As everyone knows by now, Robert Pattinson met Richard Gere on Friday when he attended a luncheon in honor of the silver-haired actor's awards buzzy film, Arbitrage, at Osteria Mozza in Los Angeles.
But what you may not know is that Gere didn't exactly realize how major the Twilight star was.
"He was a perfectly nice guy, but I had no idea," Gere told me at the Governors Awards. "But I was getting calls from my wife going, 'What are you doing with him? He's so cute, but what are you doing with him?'"
So Gere's better half, model-actress Carey Lowell, is a Twi-hard?!
"My wife is aware of these things," Gere laughed. "I don't know that she's a fan." (Kate: sounds like she's a fan to me!)

Well I'm a fan of Gere's wife now. I'll forgive Gere for now I hear he has been busy running a B&B. With the way Robs life/career is skyrocketing there soon shouldn't be anyone who does not know of him or at least some of his work. He can play such a wide variety of characters with such an expressive face. I absolutely just love watching him!!

Mrs Gere has wonderful taste ! Rob is a charmer . Richard already thought he was a nice guy after meeting him without knowing anything about him. people really like him for what the person he is . I just love that about Rob !

I'm sorry but that is a load of old bollocks, Richard Gere knew exactly who Rob is and is (albeit very politely) trying to poo pooh his fame and success by insinuating its all a Twilight thing. It's a business after all and actors know full well what other actors there are about the town and industry.
With all due respect, Mr. Gere... What? Have you been living under a rock or something? haha But if this is true, I think that makes Richard's opinion of Rob all the more genuine, valuable, honest, unadulterated,etc. :)

Being totally NOT in the demographic that Twilight appeals to, I can easily see how Richard Gere wouldn't know how big Rob is. He may know his name/acting from things like Cosmopolis, but that wouldn't give him any idea of the Twilight insanity. What I find interesting is that in the pictures of the two of them, they look like they're BFFs, but they really don't even know each other. You can't believe anything an actor does, can you?

oh yeah Jack Nicholson is the best loved him in the movie Terms Of Endearment and One Flew Over The Coo Coo's Nest they were the best movies ever when my mom. sister, and I saw Terms Of Endearment we sobbed it was so sad and the acting was amazing loved it

at 20 i swooned over richard gere in american gigolo.....now there is a movie rob could star in if they were to do a remake- the clothes, the swagger, the seduction...oh yeah.
i want to see him as a contemporary romantic leading man just once in the next few years.......being totally drool worthy.

Sorry to see you go Hannah, as far as I know you have been a gentle soul and positive poster here. Within this community we tend to converse with similarly minded people, and you obviously have made some friends. I probably shouldn't do this, but I tend to disagree about who encompasses the "heartbeat" of this blog, for sure Jennifer, but there's a long list of others who I think deserve credit/mentioning, and I'm going to go out on a limb and mention a few because if not for them, I would NOT be here, in no particular order: Sonja, Mysty/casey, Shantiquerose, ABV, bwen, blondelmel, maybird, aussiesnana, quillz, Robdicted and the ESC crew, blackbeanie, randomlylurking, Y muri, monique, kazrob, jaycee, the UK ladies (maria, elaine, etc), twilightsnumberone, georgiaspeach, Aprat, belladonna, judy, robfantastic, marna, and I know I've left some people out (sorry), but last and not least, Solas and Nikola. I'm not sure what they all have in common except that what they have to say is interesting, wise, funny or naughty, always supportive of Rob. They IMO are the heartbeat and soul along with others I've forgotten. They, along with Rob, are the reason I keep coming back. I don't know why you are leaving, but I'm sorry that you have not felt a part of the community and are disappointed with what's transpired lately...I don't know your mind. I love your last sentence and I wish you well.

I agree with you, but just because we are given a weapon, that doesn't mean we have to use it? Its so easy for some people to give others dislike, because they don't agree with the persons opinion, right? But guess what this wasn't the time nor the place.
I refuse to use that button, and I never will use it. I believe people are entitled to their opinions, and if i don't like it, I do one of two things, have a discussion, or I fucking walk away.

Thanks. I have my theory about the dislikes and truthfully I was not hurt by them, although surprised. I could probably put names to a few of them. Suffice to say, that people don't like being marginalized, and I did that, unconsciously, in 2 ways: (1) By naming names that some perhaps don't agree with and may have felt excluded from (though I gave a disclaimer), and (2) there are some lurkers/shit stirrers who I have disagreed with and called on the carpet for the content of their comments, to the point of bullying (so I'm told), so no surprise they would take the opportunity to give me a slap and click down. Sorry it had to taint my sincere disappointment that Hannah was leaving the blog.
It's good to not dwell or let the dislike hurt or bother you, because you give people like that less power over you. You're right they are not worth it.
You know, I find that a lot of people on this sight jumps to conclusions without reading some of the little thing that goes along with a comment, which most of the time make a persons comment more meaningful, like your disclaimer for instance.
I only hope we can all just try to be nice, have fun, and respect each others opinions.
My mon use to say...god made us all different for a reason, because the world would would be quite boring if we all think alike!! we look different, we speaks different languages, and we think differently. We are all unique in our own way and we all have a difference of opinion, on or about various topics.
I think it's crazy to carry a grudge, against someone just because you disagree with their opinion. I am trying to understand it and I can't? I am just perplex....like what do these people do in RL, when their opinions/beliefs are challenged?
I really cannot dwell on the negative that's on the site anymore, because its disappointing to see and read it. I have had disagreements here too, but I refuse to keep a grudge just because someone and I may have had a differing of opinions.
