This is a collection of some small news and tidbits for The Batman that I've looked at and wanted to share. Nothing huge regarding Rob but still all fun and interesting.
First up, legit news via The Playlist. Greig Fraser will be the cinematographer for The Batman. Some of his work includes Rogue One, Zero Dark Thirty, and Vice plus a previous film with Matt Reeves - Let Me In. His work is gorgeous. When I read he'd worked on Rogue One, many shots instantly came to mind that struck me when I first watched that film. Give it a watch or rewatch if you want to see what I'm talking about.
Hello, Mr. Fraser. 🦇— Matt Reeves (@mattreevesLA) July 25, 2019
Batman producer, Michael E. Uslan, had some thoughts about anxious fans: “My position is this: trust the filmmaker and give the filmmaker, and the filmmaker’s vision, the benefit of the doubt. Then wait ’til you see the movie.” Click HERE to read more from his interview via ComicBook.
There's someone who's not anxious AT ALL. Jaden Smith. Excerpt from Rolling Stone:
RS: From one Batman fan to another, how do you feel about Robert Pattinson getting to play Batman?
Jaden Smith: Oh my gosh, I don’t even know what to say. Amazing things are happening every day that you don’t even know. I don’t even know. I’m at a loss for words with how excited I am for him. It has to happen. It has to fucking happen. He will be the best Batman. I’m losing my fucking shit. That's the attitude to have. I love it. We even have Michael Jackson's sons weighing in. Now, Prince on the right sounds belligerent. I brushed his entire opinion aside. But Blanket on the left is thoughtful and open. This amused me.
So the pressure is on! As if Matt, Rob, Warner Bros, etc. didn't know this. But Oscar winning composer and good friend of Matt Reeves, Michael Giacchino, wanted to make sure everyone had a reminder. He got the Comic Con crowd to lay it on thick just in case anyone was breathing easy for a day:
Nothing like a little encouragement, @m_giacchino ❤️🦇 pic.twitter.com/gfua51uaUL— Matt Reeves (@mattreevesLA) July 18, 2019
All in good fun and support. :)
— Matt Reeves (@mattreevesLA) July 21, 2019Such a strange world we're in now...do our dark recesses even exist anymore? I leave you with Matt having cryptic fun on twitter and a Batman vid from Emergency Awesome speculating about Vanessa Kirby (who I love and totally see it) for Catwoman.
