Robert Pattinson's Wallet - well, not quite!

Robert Pattinson's wallet... well, kind of! I can't believe they're selling this - yes, selling it... for $1,499. WHAT!?

Will someone pay that I wonder? Wouldn't it be better going to charity? Am I thinking too much about this? Yeah... probably...

Robert Pattinson - Post-Movie Coffee - Remember Me

This is a great discussion provoking article about Remember Me - once you've read the article please head on over to the source HERE and check out the comments... they're just as interesting. And of course we love to read your comments here too :-)

Post-Movie Coffee - Remember Me

Welcome to the Post-Movie Coffee. Much like a discuss post, this occasional series will tackle thoughts our Cinematical writers are mulling over about recent releases. You know -- those plot points and discussion topics you want to dig into with a coffee after a screening.

The idea for this series has been swimming around in my head for a while, but it never insisted on hitting the written page until now. Last week, Robert Pattinson's Remember Me hit the screen. Before its release, public concern focused on how Pattinson would deal with a mainstream starring role that didn't have him grimacing every time the tasty-smelling Bella Swan walked by. Once people saw the film and its controversial ending, however, the dialogue flipped. In what has to be one of the lowest scores for a decent movie, the film has suffered a 26% Fresh rating at Rotten Tomatoes, with critiques flinging words like ridiculous, manipulative, overwrought, shamelessly exploitative, insignificant, trivializing, vile, cheap, and unforgivable.

And for the first time in a very long time, I completely disagree with popular critical opinion.

(Seeing that this is a discussion of the film and its ending, here is your obvious SPOILER WARNING.)

Robert Pattinson in the Italian Vanity Fair Magazine - Scans and Translation

Between the shooting of the Twilight movies, he dismissed the clothes and fangs of the vampire to play the part of a student who has to deal with the struggles of a 20 year old (“A kind of anger I know quite well”) and love. And, about girls, he has a way to recognize the good ones.

If humankind is divided between the 'I wish but I can't' party and the 'I could but I don't want to' party, I propose Robert Pattinson as worldwide candidate of the second party. 23 years old, vampire in spite of himself, unwilling sexy icon, the guy with a suitcase (he has 3 suitcases actually, like the years he has been spending living in hotels) looks at the world through a porthole and thinks 'Duh' (Babs: this is a quote from an Italian song, it doesn't make much sense in English...). Then he plays a guitar chord, drinks a beer, crunches a Twix and goes on.

He admits that he has never had the sacred fire of art, but he was a good looking guy and the acting school of the Barnes Theatre Company was a good place to meet girls. One thing leads to another and you find yourself on the set of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Then you happen to find out that they're auditioning for Twilight and you record a tape with a friend, but you think it's so bad that you don't send it in. But, since luck can be much more stubborn than you, you get a call and the leading role.
