Do you remember when Robert Pattinson presented Chris Weitz with his Hamilton Award back in 2011? (Rob at 3:17 & 4:00)



Hmmmm we never did get to see a full video of Rob's speech did we? (yes, I'm still bitter about it). BUT we now have a new gorgeous backstage photo, so I'll live in hope that someday we'll see the full video of Rob's speech and finally get THE SOUP! (If you don't know what that's about click HERE)

Anyway here's the gorgeous NEW/Old backstage pic and boy what a treat it is. God that dark shirt and suit combo is a favourite of mine!

I think you all know by now the love we have here for Chris Weitz.
It has grown even more since he joined Twitter and we've had the opportunity to get to "know him" better. If you're not following him you're missing out BIG TIME.

Here while being interviewed by Digital Spy for his new movie "A Better Life" (which I'm patiently waiting see as it's not out here yet) he talks about the "fun" he had on the "New Moon" set {giggle}, his rooting interest in Robert Pattinson and twitter.

Chris Weitz Talks About His Wishes For Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner

In a recent interview Chris Weitz spoke about what he wishes for Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner in the future and also about what scene he's most looking forward to seeing in "Breaking Dawn".



“I really want to see how they’re going to figure out the part where the vampire baby chews its way out of Kristen Stewart’s stomach,” said “New Moon” director, Chris Weitz, when we recently asked him what he’s looking forward to seeing in the final “Twilight Saga” movies.

Chris quipped with a smile, “I certainly wouldn’t know how to shoot that. I’m sure Bill Condon is going to figure it out, because he’s a terrific director.”

As for the future of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner after “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” Parts 1 (to be released in November this year) and 2 (next year), here’s Chris’ wish for them: “For the three leads, they’re going to need to handle this last tsunami of publicity and distinguish themselves in other films.”

“With Kristen, she has always done terrific independent-film roles, and that’s great,” said Chris, who also directed the memorable “About a Boy,” “The Golden Compass” and, now, the acclaimed “A Better Life.” “Rob is doing that sort of thing, too,” Chris pointed out. “Rob is filming with David Cronenberg (‘Cosmopolis’) now. Taylor is carving a different path in action films.”

“I want to see them succeed,” Chris stressed. “I want to see them retain their essential humanity. I like them very much. What I also wish for them are happy lives that aren’t impinged on too much by the downside of the great things that have happened to them.”

It's been a few days because we were actually blogging about this guy, Robert Pattinson. He has a movie coming out, Water for Elephants, so Mr. Weitz was put on the back burner. :P

jittzpattzing @chrisweitz rob's talked recently ab quitting acting if he's not doing roles he would like to see, understandably. Do you see him as a long term actor? Do you see him continually growing in the craft? Do you automatically get a sense of which actors you work with will turn on as 'greats'? Do you think someone can learn to be a great or is it innate?

CW: Well. He has every right to do what he likes. He has a lot of innate talent. There is however a strange compulsion for people to want to see stars get "bigger" and "bigger", which generally means more famous not necessarily more happy. I would rather be happy than famous. And I think any sane person would agree. Can I see "greatness" in a young actor? Sometimes. Jose Julian from A Better Life could be great. Takes tremendous effort and commitment.

CW: Oh this one is definitely making the FAQ file. Volvo gave marketing money to the film. At least it wasn't poop brown, which is what they wanted. I could go on about how it's dark tone foreshadowed the breakup and gloom, but I'd by fibbing

CW: Ok lemme tell you some mad secret stuff that nobody knows. I came up with a whole storyline where he went and worked with the dying in Calcutta. Stephenie VERY gently told me no way.

CW: As I have said before, Rob is SLOVENIAN. So he confers with his Slovenian dialect coach between takes.

CW: I always do this sort of thing, though I did more than usual in NM. It's fun to play semantic games!
