Robert Pattinson talks self doubts, bleeding eyelids and making a convincing Bradley Cooper bodyguard
We are SO at risk of being lost in translation....this is a Google translation into English of a French translation of a German translation that was translated from English.....

From Skip magazine (Austria):
"My eyelids bleed!"
It's not always easy for Robert Pattinson: stress is on him! In Cannes, he presented the drama Good Time and he told us that he knew how to manage his anxiety.
SKIP: How did it turn out with two directors?
Robert Pattinson: Difficult! The two competed all the time (laughs). It was quite restless. If two people speak constantly at the same time, it is sometimes quite perplexing.
Your roles are becoming more unusual - what are you looking for?
I do not know, I only know that I'm looking for something that is not predictable. I like a script in which I still do not know where the story goes on page 5. And I do not remember the last mainstream movie I saw and where I said "Wow !!" Although I like to watch a lot of superhero movies.
Would you like to?
I think it's more for people who are convinced that they can save the world. I am rather the opposite. (Laughter).
Do you sometimes want to just sit comfortably in the sun? You could do that ...
Oh I really spend enough time sitting down and doing nothing, do not worry! In fact, most of the time, when you look at it well. (Laughs) But I really like to turn, even if it's always a challenge. Every time I start a new film, I say to myself "My God, what am I doing here, I do not understand anything, I'm an idiot!" It's like climbing a big mountain. And the hardest thing for me is to convince myself that I can do it.
Have you always doubted you?
Oh yes, of course. And the older I get, the worse it is. But I do not see it as a scourge, it's just the opposite. I manage it. Even though it's when I go to an event that has a big impact, because I immediately imagine the worst-case scenario. Before Cannes, I was so nervous because I was always wondering what catastrophes might happen. Eventually, I made such an allergic reaction due to the stress that the skin of my eyelids rose. The day before the first there was even blood. What a look (laughs).
When can you relax? After the first?
Yes, maybe for 5 minutes (laughs). Then I immediately start looking for the bad reviews of the film.
You have a look that has nothing glamorous in Good Time, really normal ...
It was important because we filmed a lot in the street and with amateur actors. And we wanted to go everywhere, without people noticing what we were doing. It was fascinating to see how you can become so invisible. In a scene I play a security guard and apparently I was very convincing. I climbed into the elevator with a resident of the apartments who knew that a film was turning there. And he looked straight at me and asked, "Hey, are you Bradley Cooper's bodyguard?" (Laughter).
Does this mean that all the hype around Twilight is finally over?
I do not know, I find that these films are still in the minds of people and that my other performances are still compared. I never felt that it was a burden I had to get rid of.
Not too bad. We've had worse translation situations. The French translation had to be good for us to get an understandable English translation out of it - and from Google no less! Plus, if you can read German, you're in luck. Just click the scans above and you're only one part removed from the first translation. LOL

Honestly Robert Pattinson, do fame and success drive you crazy sometimes?via In The Footsteps of Rob
Robert Pattinson ate a 'curry wurst' for lunch. That is the first thing he tells me after our 'hello' during our interview in Berlin. He pronounces it adorably 'Denglish Corrywuscht'. "I had French fries with it, but only five", he tells me grinning. "I'm trying to eat more healthy." He doesn't need it though: slightly tanned, the biggest thing about him is his beard, which, like his messy gelled hair, is very groomed. Ever since he played vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga, he is the most sought after blood sucker in the world. The tabloids like to describe him as shy, but here he is smiling non stop, like a rascal planning his next prank. Maybe he is happy that the 'blockbuster' times are over. Ever since the fifth and last Twilight movie came out three years ago he wasn't part of huge commercial Hollywood productions. Independent movies are now his thing. Like the ingenious biopic Life in which he plays the photographer Dennis Stock. He took pictures of James Dean for the US magazine Life in 1955, shortly before Dean died and made him immortal with his pictures. Fame and immortality are not strange concepts for Robert Pattinson, right?
Mr. Pattinson when was the first time you felt you were famous?
That was six months before the second Twilight movie came out. A PR guy invites me to a hip party in a club in LA. I forgot the name of the guy standing at the door waiting to be let in. The doorman just looked at me and said: "It's okay, you can go in." I was like "what?" Until then I never got into the clubs that easily. Shortly after that came the hot dog incident.
Tell me about that.
Well, I was eating a hot dog and dropped mustard on my shirt. Usually that would have made me uncomfortable, but everyone around me said "hey, that's totally okay", it was like I did something amazing . That's when I knew: I can do whatever I want.
Being famous can be confusing then?
Yes, but only in one aspect: I don't like to draw attention to myself, but I can't walk around without being recognized. If people would say a quick "hello", it would be fine, but every second person wants to do a selfie. That means I always have to be in a good mood.
Is there a question apart from the picture question, you can't hear anymore?
"I know you will hate it, but.......... "
Who says something like that?
Everyone. Especially back then. During Twilight a lot of people were pulling me about and telling me who I am. I didn't know who I was myself and honestly I still don't know who I am. But I wanted to have the chance to find that out by myself.
How did you not go crazy with the huge hysteria that came with Twilight?
Maybe becauseI never wanted to become famous. I'm satisfied with small things. The more famous I got, the more I wanted to hide. I was irritated by the hype. The climax of that was in the Munich OlympiaHalle: 3000 fans were cheering when I was answering a question. It's much better now. The Twilight fans got older and it's a lot more relaxed now.
Does an ex vampire go into the sun?
Yes. But I'm one of those idiots that puts on sunscreen with SPF factor 50 on the first day and then on the second day wonders "hey, I didn't get a tan. Let's take SPF 5." That means on every single holiday I get sunburn. It's good that I stayed in London for a while. It can't happen here.
Is London a safe haven for you like Marion, Indiana was for James Dean?
London is home for me. I have been living in LA for six years and didn't go to Great Britain for some time. During my last stay in London I realized how much I missed it. But it's more the people that give me the feeling of home and not really the places.
In Life you play the photographer that made James Dean a legend. James Dean died when he was 24 years old so you survived him by five years....
You won't believe how many of my friends wrote this message to me on my 28th birthday "happy birthday. You are still alive." Me: "Did you think I would be dead by now?" Them: "Yes." Kurt Cobain, Jimmy Hendrix and Amy Winehouse, they all died when they were 27.
Do you go to celebrity doctors for your check ups?
No. I went to a dentist in LA who was well know in celebrity circles. There was a techno music playing in the practice. He was telling me about all the people that come to him. The weirdest thing was: he wasn't wearing gloves for the treatment. I was laying there shocked thinking "do you think you are so cool that you don't need gloves?" Nasty, I didn't go there again.
Did you become weird?
I always have been weird. As soon as I have to talk to more than one person, it gets difficult. Having to do small talk at an event is hell for me. The crazy thing is that most people think that the more famous you get the more confident you are. I learned something about that playing a photographer: a camera around your neck will give you security. With it you get a reason to go to certain places or talk to people. I think I will carry a camera around with me from now on.
This is a reader's question: What is the best part about being a celebrity?
That I can choose my roles and that I can go around the queue at the airport. That is the best by far and I don't want to miss it.

Interview Translation:
Robert Pattinson: The best and the worst of being famous
Q: Do you think people really know who Robert Pattinson is when they see your movies?
R: I don’t think people really know who I am. And it’s something good. I think that my personality has very little to do with the places people imagine. In order to overcome that my image is saturated everywhere, the best way is to do an interview where I can contradict completely everything they say about me and behave like a completely different person (laughs)
Q: Has anyone ever mistaken you with another actor?
R: Once I was at Comic Con and a journalist thought I had worked in the movie “Snow White”. It was very funny. There were other five journalists there and she kept asking me what it felt to be Prince Charming. I told her she was wrong and even though I kept correcting her she kept refusing to accept that I had done another movie that was not “Snow White”... just because Kristen Stewart was the female lead (laughs)
Q: If you could be another Hollywood star, your age... Who would you pick?
R: James Franco, as an example. He is incredible, for everything he has achieved with his public image. People believe what he does. He is incredible. You see him from a totally different perspective. And I think that it is because all actors have to deal with this kind of mixture between the public’s perception and your characters, because people see us through the eyes of our life and our movies.

"I wanted it to be as elemental and as brutal as Heart Of Darkness is, " says David Michod of The Rover.
Aiming high is always commendable, but given that Michod's debut was the brilliant Animal Kingdom, there's every chance that he'll succeed with this post-apocalyptic drama.
Essentially a two-hander, it takes place in an Australia that's been ravaged following an economic collapse. When Eric (Guy Pearce) has his car stolen by a group of thugs, he takes one of the gang (Robert Pattinson's Rey) hostage and embarks on a quest to get his car back.
So it's about cars, revenge and death in the outback, then.
None more mad, none more Max? "It's really different," says producer Liz Watts. "Mad Max has that much more heightened world and look - it's much more about the cars, the instruments of the action. This films more about the characters. There's a manipulation happening between the older, really damaged man and the younger, naive, symbolic-of-still-having-hope character."
Pearce - who worked with Michod on Animal Kingdom - and Pattinson both leapt at the chance to get their hands dirty in the Outback (the film shot in Marree, where the Inbetweeners pitched up on page 12), with the latter leaving his R-Pattz persona further behind.
"There are very few scripts that have any kind of originality in them at all" says Pattinson, who had to audition for the role. "It's so sparse, it's got very, very few characters and their relationships are extremely odd. It's almost like sci-fi."
Pearce admits to having being impressed by Pattinson's chops. "I can't say I'm a Twilighter'" he laughs, "but I've had moments of watching the dailies going 'Jesus, he's great'. To play this fucked-up little dude. I just applauded him every day, quietly to myself."
