King Robert's Reign Was Short Lived - Robert Pattinson NOT Playing Arthur In ‘Pendragon’

So last night we told you about a new rumoured role that had been offered to Robert Pattinson and we told you we'd update if we heard anymore about it.
We also told you to take it with a bucket of salt.

Well Gossip Cop looked into it and Rob will NOT be playing King Arthur.

Robert Pattinson is the subject of a new casting rumor that claims he’s slated to play King Arthur in Pendragon.

Outlets like HollywoodLife quickly circulated the report, saying Pattinson’s “allegedly been tapped to play the lead” in the Camelot reboot and describing it as “a historical epic similar in tone to Kristen Stewart’s Snow White and the Huntsman!”

“We’re sure K-Stew… could give her boyfriend a few pointers about how to shoot a medieval epic!” shrieks the site, which apparently believes that any old tales turned into Disney cartoons at some point are practically the same thing.

Unfortunately for HollywoodLife (as well as Pattinson fans eager for post-Cosmopolis project news), there’s no truth to the Pendragon rumor.

A source close to Pattinson tells Gossip Cop the story is “inaccurate.”

"Bel Ami" At The Berlin Film Festival In 2012?

Following on from what we were saying yesterday about the possibility Robert Pattinson's "Bel Ami" premiering at the Berlin film festival early next year, it looks like the film sites are carrying this "rumour" too.

Let's hope there's some truth in it and we will FINALLY get to see this!

Based on the book by Guy de Maupassant and featuring Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Christina Ricci, “Bel Ami” will find Pattinson playing George Duroy, a sexy social climber in turn-of-the-century 1890s Paris, who seduces his way to wealth and fame from a poor beginning. Thurman will play the wife of one of Duroy’s friends who eventually marries Pattinson’s seductive schemer. Kristin Scott Thomas will appear as a woman who overestimates Duroy’s attachment to her. These pics show Pattinson easily proving his manhood with the female leads, but whether the film is a winner or not, we won’t know for a while yet. (Kate: Oh I think we already know it's gonna be a winner)

From what we hear, the producers are aiming for a Berlin Film Festival premiere in 2012 and it might be a while later before it hits theaters as the film is still without a distributor. Could This Possibly Be The US Release Date For Robert Pattinson's "Water For Elephants" DVD ?

Is it possible that there is finally a date for the release of Robert Pattinson's "Water For Elephants" DVD is the US?

According to a tweet sent by one of the followers of RobPattzNews yesterday the release date might be September 13th. Melissa spotted the sign below at an an FYE

If true it would mean the UK will have it before the US as the official release date for the UK is Sept 5th.

I'm putting RUMOUR on this because as you know there's STILL no official confirmation that Robert Pattinson is going to be at Comic Con BUT Levi Dailey tweeted this a while ago (make of it what you will)











John Boone reporter from E! has been the only one so far to tweet names of who will be attending the Press Conference, so is this confirmation of Rob?
I guess we'll just have to wait a little bit longer to find out for sure.

“R-Patz And Blair Waldorf Are Shacking Up?” asks a clueless Perez Hilton, who goes on to write, “Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester has apparently been shacking up with our beloved Robert Pattinson!”

Perez, who calls Meester a “sneaky little maneater,” claims “sources have spotted RPatz entering Meester’s NYC apartment, and we’re guessing he made that good girl go bad all night long, because our boo didn’t leave until the next morning!!”

Would these be the same “sources” who told him Fidel Castro is dead and Jaclyn Smith shot herself in the head?

According to a magical spy Perez cites, Pattinson “ducked out of the building and hopped into a waiting car. He apparently spent the night with Leighton, and didn’t want anyone to know… She talks with Rob almost daily.”

In a misguided cheap shot at Kristen Stewart, the bad blogger then says, “SURE KStew is going to be EXTRA SOUR when she reads this.”

Actually the only thing sour is Perez’s “reporting.”

A source close to Meester assures Gossip Cop this tale is untrue.

“Robert Pattinson has forgotten where he came from!” claims Perez Hilton, who bases his latest misfire on Star magazine “reporting.”

According to Perez and Star (aka “Dumb & Dumber”), Pattinson’s aunt says the actor “is no longer talking to his family,” and hasn’t spent time with them in a while.

Hmm…

Besides the fact that Pattinson has jumped from production to promotion to production for months on end, the story’s premise is patently untrue.

How about the time Pattinson brought his family to the taping of “Ellen”?

How about the time Pattinson spent with his clan around New Year’s in London?

How about the time Pattinson went to a concert at which his sister Lizzie performed?

How about the time Pattinson was with his two sisters, mom and uncle at “The View”?

How about the time Pattinson hung with his mom – which Gossip Cop witnessed – at the Remember Me premiere?

Perez quotes Pattinson’s aunt as saying, ”It looks like we’re being frozen out.”

Looks like that’s only the case for people who talk to tabs.

OK, “Twilight” fans, the question is this: Will you be packing your bags for Italy?

The Internet has been buzzing for a day with different rumors about unseen “New Moon” footage possibly being screened at the International Rome Film Festival in October. Many fan sites have speculated about what would be shown, how much would be shown, who would be there, and when.

Summit Entertainment came to Gossip Cop with answers:

- There will be an event on October 22 at the Rome Film Festival like there was last year, and Summit “will show ‘used’/repackaged footage like the Comic-Con pieces and on set b roll.”

- “There will probably be one ‘new’ scene [to be determined] just prior to talent introductions and audience Q&A, but will be a few minutes at most.”

- The spokesperson went on to say that Summit is “still discussing specifics internally,” and “will have more details in the coming days.”

- As for who will be there? “It looks like Melissa Rosenberg, Cameron Bright, Jamie Campbell Bower, and Charlie Bewley will be in attendance.”

So that’s what we {Gossip Cop} know.
