CASTING: Jeffrey Wright and Jonah Hill in talks to join Robert Pattinson in The Batman
Rumors abound as the trades report on casting for The Batman! The Hollywood Reporter announced that Jeffery Wright (Westworld, The Hunger Games franchise, James Bond franchise) is in talks to play Commissioner Gordon and Variety reports that Jonah Hill is being considered for a secret role in The Batman. - possibly the Riddler or Penguin.
Nothing is set in stone but that hasn't stopped the fanart from thriving!
MOVIE NEWS: Robert Pattinson exits The Souvenir sequel, casting rumors spread about The Batman + MORE
According to Indiewire, Rob will not be able to film Joanna Hogg's The Souvenir sequel. Production was slated for next month but as we know, Rob is filming Nolan's Tenet this summer, already in production.
A rep for Rob told Indiewire, "Despite Rob’s strong desire to do the film, scheduling proved impossible but he very much looks forward to working with Joanna on something down the line." No doubt he will. Rob never forgets his director bucket list.
Switching to The Batman, fansite, Geeks WorldWide, claims to have exclusive info on villains that will be in the film. Matt Reeves has already stated in The Hollywood Reporter that he will feature Batman's rogues gallery, a phrasing often used to describe Batman's many villains in the comics. It looks like Geeks WorldWide got a hold of the casting call sheet for the film. Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler and Firefly are on the list requesting actors of any ethnicity between various ages to play the roles.
You likely know Catwoman, famously played by Michelle Pfeiffer, The Penguin, played by Danny DeVito, and The Riddler played by Jim Carrey. Or I could be dating myself? Making presumptions about your interest in 90s Batman films? Firefly, I don't know at all. Do any of you? Beyond the comics, Firefly seems to have made appearances in video games.
We'll see if these rumors pan out and who will be cast in these iconic roles. Visit GWW for a little more description of the villains. For example, the "tight one piece" will be worn by The Penguin. ;) A fanboy on a Reddit thread had an interesting theory that I dig:
Catwoman is definitely going to need to have smoking' hawt chemistry with Battinson. I mean......
I'm putting all the responsibility on the actresses. Sorry, acting ladies. Look at the post labels. This is a fact. He can set the screen on fire all alone. Can you handle it? Can you bring more combustable elements?? I certainly look forward to the official casting news! Which won't be at Comic Con. :( *womp womp*
I'll leave you with another fanvid for The Batman. Can you name all the Rob films the fanboy pulled from? Of course you can. You got your Robology degree at ROBsessed University. Some folks are just getting started....

Things that make you go hmmmmmm: Robert Pattinson is engaged to FKA twigs? T-Pain says so! UPDATE2: Gossip Cop is here to play ball and gives this rumor an 8 out of 10 and grabbing this quote from Vulture:
According to People, Pattinson and Twigs are officially engaged after six months of dating. Gossip Cop has reached out once again to a rep for confirmation and comment. The Twilight actor and the musician have been linked since last year. They’ve been spotted together across the globe in recent months as both pursued busy professional schedules.
When Gossip Cop first reached out to Vulture for clarification on T-Pain’s comments, a rep for the outlet told us, “This is a real interview with T-Pain and to our knowledge he wasn’t joking about the engagement!” As we contacted other sources, T-Pain tweeted that the whole thing was a joke, and we took him at his word and reported it. The rapper-producer’s tone and language in the interview seemed earnest and straightforward, but given the April 1 coincidence, we gave T-Pain the benefit of the doubt.
It now seems like T-Pain’s subsequent “April Fools'” explanation on Twitter may just have been cover for unwittingly revealing a real Pattinson-Twigs engagement. We have yet to hear from their mouths that they’re engaged, but the latest report sounds more confirmed than any previous engagement buzz. Gossip Cop will have updates.
HMMMMMMMMMMM! UPDATE: It looks like T-Pain has jokes! And Vulture wasn't in on it.
"T-Pain claims his seemingly accidental slip at the end of this interview regarding FKA Twigs and Robert Pattinson's engagement was in fact an April Fool's Joke. April Fools?"
Who have you been listening to for inspiration? FKA Twigs, she’s one of my favorite artists right now. I’m also super into James Blake right now, and Sampha. A lot of international artists.
Will FKA Twigs be on your new album? Well, the first time we even met each other, we met in the studio. Her music’s changed a lot since then. But she’s on tour so much, and anytime I call her, she’s in a different place. And she’s engaged now, so that’s about to be a whole other thing. [Laughs.]
Wait, she’s engaged? That's news to me. Yeah, to ol’ Patty [Robert Pattinson]. I don’t know if she wanted anybody to know that …
Robert Pattinson attends Sexy Men conference with Bradley Cooper, Leonardo DiCaprio and Zac Efron?
Heeeeeeeey Rob....whatcha been up to??
Last Thursday, Rob was spotted kicking off the weekend at the new Hyde Lounge in Hollywood. We shrugged it off since it was a tweet with no pic but Page Six is adding to the rumor and we're just gonna title Rob's past weekend as the Sexy Men conference.
Johnny “Football” Manziel stayed true to his party-boy reputation and mingled with stars including Leo DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper and Robert Pattinson in LA on Thursday night. The Cleveland Browns quarterback was introduced to the actors at Hyde Lounge, before they all went onto 1 Oak LA, where boxer Lennox Lewis was hanging with Ryan Phillippe. A witness said Pattinson and Cooper sat with Emile Hirsch while Manziel “jumped from table to table, and hung out in the DJ booth.”
E! also placed Rob with some friends over the weekend, including Zac Efron and Michelle Rodriguez:
The Neighbors star was spotted, overnight bag in hand, apparently leaving Michelle's Los Angeles home on Sunday, the pair having enjoyed a night out with pals on Saturday at Chateau Marmont. Zac was also carrying a skateboard as he eased his way out through a side entrance and made his way to his car, his morning hair tucked under a baseball hat. An eyewitness exclusively tells E! News that Zac and Michelle were hanging out in the back garden of the West Hollywood hot spot with a group that included Robert Pattinson.
Rob's next 3 films are rumored and expected to show up at one of these fall fests.
Maps To The Stars going to TIFF seems like a foregone conclusion at this point. It's expected to have its North American premiere there and then released later in the fall.
Life is the last Rob film to be a part of the fall fest rumors and it's the one I'm looking forward to the most. One guess why....
Anton Corbijn revealed that Philip Seymour Hoffman was planning on being in Life before his passing. The Playlist speculates that he could have played Dennis Stock's editor (now played by Joel Edgerton) or Jack Warner (played by Ben Kinglsey).
The Playlist also suggested that "Life is expected to be among the announcements for TIFF and Venice when they arrive next week". This would definitely be a pleasant surprise if it turns out to be true. VERY pleasant.
As for Rob's fall filming schedule, it looks like we'll see him film Idol's Eye and The Childhood of a Leader. TCOAL's time frame jumps around between September and November and IE jumps between October and November. We'll see how they shape up the closer we get since schedules on indies change frequently. The Lost City of Z was last scheduled for January 2015 but there seems to be a conflict with Benedict Cumberbatch's schedule (he's slated to now be working on Sherlock) so like the others, we just have to wait and see.
That's all that the updates on Rob's film slate for now. We'll keep you posted next week when the lineups are announced for the film festivals!
UPDATE: Another mention from a different interview added below Robert Pattinson to work with Olivier Assayas? "Let's hope so..."
It looks like Rob has got another esteemed director lined up...Olivier Assayas!
The rumor comes from an interview Assayas conducted with French newspaper, "The Inrocks". Pattinson Art Work has provided a translation of the interview but the French version follows directly after:
Translation: "I see that in the United States, especially since the success of 'l'Heure d'été' and 'Carlos', I gained a relative notoriety, which sharpens the curiosity of some actors. In my next film, for example, will included Robert Pattinson."
That's awesome. Rob is pretty entrenched in the auteur, independent film circuit now. And a bit of trivia, do you remember the last time we mentioned Assayas on the blog? These guys were having a bit of fun with Rob's fandom but Rob was there with buddies Tom Sturridge and Johnny Flynn (Flynn was in Assayas' Something In The Air). Now I wish those guys had eavesdropped on some conversations with Rob and Olivier. We know the collaboration was welcomed in 2012....
The film Rob might be in isn't specified but Variety has some information on Assayas' next film, HUBRIS - his first shot in the US. It'll be "an action-packed crime thriller set against the backdrop of organized crime in Chicago in the 1970s." Oh YES PLEASE!
Assayas will write the script. "Inspired by an article by journo Hillel Levin, “Hubris” turns on a gang of thieves led by notorious mastermind John Mendell who rob a pawn shop only to discover it is a front for Chicago’s most brutal crime boss, Tony Accardo."
GAH. We'll keep a look out to see if this is the one Rob might be involved in.
Things That Make You Go Hmmmmmm: Robert Pattinson. Dior. We are ready and waiting.
Oh I can feel it....can you feel it??
Feel what you ask? DIORROB.
In the Cannes Film Festival press kit for the film All Is Lost, there was a bio for one of the cinematographers, Peter Zuccarini. In the bio, they mention he was the DP (director of photography) for a commercial directed by Romain Gavras. What commercial? Oh nothing big. Just DIOR STARRING ROBERT PATTINSON.
This director's name is not new on the lips of Rob. He mentioned Gavras and liking his work during MTV First: Cosmopolis (Click HERE and watch the last video). Rob also mentioned Gavras a year ago in the french magazine, inRockuptibles (Click HERE to read). He specifically said he loved the Justice video by Gavras called Stress. Gavras gave an interview to Interview Magazine about the video HERE.

Thing that make you go hmmmmmm: Robert Pattinson rumored to be circling a new film - Posh UDPATE3: From The Playlist:
There's no news on which character Irons will be playing in the ensemble, and we're not going to speculate. Other reports have linked a number of other erudite Brits to roles including Douglas Booth, Sam Clafin and Robert Pattinson, although the suggestion is that Pattinson in particular is being pursued but may not be interested.
Robert Pattinson — who is said to be in very early discussions. According to THR's source, "I think he's being circled more than he's circling."
UPDATE: The Film Stage and Collider have also joined the salt party, reporting on the film news:
Collider: An abundance of handsomeness could be in store for director Lone Scherfig’s (An Education) adaptation of Laura Wade‘s stage play Posh. The Daily Mail reports that Robert Pattinson, Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), Douglas Booth (Noah), and Max Irons (The Host) are all in various stages of negotiations to star in the film....No one has officially signed on yet, and Pattinson is expected to mull over the script once he wraps The Rover. As one can imagine, matching up the schedules of four up-and-comers is a bit of a logistical nightmare, so don’t set this cast lineup in stone just yet.
The Film Stage: In the sort of movement which feels like many a Tiger Beat reader’s fantasy pitch to some movie studio, The Daily Mail have been handed word that (brace yourselves) Robert Pattinson, Sam Claflin, Douglas Booth (Noah, Jupiter Ascending), and Max Irons (The Host) are circling the same project. One that they’d be in. Together....Schedules are the cause, unsurprisingly, with Pattinson (who’s only started to look this over), for example, having new movies from David Cronenberg and James Marsh eyeing production soon; Posh is expected to start up in May, so delays and / or tight maneuvering will be required. Even if they can’t land this whole contingent, a solid director and ripe story should do the creative trick.
Again.....we'll see. They're all sourcing The Daily Mail. On a fun note, be sure to check out The Film Stage post we linked. They're playing 365DoR today unbeknownst to them. ;)
Robert Pattinson is rumored to be circling another film project!
BUT....big but here...the story originated in the Daily Mail which meant....
This could be a name drop thing or it could be legit. The Playlist jumped in to talk about this, still sourcing Daily Mail, but I liked their breakdown. At least we have a little info on our radar. An excerpt including a little bit of background info on the project:
When it opened at the Royal Court Theatre in London in 2010, "Posh" helped to give a real boost to the careers of its young cast, with actors including Kit Harington ("Game Of Thrones"), Joshua McGuire ("The Hour"), Tom Mison (the upcoming "Sleepy Hollow" TV series) and David Dawson ("Luther") all having gone on to great things after the fact. "An Education" director Lone Scherfig signed on to a film adaptation recently, and it looks like we might be seeing a movie cast that's just as broad in talent, with a few rising names, and one massive one, apparently in various stages of talks to come on board.
According to the ever-on-the-money Baz Bamigboye, Max Irons, Sam Claflin and Douglas Booth are all in negotiations to star in the film, and while talks are at an earlier stage, "Twilight" megastar Robert Pattinson could potentially join them.
...
The play, and the film, revolves around a version of the Bullingdon Club, an Oxford University institution (not unlike a fraternity) which included current Prime Minister David Cameron and current Mayor of London Boris Johnson among its members, and which involves privileged idiots getting together, drinking themselves into oblivion and trashing restaurants. Wade's play focuses on the members of the Riot Club, whose meeting in a country pub ends in tragedy, and we can see all four of the actors fitting in nicely into that kind of environment.
It sounds like Pattinson's involvement is the least concrete; he's still filming David Michod's "The Rover," and he has David Cronenberg's "Maps To The Stars" and James Marsh's "Hold On To Me" nominally on his slate, though lord knows what state they're in in terms of financing. But a good piece of material, amid a strong ensemble, would be a smart move for the actor as he continues to try to escape the shadow of Edward Cullen. As Bamigboye suggests, the challenge here is going to be scheduling; the nature of the piece requires the cast to all be together round a dining table for much of the shoot, and all these guys are busy and in demand, so don't be surprise if there's mixing and matching with who sticks with the project. Filming is planned to get underway in May, so it shouldn't be too long before we find out who's able to fit it into their schedules, and "Posh" should eventually open in 2014
So take that salt and sprinkle it like rain. This isn't our first time at the film rumors rodeo *coughChild44TheProfessionalscough* We're just going to have to wait and seeeeeeeeeeeee.....just like most things with Rob *morecoughDiorcoughcough*.
Meyer adds that she hasn’t seen either of them since the last Breaking Dawn premiere, and missed their company deeply on the set of The Host. Nevertheless, she hasn’t yet felt inspired to seek out any of Pattinson’s own writing, which includes a screen adaptation of the Martin Amis novel Money – about as far removed from Twilight as it is possible to get. “No, I haven’t read his script,” she admits, sheepishly, looking surprised that I know of its existence. “I’d be interested… and a little scared.”
Click HERE to read the article in its entirety. She talks Twilight, the fame that came with the territory and calling Rob fans Robsters........??? :)
Lord only knows if or when we could see this to fruition. Our constant state of being right now is to just keep hearing/reading about RenaissanceRob and waiting to see RenaissanceRob. We'll wait for a lifetime. That's part of a ROBsessed vow, non? Must find those oaths in the DR safe. ;)
Things that make you go hmmmmm: Dior launching new mens fragrance early 2013 and we wonder if Robert Pattinson knows something about that
UPDATE: Two more things that make you go hmmmmm!
We know one of the frangrance blogs below still listed Jude Law as the face of Dior Homme -"The face of the perfume is Jude Law, photographed by Peter Lindbergh." Here's what we think. At press time, there is still no official announcement so the perfume blog goes with Jude who is the last to represent Dior Homme. We contacted the blog yesterday but are waiting on a response. I still have my money on Rob. ;)
GQ posted another Best Dressed Men list yesterday and Rob was on it. Well he's kind of always on it now. What was interesting....INTERESTING....was what they said in their blurb about Rob - "By the time you read this, everyone’s vampire of choice may be confirmed as the new face of Dior Homme."
HMMMMMMMMM!
The rumors swirling around Rob being the new face of Dior mens fragrance keep mounting up. We had the first fire started by eOnline. Click HERE to read their report that Rob signed a 3 year deal with Dior and will collect $12 million. But then The Hollywood Reporter threw some water on that fire HERE. Claimed it was still only a rumor. Rob was asked about it during BD2 promo and his poor poker face HERE started the fire back up until we got pics of him in NYC HERE filming what people said was a commercial for Dior and well....everything is blazing!
Well how about we stoke the flames and go "HMMMMMMMMM" some more?

People mag reports Robert Pattinson's night out and about at Chateau Marmont with friends
4 years ago throwback picture but it's a fave of mine. He's seh-heh-exy in it and when I read the article, this ChateauRob was what first popped in my mind even though there are a few ChateauRobs.
Rob's back in Los Angeles and it looks like he might have been spotted hanging with friends at Chateau Marmont the other night. From People.com:
With his Twilight duties behind him, Robert Pattinson enjoyed a night out with a male pal on Tuesday. The two met up at West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont, where Pattinson grabbed a table and sipped on a Stella.
Not long after their arrival, though, the men were joined by a group of six friends – including singer M.I.A., who capped off her signature eclectic look with an oversized hat.
Pattinson, in a jacket (but not his usual baseball cap), "looked happy and relaxed," a source tells PEOPLE. Though he frequently left his pals for breaks on the smoking patio, "he only paid attention to his guy friends, laughing and letting loose a little bit," the source continues. After about an hour, the whole party said goodbye and left the venue.
Rumored script summary and details for Robert Pattinson's The Rover
Our reader in a recent blog post had the opportunity to read The Rover script and shared her thoughts. There are no serious spoilers with what she shared so the comments were fun to read. Her comments are in italics:
The main script summary: Imagine the old west - but instead of the past; its an downtrodden future where it seems hope is lost and everyone is clawing and clamoring to survive. A man (Eric) making his way through a seemingly lawless wasteland runs into trouble and gets sidetracked when his classic car is stolen. He has to deal with a number of odd characters while trying to get back on course. Rey, a somewhat troubled criminal, has his own journey to travel. Their paths intersect and a sort of friendship occurs. I won't say anymore. Don't want to cause any problems. Can't wait to see what Rob does with this character.
Characters in the film: Mostly men in it. Only 2 women's speaking roles (3 if you count the old woman speaking Chinese).
Rey really is a departure from the typical Rob role and I think an excellent choice to break away from his heartthrob movie stereotype. Guys are gonna love this film!
I'm really looking forward to seeing Rob stretch his wings. After reading The Rover, I can say I'll probably be hiding my eyes for most of the film but the guys will love it. Great storyline and Rey is... well, going to be a fun part for Rob to play.
What type of movie is it: Lot of gunplay. (Guys will love it.) I wouldn't say thriller. It's a good read. And I imagine it will be a great movie.
Lead roles: Guy Pierce, if he is playing Eric, is the lead. Rey/Reynolds, the part Rob plays has the second most amount of screen time and is crucial to the movie.
Character descriptions: I remember Eric is in jeans and a tee. I think Rey and the other 3 from his gang were dressed similarly (the four of them are supposed to be Americans). They are definitely dusty and dirty. (I absolutely DO remember that Rey's shirt comes off a time or two.) The number of accents in this movie is going to be tough. Especially for English Rob who will be doing a Southern (U.S.) accent while speaking to an Aussie, surrounded by Cambodian and Mandarin Chinese. Testing his skills, indeed.
Answering the question if the future is sci-fi or more realistic: The depth of despair I felt while reading it came from realizing that this could very well be next week or next year. How easily life could be reset back to this kind of existence.
The movie continues to intrigue and mystify me. Probably because it's the one I know the least about. It's always like that, right? You're more curious about the unknown - the uncharted territory. I can't wait to see it. :)
Robert Pattinson rumored to be heading to London to shoot for the "classic and timeless" Dior
We announced yesterday that word on the street was Robert Pattinson was going to be the new face for Dior mens fragrance. Now we've got even more great info! Grazia has an update about DiorRob:
We've just heard from a reliable source that Robert is shooting the Dior campaign in London any day now (eyes peeled, ladies!). We also know it’s set to be a Moulin Rouge-style shoot in black and white. Appaz, Rob had no less than three offers on the table but chose Dior because it’s ‘classic and timeless’. Stay tuned as we bring you more details as they arrive...
GAH! Moulin-Rouge, black and white?? And no less than 3 offers on the table? We can believe that. Rob is a wanted man and rightly so.
Grazia said on their twitter that Rob is heading to London this week to shoot but I'm not sure how accurate that is with press junket activities happening for Rob at the end of the week then TV interviews next week. We'll see. Point is what he will be shooting. This is going to be goooooood ladies....
