Status updates for Robert Pattinson's Mission: Blacklist! Production still a go for summer and a new director needed?

Embankment Films has updated their Mission: Blacklist page!


The updates are:

• Late Summer 2013 for the production date. That matches the report from Eric Maddox for the film to start in August. 
• Delivery date is moved to Summer 2014. Exactly how many films will Rob have at festivals next year?? LOL If dates hold steady, he could have as many as four films going to fall festivals. That's only speculation but 2014 seems like it'll be the Year of Festivals for PromoRob. Who's complainin'? :))
• Jean Stephane-Sauvaire's name has been removed as director. Hmmmmmm. As long as Rob is still there, I'm still there. We'll see what happens and keep you posted.

Casting news for Robert Pattinson's Maps To The Stars! Mia Wasikowska, Olivia Williams and Evan Bird

This film is moving along quite nicely!



The Hollywood Reporter announced earlier today the addition of 3 cast members to Maps To The Stars.



Olivia Williams (Anna Karenina, The Sixth Sense, An Education) will play Cristina, the manipulative mother of Evan Bird (The Killing), Benjie, the troubled, drug-addicted child star. Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland, The Kids Are Alright, also starring Julianne Moore, Jane Eyre) will play Agatha, Benjie's disfigured, schizophrenic, fame-obsessed sister.

They join Rob as well as Julianne Moore, John Cusack and Sarah Gadon. No updates on the character descriptions for these top-shelf stars yet.



A few quotes surrounding the release:

• ThePlaylist: His films may be freaky and funky and may not appeal to the average Joe Moviegoer, but stars line up to work with David Cronenberg. Simply, with unique stories usually married with inventive visuals, the filmmaker makes the kinds of movies few get the chance to do in Hollywood and so it comes as no surprise that his upcoming "Maps To The Stars" is lining up talent left and right....Drugs, disfigurement, manipulation? Yep, that's Cronenberg.
• Up&Comers: David Cronenberg continues to build an impressive cast for his next feature
• TheFilmStage: It sounds the director is moving further into unhinged territory

In the press release, producer, Martin Katz, said:

The level of talent that we are attracting to this film speaks to the continuing allure of David Cronenberg. We are thrilled to share these latest casting additions as we take this exciting new project to Cannes.

The film is full steam ahead with sales happening later this month in Cannes and production beginning in Toronto and Los Angeles this July.

Um. Am I excited?? YES. MTTS news makes me get up and dance. This is going to be a great production.
