Carter Burwell Talks Piano Playing Robert Pattinson & Gets Me All Hot & Bothered
Carter Burwell (composer for Twilight) was interviewed by Sag Harbor Online. He spoke about working on "Breaking Dawn Part 2" and mentioned working with Robert Pattinson
*sigh* I love this pic
At what point in the filming process will you come onboard? Is the film usually finished by the time you see it and set the score?
Generally, I don’t actually write anything until a film has actually been shot. But, there are some exceptions.
In the movie I’m working on right now, which is “Breaking Dawn: Part II,” they needed Rob Pattinson and the actress who plays his daughter to play piano onscreen. I had to write this duet before they shot the film so they could actually learn the parts. Rob is a musician, so he prides himself on working out the fingering for these correctly.
Source sagharboronline.com via gossip-dance
And of course reading that get me all kinds of excited. I love seeing Rob play the piano (you guys know why!! )
STARES *Gah* snaps back to reality........
Anyway that brings me back to this video (any excuse to watch it again!)
Enjoy the talents of Mr Pattinson (and the pouty lips, the fingers and the downright gorgeousness)
Who else could just listen to him play piano FOREVER. This is one part of "Breaking Dawn Part 2" that I'm SUPER excited about!!

We certainly can't wait for the revival of this...
While the above piece is Rob's own composition, Carter Burwell has composed a new lullaby for Renesmee that Rob will play in Breaking Dawn Part 2. Burwell spoke at length to Sonic Scoop and here is the excerpt regarding Rob:

Cool. What about the fact that Breaking Dawn is a two-parter? Knowing you’re also going to be scoring Part II, does where the story goes from here enter into the picture at all for you? When you’re thinking of these themes?Check out the whole article at the source!
Well, I’ve read the script, but I haven’t seen any of Part II yet. But I did have to write a theme that Edward plays on camera in Part II. Bill wanted to echo the “Bella’s Lullaby” scene from the first Twilight in the last part, and so I had to write a lullaby for that well in advance so Rob Pattinson could learn the fingering – he’s a musician and prides himself on being able to do that.

How easy was it for Robert Pattinson to tickle the ivories?
Back in February, Carter Burwell confirmed that Robert Pattinson would be playing the piano in Breaking Dawn Part 2. In addition to twitter, Mr. Burwell also shared this news on his official website:
The old news is popping up again and got a fan to ask Jack Morrissey about the information. I like what he had to say ;)
GAH, Jack, GAH! It doesn't surprise me that Rob picked it up quickly because we all know Rob is a wonderful, talented musician. It only kills me that we have over a year before we hear the piece and see the swoony Daddyward moment.
Update: Rob's mention of playing the piano from the MTV Rough Cuts back in March (WFE promo)
Until then...let's enjoy our only glimpse of Rob the pianist playing his own composition.

- Just wrote "Renesmee's Lullaby" for Twilight Breaking Dawn 2, which Rob Pattinson will play on camera. The film will be released in November 2012.

- RE Rob playing Renesmee's Lullaby: This is correct. On the piano, with his daughter beside him obviously. Rob actually picked it up really quickly.

*NEW* Photo From The "Vanity Fair" Photoshoot - Robert Pattinson Sings The Blues
I'm so greedy, I'm not happy with a new Robert Pattinson Pic from the "Vanity Fair" photoshoot I want video! I want to HEAR him sing.I need to hear him sing. I know, I'm so demanding!
Patience is a virtue, right? But you better not be teasing me with this pic and then say there's no video!
Sing us a song, piano man—let’s start with “Happy Birthday.” New Orleans’s Preservation Hall—where Annie Leibovitz shot young Robert Pattinson, shown tickling the ol’ 88 with the world-famous Preservation Hall band—celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Situated in the French Quarter, the music venue is one of the country’s most hallowed: it was founded in 1961 for the purpose of preserving New Orleans–style jazz, and indigenous American music. On his first-ever visit to the Quarter, Pattinson jammed with the house band and thoroughly held his own—his celebrity perhaps subsumed by that of the musicians, whose legendary status awed everyone on set. “When we first started, none of us knew that Robert really does play piano,” says Ben Jaffe, the tuba player (center, above), the band’s director, and the son of the venue’s founders. “But when he got up there, he started ticking out these notes, and it was obvious he wasn’t just tinkling—he really knew how to play.” Though the musicians were expecting the actor to just pose, Pattinson gamely jammed along with their tunes. After finishing a song, he leaned over to Jaffe “and said, ‘That’s the first time I’ve played with a group of guys like that,’” Jaffe recalls. Not a shabby gig—especially with Jaffe’s homemade red beans and rice waiting as reward.
On the landmark birthday, Jaffe says he and the rest of the band are humbled: “It’s really momentous for us to reach this moment in our history, considering everything New Orleans has been through in the last five years,” he says. “It’s really a testament to the strength of the people of this city.” Preservation Hall endured a several-month hiatus post-Katrina and reopened in May 2006, structure miraculously intact. We say miraculously, because the hall’s charm is that it looks as though it might collapse at any moment—it’s one big happy jalopy of a 350-year-old structure, with all the glorious paint-peel-y, rusty-hinged patina of a Clementine Hunter painting. It strains at the seams with ambiance. And we hope, lack of air conditioning and all, that it never changes.

In the Cullen living room there is a piano. It's always occupied by Rob or myself. Just kinda sitting down and plinking out the keys. Rob is actually a fantastic pianist and guitar player and singer. Here's video of Jackson's interview with MTV's The Seven...around 1:29. The whole interview has some Breaking Dawn goodies as well.

Robert Pattinson will play the piano in Breaking Dawn
I don't know what to say. My mind is flooded.
Carter Burwell tweeted:
And from his official website:
And he just wrote "Renesmee's Lullaby" for Twilight Breaking Dawn 2, which Rob Pattinson will play on camera. The film will be released in November 2012.
Robert Pattinson will play for us once again. This kills me. I have no words other than that.
Rob wants us to weep.

Robert Pattinson wallpapers: Making You The Love in photoshoots volume 7
Robert Pattinson must be under a witness protection program because he is MIA in a big way. It's great that he's not being harassed but let's not fool ourselves. Droughts are tough. Thank goodness we have creative readers who like to play with Rob ;)
Here are a few gorgeous wallpapers by Marina H. to help with this "dry spell". My theme today is celebrating some of Rob's photoshoots.
I LOVE this shot of him and was even MORE thrilled when the Vogue shoot came out in HQ. Look at that swagger! Love the way he walks...
This shot is also a favorite of mine. Who DOESN'T swoon out of their chair at the thought of Rob playing the piano (or doing anything musical for that matter)? Why doesn't he make a movie about a piano player? I'd die instantly. Kate gave us a great flashback post from the stunning Vanity Fair shoot.
This photoshoot is hmmmm....well....just look at the beautiful man in that leather jacket and snug, thigh-hugging jeans...and that wand.
Marina also designed a couple of Cosmopolis themed wallpapers for Cosmopolis Film blog. If you've read the book, you'll understand the tone...

These look to be some new pictures, so hopefully someone can come through for the Rob sites with some good scans. Regardless these are swoon worthy.
Thanks to the lovely and adorable Suz for sending me the link to the scans.
