Robert Pattinson at Regis and Kelly:A Fan Encounter

So as you all know Rob appeared on "Regis & Kelly" a while ago and our lovely readers Kelly & Suz were lucky enough to win tickets to go to the show, this is Kelly & Suz's story of their Rob encounter.

Kelly's Vid

Suz's Vid

This is taken from Kelly's Blog :
I always have liked to make the first “phone call” after a first date. Perhaps it’s a little unorthodox, but as the saying goes, “Well behaved women rarely make history”.

So I think our “date” went well. I was so glad you didn’t mind that I brought one of my best friends Suz along, and, after all, you spent most of your time with Regis and Kelly. Oh, and I’m really sorry for Suz's outburst(When Regis asked “What is it about the whole Vampire thing with women, is it the biting, the blood sucking, what?” yeah, she was the one who responded “YES!” from the audience… what can I say, you are outburst worthy. :)

I think the conversation went well. You were completely charming as always. The comment about “Twi-Mom’s” always looking too young.. Pure perfection! You certainly are learning how to work a crowd!

I have to be honest though. I had a really hard time listening to what you were saying. There you were about 8 feet away from me; the only thing coming between us was a television camera from time to time. I was trying to listen, and take pictures, because you are a busy man and who knows when we will have a chance to do this again. So I did spend a lot of time looking at you through my camera lens. The show went in a blur.

The first commercial break came, and you were taken to the opposite side of the room from where you greeted a few audience members, a couple of photos and a few autographs. The pure joy you bring to your fans when you approach them is such a special thing to watch.

A few brief minutes and you were back in front of the room, live TV you know.. and you were introducing a clip from New Moon, and then your segment of the show was done, concluding with another commercial break.

That was when our special time began. You approach us with purpose, and we quickly got through the pleasantries of handshakes and introductions. And then you asked if we would like a picture with you. Of course I did.. as I said you are a busy guy and who knows when our paths will cross again.

I handed my camera off to another audience member and apparently, she was so transfixed by you that she couldn’t take her eyes off of you and she forgot to look at the screen on the back of the camera to see what she was taking a picture of. And so I offer you the two pictures of you and me together.

And then you did something that will forever hold your place in my heart. You looked at me, and asked if we got the picture, and when I replied that I didn’t think so, you told me, “Let’s take another”.

There, in a room full of people demanding your attention, and your limited and precious time, you were willing to give me more. After the past few weeks of going non-stop, doing publicity for the movie, being screamed at and groped, little sleep, and desperately in need of a break, you offered me more of your time.

I could not, in good conscience, let you give more of yourself away, and told you that it was OK, that there were others who wanted to meet you, and I remember my hand was on your elbow and I gave it a squeeze, as I reluctantly sent you on your way.

You turned slightly away, signed an autograph on the poster of a young girl, a couple of quick “R’s” on some other things thrust at you and then you were whisked away, on to your next engagement.

Not bad for a first date. I’ve had worse. I think, when you have more time, we should try it again, maybe with a smaller group. We could have a few of your friends, and a few of mine, a lot less screaming and perhaps a bit later in the day.

When people ask me how I think it went and if I have any regrets I would have to tell them our date was an absolute success, and as for regrets, I only have three:

1) I wish we had had more time

2) I wish the picture of us on my camera had come out(or that I was looking the right direction for the picture taken with Suz’s camera)

3)I wish I knew what happened to the Sharpie pens that were in the bag that was taken back stage containing things for you to sign if you have a chance. We got the bag back with our things that you didn’t have a chance to sign (no worries there) but the three sharpie pens were missing.
Oh, I just thought of one more thing

4)I wish you gotten the homemade cookies Suz had baked and included in the bag for you. You really missed out on those.

All in all, I think we are off to a good start here. I also think that when you have time you should drop me a line and we can see what we can do about getting together again. I really believe that this was the start of a beautiful friendship.:)

All joking aside, I wish I could find the words to express all that I felt that day. It’s not often something, or someone gives me a reason to dance on Columbus Avenue while hailing a cab, but I had a damn good reason to do it yesterday!

Thank you, for being you and for being willing to give me an unforgettable moment. I am aware, as I have stated before, that I was merely a drop in the ocean that was the promotional tour for "New Moon" let alone the even bigger ocean that is your life. But I will treasure that gift of your time always! You are a very special and beautiful soul, and I count myself lucky each day to wake in a world where you exist, and where you are able to do what you do.

Special thanks to the Staff of Regis and Kelly who made this opportunity possible!

I am so happy that Rob got to meet 2 of his best fans and hopefully he'll realise that there are more fans out there like this!
Thank you to Kelly & Suz for sharing this with us and please check out this Pre-Date blog post on Kelly's blog it's hilarious and this on Suz's blog

Oh and if you missed the fabulous Suz shouting out yes here's the vid. it's at the 2 min mark!

A Robert Pattinson Fan's Journey From Norway to London

We were saving some pictures and stories for the "drought" that would come. And here it is, kinda...

Our lovely reader @Marystat sent us her story about attending the New Moon London event. We thank her and @Stupid69lamb for the story and pictures :)

My trip to London for the UK Twilight Saga New Moon fan event on Nov. 11th 2009

I left Norway on Tuesday Nov 10th and well arrived safe and sound to my hotel, contacted my friends who were already in London and another friend on her way to the hotel I was staying in.

When we all got together eventually we got a hot tip about a possible arrival with Rob and co from Paris. So after having dinner at some Asian restaurant we rushed to Paddington st to catch the express train to the airport and um..well silly things happend that will make us laugh for a while I think! After finally getting on the train and paid no less than £23 ONE WAY to get to the airport we started to wait, and wait and wait. At the end of the night it was clear that they wouldn’t arrive where we were hehe. As pics have since shown they arrived at some private airport I think?

Anyways the next day we got up EARLY. I am talking 5:40 am early. Then finally managed to make our way to Battersea Park where the event would take place. We got there by 7:45 am. Not too many people there but well the security there either wasn’t clear on how they would sort out the line for those picking up tickets and those who were there for the red carpet arrivals. After being moved here’n’there for a bit things started to look like they had a plan and the end result it turned out to be a good one. They ended up having the people for the red carpet in one line and when it was time to go inside they took us group by group of 10 ppl. This to avoid people running and to make it fair for those who had camped out/came early.

Fan Encounter and Picture from 08/08/2009

Remember tinkrbe1l3 that froze on her tracks when she saw Rob on Friday night? Well last night she didn't :) I have a huge smile on my face because she is the cutest! Read it, you'll agree ;)

*Gozde: You see 100 pix of Rob smiling and 1 picture without a smile makes everyone get up in arms about his "well being". Just read the cute story man, don't judge every picture...

Sooooo…me again and do I have a story for you (can u tell by the pic???). This one is a little longer because of the build up but it’s a goood story IMHO. Where did we leave off from Friday night: I’m a moron. I don’t know how to talk to people I adore. I don’t know how to look at people I adore. My best friend rocks. Did I mention what I do for a living? I teach public speaking. Yeah. Seriously.

Here’s how I gave myself a Cher (Moonstruck) slap and snapped outta it. During Marcus’ show Friday night he mentioned he’d might play the piano for his Saturday show. I’m a sucker for some good piano playin’ and since my brain was melting on Friday, I didn’t get to really take in the show like I wish I could have. So I considered going again if there were tix and if I could get someone to come with. There WERE tix (crazy!) and I got a friend to tag along (not the best friend who was busy). All was good. I knew Rob wasn’t gonna come because…I don’t know. That’s just what I told myself at the time. My goal? Marcus on the keys. This is when it all starts to be God/kismet/meant to be/luck/whatever you pray to because if Marcus didn’t mention the piano, I wouldn’t have gone to see him again.

My friend had asked me earlier in the day what my ultimate goal was here with Rob (she was just getting the story of the night prior). I said I suppose the icing on the cake is a pic with him. I added since that was near impossible considering his popularity, I’d settle for a distant viewing of him at a public appearance of his choosing (trying to respect the man, trying to respect the man). We get to the show and we’re at the end of the line but its ok. No pressure tonight. Go inside and grab a good spot at the front and hear the opening act. He was great! Kevin Earnest. Well Mr. Earnest played his set with a violinist and a cellist. Suuuper sexy. At least to me. I’m a sucker for strings. Keys and strings. He mentions he’s selling cds after his show and I know I gotta get it if he’s got the strings going on. After the show he doesn’t seem too sure where he’s selling stuff (???) so I take it upon myself to go towards the entrance in the
back and ask the merchandise ladies what’s up. I tell my friend to hold down the fort, I’m gonna go get a cd. And here we go….

I walk to the back and the ladies don’t know what’s up with the guys cd but I see Marcus has his live disc for sale (awesome cd btw). I go to buy it when the world shifts to slow-mo and the door right by me busts open. I turn to see what startled me and see random flashes outside. Who was it that came in like a living god? Rob. Robert. Robert Pattinson. He looked dead at me (there was no where else TO look, that’s how small this area was). What did I do? Looked away immediately and made an audible gasp (reference the first story to understand why I’m a moron). I shoved myself away from the merchandise desk as if I was struck and backed up against the wall. Whether I was trying to give space for the gorgeous living god before me or melt into the wall to disappear, I don’t know. Here’s what I was saying in my head: Breathe. You can’t stop breathing. Why are you alone?!? Where is your best friend?!? Where are your legs?!? Keep breathing.

I had no plan WHATSOEVER to take a pic. I couldn’t move let alone grab my camera out of my pocket but I’ll forever be indebted to this bold, slightly obnoxious, woman. I hear someone say quite casually, “Oh my god, can I have a picture?” She then gave Marcus her camera (where did HE come from?!?!) and Rob laughs (LAUGHS!!!) and says something like: he’s gotta be in it too, he’s Marcus. This didn’t faze the woman. She had Marcus take her shot then gave Rob her camera to take a pic of Marcus and her. This all happened in front of my petrified eyes but something was simmering. Her boldness was sprinkling out onto me. I had tried to tell them all I could take the pic but it came out barely in a whisper and no one heard. I don’t know if I actually even said it out loud now. But I had to do something else to inject myself into the situation or I would never forgive myself. I got my opening.

After her camera show, I increased my vocal volume and asked Rob if I too could have a picture...please. He said sure. But then! There was commotion over back by the merchandise ladies. Rob’s posse of Brits were saying something which made Marcus ask something which made Rob turn away (ACK!!!) to see what was up (it wasn’t anything and I really didn’t care if it was something). I asked bold girl if she’d take a pic for me and she said of course (that is if he remembered me…ha!). But he did. He turned back around (we’re still operating in slow-mo here) and I put my arm around his waist (help) and he put his arm across my back or shoulder or waist (damn that part is foggy) and I smiled for the camera. He’s very serious in the pic and looks tired (although surprisingly younger in person) and I felt a little bad. As he walked away and I struggled to collect myself, I let the first thing that came to mind tumble from my mouth.
“Congratulations on all your success.” His back had been turned to me at that point as he was leaving the small foyer but he turned around and flashed me thee smile. The genuine, classic, Rob smile and said, “Thank you so much.” And then he was gone and I floated far far away. I didn’t get the smile shot he threw at me but it’s ok. Feels more intimate that way ;-) It’s imprinted in my memory only. I saw him from a distance sporadically through the night (I think the woman’s bold dust sprinkled on him too) as he moved about but I already had my moment. All that’s left to say is veni vidi vici.
