It's not like we needed anymore verification... but Rob talking about playing Batman is the best! Is it 2021 yet?

Robert Pattinson couldn’t stop Googling himself. In mid-May, the 33-year-old actor found himself obsessively refreshing his phone on a flight from Los Angeles to the south of France. Pattinson was headed to the Cannes Film Festival for the world premiere of his new movie, “The Lighthouse,” just days before he was set to start shooting the next Christopher Nolan film, “Tenet.” But someone had tipped off the press about another top-secret project, one the entire world was now reporting on: Pattinson had been cast as the next Batman.

The stories were premature — Pattinson hadn’t even auditioned yet — and he was horrified that all the chatter would spook Warner Bros. executives into not hiring him. “When that thing leaked, I was f—ing furious,” Pattinson recalls on a recent rainy afternoon in London. “Everyone was so upset. Everyone was panicking from my team. I sort of thought that had blown up the whole thing.”

Robert Pattinson with his "deliciously wicked French accent" will "razzle-dazzle" us in The King

The King has premiered at the Venice Film Festival and oh boy is it exciting! First up, a new still of Rob looking very Robearrr-ish.

David Michรดd shared more about casting Rob and the role he's playing during the press conference. We're going to have to wait an hour to see our guy but it seems like the wait will worth it.

Excerpt from The Hollywood Reporter, Venice: 'The King' Director Says He Cast Robert Pattinson to Add "Razzle-Dazzle":
Although all actors are in top form, at an early morning press screening in Venice, Pattinson stole the show from the moment he appeared onscreen. With his outlandish garb and foppish accent, Pattinson drew laughter and applause in his role as the Dauphin of France, serving as the perfect foe to Chalamet’s earnest Henry V.

"I just had a feeling he would make it fun," said Michod. "I needed that. He is a supporting character. He doesn’t appear in the movie until an hour in. It was very, very important to me that when he did appear it was with razzle-dazzle."

Michod said that he and Edgerton did an enormous amount of research for the project. "And then we made a whole bunch of stuff up, too,” he said. “The upshot is I sit here now and I kind of honestly can’t remember what’s real, what’s made up and what’s from Shakespeare.”

He continued: "I think he was a bit of a dandy. I think he was quite a bit younger than Rob. Apparently he was hugely fat. Apparently it was historically true that Hal as king offered to fight him one-on-one to settle the score, probably knowing that his offer would be refused."

Michod, who cast Pattinson in his second film The Rover, praised the actor for his career decisions. "I loved working with him. I loved how inventive he was. I loved how hungry he was to make bold choices," said Michod. "I just had this feeling that he would love to sink his teeth into this character because it wasn’t like anything he’d done before."
Excerpt from Vulture, The King Director Cast Robert Pattinson and His Wig for ‘Razzle-Dazzle’:
Writer-director David Michรดd delivers entertaining history with The King, his new Netflix movie about Henry V (Timothรฉe Chalamet) and his ascendancy from partying teenager to warrior sovereign. At its Venice Film Festival premiere on Monday, Henry and his sparring partners snared some hearty gasps and laughs — particularly France’s Dauphin, an arrogant and ridiculous prince who provides a steady stream of comedy. A bewigged Robert Pattinson plays the preening, over-dressed Gallic dandy. “I like speaking English,” he sneers in character. “It is a simple, ugly language.”
“I just had a feeling he [Pattinson] would make it fun,” Michรดd told the standing-room only Sala Perla 2 press conference. “I needed that. He is a supporting character. He doesn’t appear in the movie until an hour in. It was very, very important to me that when he did appear it was with razzle-dazzle.”
Here's a part of the press conference on video with David chatting about Rob and contains some of the quotes above.

The folks who saw the film are also singing Rob's praises:

The King will be in US theaters Oct. 11th and on Netflix Nov. 1st.

From Daily Mail:
Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse were spotted enjoying a romantic stroll along the Southbank in London on Wednesday.
The couple stepped out in casual ensembles as they kept a low profile, having been shopping in the English capital.
Clutching a shopping bag, Robert - who is set to play Batman in 2021 - wore a green hoodie and black shorts.
He also wore casual black trainers, a black baseball cap and shades.
A source who saw them told E! at the time: 'They were very close and cuddled and kissed many times. Robert was very affectionate to her and had his arm around her the whole way and Suki reciprocated by holding his hand and kissing it.'
