Movie updates for Robert Pattinson's Mission: Blacklist (Fall start date!) and Maps To The Stars
We posted about this a couple of weeks ago
HERE but it was officially announced today with
Deadline reporting:
The Swedish invasion into Hollywood continues. Jesper Ganslandt has been tapped to direct Robert Pattinson in the psychological thriller Mission: Blacklist, about a brilliant young military interrogator who spearheads the capture of Saddam Hussein. Pic is based on the life of soldier-turned-intelligence agent Eric Maddox, who funneled his experiences into the 2008 nonfic book Mission: Black List #1 – The Inside Story Of The Search For Saddam Hussein – As Told By The Soldier Who Masterminded His Capture. The Code Entertainment project was announced at Cannes last year, back when Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire was set to direct. Following Sauvaire’s departure, Ganslandt stepped in and will make his English-language debut after directing three features — Blondie, The Ape, and Falkenberg Farewell — in his native Sweden.
Filming is scheduled for the fall.
The script is by Band Of Brothers scribe Erik Jendresen, Dylan Kussman, and Trace Sheehan. Ross M. Dinerstein of Preferred Content is producing alongside Jendresen and Kevin Waller, with Code Entertainment producing and financing the project. Jesper is repped by Paradigm and Magnolia.
Did you catch the new info?
Filming is scheduled for the fall! Another film blog for MB did a little more investigating and found a date as well - September 30th. Click
HERE to read her report. If this holds true, Rob might start
Mission: Blacklist after
Maps To The Stars. I'm excited about this since MB is the only film of the five indies (
The Rover, MTTS, Queen Of The Desert, Hold On To Me, Mission: Blacklist) where Rob is the clear lead.
The Rover is close - he shares the screen pretty evenly with Guy Pearce but
Mission: Blacklist would be Rob's. So YAY for this moving forward.
One of the screenwriters also tweeted earlier about the updates to the script they're making since Jesper came on board:
As for
Maps To The Stars,
Carrie Fisher has been added to the cast (as herself) and
Julianne Moore,
John Cusack and
Mia Wasikowska have been spotted in Toronto.
Rob obviously isn't there yet but twitter rumors are heating up with
one person claiming to see his trailer already setting up and
another claiming Rob will be in her city next week to film a movie. Rob is a supporting role in the film so it's no surprise he's not scheduled yet. We'll see what happens and keep you posted!
