ROBsessed's 30 Days for Rob's 30 Years: Robert Pattinson's Awesome Role In 'Cosmopolis'
Yaaassssss indeed. Let's get in the mood by hearing from Mr. Packer for just a moment...
We're people in the world. We need to eat and talk.
Speak to me, Eric Packer! I can't tell you how much I love this performance. It's my favorite and it's awesome. It grows in awesomeness with each viewing and is wildly quotable. And who do we have to thank for that?
Rob chewed up this dialogue heavy role in a major way and captivated from the start.
He played a man that set out on a simple mission.
Continue on the Cosmopolis journey after the cut!

Blast From The Past: 1,000+ HQs of Robert Pattinson in NYC during WFE premiere PLUS An Interview with Mr. Packer....
These pics were requested last month during our WFE themed 365DoR. There are tooooooons so you'll want to bookmark the page for when you have a leisure day. Grab an Arnold Palmer to sip on so you don't lick your screen. Or maybe you like that sort of thing. ;)
Speaking of themed months, our Cosmopolis 365DoR month is wrapping up and reader, Jay, put together a little something for us that serves as our Part 3 interview. He played the part of interviewer and interviewee. We'll let WFE NYCRob be our guide in the interview since he has a Packeresque quality about him.
This is ROBsessed's pseudo-interview with Eric Packer. I think it expressed itself quite humorously....
ROBsessed: Thanks for answering our call...can we interview you?
Eric Michael Packer: Yes, I'd like that. Sit and talk. I've had a long day. Things and people. Time for a philosophical pause. Some reflection, yes.
ROBsessed: We've tried to get you on the line before. I know you've been itching to talk with us too. I think I've tried, what, four times.
Eric Michael Packer: Five.
ROBsessed Wow. I guess we've been trying to get an interview more than I remember. Anyway, I always find it interesting when people mention ROBsessed. Rob's heard about ROBsessed. He says he checks it to know his upcoming schedule. Did you hear about it from him? How'd you hear about ROBsessed?
Eric Michael Packer: It charts. You have to search a little harder. Think outside the limits.
ROBsessed: Our site completed voting on the 2nd Annual ROBsessed Awards. You won in the category of Robert Pattinson's Best Performance of 2012. What do you imagine the ROBsessed are thinking about you right now?
Eric Michael Packer: You're forcing me to be reasonable. I don't like that.
ROBsessed: Do you want to parlay the success of this film, and what it seems to be doing for your growing reputation, into getting bigger and better roles?
Eric Michael Packer: The phenomenon of reputation is a delicate thing. A person rises on a word and falls on a syllable.
ROBsessed: Whoa. Your answers are very cryptic. I'm worried the questions I had prepared will not suffice.
Eric Michael Packer: This is good. We're like people talking. Isn't this how they talk?
ROBsessed: You are inscrutable.
Eric Michael Packer: There's an order at some deep level. A pattern that wants to be seen.
ROBsessed: You're forgetting about what you and Benno talked about. You were trying to find a balance, but Benno was saying how you should remember the importance of the lopsided. Didn't you learn anything from the movie? You should have listened to your prostate.
Eric Michael Packer: What?
ROBsessed: The actor who plays you, Robert Pattinson, some say they didn't know he had it in him to play the part. Do you agree?
Eric Michael Packer: That's not the question. The question is yours to answer.
ROBsessed: Why is it mine to answer? Do you know something about me? Tell me who you think I am.
Eric Michael Packer: I don't know. Who are you? Maybe if you told me your name.
ROBsessed: One of us is named Tink.
Eric Michael Packer: That's a phony name. It's phony. It's fake.
ROBsessed: *a little frustrated* OK then. Let's start over. What interests you when you're not riding in your limo?
Eric Michael Packer: Holes are interesting. There are books about holes.
ROBsessed: That's an awkward answer. I'll change the subject. Can I ask you few questions about the film and the process of creating it?
Eric Michael Packer: Fine. I could use a tall cold beer about now.
ROBsessed: I don't have any beer.
Eric Michael Packer: But we still want what we want.
ROBsessed: OK. Fine. *pours apple juice*
Eric Michael Packer: Don't make me laugh.
*Torval interrupts, gesturing for the interview to end so he can meet his agenda*
Does the interview really end? Does Mr. Packer get his beer? Can ROBsessed crack his shell?? Are there over 1,000 HQ pics of WFE NYCRob after the cut???

To be or not to be...which Robert Pattinson character would you want for your boyfriend?
To be or not to be...which Robert Pattinson character would you want for your boyfriend?
You guys know I love some Rob polls and you know I love some Rob torture. I was watching a certain Rob film the other day and thought, of all of his characters, I'd have this one be my boyfriend. Not husband...gotta baby step this. But boyfriend, definitely. We've played MFK before but this led me to wonder which Rob character YOU guys would want for a BF.
Let the torture begin!
Giselher: I didn't want to include this character because the removal of Rob's voice is a crime but maybe you're in the relationship for the horse rides.
Rawdy: Kind of young so hopefully teens are the ones voting for this abandoned boy.
Cedric: Same issue as Rawdy here. Hope it's teens voting for this young Hufflepuff lad.
Toby: He might slit your throat and you can't have sex with him but he's oh so dreamy and sounds like heaven.
Daniel: Adorkable at its best and he'll love you even if you're knocked up with another man's kid.
Art: Musically "talented" but one therapy session shy of doin' fine.
Salvador: Brilliant artist. You can be his muse or his beard or both.
Edward: As only your boyfriend, you likely won't be getting any from him but he's oh so dazzling and wont kill you no matter how much he wants to.
Richard: Slight stalker but has a nice tan. Don't pull his hair too tight.
Tyler: Moody, broody and such a cutie but has some daddy issues.
Jacob: A gentleman at his best and animal lover but you're going to have to show him around the silk sheets.
Georges: Let's get ready to ruuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmble! Champagne! P.S. Hide your wallet.
Eric: Mind-boggling and wants you to arouse a passionate feeling. Just let him get a haircut when he wants one or he'll get trigger happy.
You only get one vote! I won't tell you which one was my pick...I'll say later in the comments ;)

Kristen Stewart talks about working with Robert Pattinson and Sarah Gadon mentions their Cosmopolis characters
The first mention comes from Kristen who squashed the Ciné-Télé (Belgium) comment allegedly from Rob that we posted HERE. We put a grain of salt on that post because it was translated and print. You know those two things are a classic combo for the grain of salt. Kristen says "we are constantly working but no".

Sarah Gadon talked about Eric and Elise, dominating the indomintable guy and a cool thing to consider regarding the seating position of her and Rob in Cosmopolis:
M&C: Your character’s relationship with Eric Pattinson) her husband, is oddly straightforward – it’s love/hate. It’s brittle, combative and sexual. What's your take on it?
Gadon: So often as a female actress you’re accustomed to reading material where the male character projects onto you exactly what you’re feeling and exactly what you’re working in and exactly what your actions are in a scene.
What I thought was so hilarious about the two of them is that he spent the entire time trying to project onto her – “I want to fuck you, I think you’re sexy, I want this. That, you’re sad, you’re happy”.
And she spends the whole time saying “No, no” until the end of the arc when he says “I’m not going to be the man you want me to be” and she says "Okay well, I’m out”. It was so refreshing to me to read that also terrifying. There is a charisma to the way she does it. But there is no blazing moment where the screenwriter is saying “fall in love with this woman” because she’s a woman.
M&C: Was your purpose was to dominate the indomitable guy?
Gadon: I think that’s why women are so responsive to the character. Men say to me “So she’s really cold” [laughs] but that is what is so great about David is that as a filmmaker, he leaves so much open to interpretation and he allows for the female and male spectator.
He’s not assuming all audiences members are young men. He’s saying “I'm going to give you a guy like this or a girl like this and then a woman and a sex scene like that”. That’s what I find so stimulating about his work. I'm speculating into the void now but I think he really does account for audiences that are both men and women.
M&C: He has a strong wife and daughter. He’s interesting to see him grow over the years; he seems to have relaxed as a director now, perhaps less of a control freak now.
Gadon: But he is not a lax director. Everything is so defined. He spent a lot of time getting the script to get to that point. So often, as Rob Pattinson says, you get material that is not fully developed and just because of the nature of the industry now, you don’t know what’s going to get green lit.
It has nothing to do with the script and everything to do with the casting, director, financing, so an actor may go to camera with a script that is not going to be developed anymore.
It creates a different kind of role for an actor. So often you’re trying to figure out a scene, the action, intention, emotion with the director on the day and it’s just a lot messier. With David it’s already there.
There is that difference, but on the day. He’s there watching and listening and he comes up and says something, even a word, “comprised”, not composed”, and you’ll say it and it will change your whole performance.
Rob and I had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the movie and he wanted us to sit side by side. He asked us to sit outward until the end of the scene when we face each other. Things like that that change your performance. He likes to play like he’s laid back!
