Vanity Fair also had some fun details from the event. Excerpt:
McGregor was the host of the evening’s fundraiser for the GO Campaign, in a room was crowded with stars, including Robert Pattinson and his fiancée, F.K.A. Twigs—who also performed later that evening—Kate Hudson, Vin Diesel and his wife, Paloma Jiménez, Jerrod Carmichael, and Katy Perry, the latter of whom brushed past the press on the red carpet to join Pattinson and Twigs at the coolest table in the room.
The three of them sat next to each other and seemed chummy, while Twigs and Pattinson showed moderate signs of affection throughout the night. (The same cannot be said for the one random couple that somehow ended up at the table and couldn’t stop the P.D.A., though no one seemed to interact with them or know who they were.) Twigs also engaged in conversation with the director Luc Besson, who has been photographed bowing to kiss her hand in the past and apparently remains an ardent fan.
Twigs later went onstage to perform three songs, dancing in bare feet and singing about “pacifying and clarifying our love,” which seemed to put Perry in an awe-inspiring trance and got Pattinson to bang the table with applause. Following that was the auction, where 100 percent of the proceeds were given to GO’s projects on the ground to help children around the world. After Pattinson made the rounds chatting and patting backs of donors, the A-list table got down to business: Perry paid $5,500 for a Mexican-fiesta cocktail party for 50 people, McGregor’s daughter Esther got a Mexican villa vacation for $16,000, Hudson gave $1,000 to help pay for the salaries of music teachers, Jiménez gave $3,500 for an instrument made of trash, and Pattinson got a Peruvian adventure for $8,500. Twigs looked happy; honeymoon, perhaps?
Excerpt from ET online:
When the 29-year-old heartthrob wasn't working the room at the star-studded gala at the Montage Beverly Hills, he spent his time cozying up to Twigs, his arm draped around the "Glass & Patron" songstress' shoulders. The pair talked and laughed with their tablemates, including Katy Perry, Kate Hudson, Jerrod Carmichael, director Luc Besson, and Vin Diesel and wife Paloma Jiménez. The media-shy duo attended the charity auction to help raise money for the GO Campaign to benefit orphans and vulnerable children around the world. Earlier this month, Pattinson announced he had become the organization's first celebrity ambassador.
...
Twigs, real name Tahliah Barnett, performed three of her songs at the event in her trademark ethereal style, and at one point, brought four teens from the Recycled Orchestra -- a Paraguayan music program supported by the GO Campaign -- to accompany her onstage with their homemade instruments. At the end of the brief set, Pattinson showed his appreciation by banging enthusiastically on the table while Perry led the room in a standing ovation for the 27-year-old singer. That should help quiet the persistent rumors that Perry and Pattinson's relationship is anything more than platonic.
...
Before Twigs took to the stage, Pattinson ponied up during the charity auction to help keep girls in school in rural Congo and build a music school in Paraguay. Judging by the smile on FKA Twigs' face, the big win, however, was definitely Pattinson's successful bid for a six-night Peruvian adventure for two.

Robert Pattinson Has Been Named As Go Campaign’s 1st Ambassador
The Go Campaign have announced that Rob will be their first ambassador! Fantastic News. So proud of Rob!
LOS ANGELES, CA (November 2, 2015) – Robert Pattinson (The Rover, Life, Twilight Saga), has been named Ambassador for GO Campaign, as announced today by Founder & CEO Scott Fifer. As Ambassador, Pattinson will help raise international awareness of the non-profit organization and support their fundraising endeavors throughout the year.Source: Go Campaign
Pattinson will attend GO Campaign events, introduce GO Campaign to new people and companies interested in learning more, and help to raise the international profile of the organization as they head into their 10th year next year.
GO Campaign improves the lives of orphans and vulnerable children around the world by partnering with local heroes to deliver local solutions. The organization connects donors to high-impact grassroots projects aimed at changing lives and transforming communities; the grassroots organizations provide children and young adults with critical services. GO Campaign supports and raises awareness about the small but highly impactful local organizations that provide shelter, food, clean water, medical care, education, vocational training and income-generating activities. Providing these services and opportunities, GO Campaign helps them build a better future which is a critical part of the solution when it comes to fighting poverty. From East L.A. to East Africa, GO Campaign has impacted over 76,000 children across 20 countries since its inception in 2006.
“I’ve eagerly followed the growing impact GO Campaign has had over the years, on so many children and youth, and I love how tangible and transparent it is. They partner with some remarkable grassroots local heroes who are doing fantastic work but who lack the needed resources, and in places where a little bit of money can go a long way. I’ve been a donor and a supporter, and now I look forward to joining their efforts, so together we can give opportunity to even more kids and young adults across the globe,” stated Pattinson.Pattinson has been a staunch supporter of the organization for several years, attending their annual galas and providing auctionable items for the annual fundraising efforts. In 2011 he donated a set visit and meet and greet on the set of Twilight: Breaking Dawn that sold for $80,000. Those funds were used to build a center for girls’ education in Cambodia. “It was Rob’s idea to become our ambassador”, stated Fifer, “just as it was his idea to donate the set visit back in 2011. He really believes in what we do, and that’s the most we could ever ask for in an ambassador. We are thrilled to have him get even more involved and help us raise greater awareness as GO Campaign heads into our 10th year of giving opportunity to children around the world.”
Hosted by Ewan McGregor, this year’s annual gala is scheduled for November 12 at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills and will honor Abel Barrera Hernandez, Mexico’s leading human rights activist/educator; Favio Chavez and the Recycled Orchestra from Paraguay who play instruments made out of trash; and Neema Namadamu, a disabled community activist fighting for the rights of girls and women in the Congo. 100% of Gala ticket proceeds fund GO Campaign’s grantmaking for local heroes here at home and around the world.

Werner Herzog about Robert Pattinson as T.E. Lawrence: "He is a smart man and the choice was quite natural."
We have two films to look forward to in 2015 and both of them have Rob tackling real life characters. T.E. Lawrence is arguably the better known character and Werner Herzog has nothing but praise to give Rob for his take on the iconic figure in Queen of the Desert.
Can you tell us more about your next movie 'Queen Of The Desert'?
In less than ten days, I will start the mixing. The filming and editing are completed and I should be able to put an end to the movie in the first days of december.I don't know where or when it will be shown for the first time.
The cast is really impressive: Nicole Kidman, James Franco, Robert Pattinson...
They all really wanted to work with me. I was asked why I chose Pattinson. It's not a big part, and it matched perfectly. I needed an englishman who still looks like a schoolboy but which is very smart. He plays Lawrence of Arabia, but at the age of 22, on an archeological site. Kidman, who plays the main role is wondering what that kid has to do in a place like this, and an archeologist tells her that this kid has a PhD.Pattinson is really good in that role. He is a smart man and the choice was quite natural.
On m’a demandé pourquoi j’avais choisi Pattinson.
Robert Pattinson's strong 2014 + The Rover and Maps To The Stars make more Best Of 2014 lists
More year end lists! And this batch are of the professional variety. Maps To The Stars and The Rover have popped up without much outside help. Just simply being great films keeps them on the minds of several folks. To get us in the mood, we'll start with this montage video of 2014 films that includes both of Rob's movies this year. Hint: MTTS is first, then The Rover.
Rob was recognized individually byAnn Thompson of Indiewire/Thompson on Hollywood:

7. The Rover + review ("Robert Pattinson in a career redefining role")The Playlist: The 20 Best Films of 2014
20. “The Rover”The Playlist: Best Of 2014: The 15 Best Movie Soundtracks Of 2014
If one takes “The Rover” on its own methodical, minimalist terms — an existentialist fable that burrows deep into the moralism of its corrupted, barren landscape — it’s hard to deny that writer/director David Michod’s sophomore effort wholly accomplishes what it sets out to do. Stripping away all narrative complexity to the point of abstraction, the character study really breathes, but in such a completely different way to Michod's triumphant last feature "Animal Kingdom," that after just two features and a few shorts, Michod has us convinced he's the real deal. Featuring a stunningly grizzled, grimy lead performance by Guy Pearce, easily one of our favorite working actors, and an impressive turn from Robert Pattinson who is growing as a performer with every film, it's a movie that pulsates beneath the surface and in the long silences between dialogue and outbursts of violence. And it’s starkly beautiful to look at and to listen to, eschewing revelations and plot twists to deliver its deceptively simple story through mood, tone and atmosphere.
6. The Rover
You gotta hand it to Aussie David Michôd. After “Animal Kingdom” the world was his oyster and he spent months in Hollywood looking at scripts and potential projects. But for a second act Michôd decided to take a bold left turn with “The Rover,” a dissonant, minimalist two-hander that feels literally scorched by the sun. For his post-economic-collapse picture, Michôd decided to only employ post-apocalyptic modes through mood, atmosphere, and music. While there’s some score by Antony Partos utilized, the bulk of the movie’s simmering, sinister musical tendencies are discordant and cacophonous source music by experimental and ambient composers the director chose (all of it listed here). There’s seminal avant-garde musician William Basinski (who might be experiencing a minor renaissance since he was used in “The Comedy” in 2013), Chicago post-rockers Tortoise, and Montreal-based saxophonist and multireedist Colin Stetson—a touring member of Arcade Fire, Bell Orchestre, and Bon Iver (he also wrote the underrated score for “Blue Caprice” along with Sarah Neufeld from Arcade Fire). “The Rover” is not the most inviting or forgiving movie, but that’s the point (and of course a chipper Keri Hilson song briefly breaks the mood in a moment that’s both comical and yet heartbreaking). It’s a bleak, nihilistic look at the strange and unlikely partnership between a deceptively complex simpleton (Robert Pattinson) and callous, nearly inhuman man (Guy Pearce) who will stop at nothing to retrieve all that he has lost. And Michôd’s soundtrack is equally cruel, heartless, and unrelenting—in the best way.
The Rover pops up in this year end video but blink and you'll miss it! Hint: It's not an obvious scene.
And as if this isn't good enough, Rob's 2015 movies are making lists already! Little White Lies included LIFE on their list of Top 50 Movies You Need To See In 2015:
We still shiver when recollecting the luscious monochrome of Corbijn’s Ian Curtis pic, Control. Interim efforts may not have packed so intense a punch but the legacy of his debut lives on. The Dutch photographer created the effect of characters moving through a world so textured that it seemed to have its own pulse. For Life — the story of a photographer and his relationship with James Dean, Dane DeHaan plays the original rebel without a cause opposite reformed heartthrob, Robert Pattinson. Let’s see what he makes of them. Did you know Anton Corbijn bought his first camera when he was 18.
Robert Pattinson playing hard to get in super cute fan encounter from the Go Go Gala (Nov. 13)
Remember this great pic from the Go Go Gala?
Well she wrote an account of her evening and it's too cute.
From TealKitty:
First things first, met my (future) boyfriend Robert Pattinson. Hey, Rob.
I attended the Go Campaign Gala last Thursday night at The Montage in Beverly Hills.
The Montage is one of my go-to places to go in west LA when I have nothing to do. My best friend Lauren and I would always go to the rooftop bar with Starbucks to kill time before going out on the town and causing trouble in my teenage years. The Montage is a gorgeous hotel and the architecture and gardens get me every time.
Go Campaign is an organization that improves equal opportunity to unprivileged children. The event included an auction to benefit the campaign and raise awareness. The venue included the most beautiful vibrant flowers scattered everywhere, handmade truffles and belly dancers.
One of the attendees of the event was Robert Pattinson. To be completely honest, I haven't even seen all the Twilight movies. After this night though, I am most definitely 'Team Edward.' And one time my dad and I drove through Forks if that counts for anything. I talked with Rob about the organization and asked him if he goes back to the UK often. Turns out that we'll both be there over the holidays. I was waiting for him to invite me go on a ride on the London Eye with him or take all the escalators in Harrods...but he didn't. Obviously my future soulmate is playing hard to get. I can play games too, Rob.Best. <3

MORE Fabulous NEW PICS Of Robert Pattinson At The Go Go Gala Last Night
Love these. Look at how happy he looks!
UPDATE:
Details from EOnline:
Unsurprisingly, Robert Pattinson—and his insane new hairdo—stole the spotlight last night at the 7th Annual Go Go Gala in Beverly Hills, where the 28-year-old hunk showed his support for the charity, which works to improve the lives of orphans and vulnerable children around the world.
The former Twilight star is close with the organization's founder, Scott Fifer, with whom he posed for pics on red carpet (Pattinson also attended the event last year).
According to an eyewitness, FKA Twigs man arrived solo and earlier than expected, and, despite being the biggest star in the room, he kept a low profile before he took a moment to walk the red carpet, showing off his headline-making hairstyle.
"He wasn't being bothered by anyone and seemed to be enjoying himself before the dinner began, and, even though there were young girls present, he was not approached by any Twi-hards!" the eyewitness said.
Prior to the charity dinner, drinks were served at the event, and Rob appeared in good spirits while sipping a beverage out of a white wine glass with a lime in it (perhaps a fancy cocktail?) as he chatted with pals, including Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Glenn Howerton.
"He looked upbeat and was constantly running his fingers through that shaggy new ‘do before he headed into the ballroom a few minutes early for dinner," the eyewitness says.
During the three course meal, which took place at the Montage in Beverly Hills, Rob sat next to Howerton, as well as a blond woman, who appeared to be part of the charity gala. He listened intently to the program and stood up from his seat when honoree Ruchira Gupta was given a standing ovation after her speech.
While dessert was being served, an auction took place, and once again, Rob did not disappoint. The Cosmopolis star bid $6,000 for a dinner for 12 at Gjelina restaurant—a popular eatery in Venice often frequented by Beyoncé and Jay Z—although the fancy meal ended up going for $8500.
While Rob did not publicly bid on any of the other items, a source tells E! News that the charitable thesp contributed a "significant amount" to Go Go Gala, and clearly, he couldn't stop smiling at the auction.
"Overall, everyone seemed really pleased to have such a big name attached to the project!" the eyewitness said, noting that Rob brings a famous face to a very important cause.
Last year, Fifer publicly applauded Rob at the event after the actor donated a meet-and-greet on the set of Twilight: Breaking Dawn for the non-profit's online auction two years ago. The item was sold for $80,000 to a woman in Chicago and the proceeds led to the creation of the Program Advancing Girls' Education (PAGE) in Cambodia.
Talk about a hottie with a heart of gold!

365 Days of Robert Pattinson: December 17th ~ Fave Rob Song
What can we say about Rob's music? We love it, and live in hope that we'll hear more of it in the future. Until then though, thank God there IS actually some of his music out there which leads us onto today's topic "Fave Rob Song". I've been looking forward to this one.
We've gone for some classic oldies today but let us know what your favourites are by leaving the links in the comments below.
And now grab a cuppa, relax and have a listen to what we picked out for you ;)
Tink
"i’m going with Let Me Sign. it was the song that first made me notice Rob’s voice. when i watched Twilight, i didn’t know Rob had contributed music let alone could sing or play instruments. Never Think is beautiful but it’s played low in the film. i was paying attention to the scene more than listening to the background music. it didn’t resonate upon my first viewing of Twilight. however, Let Me Sign came on and the intent of the scene/montage was for you to actually hear the music and hear that gorgeously aching voice. when he sang, “i will wrap you in my arms…” i just about died. i will never forget it. it was a jolt to the heart and so beautiful. i said to myself, “i need to look up that song when I’m done watching this movie and see who’s singing.” imagine my surprise. that was the start of my love for Rob’s music and helped launch me down a road to Robsession. "
Kate
"SUCH a difficult choice but I’m going with this classic!"
Kat
"Whoah… this one was difficult… aside from his karaoke duet with Katy Perry, this has always been a favourite. Tingles down your spine good…"

Robert Pattinson gives "a remarkable, powerhouse performance" in Cosmopolis! More year-end Best Of lists!
All these lists are pretty damn satisfying. They continue to flood in and they don't even count the fanboys Kat noted in the ROBsessed Awards HERE.

- Chicago Reader: Cosmopolis ranked 10 out of 10 best of 2012
Rob was also featured in this movie montage as well as his other films, Bel Ami and Breaking Dawn Part 2!
Rounding out some just-for-fun, kind of poll wins, Rob won Hollywood Crush's poll for:
- Best On Screen Couple - Edward & Bella: No surprise here! In the final year of "The Twilight Saga"'s big-screen run, its leading lovers, the newlywed Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, dominated in this category.
- Best Sex Scene - Bel Ami: Not even the "Twilight" fandom could outvote the National Society for the Appreciation of Robert Pattinson's Nude Upperbutt! Despite a nomination for his vampire bang-a-lang in "Breaking Dawn," his skin-tastic turn as a slutty social climber in "Bel Ami" edged out the top spot.
We have our own poll for these two categories coming up in a few hours so keep a look out!
Flashback: Addicted and devoted to Robert Pattinson and his music
We've been talking about MusicalRob on the blog recently from his jam session with Dermot to SaxophonistRob. In the comments, I catch when people say, "oh I've never seen this, never heard this, never known this!" and I saw that in those posts. We know Rob keeps his musical side pretty protected. The last recording we were privy to was made over two years ago and shared publicly well over a year after that (It's All On You). If you're new to Robsession, you might not know all that is out there with Rob's musical stamp on it.
Since MusicalRob is so beloved, doesn't take much for us to do a post like this :) Let's review all the gems we have from one talented man.
4 years ago, music Rob had self recorded leaked out and gave fans an awesome sampling of his soulful, raw vocal quality. Stray Dog and I'll Be Your Lover Too are my favorites from that series.
Stray Dog
I'll Be Your Lover Too
To Roam
To Roam video with lyrics
Rob also used to frequent open mics and there are a couple videos that captured either his performance of the vocals. The first song that reached my heart and clenched it was I Was Broken. LAWD the emotion in his voice. I heard it first in May 2009, when I became Robsessed. Rob's talent was everywhere in my searches for who this guy playing Edward Cullen was.
I Was Broken - written by Rob's friend Marcus Foster
This is the full version, vocal recording only, also worth a listen. Love the tone he starts the song with.
I adore this live version of Stray Dog. It also kills me because had I been Robsessed during the fall of 08 and not spring of 09, I might have caught this performance in LA.
Stray Dog
These recordings are two more Marcus Foster songs performed live by Rob. Not the best recording but you can hear Rob setting up his songs and singing to his heart's content.
In Your Head
I Don't Mind

Video of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner accepting (and giving away) their Teen Choice Award Surfboards
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner accepted Ultimate Choice Award, Choice Movie Romance and Choice Movie Actress Romance awards for Twilight at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards.
Then gave them away... so sweet, which made it into the Teen Choice Awards: Top 5 Moments.
1. Twilight Gives Back
For once, the Twilight smash franchise wasn't just winning awards – the stars were giving them away!
After Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner picked up their surf boards for their on-screen performances, the leading vampire was feeling rather generous.
"I don't know if I'm allowed to – can I give this to the audience?" Pattinson asked, before handing his summery prize to fans in the audience. Stewart then followed his example and also gave away her award.
EOnline loved it too... Best Appearance.
Best Appearance: The Twilight Saga isn't over just yet. As we anxiously wait for Breaking Dawn - Part 2 to release this fall, we got to see Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner accept the Ultimate Choice Award after an incredible movie montage that got us that much more excited for the next film. Oh, and did you know Twilight has won 41 Teen Choice Awards?
Looking hawt Mr. Scruffy McPattinson.
Sinful Sunday starring Robert Pattinson
I've been in Bel Ami heaven since May 4th at midnight. I downloaded the score to waltz around my house with it playing, had a 4 hour Bel Ami discussion on the phone with my friend Deb (we know every inch of that movie), and haven't let anything else grace my TV all weekend. I hope you guys enjoyed the film but I know you might enjoy the goodies for sinful sunday...
source
Oh yes....we'll enjoy these goodies indeed.
source
Yes yes yesssssss...this montage with Clo and Georges was delicious. It makes me smile, so light and sexy and romantic.
source
This kiss was lovely. "I thought you didn't want me anymore." GAH.
source
JESUS. I want to go to there. You guys saw the forehead kiss, right?
source
Forever classic and so damn sexy.

Positive reactions for Robert Pattinson and Cosmopolis continue
The Cosmopolis poster was analyzed and Rob's top billing was noted. An excerpt from Slant Magazine:
"Pattinson. Cronenberg. Cosmopolis." There's no question that allowing the heartthrob's surname to stand alone is a testament to his proven abilities as a major box-office draw, but this image also reflects the first time Pattinson has been taken as seriously by an auteur as he is by legions of unwavering fans. That Pattinson and Cronenberg are getting equal billing speaks volumes about the director's confidence in his star, and it pretty much cements this 25-year-old as having the finest post-Twilight career of the mega-brand's insta-celebs. It's a lot more telling, for instance, than Cosmopolis being voted "must-see movie of the year" on MTV.com, whose readers probably didn't look far past that stubbled jawline. What's surely more enticing for a different set of viewers is the eclectic international cast whose names line the bottom: Juliette Binoche. Mathieu Almaric. Samantha Morton. Paul Giamatti. Pattinson has found himself in some truly ace company, and the film's test, beyond adapting a novel that wasn't so well received, will be proving that this actor has mustered the chops to lead it.Cosmopolis was also named 'Poster of the Week' by Total Film:
The teaser continues to receive positive feedback as well. :)
Flix66:
Although I spew a lot of Twilight hate in my news posts, I’m actually rooting for Robert Pattinson to break out of the Edward mold and have a successful career. I thought WATER FOR ELEPHANTS was going to be the film that proved Robert Pattinson was more than just a brooding vampire, but it underwhelmed and so now I’m left hoping COSMOPOLIS will be that film. I, like the rest of the planet, was extremely impressed with the short teaser trailer we saw last week and if that 1 minute montage is any indication, Robert Pattinson nails this part and definitely grows up as an actor.Cinema Blend:
...
I can’t say I’m always a fan of David Cronenberg, but I love the idea of him and Pattinson teaming up for a film. Cronenberg is exactly what Robert Pattinson needs at this point in his career.
...
Hopefully, the right company will get behind this and maybe Robert Pattinson can get some awards recognition.
If you're like us then your jaw has been on the floor since the first teaser trailer for David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis dropped one week ago. In addition to showing us a very different Robert Pattinson than the one we've gotten to know in the Twilight movies, the preview also showed us that this could be the film that brings Cronenberg back to his roots. We're eagerly anticipating the feature length trailer, which, sadly, we probably won't see for a while, but for now we have four brand new stills from the movie.Grizzly Bomb:
For those of you doubting the strength of Robert Pattinson as an actor, just shut up. Seriously, just shut up already. The guy did the nearly impossible – He escaped the Twilight persona. Robert Pattinson is an extremely talented young actor with an already eclectic resume and disgustingly bright future ahead of him. And I’m not just saying this because I love Twilight, which I don’t. I’m saying it because the difference between him and Taylor Lautner is that Pattinson actually understands the meaning of emotion and facial expression. If you’re still skeptical, check out the teaser trailer below. Cosmopolis also stars Paul Giamatti, Samantha Morton, Jay Baruchel, Kevin Durand, and Juliette Binoche, AKA, the best cast I’ve seen this year thus far.Sound + Vision/translation via:
COSMOPOLIS – THE TEASER OF THE YEAR an noticeably awaited film, an avant la lettre cult object, that gathers Don DeLillo, Robert Pattinson, producer Paulo Branco and, last but not least, director David Cronenberg. We already have our release date, poster and a brief and genius teaser that exists as itself as a contagious 30 seconds film – if nobody has invented the teaser of the year’s award this is surely the time to do so.”Screen Rant:
The most recent addition to Pattinson’s indie resume is a film that truly deserves to be labeled “edgy” and “risque”: David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis.Movieland:
Many are not quite sure if Pattinson can tear himself away from that image but you can put all those doubts to rest, because a short teaser for the upcoming movie Cosmopolis is here, and it looks amazing.Best Movies Ever:
The international teaser trailer has hit below, and it packs quite a nice punch and makes you want to see the full trailer. When I heard he was on this film, naturally I thought nothing more of it, but after seeing the film and this teaser, I can say, you’ll look at Pattinson with some real acting respect. It’s nice when you’re lowered expectations are suddenly raised like that.Moviepilot:
The Wild And Wonderful Teasing Teaser For 'Cosmopolis'... Robert Pattinson is so over exposed that we can't help but feeling like we know him, really know him. Today we're here to tell you to forget everything we and you think about him. Because the first teaser for David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis will blow your mind.Total Film:
The teaser looks every bit as scuzzily weird as we’ve come to expect from Cronenberg, with Pattinson clearly relishing the opportunity to play a more engaging character than that afforded him by TheTwilight Saga.Cinevue:
The trailer seems to have taken some inspiration from the work of French enfant terrible Gaspar Noè, featuring a pounding soundtrack, fizzing titles and flashes of some severely screwed-up imagery. Of all of Pattinson's post-Twilight roles, his latest turn as Cosmopolis' millionaire protagonist Eric Packer could be the one to finally establish himself as an actor to take seriously, shedding the romantic gloss for something a lot darker.Collider:
As unfair as it is, I’m just as guilty as the next guy or gal of writing off Robert Pattinson in any role because he’s, well, Edward Cullen. In this NSFW international teaser trailer for David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis adapation, though, Pattinson is far from a sparkly vampire with self-control issues. In fact, he kind of seems like a badass. Say what you will, but I think that a little Cronenberg gore and violence is exactly what the doctor ordered to help begin laying Cullen to rest.Tweets have been endless with their support from writers, film buffs, fanboys, and even Tyler who worked on set.
From @Spliner_Durden/Tyler:
- #Cosmopolis will blow you all away, Rob is a gritty and real anti-hero! Rob was a champ! Cronenberg had him running and gunning take after take and he was up for it. Totally changed my opinion of him.
- "@Claire_dlR: @Spilner_Durden :D Nice. Have you seen the teaser that was released last week?” YES! I'm 100 times more excited to see it now!
- @RobertDazzlesMe I honestly think, as with most Cronenberg films, this could be a sleeper hit with Oscar buzz, depends on how 'crazy' it is.
- “@noemiesornet: @Spilner_Durden Hi, what was your work on Cosmopolis ? :)” Locations Production Assistant for a shoot at The Opera House
@Lynnee08 yeah I think Twilight gave a lot of people the wrong impression of him but Cosmopolis will be the film that truly makes his name.- “@RobertDazzlesMe Do you think Cosmopolis could win at Cannes?" not only can but will! It will at least get great reviews from true experts.
- @HarryKolmer: Is it possible that I think a Robert Pattinson movie looks like it could be the best of the year? Damn right. #cosmoplis
- @Kay11thLetter Forgot to mention the trailer for Cosmopolis. Boy, that looks good. Pattinson looks actually brilliant. Giamatti in it as well. #imthere
- @mallaby David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis looks incredible! I might actually go and see a Robert Pattinson movie
- @bretmeholick Cosmopolis trailer is out. I think this may kickstart the era of hypocritical men backtracking on Pattinson. "I always liked Rob!"-2014 man
- @nathanfisher SERIOUSLY Cronenberg's COSMOPOLIS teaser is even better than expected. R-Patz haters gonna get schooled
- @Jet_Strajker This could be the best Cronenberg since his masterpiece Crash. Pattinson seems to fit perfectly. It just raised my expectation.
- @Bryanw702 That Robert Pattinson movie Cosmopolis looks badass!!
- @MattGoldberg Do you hear that? It's the sound of people changing their opinions of Robert Pattinson
They're signing a different tune now, Rob! :')

I Lived Through Robert Pattinson's "Bel Ami"
Yes can you believe it? I saw DuRob and I lived to tell the tale!
I knew it was my duty to come back and report to you all. I think that's the only reason I managed to survive.
If there’s anything I haven’t covered in my review or anything you specifically want to know make sure and ask in the comments and I’ll try and answer as best I can (IF I can remember, I’m still in a bit of DuRob haze :-))
Also the directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod introduced the movie at the festival and were supposed to be doing a Q&A afterwards but for some reason that didn't happen.
I videoed the introduction where they spoke about the movie and Rob (it's funny) so in case you missed it, you can check that out HERE
As you all know, I was beyond excited to have the chance to see the Irish Premiere of “Bel Ami” at the Jameson International Dublin Film Festival last Sunday.
I went in to watch the film with an open and unbiased mind as possible because I wanted to give a frank and fair review and not just talk about Rob’s ass (as fine as it was) because believe me there is a LOT more to “Bel Ami”.
You can see that it really was a labour of love for all those involved.
So here goes..........................
The movie is beautifully shot, hard to believe that it’s Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod’s first time directing a movie. The sets that they used are simply stunning as are the many close-ups of Rob's gorgeous face.
And the costumes, well, we all know how good Robert Pattinson looks in (and out) of period clothes.
“Bel Ami” is the type of movie that I wouldn’t worry about recommending to my non-Rob fan friends. I’m quite sure they’d enjoy it because I feel that there is something in “Bel Ami” to satisfy everyone.
I was expecting a very dark movie and while it was quite a dark in parts I was surprised that there are quite a few light scenes that had me grinning and laughing. There were giggles from the audience throughout. The scene that caused the biggest giggle was when Georges had managed to bed all three of the women and after at dinner he glanced from one to the other and gave this devilish grin of satisfaction. You could just imagine his inner voice saying “I am the Boss”
Robert Pattinson's Bel Ami reviewed by Indiewire/The Playlist
A mixed review....highlight: "convincing, well-observed moment"
From Indiewire/ThePlaylist by Jessica Kiang:
From behind, we watch a man in ragged clothes look longingly through the window of a fancy Belle Epoque Parisian restaurant. Inside richly attired women whisper secrets over brimful glasses of champagne and decadent platters laden with food. Later the hungry man in his mean garret relives the moment, jealousy and bitterness at the injustice of his situation playing across his face, before the memory of such opulence actually makes him cry. It's a convincing, well-observed moment that sets up a lot of what we need to know about the man's character. Oh wait, did we mention the man is played by Robert Pattinson?
"Bel Ami," Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod's adaptation of the acerbic Guy de Maupassant novel, features a starry cast in some wonderful costuming, and follows the fortunes of ambitious Georges Duroy (Pattinson) as he ruthlessly climbs his way up the social ladder of 1890s Paris, using little but his talents at seduction. It quite speaks to the level of stardom the "Twilight" films have brought the young actor that, in amongst a cast that features Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott-Thomas, really the burning question is: What is Pattinson like? Will he convert his detractors (unlikely) or cool the ardor of his vocal fan base (probably impossible)?MORE after the cut
