Blast from the Past: Robert Pattinson talks about Midnight Sun

As news of a new installment of the Twilight saga is released here is a Blast from the Past: Robert Pattinson talks about Midnight Sun

Entertainment Weekly have shared information on a new Twilight installment to mark the 10th anniversary of the book. Read their article here to learn about the new book.

Stephanie has apologised that she will not be releasing Midnight Sun:
"Meyer first announced that there would be bonus content packaged as a part of the anniversary edition during the Forever Twilight Fan Festival in Forks, Wash., last month, though she acknowledges that some fans will be disappointed not to see Midnight Sun, the telling of Twilight from Edward’s perspective, included here (that manuscript has been shelved for years after an online leak). In fact, she begins her foreword with “I’m So Sorry,” blaming the decision to omit Midnight Sun on lack of time."
In honour of the news here is a blast from the past with Rob talking about how Midnight Sun informed how he played Edward.

Things that make you go hmmmm: Robert Pattinson penned a screenplay? New interview with Stephenie Meyer suggests so

PhotobucketRob's such a hot commodity. A renaissance man. An artist with boundless talents. Sure we're biased but it's the best bias to be in. ;)

Rob's affection for Martin Amis' Money is nothing new (he'd like to play John Self one day) and neither is knowing he writes more than songs. Put two and two together and you get this mention from an interviewer and Stephenie Meyer, who's promoting The Host. Excerpt from The Times (UK):
Meyer adds that she hasn’t seen either of them since the last Breaking Dawn premiere, and missed their company deeply on the set of The Host. Nevertheless, she hasn’t yet felt inspired to seek out any of Pattinson’s own writing, which includes a screen adaptation of the Martin Amis novel Money – about as far removed from Twilight as it is possible to get. “No, I haven’t read his script,” she admits, sheepishly, looking surprised that I know of its existence. “I’d be interested… and a little scared.”
Click HERE to read the article in its entirety. She talks Twilight, the fame that came with the territory and calling Rob fans Robsters........??? :)

Lord only knows if or when we could see this to fruition. Our constant state of being right now is to just keep hearing/reading about RenaissanceRob and waiting to see RenaissanceRob. We'll wait for a lifetime. That's part of a ROBsessed vow, non? Must find those oaths in the DR safe. ;)

Thanks for the heads up, Calihi!

MTV: Meanwhile Robert Pattinson has been describing the vampire sex in the film as "ridiculous" in recent interviews.
(Kate: Well we all know that's NOT actually what he said and thankfully so does Stephenie)

Meyer: Yeah I saw that. I think he was talking about how it was so hard to keep a straight face [during that scene]. (Kate: EXACTLY) For the actors, there are 40 people in the room and most of them are inches away from you. It's a kind of awkward menage-a-forty going on. I think when you see the scene it's a testament to their acting ability that you don't see any of that in that moment at all.

Quick excerpt from the Rob interview:
Did the Cosmopolis experience change you?
Just getting that part changes you a lot, and not having to force anything to play it. I can’t believe that I haven’t done a film since then. It’s ridiculous. It’s making me a bit crazy.
How long have you not been working?
Practically a year, but in that time I’ve had to promote like four films [laughs hysterically], which is also ridiculous. I feel like that’s my whole job because it’s all I do. Before, I thought having a Twilight movie after every project would make me be less afraid. But, as soon as this is over, you realize that it’s not easy to make decisions. I think, in part, it has to do with the fact that I’m getting older. Now I can do different things, I start to fit into different roles and, of course, I can’t play a high school student [laugs].
So it hasn’t been an intentional pause…
There was a while where I couldn’t find anything at all. And, suddenly, a few months ago, I found a bunch of things, all at once. But none of those projects started until the fall. Fall, spring and summer are full, four movies at once, but it’s taken me a long time to be able to organize it. I really want to start working again.
Mission: Blacklist, which is about the US soldier whose interrogations led to finding Saddam Hussein, is actually your next project…
I think so. The director’s in Iraq, staying in the same palace where the guy we’re making the movie about stayed. He’s sending me pictures. It’s crazy. We’d like to film in Iraq, but it’s going to be very difficult because of safety. I wonder if Afghanistan would make a good Iraq double [laughs].
Is writing something that attracts your attention? What kind of books would you like to be the author of?
Surely something like ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ [laughs hysterically]. I would really like to do that and invert the roles: making the woman the one who punishes the man. It’d be so much fun. Something like ‘Misery’, but really he loves to be in that situation.

Stephenie Meyer On Robert Pattinson & The "Burrrrth" Scene

Stephenie Meyer spoke to MTV about Robert Pattinson & how he nailed The "Burrrrth" Scene (everytime I hear "Birth Scene" that's the way it sounds in my head ;-})

Stephenie Meyer recalls filming the climactic birth scene. Watch the behind-the-scenes clip of Edward (Robert Pattinson) trying to revive Bella (Kristen Stewart) as Stephenie explains:

"He was really able to touch the human emotions of that scene. Rob really nailed it," Stephenie recalled. "It was really powerful. I teared up, several people near me did. It was just a lump in your throat—that moment of thinking you've lost everything and not being able to accept it. It was really emotional."

Yet, as fraught as that life-or-death moment was, we can't help but smile at the quick shot of director Bill Condon fist-pumping when Rob nailed it. Very sweet.

Robert Pattinson "You Can’t Fade To Black In The Movie"

I'm glad Robert Pattinson (as well as everyone involved with "Breaking Dawn" realised that fading to black was NOT an option in the movie.
Here he talks to Total Film about Stephenie Meyer not only thinking outside the box but breaking it!

When we sat down to talk about The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 with star Robert Pattinson, we naturally brought attention to the elephant in the room: the hotly debated sex scenes.

Those marital relations have some pretty severe consequences too, with Bella becoming pregnant with a half vampire-half human child. Turns out we weren’t the only ones a little taken aback by this turn of events.

“When the final book came out, I was like ‘She’s not even thinking outside the box anymore. She’s broken the whole box!'” Pattinson told us.

“She went all out on the last one. It’s almost a different genre of movie.”

So, was Pattinson daunted by the prospect of the sex scenes? “It’s funny,” he added. “People talk about sex scenes in the book, but there aren’t actually any. It’s all in people’s imagination. They’re like ‘It’s so hardcore,’ but it always fades to black. It just shows bits of the aftermath.”

Not that that filmmakers will be taking that approach. “You have to show something!” Pattinson asserts.

“You can’t fade to black in the movie because people would go insane!

“It’s strange trying to do a singular event which everyone is expecting. At the end of the day, watching other people having sex is never going to be that spectacular. Hopefully it’ll be good. There’s so much hype. You’re like ‘God, I hope this lives up to it.’”

The saucy scenes are the least of Pattinson’s worries though, with the fang-to-placenta caesarean causing a much weightier concern. “It was horrible,” he admitted.

“Insanely graphic and the most nerve-racking thing about the whole shoot.”

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 opens on 18 November 2011.

New/Old picture of Robert Pattinson + Kristen Stewart mentions Rob in Glamour magazine

Kristen Stewart is on the November 2011 cover of Glamour magazine. In the issue, there's a new, behind-the-scenes photo of Robert Pattinson, Stephenie Meyer, Kristen, and Taylor Lautner during Eclipse filming. You can tell the scene was when Jacob delivered Bella to the mountain top where Edward and the tent were waiting.

Stephenie and her infamous characters. :)

In the interview, conducted by Meyer, Kristen also mentioned Rob briefly:
SM: I remember when we were shooting the wedding scene in Breaking Dawn-I was losing it because we were so sleep-deprived at that point.
KS: Yeah, the last night...I was exhausted, and it's funny, Rob (Pattinson) was actually way more energetic than I was at the end of it.

SM: It must be hard to concentrate on your performance when you're so worried about the sound of your voice.
KS: It's weird...Especially considering that I've recently had so much experience speaking the way that I speak. Because this is how Bella talks.

SM: Can you imagine how miserable you would have been? Now I feel kind of guilty, because that's exactly what we made Rob do.
KS: Yeah, actually, that's true. Completely. (laughs).

SM: How long did you have off after Breaking Dawn?
KS: It doesn't feel like I've had any time off. I should have just gone home and relaxed.

SM: It took a while before I could kind of step back and say, OK, it's over [laughs]. It's a long time to do one thing!
KS: And the experience of watching is always so strange. I watched this one with Taylor [Lautner] for the first time. It was really fun.

SM: Who can not like Taylor?
KS: No! I mean definitely! And it's fun to watch it with him because we actually sit and watch it. Me and Taylor are actual Twilight fans, so we can sit there and be totally into it! Whereas I sit there with Rob...he likes it, but he has just a different energy.

SM: Oh, Rob and Taylor have completely different energy! Watching it with Taylor, you feel afraid that you'll get ice down the back of your neck or a grape in your face.
KS: Totally.

Stephenie Meyer talks Robert Pattinson, Breaking Dawn, and Midnight Sun to USA Today

Photobucket

I'm picking this picture because this is how I feel anytime I read about Midnight Sun and it's indefinite completion.

Speaking with USA Today, Stephenie Meyer discussed Robert Pattinson, Edward & Bella, and the Cullens:

•On the illustrated guide: "My favorite part is the vampire histories. There's a lot there that's new. Alice's (Cullen) back story is one no one has known until now. And I think fans will be surprised at how much fun (Cullen nemesis) Victoria's story is." (Tink: I'm intrigued by this. How can you not be when you're a fanfic addict?)

•On whether she'll ever write more books about Edward and Bella: "The story's already been told, and I doubt I'll ever write another series based on the same characters." (Tink: Ha! Their story is never over. Haw can it be when you're a fanfic addict?)

•On the possibility she'd ever finish Midnight Sun, a Twilight novel told from Edward's viewpoint that she nixed when parts of it were leaked online in 2008: "I'm hoping to do it someday because I know that's what people want. No matter what book I put out from here to eternity they'll want Midnight Sun, but I'm just not writing about vampires right now." (Tink: This causes me much angst. More angst than I should have over a fictional character. How can you not have angst over Meyer's take, the original take, on Edward when you're a fanfic addict?)

•The much-anticipated wedding of Edward and Bella has not been filmed yet, but Stewart is being fitted for the as-yet-unrevealed bridal gown. "It's such an interesting mix," says Meyer. "It has a vintage feel, but at the same time, there's an edge to it. It's really beautiful. And then on Kristen — oh, she looks amazing in clothes —and in that dress she's so lithe and unbelievable." (Tink: the dress better be good. I can't wait to see Edward's face when he sees Bella in the dress. I wanna swoon. How can you not wanna swoon when you're a fanfic addict?)

•On working with Pattinson and Lautner: "Rob is more like Jacob than Edward. He's goofy, he's funny, he doesn't take much seriously. But he can turn Edward on like that (she snaps her fingers) when he needs to be Edward. Taylor's who we hang out with most. He's a lot like fun, happy Jacob." (Tink: Rob is love.)

•On the filming of the birth of Bella and Edward's baby, Renesmee, which in the novel is frightening and horrific, she says, "I've only seen a rough cut and there are pieces missing, but I don't feel like it's graphic. You're not seeing it, but you know what's happened. It's emotional. It doesn't feel horror-ish. There's blood, probably the most blood we've ever seen in the series. But everything's in flux; we'll see in the final cut." (Tink: this is weird. Rob says its a horror movie. Stephenie says no. I'm down with whatever. How can you not be when you're a fanfic addict?)

Round-up Of "Breaking Dawn" Filming Updates From Yesterday

New Pic of Isle Esme yesterday with the window blocked off and a security boat keeping watch

Photobucket

So you may or may not have been keeping track on twitter of what was going down in Rio with the "Breaking Dawn" Filming yesterday.

So just in case you missed anything here's a round-up.

Filming at Isle Esme started around 10:30 am with scenes being shot inside the house. The scenes weren't shot in order (which is not unusual). So they filmed the morning after scenes first (bruises and phone call) and the hot and steamy scenes were being shot later on that night.

There was only a few people on the set. Rob, Kristen, about 2 or 3 cameramen and Bill.
It hasn't been confirmed if Steph was there or not but it has been "rumoured" that she was present at the filming of the bedroom scenes (You better give me what I've been waiting for Steph) Hands up who wants to be Steph for a day? In particular yesterday? Imagine seeing that first hand........Oh God I don't think I could stay quiet watching. I'd probably be biting my tongue.

Anyway back on track...........

Then they moved onto the beach where "according" to a fan there, Kristen recorded the waterfall scene in a white bikini and shorts.
"Rumour" also has it that it was Steph's idea that Kristen wear shorts over her swimsuit for that scene! (WTF Steph ??)

There was a boat full of papz at the island pointing to the house where they were staying (the production house), not the house that they were filming at, although as you can see from the photo above they didn't have much chance of getting any pics as the house was bocked off and there was a security boat on patrol. (We should have sent them some underwater diving gear so they could get up close and personal)

The water sex scene wrapped at 1am. (God what I wouldn't give for some pics!) Bill Condon was very happy.
Filming should wrap today just a few details left to shoot.

It's said that Rob and Kristen are to leave Brazil Saturday

So there you have it, you're all up to date now with what went on in Rio yesterday!

Mackenzie Foy, who as you know, is playing Renesmee celebrated her birthday yesterday which is a bit strange seeing as they were busy filming Renesmee's "creation" scene!

Stephenie Choked Up By Cast's Performance on New Moon

From the mouth of the Holy Stephenie Meyer (I love her, so sue me!):

I am not being sued. No one has contacted me or my publisher to inform either of us that I'm being sued. I never had a roommate named Heidi. There is no professor in the BYU English department named Dr. Peter Benton (though there is a character on ER by that name). And most of all, I began writing Twilight exactly the way I've told people in countless interviews and events for the past six years: I had a cool dream, I wrote it down, writing it down was really fun, so I kept writing until I had a whole book.

The sad thing about this silly situation is that so many legitimate news outlets reported it without doing any research at all to determine if there was any truth to the story. And at least two of these facts are really, really easy to confirm. Particularly, the one about the BYU professor. A simple on-line search can give you that information. Also, a quick call to my publisher would have cleared up the whole lawsuit story. (Kudos to the fansites who did their due diligence and debunked this rumor days ago.) (Gozde: Oh Steph, you are so sweet, don't mention it!:))

I guess the moral of the story is that—big surprise—you can't believe everything you read on the internet. Seems like it's April Fool's Day every day on-line. So no worries, the filming of New Moon continues uninterrupted. And, to end this on a bright note, the filming of New Moon continues to be awesome. It's all so beautiful! Chris Weitz is brilliant. Kristen, Rob, and Taylor are beyond words. I have gotten choked up more than once on set due to their amazing performances. I can't wait to see it all put together!

Steph

And what better time to recycle the moviefone interviews :)

Thanks to Greenie for the tip :)

Stephenie Meyer NOT Sued, New Moon NOT Halted

A rumor originated form a website 2 days ago saying Stephenie Meyer(she of the Divine Goddesses:)) was sued by an old college roommate for plagiarism. The whole thing was too funny and smelled so fake that we didn't even post it but someone just sent me this link and the bogus story is on UK Yahoo! News! Does anybody do their jobs anymore? Seriously!

NO, Stephenie Meyer(the HOLY) is not sued for plagiarism and NO New Moon Production is not halted. Official statement from Summit via Twilight Lexicon:

There is absolutely no truth to the rumor about any interruption to the filming of NEW MOON. The production of the film has not been stalled or interrupted in any way and filming continues as planned. Additionally, after consulting with Stephenie Meyer and her publishers, speculation about any claims of plagiarism are also completely not true. This is a hoax, pure and simple. The internet for all of its assets can still be an easy breeding ground for such hoaxes and detractors, and we hope that people will not be duped so easily, and use appropriate diligence before perpetuating everything or anyone that claims to have information about the TWILIGHT franchise.
