ROBsessed's 30 Days for Rob's 30 Years: Its awesome that Robert Pattinson remained so humble and down to earth

ROBsessed's 30 Days for Rob's 30 Years: Its awesome that Rob remained so humble and down to earth.  Rob has certainly known screaming fans and lots of attention over the years ...

image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host

... and yet Rob never let that go to his head or adopt Hollywood diva behaviour.  Just some of the quotes from directors and coworkers

Bel Ami director, Declan Donnellan, talks about humble Robert Pattinson: "He never played, 'I'm Mr. Twilight.'"

'The Rover' Director David Michod:
“With Rob it’s Beatlemania,” he says.

“But it’s been one of the great, sort of most rewarding things for me about this whole experience is realising that the guy who’s at the centre of this bizarre bubble is actually a really wonderful gentle, humble, interesting, funny human being.”

Michael Sheen Says Robert Pattinson Is Hardworking, Pleasant & Very Humble
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is upon us. You have worked with Robert Pattinson in New Moon. What is he like, and do you see him being able to break free of the role of Edward?
I’m sure he’s not going to have any trouble himself personally, it’s whether the audience will accept him as something else. We’ll see. He certainly has the desire to stretch herself as an actor and try different things. He has a [different] film out at the moment, doesn’t he?

Yes, Remember Me, which is really good.
So I hear. I don’t think he’ll have any trouble. He’ll probably always be Edward Cullen for a whole generation, but I’m sure he won’t have any trouble doing that. And he’s lovely. He’s a very nice English lad who seems to have both feet on the ground. He’s very humble, very pleasant and hard-working. He takes what he does very seriously. I think he’s going to do very well, that young lad.

Pierce Brosnan says Rob has a good heart and is humble
Pierce Brosnan, who describes Pattinson as:“a young man who has been catapulted into the stratosphere of fame. As far as I can tell, he has a good heart, he's humble, and he was very brave when he chose the role of Tyler, because he’s carrying the weight from Twilight, literally breathing on his neck. It’s up to him to choose interesting roles to film in between filming blockbuster movies”
Lee Pace (Garrett in Breaking Dawn) calls Rob charming and humble.
"The thing about [Rob] that is so charming is what you see is what you get," Pace said. "He is as charming and humble and handsome as he presents himself. Totally what you see is what you get with him."

Rob's stunt double in Twilight Paul Darnell says how humble and hard working Rob is.
How did you react when Robert Pattinson thanked you for his Twilight “Best Fight” MTV Movie Award? Can you share your experience in filming that scene?

First let me say that Robert Pattinson is an amazingly humble person and a very hard worker. He works very hard and shows up to every rehearsal. The last battle scene in Twilight was very intense. Many of the stunts involved hard hits with wires and crashes which are so much fun to do! Without risking personal injury to Rob, I ended up doing the majority of stunts in the final battle which won the award.

I was at a friend's house and I started getting text messages and phone calls from friends saying "I think Rob Pattinson just thanked you on national TV". I was really stoked and also a little confused by the "I think" part. Immediately I went online and found a video of Rob's speech where he gave me credit for the award but said the wrong last name. To his credit, someone had misspelled my name on a photo shoot for LA Magazine and my wrong last name was plastered all over the internet. None the less, I was so stoked that he would even think of me for a shot out. Actors rarely do that for stuntmen. Rob is a very considerate individual and true gentleman. When I saw him on the set of Remember Me he immediately apologized for the mishap.

Twilight star Christian Serratos, says Rob has become more humble since Twilight fame

Twilight star Christian Serratos, aka Bella’s high school pal Angela Weber, has a job many girls would just die for — she gets to be on set with Robert Pattinson and the rest of the vamp-movie gang all day. So does she think R-Pattz’s new reputation as a ladies’ man is deserved? OK! chatted with Christian at the Charlotte Russe 2009 Fall Launch in NYC, and we asked if the thought Edward Cullen had turned into a playboy since skyrocketing to fame over the last year.
“I don’t think so,” says Christian, adding that if has changed, Robert has gone in the opposite direction. “If anything he’s become more humble and more introverted,” Christian tells OK!.

Even people who just randomly encounter Rob remark on how humble he is:
I have a friend that manages a bike shop here in Baton Rouge, and I brought my bikes in to get fixed. I walk in, and it's my 3 good friends who run the store, and only 2 other people. An older gentleman, and a younger, bearded one. I didn't recognize either so I just kept walking right past them (like 6 inches away from them) straight to the warehouse of the shop.

A half hour later, I realize, this fucking bearded guy is ROBERT PATTINSON. Robert fucking Pattinson. He was wearing a dark baseball cap, jeans, a red flannel shirt, and black shoes (looked like skate/bike shoes). He decides to buy a bike from my friend (a thousand dollar bike that I'm sure you'll see in paparazzi pictures from now on). This is a nice bike, and needs to be setup in the warehouse before sending him with it, so I then find myself in the predicament OF HANGING OUT WITH ROBERT PATTINSON IN A SMALL ROOM FOR AN HOUR. He's the most attractive person I've ever fucking met. And his beard? Epic. He's also the sweetest goddamn person, and I didn't ask for a picture, because he seemed to be enjoying the fact that not a single one of us acknowledged his celebrity.

Anyway. That's it. Fucking epic, and I don't even like Twilight. Oh, and that smile? That fucking smile? CUTEST THING EVER. He's like, Cedric Diggery nice. Super sweet. Super humble.

What better way to end the post.  Robert Pattinson ... Cedric Diggery nice. Super sweet. Super humble.

Blast from the Past: When Robert Pattinson visited the Children's Hospital Los Angeles

Another visit to the ROBsessed archives ... this time from when Robert Pattinson visited the Children's Hospital Los Angeles and made us all love him even more.

Back in August 2013 we saw some tweets from an excited patient at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles.  She very kindly shared her photos with Rob and her story .... read below

Another great fan encounter with Robert Pattinson

We've been posting fan encounters with Robert Pattinson that show just how good he is to us fans.  This story is the story of another fan encounter. Some lucky fans shared this story from the set of 'Childhood of a Leader' and we get to hear how people who work with Rob think he is kind and impossibly patient!

An extraordinary chance appeared for me and a friend of mine: we grabbed the opportunity to be on

set in the Court of Lions (Buda Castle), freezing in the cold on 2nd February, from 10 am to 4 pm.

Promising that we would not sneak in the picture, take photos or faint at the sight of anyone, we

were allowed inside the cordon.

The situation was not easy: the place was cold and droughty, so we almost froze to death, even
though sometimes we were let inside the cabinets used by the staff to get warm.

So we just stood there, waiting for the big, black car, which eventually arrived, with no one but the
driver. He put a small bottle of mineral water in the cup holder at the back seat, and nothing else
happened. Then the door of a large caravan opened somewhere behind us, and Rob stepped out with
his assistant, so that they could shoot a scene already rehearsed without him.

Originally this was the moment, where we should have fainted.

At this point of the plot, Rob’s character is completely bold and wears a thick moustache and beard.
I think these were dyed even darker than his own hair.

This was the first time I met him ”personally”, and I just melted at the sight. I, being 1.78 m tall,
never thought him so much taller with his 1.85 m, yet, I must admit that I felt him towering over
me. *sigh

And he is thin as a blade, which was clearly visible, although he was wearing a massive military
coat.

And he has a voice, which is… just music to my ears. Unfortunately we could not hear him during
the shooting, I guess he must act a bit, as his own voice does not quite fit his hardy character. We
shall see.

There were about 200 extras freezing with us as well.

I could not recall, where would the scene we saw fit into the original piece by Sartre, so I think an
entirely different story will be built for us.

Besides that it was an unforgettable experience seeing Rob just a few steps away from me, it
was even better to hear the opinion of the crew around on him. We asked one of them, to tell us
honestly, what kind of a person he is – not the performance delivered by him, but simply Rob as
this one guy, in private and as an actor at work.

According to the reply he is a kind lad, polite, kind, impossibly patient, doing everything he is
asked without the slightest complaint. He would not drive anyone mad with his allures. He is just
sitting silently, does his job when told so, and goes off reading when there is time for rest.
We just overheard an opinion, when a guy from the technical department walked over and asked the
others, who had not yet seen Rob: „Hey, have you seen Pattinson?” „Not yet.” „Man, what they did
to him… but as disgusting his character is, this appearance should just fit.”

At another chance to get warmer, we just walked into the shelter provided for the VIP, where Brady
Corbet was watching the scene being shot outside. (Actually he is indeed a small guy, very adorable
and a bit nervous. Maybe he was upset by the commotion in the neighborhood caused by the visit of
the German chancellor.) We were standing almost just behind him, watching the screens as Rob sits
in the car, Rob gets out of the car, Rob gets into the car, and finally Corbet said ”Cut!”… and then
Rob walked in to have a look of the shot. He watched it without a single frown, and just held up his
thumb.

We were almost at the melting point.

He left and they shot another scene.

By the way, I guess that the shooting of a film is such an unbelievable event: not really interesting,
but mostly tiring and slightly boring, unless there is someone to keep your attention. :)
We did not wait until the end of the day for Rob to leave the location. We saw the essence of it, we
were given more, than we hoped for, so I could not tell if Rob dressed up normally after he left or
not. I could also not tell how he looks like in plain clothes.

Still, the lines we heard and the answers we were given brought us some sort of a silent
complacence: Rob looks just the way as I imagined him. He has wonderful eyes *sigh, his voice
could be a cure for any illness, and he did not show any sight of being self-conceited as a movie
star.

We behaved like good kids, we did not push too far and did not even try to take backstage photos.
We did not disturb him as he concentrated on his role by popping up and asking for autographs. So
we are left only with this little story, told by heart.

Sarah Gadon, Max Irons & Jake Abel, All Talking About Robert Pattinson

Sarah Gadon, Max Irons & Jake Abel, All Talking About Robert Pattinson

Photobucket

A little round-up of people talking about Rob.
First up, Sarah Gadon mentioned working with Rob in this months "In Style" magazine about how she "forgot" what a big star Rob is. I guess it's easily done where Rob is concerned ;-)

Here's the excerpt from the article where Rob is mentioned. Thanks so much to Darja for sending us the scans
Celebrity is a subject she is becoming more and more familiar with. Recounting a story about R-Pattz, she confesses, "There are those surreal moments when you think, 'Wow, I worked with that person!'"
The two appeared on a French talk show, and Sarah recalls, "It was nuts. There were so many fans. In my head I was thinking 'Oh yeah, I guess I forgot you're this massive movie star'."

VMan did a spread featuring Max Irons and Jake Abel and they were asked about becoming the next Robert Pattinson

Here are the excerpts with the Rob mentions:
With this films they both enter that small pool of actors that have a shot at becoming the next Pitt or Depp. But these days everyone is asking..... Can you become the next Robert Pattinson?

Max: “It is a very lazy comparison, because Twilight was a phenomenon unto itself. Pattinson was chased down the streets of Paris before the films even came out. And he is doing well for himself. He has about five films with acclaimed directors lined up.(Kate: Well done Max. You're paying attention!)

Jake: “A lot of people expect us to knock the Twilight cast. But Taylor Lautner is a really nice kid. Robert Pattinson, I couldn’t imagine the tremendous amount of pressure he was under — and he earned my respect when I saw him fight for certain projects. Water for Elephants is a great novel, the movie is what it was. That’s not his fault. That’s the risk; we’re the face of projects.” (Kate: It was exactly what you would expect from a great novel...... A great movie!)

Both name check highbrow directors and repeatedly mention how Twilight paved the way for Pattinson to work with David Cronenberg on "Cosmopolis"

NEW: Robert Pattinson interview during Cosmopolis NYC promo - "It's my life. You sort of want to read it."

NEW: Robert Pattinson interview during Cosmopolis NYC promo - "It's my life. You sort of want to read it."

Photobucket

Part of this was posted already HERE but now there's more from this interview.

From Dispatch.com/NewYorkTimes Syndicate:
As you may have heard — it has been in the news here and there — Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart broke up this summer.

Actually, everyone has seen the stories — including Pattinson. “Yeah, I read it,” the 26-year-old British actor says during an interview at a New York hotel. “It’s my life. You sort of want to read it. You feel like you need to read it. It’s one of those things where you keep picking a scab. You know you shouldn’t be doing it, but it’s a weird kind of addiction. You desperately want to stop.”
About a month ago, a tabloid published photos of Stewart, Pattinson’s live-in girlfriend of four years, in an embrace with her Snow White & the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders. Since then, the media seem able to talk of little else.
“At times, I find the whole thing pretty funny,” Pattinson admits. “It is pretty funny. My life is kind of ridiculous to me. It’s so absurd at times.” Pattinson would rather talk about his new film, the David Cronenberg drama Cosmopolis. When the noted independent filmmaker, whose credits include A History of Violence (2005) and Eastern Promises (2007), gave Pattinson the script for Cosmopolis — based on the Don DeLillo novel — the actor could see himself as Eric Parker, the 28-year-old billionaire asset manager whose world falls apart around him as he rides in his stretch limo to get a haircut while wagering his company’s massive fortune on a bet. But Pattinson had one problem.
“I was honest with David and said that I loved his script, but I didn’t fully understand it,” Pattinson says. “I knew, if I tried to have a BS conversation about it, that David would call me out.”
Cronenberg, too, had some reservations — about Pattinson. “Could this British guy do a New York accent where it’s not agonizing?” the filmmaker recalls wondering. “Could he play that age? Does he have the charisma to hold the audience for the whole movie, because he’s literally in every scene? “I did my homework and watched Little Ashes (2008) and Remember Me (2010),” Cronenberg says. “I even watched interviews that Robert did. I wanted to know what this guy was like when he was just being himself. I wanted to get a feel of what he was like as a person. I wanted to know that he had a sense of humor, and he does.
“I finally said, ‘OK, this is the right guy.’  ”
Most of Pattinson’s films have required him to forgo his natural British accent, so he had no problem finding Eric’s New York speech patterns.
“I don’t even know what accent I was doing half of the time,” he admits. “I always found that the dialect was written in the lines. The voice was also part of the preparation. I wasn’t even trying to get a New York accent.”
His next film is, of course, the series-ending Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2, due in November. Cosmopolis is nothing like that, which is by design. “I try to do something different from vampire Edward Cullen each time I’m not doing a Twilight film,” Pattinson says. “I even try to make him different each time I do Twilight.”
As a child growing up in London, Pattinson had dreams of stardom, but they involved music. That he ended up as an actor still bemuses him.   “When I’m asked to write down my occupation, it’s still hard for me to write actor.”
After auditioning for Troy (2004) but not getting the part, Pattinson was cast in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) as the handsome, charming and doomed Cedric Diggory. Three years later, he began his turn as soulful vampire Edward Cullen. For “Twi-hards” dreading the end of the film franchise, Pattinson offers some words of hope. “I’m sure they’ll have a Twilight TV-series spinoff soon,” he says. “They’ll do it again.” That presumably wouldn’t involve Pattinson. There is talk of a film prequel, however. Would he be willing to play Edward again? “Who knows?” says Pattinson, laughing. “The only thing that creates a little bit of a problem is that I’m supposed to be 17 forever.”

Robert Pattinson talks to the Sun-Times: "I can’t make myself change. I can’t develop an attitude"

Robert Pattinson talks to the Sun-Times: "I can’t make myself change. I can’t develop an attitude"

Lots of giggly Rob in this interview. Too bad it wasn't video recorded because we can't get enough of that giggle.

Photobucket

From the Chicago Sun-Times:

It has been a summer of discontent for Robert Pattinson. Since his longtime girlfriend and “Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart was photographed in intimate poses with another man a few weeks ago, the heat on his life has been daunting.

How does he deal with it?”

“It drives you nuts,” he says of all the hoopla. “It’s just nuts.

“I don’t know how I cope with it. I really don’t know,” he says in a good-natured voice. (Tink: Yet he copes with it all so admirably.)

“At times, I find the whole thing pretty funny. It is pretty funny. My life is kind of ridiculous to me. It’s so absurd at time.”

Last week he fended off countless questions about the scandal while making the media rounds to promote “Cosmopolis,” his new film with director David Cronenberg (“A History of Violence,” “Eastern Promises”).

Through it all, he felt the love of his fans. The Twi-hards definitely have been Team Robert.

“I don’t credit that to myself,” Pattinson says. (Tink: That's because you're crazy and modest.) “It’s just that there is something elemental about the ‘Twilight’ books and the movies. The core story has connected to people.

“The fan love from that is kind of amazing. I guess it’s so much better than everyone hating you.”

By now he should have developed an attitude — if only he knew how.

“I want to change. I can’t make myself change. I can’t develop an attitude,” Pattinson says with a goofy giggle that is his trademark. (Tink: Never change Rob. You're awesome.)

Adds Cronenberg, “I’ve seen him even try to change and it’s pathetic.”

In “Cosmopolis,” based on the novel by Don DeLillo, Pattinson plays a 28-year-old financial whiz kid and billionaire asset manager whose world is exploding. He gets into his stretch limo to get a haircut from his father’s old barber while wagering his company’s massive fortune on a bet against the Chinese Yuan. His trip across the city becomes a journey as he runs into city riots, various visitors and intimate encounters.

Filming in a limo for so long wasn’t claustrophobic.

“I actually kind of enjoyed it,” he says. “In the beginning, I wanted to stay in the car for the entire day. But it was so unbearably hot. I couldn’t really do this method.

“The car made me really concentrate.”

The London-born actor does an American accent in the movie. “I don’t even know what accent I was doing half of the time,” he admits. “I always found that the dialect was written in the lines.”

This fall, he plays vampire Edward Cullen in “Breaking Dawn — Part 2,” meant to be the final installment of the “Twilight” franchise.

Fans of the series are about to enter the depression zone, and Pattinson offers some words of hope.

“I’m sure they’ll have a ‘Twilight’ TV series spinoff soon. They’ll do it again,” Pattinson says.

Would he ever play Edward Cullen again?

“Who knows?” he says. “The only thing that creates a little bit of a problem is that I’m supposed to be 17 forever.

“I’m not sure I can be 17 forever,” he says with another giggle.

He is excited to see what the future holds for him in Hollywood and elsewhere.

“Life is all about luck,” he says. “Getting to this point was lucky. I just hope that my luck holds out.”

Ask him what he knows about life at this point that he didn’t know when he was younger, and he giggles again.

“I basically have learned that I know absolutely nothing,” he says. “I thought I knew it all. Again, I knew absolutely nothing.”

Breaking Dawn Part 2 cast member talks Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart: "We all got a little misty — even Rob and Kristen."

From Celebuzz

There’s a new vampire in town — and she’s ready to sink her teeth into Hollywood.
Tracey Heggins plays Senna, the oldest vampire from the Amazon coven that fights with the Cullens against the Volturi, in the upcoming Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2. The movie, which hits theaters this fall, is the final installment of the Twilight franchise.
Celebuzz recently sat down with the stunning actress, who dished on the upcoming film, how Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart behaved on set, and what prank the entire cast pulled on the movie’s director.

...

Celebuzz: What was it like being cast in such a huge franchise like Twilight?
TH: It’s so funny, because I always say I’m just this little fish in this big, happy pond. Everyone from Rob, Kristen, to Stephenie Meyer– they were all so kind. As soon as Peter Facinelli walked on set, he welcomed us. It’s just been a blessing to be in fantasyland and to be an adult that can just play make-believe.

...

CB: The film’s director, Bill Condon, said it brought out a very paternal and motherly part of Rob and Kristen on set —aside from their swearing! Would you agree?
TH: Yes, Mackenzie had a swear dish, so each swear was per dollar. Some people said, “I’ll give you 20 dollars now before we even start working.” So, she whooped us all into shape with our dirty mouths.

CB: What was it like working with stars like Robert and Kristen?
TH: It was good because they were both really down to earth. It’s very scary to go off on a set with huge names. I mean, when you are number one on IMDB, it’s a little intimidating. But they were just cool, and Kristen was like a tomboy and was so down to earth. Rob was the same way. He actually has this almost self-deprecating, ‘Oh, did I just say that?’ And I understand why he did that because it made everyone else feel so comfortable. So thank you, Robert!

...

CB: What was it like filming the last scene of the series? Were there any tears on set?
TH: Yes, especially when we went back to re-shoot. It was really like, ‘This is over now.’ That was really rough. You feel like a void when it’s all done. No matter how much is in the movie or not in the movie, we spent a lot of time together. Everyone from all the behind-the-scenes people and wardrobe, etc. make a set happen. I’ll be honest: we all got a little misty — even Rob and Kristen.

Also talked about their experience directing the ensemble with their different acting styles and lastly, shaping the character of Georges Duroy.

VIDEOS: Robert Pattinson talks about earning respect in the industry, the haircut line and more + Paul Giamatti and Sarah Gadon mention Rob

Rob talked to Yahoo (UK) about being nervous with the infamous "want a haircut" line in the beginning. He thinks it's the worst delivery but we know how he talks about himself. I rather liked his delivery of "I want a haircut", "I need a haircut" etc throughout the whole movie. His delivery of that line changes as the day goes on. When you watch the film, listen to how he delivers that line each time he says it. Rob also mentioned having to earn respect in the industry and it made me smile. With the kinds of projects he has lined up, he's doing a great job. :)

"I Was Expecting Everyone To Walk Out" - A Modest Robert Pattinson Talks To The Huffington Post

Another new interview with Robert Pattinson this time with the Huffington Post.

Photobucket

CANNES, France -- Robert Pattinson has gone from playing a vampire to depicting another kind of bloodsucker – a billionaire financier whose world crumbles in the course of a nightmarish cross-town drive in "Cosmopolis."

The "Twilight" heartthrob stars in David Cronenberg's Cannes Film Festival entry as sleek, self-centered moneyman Eric Packer, who sees his fortune and sense of self evaporate during an eventful day in his stretch limo.

Pattinson's famously handsome face is on-screen in every scene, but "Twilight"`s young fans may be surprised and confused by a film that explores Cronenberg's fascination with physical, social and psychic violence.

The 26-year-old actor is not worried.

"If some 12-year-olds went to go and see that, or got the video for their birthday – sitting down and watching that, it's incredible," the actor said during an interview on a Cannes hotel rooftop. "I would love that to happen if I was a kid."

It's a bit of amiable mischief-making from an actor who wants to be known as more than doe-eyed vampire Edward Cullen, in love with human Bella Swan in the "Twilight" saga.

He said he craves the cinematic understatement that blockbusters don't always provide.

"I remember when I was in the first `Twilight' movie, I really wanted to not have Edward touch Bella, apart from when he saves her life and when they kiss the first time," said Pattinson, lightly rumpled but friendly and poised after a long day of press interviews. "I was thinking of the (Ang Lee) movie `Lust, Caution,' and thinking there should be this tension there the whole time – just standing near someone there's electricity. (Kate: Amazon now wonders why the movie "Lust, Caution" has a sudden run in sales)

Rob says: Definitely I mean I was just sitting around in London doing nothing before so uh now I'm in Belgium with loads of people screaming at me (laughs & man giggles) It's the opposite life since I had before.

Ashley says her experience is different than the fans because Rob is like an extended brother. It's very funny and she says Rob is the same person he was before, he's "absolutely hysterical". "It's very very fun."

TAYLOR LAUTNER, KRISTEN STEWART, AND ROBERT PATTINSON SIT DOWN WITH ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY TO DISCUSS RUMORS, FANS, MOVIEMAKING – AND HAIR.

NEW YORK – In the Twilight sequel New Moon, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are at each other’s throats over Kristen Stewart. Off screen, all three are loyal friends. In a candid interview with this week’s Entertainment Weekly, they share thoughts on rumors, fans, moviemaking – and hair.

EW: How are you all coping with living in a fishbowl?

Robert Pattinson: It really depends on the mood. When I met you last year [before Twilight came out], I was doing interviews very sporadically and I never got recognized. Now it’s like anywhere I go there’s immediate recognition. So there’s more of a responsibility…

Stewart: I don’t mind working every day. It’s just, suddenly, I have this other role. And that’s really disappointing. All I’d like to do is go outside with a book and figure out what to do with the day. And if I can’t do that, then I’m just going to sit in my hotel room on my balcony and chain smoke. [Pauses] I’m going to stop smoking. I’m not such a good smoker, anyway. It’s not in my bones. I’m gonna drop it.

Pattinson: The three of us have been working for two years [straight]. It does feel like your day has a shape just as soon as you wake up. I just forget what it’s like when you’re free.

Pattinson on his hair in Eclipse: I swear to you I’ve never experienced anything like this. It’s every single day. In Twilight, they wanted me to have extensions down to my hips.

Stewart: He’s a liar. He doesn’t remember. He’s remembering how they made him feel, but they were just, like, down to here [pointing to her shoulders].

Pattinson: So I told them, “Look, that’s just not going to happen.” I said, “It looks like this already – I’ll come to set like this.” I sound so stupid, but in a lot of ways the hair is 75 percent of my performance, so in the second one I said, “Listen, I need to tone down the hair. Let’s make it a little more real, a little bit more…Method.” [Laughs] And then in the third one, I’m doing fight scenes and there’s a strand going down my forehead and they’re like, “We need to do it again because no one will recognize you! No one will know who it is!” I’m like, really, is my face that generic?

Stewart: They want proof that you’re doing your own stunts, man!

Pattinson: I have to look like the poster at all times. Just in case they want to use any clip for the trailer. Any clip at all! There were about five people in different departments who, because of my forelock, ended up in tears.

NEW Robert Pattinson Interview from CINEMANIA Magazine (Mexico)

It's an interview from Cannes so it's new/old but this will remind you why you are ROBsessed. This is why we fell in love with Robert Pattinson :) It's long but SO worth the read! Thank you Vale from TwilightPoison for translating it! It must have taken hours :)

Thanks to TwilightPoison for the scans and the following translation:

It couldn’t be any other way: seductive stare, pale skin, innocent little smile, ethereal attitude, all make them seem like he’s not from this planet, or this time at least. It’s not so hard to imagine why he’s a vampire that can make anyone fall in love with him. As if that wasn’t enough, he’s kind, he has a great sense of humour and he likes to laugh at himself. Plus, he has nice style: tight black pants, white shirt with black stripes. It’s not strange to see why there’s hundreds of girls waiting for him outside our tent in Cannes film festival. Some of them are screaming from a terrace, screaming as though they could lose their lives without an actor’s smile or autograph.
But Pattinsson is completely unaware of it, on the contrary, he jokes about the suggestion of being a sex symbol. We start our interview with the distant cooing of longing fans, and with the certainty that a real star is being born.

“Mmmm… I can’t say anything about New Moon yet, I was asked to keep the expectations high, but I can give you a few details, is that ok?”, he says as soon as we sit down. “The place is rather peculiar, isn’t it?”, he jokes as he pulls the chair in which he will sit: a kind of throne that creates the mood for a very minimalistic and sophisticated place, and even though he looks very tired, since he hasn’t stopped giving interviews and attending red carpets of the French festival, he makes an effort to not show it and he gets excited when we start to talks after agreeing to his deal.

“I can say that the weirdest scene we shot was shot at a High School in Canada. When we got there, there were still plenty of students taking class, and I had to be floating around the place. It was weird, because the scene was very complicated. There was a feeling that I can’t really describe yet (laughs). I think, in general, this sequel will be much more complex, deeper and it will make my character have another dimension..” he assured us.

But there won’t only be transformations in this sequel, Pattinson himself has experienced a change in the way he approaches this territory. “When we were filming Twilight, I used to say that it made me nervous being around so many people of the crew. However, it was weird how this feeling changed in New Moon. It maybe has to do with getting used to what it means being on such a large set, and, in general, a super production. I was surprised at how relaxed I was the entire time, honestly. Which is not a normal thing for me. I felt very confident for the first time, I really understood the sense of the movie, where Chris wanted to take it and what we wanted to tell, the emotions, the mood, everything behind Edward.

“I learned a lot in Twilight, and I never realized until I came back for the sequel. That’s when I discovered the new tools I had acquired. For instance, the things that worried me the most were no longer important. You lose the fear of messing up, you learn to try new techniques, and that’s great. You earn new confidence as an actor, and more freedom as well. I hope this is a process that never stops.

“Now I understand why, with years, better roles come to you. You need a lot of experience to capture emotions with the camera and make the filming yours. But I think I’m on the right path. There’s still a lot for me to learn, though…”, he says.

Robert Pattinson Misses London Chronically

We posted the scans of this interview yesterday (Sunday Herald Magazine) this is the interview where he talks about how he misses London chronically, wants to play new gigs and maybe make an album...I have a sneaking suspicion that some people don't like reading scans so here is the write up :)

I am posting the parts with "quotes" from Robert Pattinson in that interview. You can read the whole article by Joanne Hawkins (who is a bit obnoxious about her descriptions of Rob and his fandom) HERE at the Daily Telegraph - Australia.

In fact, 75,000 fans signed a petition against the actor’s appointment and called for a boycott of the film – not the most auspicious start for a next-big-thing in the making. "That was my welcome into Twilight," he jokes now.
