Robert Pattinson has revealed a new single in collaboration with the Nottingham band tindersticks. You can hear the track ‘Willow’ below, which comes from the soundtrack of High Life, a new movie starring the former Twilight and Harry Potter actor.
The smooth, orchestral track is set to be released as a standalone 7″ single for this year’s Record Store Day on April 13. The full soundtrack, overseen by tindersticks’ Stuart A. Staples, is out on April 5.
Staples describes ‘Willow’ as “a seed of a song shared by myself and [tindersticks bassist] Dan McKinna that eventually grew to be the conclusion of High Life with Robert Pattinson, the lead actor, singing the song in character to his daughter Willow, a theme that runs through the film.”
365 Days of Robert Pattinson: December 17th ~ Fave Rob Song
What can we say about Rob's music? We love it, and live in hope that we'll hear more of it in the future. Until then though, thank God there IS actually some of his music out there which leads us onto today's topic "Fave Rob Song". I've been looking forward to this one.
We've gone for some classic oldies today but let us know what your favourites are by leaving the links in the comments below.
And now grab a cuppa, relax and have a listen to what we picked out for you ;)
Tink "i’m going with Let Me Sign. it was the song that first made me notice
Rob’s voice. when i watched Twilight, i didn’t know Rob had contributed
music let alone could sing or play instruments. Never Think is beautiful
but it’s played low in the film. i was paying attention to the scene
more than listening to the background music. it didn’t resonate upon my
first viewing of Twilight. however, Let Me Sign came on and the intent
of the scene/montage was for you to actually hear the music and hear
that gorgeously aching voice. when he sang, “i will wrap you in my
arms…” i just about died. i will never forget it. it was a jolt to the
heart and so beautiful. i said to myself, “i need to look up that song
when I’m done watching this movie and see who’s singing.” imagine my
surprise. that was the start of my love for Rob’s music and helped
launch me down a road to Robsession. "
Kate
"SUCH a difficult choice but I’m going with this classic!"
Kat
"Whoah… this one was difficult… aside from his karaoke duet with Katy
Perry, this has always been a favourite. Tingles down your spine good…"

UPDATE: Added Glamour Print Mag Scans (bottom of the post)Also includes a bigger version of that new DiorRob Promo pic (and they didn't flip it ;-)) UPDATE: Added You Tube below *NEW* Glamour Italy Talk With Robert Pattinson (Interview & Audio)
Aaaaaaaah I LOVE audio!!! It's so great to hear his voice
It's Robert Pattinson speaking, the former vampire who bewitches even without biting. That's what happens in the Dior Homme cologne adv. That's what happens one day in Los Angeles, where we met and interviewed him for the October issue of Glamour Italy…
"Do you mind if I chew a piece of gum during the interview?."
First info: Robert Pattinson is a polite Hollywood star. Twilight, the vampire saga that made him famous, yielded him a popularity second only to the post-Titanic "DiCaprio-mania". However, Robert remained a 27 year old down-to-earth guy who asks for permission.
And who quickly changes his mind: "Actually, I'm going to spit it: this is disgusting!". He waits for a hint of approval, then rips the corner of a newspaper, wraps in the "gross piece of gum", and smiles, while hiding the "misdeed" with his hands.
Second info: Rob, as his friends call him, with his flipped back baseball cap and his three days' stubble , is also funny.
"Do you want to try an Italian one?" I ask him. "Really? Thank you!". He delicately takes the package. While opening it, with his half British half American accent, he reads: "Denti bianchi, sorriso protetto (i.e.: white teeth, protected smile)". He hasn't got a single word, but looks enthusiastic. He tries one, then reclines his head, so all that one can see is his thick eyebrows, and, right below, two blue slits. He whispers: "Yours are much better".
Third info: Pattinson could win anyone over with just one look.
Or even one smile: it happens in the adv for the Dior Homme cologne, of which he recently became spokesperson, taking over Jude Law's role. The commercial begins and, for the first 20 seconds, Robert is serious, thoughtful, intense. Then Camille Rowe, his partner on set, pretends to kiss him, while in fact attempts to bite his lips. That comes unexpected: he smiles, and the public melts. Every woman, no matter her age, secretly wishes to be in the shoes of the only creature who is able to light up the handsome, gloomy guy.
VIDEO: Robert Pattinson talks about Dior Homme film in new interview! "I wanted to do something different."
UPDATE2: More gifs added. 4 new ones underneath the video. The rest, under the cut! UPDATE: Added translation of the article by PattinsonArtWork from Elle and the pictures. Below the video! Video download HERE. Thanks melli! Gifs under the cut!
GAH!!!!!! That voice....
Great interview with Rob talking about Dior and his input! DONT MISS THIS!!!
Highlights:
Wanting to work with Romain for a long time and talking about his style.
Dior gave Rob and Romain a lot of freedom.
Rob wanted to do something that had bite to it and was sexy as well.
Wanted the "not giving a shit" attitude.
Discussed what the Dior Homme man is to him.
Talked about Nan Goldin being chosen as the photographer.
Describes the ad - "wild, sexy, elegant, powerful" and more!
"He is the kind of man who would be ready to fight in a tuxedo, an indomitable man, a free spirit who does what he wants and is not afraid of anything" ... Who better than Robert Pattinson to embodie the new man of Parfums Dior? In an interview video revealed exclusively on ELLE.fr, the 27 years actor confess simply and appears at the opposite of the ethereal heartthrob that still sticks to his skin. A muse role he considers unexpected in his career, in a film with a raw aesthetic directed by Romain Gavras very different from other campaigns with classical beauty ... By asserting through professional choices more relevant, Robert Pattinson stirs the curiosity of his fans and awakens the interest of moviegoers.
Plus their images they included in the article. Click for LARGE!
While we patiently (not so patiently?) await the interviews for DiorRob, the lucky journalists that got to sit down one on one with THE MAN have been teasing details. Here are the latest:
Rob #Pattinson about @Arsenal in upcoming @sportetstyle interview : "They are more concerned by playing elegantly than actually winning!"
— Yves Bongarcon (@Whybee1) July 3, 2013
I love when Rob gets sporty. Arsenal is his favorite football club and it reminded me of this old pic of Rob looking fanboyish with Theo Walcott. Here's the other tease, well...not so much a tease but more of a tweet that makes you say, "Amen sista!"
GAH. Hows about we get an audio of the Marie ClaireItalia interview too?? Ms. Attanasio must be in heaven listening to her playback. *SIGH* Makes me want to go listen to some Rob commentary...
*melts* There was a cool giveaway we did last year that featured a sampling of audio clips from a Rob interview. I loved hearing the interview over reading it...no surprise there. Click HERE to listen to the heavenly angel Rob again.
Lastly, this isn't a tease for DiorRob interviews but was another fun tweet about Rob. @coketweet hinted the other night that Rob gave her his ecig at the Beyonce concert. She later gave a little more info on her blog. From The Coquette:
Yeah, Robert Pattinson really did give me his electronic cigarette at the Beyonce concert tonight. When I asked him for a lighter, he thought I was fucking with him. Honestly though, I assumed it was a one hitter until he showed me how to use the damn thing. Bizarre little moment, and of course, he’s a total sweetie.
The ecig with Rob's DNA-carrying-dried-saliva (that was kinda gross to type but whatev...ROBsessed FTMFW) is currently being shipped to the number 1 cloning facility in the world. We should expect the first batch of Robs to be completed by mid-2014 and available for shipment by Christmas. The Rob is going to be expensive so start saving, laaaaadieeeees.
AUDIO: Sampling of Robert Pattinson interviews from new Twilight eBook + contest details!
We shared a new/old interview with Rob recently where he talked about 50 Shades, what scene in the whole Twilight series touched him the most, how he stays grounded and more. Click HERE to read if you missed it.
That interview came from a compilation of interviews in a new eBook titled, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner – In their own words.
I purchased the eBook back when we posted and the material is very familiar - a collection of some of Rob's press interviews from 2008-2012 but the audio clips I enjoyed most. Many of them we haven't heard his voice saying the words but have read the words in print through the years. The $7.99 was worth it just to have the collection of audio.
Now the contest news!
The publishers, eBook People, have extended an offer to our readers to win a free copy of the ebook! We'll run a caption contest starting this Thursday, September 27th and go through the weekend, for a chance to win the extensive collection of interviews from Rob, Kristen and Taylor.
Here are a few audio samples of Rob (dated from 2008-2012) they sent us. There are roughly 20 from Rob in the actual eBook:
The press release explains more about the eBook:
After the great success with the release of Part 1 of the biggest eBook on The Rolling Stones ever (50 Years: The Rolling Stones – Views from the Inside, Views from the Outside, 1,000 pages, Part 2 to be released in 2013) only months ago, The eBook People GmbH (www.theebookpeople.com) have dedicated themselves to a new comprehensive publication: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner – In their own words.
Weeks before the last installment of the Twilight Saga in mid-November a record-breaking eBook on the main cast members will hit online stores like iTunes, Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
“One of the most successful franchises in Hollywood history comes to an end and many fans are excited and confused at the same time”, says publisher Matthias Würfl. “It’s time to take a look back on the main cast members and characters, all the way from the first movie up to now. Of course, we were also surprised by the news of Rob and Kristen. You can never look into people’s minds and their real reasons. But some of the interviews that date back to 2008 appear in a different light now.”
The eBook contains more than 30 interviews with the cast from 2008 until now and runs over more than 300 pages on the Kindle. In addition, the eBook includes more than 100 images that are combined with audio quotes taken from interviews conducted with the stars.
For this project The eBook People teamed up with Paris-based American lifestyle journalist Talia Soghomonian. Her work has been featured in InStyle, Elle Girl, Rolling Stone Magazine, Maria Claire, NME, Rock Mag or Le Monde Mag. In the eBook the author analyzes the vampire cult, the phenomenon that is Twilight and takes a look at the cast from her own point of view – something that she is one of the best persons to do, as she has met Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner in person and has interviewed all of them various times.
“It’s an indispensable collection of original content for every fan, especially when watching all the parts of the series again”, says publisher Matthias Würfl. “And it comes with audio on the enhanced ePub version that runs on the iPad, for example. The Twihards we showed the eBook to – they were delighted.”
The Author: Talia Soghomonian started out in theater. It was while she was playing a rather pesky, fashion-conscious journalist that she decided to drop theater and “get serious.” After fashion design, she pursued journalism, the main reason being that she wanted to meet U2... She went on to meet some of the world’s biggest stars. Her work has been featured in NME, Rock Mag, Rolling Stone, InStyle, Marie Claire, Grazia, Elle Girl, Le Monde Mag, Guitar Part and Collider.com. She was also a staff writer at the French daily Metro where she wrote about film and music. Originally from Los Angeles, she currently resides in Paris where life is not always easy... Talia has a hard time resisting the chocolate, the architecture and the shoes.
The Publisher: In his former life as freelance journalist Matthias Würfl has interviewed stars including Pink, Carlos Santana, P.Diddy, Lionel Richie, Carla Bruni and Mick Jagger for titles like InStyle, Playboy and Glamour. He founded The Interview People GmbH (www.theinterviewpeople.com) in 2007 with Michael and Uli Karg. Today they work with outlets in 70 countries selling interviews, features and images from freelance journalists as well as prestigious publishing houses. Recently they have launched a new company, The eBook People (www.theebookpeople.com), which provides quality multimedia eBooks using material from their archives. Their first project was the successful release of Part 1 of a 2,000 pages eBook on The Rolling Stones.
Website: www.theebookpeople.com Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner – In their own words will be available at www.theebookpeople.com, Amazon.com, iTunes, and Barnes & Nobel from mid-September 2012.
And an excerpt from the interview with the author about the eBook. Rob is mentioned, his romantic and seductive turn as Edward :)
The book is available NOW if you don't want to wait for the contest. I really enjoyed the built-in audio feature for iPad/iPhone.

Flashback: Addicted and devoted to Robert Pattinson and his music
We've been talking about MusicalRob on the blog recently from his jam session with Dermot to SaxophonistRob. In the comments, I catch when people say, "oh I've never seen this, never heard this, never known this!" and I saw that in those posts. We know Rob keeps his musical side pretty protected. The last recording we were privy to was made over two years ago and shared publicly well over a year after that (It's All On You). If you're new to Robsession, you might not know all that is out there with Rob's musical stamp on it.
Since MusicalRob is so beloved, doesn't take much for us to do a post like this :) Let's review all the gems we have from one talented man.
4 years ago, music Rob had self recorded leaked out and gave fans an awesome sampling of his soulful, raw vocal quality. Stray Dog and I'll Be Your Lover Too are my favorites from that series.
Stray Dog
I'll Be Your Lover Too
To Roam
To Roam video with lyrics
Rob also used to frequent open mics and there are a couple videos that captured either his performance of the vocals. The first song that reached my heart and clenched it was I Was Broken. LAWD the emotion in his voice. I heard it first in May 2009, when I became Robsessed. Rob's talent was everywhere in my searches for who this guy playing Edward Cullen was.
I Was Broken - written by Rob's friend Marcus Foster
This is the full version, vocal recording only, also worth a listen. Love the tone he starts the song with.
I adore this live version of Stray Dog. It also kills me because had I been Robsessed during the fall of 08 and not spring of 09, I might have caught this performance in LA.
Stray Dog
These recordings are two more Marcus Foster songs performed live by Rob. Not the best recording but you can hear Rob setting up his songs and singing to his heart's content.
In Your Head
I Don't Mind
More MusicalRob and official recordings after the cut!
NEW: Robert Pattinson on the cover of Day & Night + Rob & David interview with Richard Crouse & MORE!
UPDATE: Since this was a mini Cosmopolis cluster of news, I'm adding new footage of Rob inside the theater of his Cosmopolis premiere at Cannes and David mentioning Rob in a new interview. Videos at the bottom.
A new promotional still from Cosmopolis features Rob on the cover of Day & Night magazine!
This is the audio of Rob and David's interview with Richard Crouse. Rob is great. I love him in this setting. It sounds like the interview took place on June 5th, the day after the press conference. He's very thoughtful with his answers and it's over 10 min long. There is a spoiler around the 8:50-9:10 area. Skip that and Rob picks back up talking after 9:30 when the question finished.
Highlights:
Rob talking about journalists asking if his roles reflect his real self and not relating to that question
Rob talks about people's fascination with fame
Rob says he thinks the limos aren't that present in NYC anymore
Rob likes the poetry of the script and says a great anecdote about his friend who wrote a script. This led to him saying how much he loves the language of Cosmopolis. "Whenever I see clips of it, I want to say the lines again." This really hit me because after seeing the film, I haven't been able to stop saying the lines the way these characters spoke them.
Quick glimpse of Rob in the theater at Cannes. You can also see Kristen and Tom.
No Videos Left Behind: Robert Pattinson with his charm and zen in Paris and Lisbon
UPDATE: Added great videos of Rob inside the Paris screening. Cutie! "I looooved her..." 2nd video
Also, more videos under the cut - with fans in Paris and a longer video of the Lisbon intro at the bottom.
Oh YUM! Watch this video. GAH. I know that's not very descriptive but that was my reaction LOL
This video is at a distance but you can clearly hear Rob :)
UPDATED POST With HQ vid VIDEO Of Robert Pattinson On Le Grand Journal (With Translation)
Translation
Michel: You were here in 2009, you walked the red carpet. We have footage. You did it again yesterday for another movie, for On the Road and you're going to do it again tomorrow for your first movie in competition. Cosmopolis by David Cronenberg, that's long-awaited. You said this movie changed you life. I quote from Premiere magazine: you said it gave you balls. Rob: I don't know why everyone brings up the balls thing. I think it got lost in translation. I wanted to say that I got balls surgically attached to my body during the whole movie.
Michel: So it's the story of a golden boy working in finance, an adaptation from Don DeLillo's novel, Frédéric. Frédéric: He's an AMmrican author that's very well-known who talked a lot about society and the dangers of finance. But also about power. I was thinking, I mean I'm sure you've read the book to prepare for the role but did you also study bankers or watch trader movies, Wall Street or American Psycho maybe to work on the role of Eric Packer, this dangerous banker? That was a long question. Rob: I didn't think it was related to finances or traders. I liked the lyrical aspect of the script. I tried to prepared myself my own way like for my other roles. But it was pretty much impossible because there was no way to deal with this the normal way. I don't know, there might be some inconscious aspects that come out of the character.
The money from donations will be used towards purchases for the blog. Not a single dime will go into our pockets :) Help us bring you better content/pictures by donating. Every little bit helps!
