Interview: Actor Robert Pattinson
By James Mottram
As I arrive for my interview with Robert Pattinson, the air is awash with hormones. Hordes of autograph book-brandishing adolescents have gathered on the street, desperate to catch a glimpse of the British-born star. We are in Cannes, where Pattinson has jetted in to promote New Moon, the sequel to last year's teen vampire sensation Twilight.
After pushing my way through the crowds, I'm ushered down some steps to a beachside restaurant where Pattinson is just finishing off another interview. The moment he leaves his chair hysteria breaks out as the pubescent pack looking down from street level spy their heartthrob.
Even by the standards of Pattinson's last year, which has seen him go from a relative unknown to a massive star, this is something else. "It's embarrassing, doing interviews," he confides when he sits down in another chair out of view and the cries subside. "I've never really done this before – people screaming in the background. Except at a premiere." You'd think he'd be used to the attention by now. Even before Twilight was released, taking nearly 400 million in cinemas around the world, girls were leaving notes under the windscreen wipers of his car. By the time he toured a series of shopping malls to promote the film, it had morphed into something akin to Beatlemania as girls fainted, screamed and asked him to bite them. Not even Brad Pitt gets that kind of attention.
Admittedly, this sort of adulation was always on the cards. Stephenie Meyer's quartet of Twilight books has already proved a literary sensation to rival JK Rowling's Harry Potter franchise. The most recent book, Breaking Dawn, sold a staggering 1.3 million copies on its first day of publication. And with the novels primarily aimed at teenage girls, it's Pattinson – who plays Edward Cullen, the impossibly handsome vampire from a family of neck-biters – who attracts most of the fans. His co-star Kristen Stewart – who plays Bella Swan, the mortal Edward falls for – must be relieved. "You do tend to start getting a little bit paranoid about stuff," Pattinson confesses, shrinking further into his chair, "looking around when you're walking down the street, in case you get mobbed by teenage girls!"

Hitfix Interview with Robert Pattinson
Robert Pattinson on 'New Moon' and the harsh, faster-paced 'Eclipse'
When this writer first met Robert Pattinson, he was a relatively obscure British actor who'd received a tiny bit of notoriety from appearing in a "Harry Potter" flick. It was April, 2008 and as we talked on the set of this tiny flick titled "Twilight" during a night shoot in the middle of a small Oregon town, he considered a scenario where he might not continue acting. Perhaps he'd focus on the music side of career, perhaps not. Needless to say, what a difference a year and a half makes.
Arguably up there with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as one of the most popular celebrities in the world, it's no understatement to say the "Twilight" franchise has completely changed Pattinson's life forever. We spoke again during the "New Moon" press day on Saturday and while it wasn't the 45 minutes I'd been granted when he was "up and coming" not that long ago, it was clear that Pattinson was still as polite, genial and honest as he was back then.
The 23-year-old joked about how he may just keep working as much as possible because the seclusion of shooting allows him a somewhat "normal life" and went in depth about the differences between working with his "Twilight," "New Moon" and "Eclipse" directors. He also made some particularly intriguing comments about the last "Twilight" installment in particular.

Rob in the elevator:
Is Jimmy Kimmel More of an Edward or Jacob Kinda Guy?
I adore me some Jimmy Kimmel, he gives a fresh neutral take on the Edward vs Jacob issue.
Ever feel like you're alone in your undying adoration of all things Twilight?
Probably not, but if it's any consolation funnyman Jimmy Kimmel is right there with you.
Last Friday, the late-night host welcomed the New Moon crew to his show, and encountered a dilemma each of us faces all too often: Robert Pattinson or Taylor Lautner? Or better yet, Edward or Jacob?
"They're very good looking people," he told E! News at the International Myeloma Foundation charity event. "They're vampires—one of them is a werewolf. You don't see that too much."
So, which is it? Kimmel's not picking sides (smart move!). "I think it's racist to pick between vampires and werewolves," the star teased. "So, I'll say that I love all monsters equally."
"Monsters" seems a bit strong. We prefer to call them "sexy beasts."

Which Muscle Did Robert Pattinson's Pull? Tune in to Jimmy Kimmel! :)
Twilight spoof from Jimmy Kimmel's Guillermo:
From GossipCop.com :
*** Kimmel asked whether they were ever injured doing any stunts. Stewart said she only tripped once during a rehearsal, then jokingly said she’d almost died from it.

*** Pattinson said he “pulled an ass muscle,” with Stewart recalling it had been a “groin muscle.” Pattinson agreed it was a muscle that must have gone all the way around and that it was painful. (Gozde: Rob is not gonna let that "groin" muscle pull from Twilight go is he? It must have really hurt (his pride:))
*** They also spoke about having a difficult time going out without fans and photographers following them.
*** That said, every now and then, they told Kimmel, they’ll “want to go out for a scream” – which means stepping outside their hotel (or even sticking their heads out of a window) for an instant, uplifting fan reaction.
The full interview will air on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on November 20.

Should Robert Pattinson Get a Twitter Account?
I think NO he definitely should not...
Hello my name is Gozde, I'm addicted to Twitter and it's evil! And you know the 1 time he tweeted all hell broke loose...(here and here)
PopEater doesn't agree. Robert Pattinson is #1 on their "Ten Celebs Who Need to Join Twitter" List:
1. Robert Pattinson - We're well aware that Rob is completely against joining Twitter, but we want to know what he and Kristen Stewart really talk about. "@KStewart Did we get married last night? Just checking .. 3 tabloids think so. Ha!" or "Did you see those fans?! When did we get famous?" And of course, he'd probably tweet about his love life. "Girls only love Edward. :( "
What do YOU think?
Thanks to RobsButtonsBabe for making the manip and to Spunk Ransom for the tip :)

Jackson Rathbone talks about Robert Pattinson's Absence in New Moon
Jackson Rathbone talks about Robert Pattinson's Absence in New Moon to J-14:
J-14: So New Moon has a totally different focus than Twilight?
Jackson: It’s one of those things where you think losing Robert Pattinson for a lot of the movie would kind of be like a down turn but you basically get another, equally inspired, and equally riveting male star in Jacob Black. It’s one of those things where Bella is devastated by the departure of her vampire love but you know she gets her spirit rekindled by her growing friendship and her growing love in her and Jacob.
