WOW!!!! so looking forward to all of his upcoming projects! all of them sound awesome and they will give him a great chance to work with some very talented people and to gain even more experience and confidence.
and theater.....hmmmmm, i think it would be cool for Rob to do some theater stuff cause it would really help him to have more privacy, but at the same time his movies are the only available way me for to enjoy his work , so please no theter yet....yeah, i`m like really selfish!!!!!
I think he's worried about fans disrupting a theatre performance lol but yes he is making up for not filming anything for a while !!!
Really looking forward to all of his upcoming projects....
People have been moaning about Rob being done, but 6 projects in years is fantastic. He would be able to do theater or music between the end of filming and promotions. I've heard where some theater runs aren't very long depending on the projects. I think it's wonderful.
we will have 12546576 premieres in 2014 or what?:)
would you go and see him in theatre?
dah.....if only i could
I would love to go see Rob perform in the theater setting. I find it difficult to control my emotions though. I would be the one in the audience crying my eyes out over the least little thing! :P stick to movies in 2013 Rob ... give me a few years to get my feelings into check. ;D
rob in theatre-I have this image in my head-rob mobbed on stage be a crowd of women lol
so did he ...or women/girls screaming and interrupting the theatre performance ....
What a good, informative interview! Rob seems so self-conscious and/or disappointed that he hasn't been behind the camera for a year , but at least it seems as if he has made wise decisions. I only wish the best for him!
I would love to see him in a theatre production!
I'll bring the kleenex Jen.
So true. Years ago, I went to see a band called Dogstar at the Shepherd's Bush Empire (Keanu Reeves was on bass). The band were not great and to be fair, I don't know how the band got through their set (I left before the end, it was completely meh) because the women were there for Keanu (myself included, my husband was probably the only man in the audience). I've never been to anything like it then or since. It's not a way to watch a show really. Having said that, Keanu then did a run of Hamlet a lot later, in Canada, and that seemed to go down okay. David Tennant also did a run with Dr Who fandom at its height, despite the mania that surrounds them. Can you imagine the hysteria? OMG.
OMG! that was so annoying. That guy, the music, the constant flashing of scenes, and picture in picture. What country is that from? Spain? the broadcast must be geared toward the young rave crowd or something. But it was nice to hear Robert talk about projects we have only read about. I can't wait to see them all! He's right about theater. You cannot have people screaming out "I love you Rob!" in a theater setting.
I don't know if all of you have ever heard of Clay Aiken. He's from American Idol and has a huge screaming fan base of women mostly in the their 40's-70's. They are called Claymates (I admit I am one, but not to this extreme) and they love them some Clay and scream at everything he says. I'm not saying it's to the level of Rob's fan base, but they are vocal. Well Clay appeared in a Broadway musical in 2006, and before the run started, he posted on his website and everywhere he could think of, begging the women not to scream. He said it would embarrass him in front of the other actors and that it would distract them from their work. And for the most part it worked. He had a sold our run for months, and the fans were generally respectful of the theater audience and actors. I saw the play myself and we had a really great time.
I think he realises that some people in the audience would not be quiet that is why he said it would be "too intense right now" and it would be shame for the production to be spoilt by that - nice of him to be so considerate Bless him!
I had to stop watching this, why do they have to stick scenes from the movie in between Rob answering questions? It was bad enough with the screeching, but I don't want to see the friggin' movie too.
I would love to see it but I think I would be a nervous wreck throughout!!
Really?...I'd love to see him strutting the boards he would be mesmerizing!
I would have to see it several times before I could relax enough to enjoy it lol.......there's an excuse for multiple visits!!! Let's hope it would be near enough for me to keep visiting! Seriously I don't do live performances very well....nervous for the person on the stage, forget to breathe....that kind of thing :/ Even after years and years of shows and competitions with my daughters I'm still nervous for them!
LOL ;o)
When Paul Newman played Sweet Bird of Youth on Broadway in the early 60s, at the height of his good looks, during a dramatic moment one woman shouted "Hasn't he got the bluest eyes?".
Shame about the presentation, but at least we know that Rob has 6 movies lined up for 2013. That means plenty of good times for us in 2014/2015. And all his projects sound fascinating and so different from one another.
As much as I wanted to admire Rob from afar I'm very sure I will not be able to resist watching him doing a play.
For sure when the time comes I will hold my breath for the entire show. That's what happened when we watched my niece in a play,so scared she might forget her line and yet so moved by her performance. With Rob though I know he is professional,it will be the same way. That's what happens when the one we love is on the spot light.
I'd have to wear the strait jacket and someone would have to duct tape the mouth and tie me in the seat. I'd be screaming, blubbering, and trying to get to him onstage. Actually I'd probably be ok with just the duct tape. I know what it take to put on any theater performance. I am terrified to even speak in front of groups. In my youth, I wanted to work with the school and area theater group so bad I became on mean sound technician. I worked both played and concerts. My hubby takes me to the theater a few times each year and I used to go to every concert I could.
Rob doing theatre? I would love to see that, but that seems difficult right now. I just watched the reaction of the fans when he showed up at the Ellen show. Wow, it took them a long while to settle down. Even the fans at the Kimmel show screamed a lot for its duration. I guess it was just the excitement of seeing Rob in person. If he were to do theatre now, it would be very distracting for him and the actors if fans just screamed and fainted during the show.
Hi Ladies, I hope someone can help me...my internet won't let me watch this video for some reason. But what are the 6 movies Rob will be working on next year? So far the ones I know are the ones listed on the side bar here: Hold on to me, Mission Blacklist, Queen of the Desert, The Rover....what are the other 2?
Keep in mind that all talk shows have a funny guy, who goes out and revs up the audience before the cameras start rolling for every single show to infuse their enthusiasm and remind them to clap. So the excitement was amped up, not that it was needed for Rob. I would hope that people would police themselves (unless they're young teenagers), if Rob ever decided to grace a theater stage...and I'm thinking it would have to be a very unique, quirky, script/story that would get him to do a play, but one can only hope.
Thanks for this story ...it's really interesting! I always liked Paul Newman.
Okay so we have The Rover, QOTD, Hold On to Me, Maps of the stars. MBL...what's the 6th?
Oh, I would SO love to see Rob in something on Broadway. And maybe then even more people could see his potential, as we do here at Robsessed.
Of course, I don't know if we'd actually be able to follow the story, with all the sqeeeeeeeing going on... lol
But wow, what a visual! :)
Nobody has figured out what the sixth movie is, right?
How is it even possible to do six movies in a year? i've heard of actors doing 4 but 6 seems unfathomable. Aren't shoots 2-3 months long? Where is Nik?
The Band.
Oh, I would SO love to see Rob in a Broadway show. And maybe then even more people could see what he is capable of, the talent he posseses (people outside of the fandom).
Of course, it most likely would be difficult to follow the plot, what with all the squeeeeeeing going on...but oh, what a visual! :)
Rob had mentioned taking some supporting roles...maybe with the smaller parts (yeah, giggling at that phrase...) he could accomplish 6 films in one year???
Mission Blacklist and The Rover are major roles. I think Queen of the Desert, Maps of the Stars, and Hold onto Me are supporting roles but it still seems like a lot. Rob has said that he will be in Australia for 3 months for The Rover and that's only 1 film. Anyhow, I'd love to see him on Broadway.
Thanks for the answer. I'd forgotten about The Band, although I've heard a little about it. Isn't It's status is less stable than the others?
Baby is tired from all the promotional stuff, he'd rather be making movies. It's almost over, honey. Then you'll be back doing what you love. And we'll miss seeing you while you're filming, but you've given us lots of interviews to look at. Thanks for that, SugarMan. <3
I still want more, can't get enough!!
I remember him mentioning that in one of the last promotions for Breaking Dawn P1. What is The Band suppose to be about? I'd never heard it about except when he and Kristen brought it up in their interview with Josh H. on MTV.
Me too! What will become of us? Sounds like you're feeling better.. :-)
There have been actors in the past who have done at least 8 films or more, but it has been years since anyone has done it. The stars of old did it way back in the day. I didn't know it was even possible, but they did. Different types of movies and different times, but still quite an accomplishment.
I doubt it's The Band. This movie still seems a long way down the line. But you know Rob maths... Maybe there are only 5.
The Band is supposed to be about or inspired by the rock group The Band (The Last Waltz), a great group who also backed Bob Dylan in 1966. And released 2 great classic albums: Music from Big Pink and The Band. Rob could play either Robbie Robertson their leader or the drummer Levon Helm who died this year.
You don't have to feel bad, about saying anything in response to what I just told you. People, never know what to say. I just had to let you know. We don't even have to talk about it. Just want you to know. Everybody has or get some form of tragedy in their lives, and that was mine and my families. We're have moved on, and we are all good, and happy.
That's a hard thing to get over and you are so right about everyone having a tragedy and those who haven't are dreading it to be their turn. So my last comment disappeared without my help. How did that happen?
I would fly from Australa to the West End or Broadway to see Rob on stage as I have said many times I'm o excited about the next stage oh his career.. Can't wait for Thursday here in Perth off to Breaking Dawn 2.
He starts The Rover in January, Queen of the Desert is supposed to start shooting in March, Maps to the Stars in May. Mission: Blacklist should be in the summer. It leaves Hold on to Me. Maybe there is no 6th movie, you know Rob maths... It's up to his agent to see that he can make all these movies.
I would take the Eurostar to go to London or would fly to NYC to see Rob on Broadway.
It would be worth the fare!
It's great and shows his integrity that he has not accepted just any project but that he took his time to take on projects he really likes. And it's paying off handsomely.
I personally feel that with all these movies he will be filming, this will give his confidence a boost, especially if he receives great reviews for his performances. I do think with the critical success of Cosmopolis this has given him that spark to really go after diverse roles to showcase and build the confidence needed to succeed in theater. He keeps improving but he also needs that confidence that makes us believe his character not that it is Robert Pattinson onscreen, but Eric Packer, Tyler Hawkins, Edward Cullen, etc. I do believe in a couple of years Robert will grace us in live theater and I would certainly go and see that. I think it is very sweet his genuine admiration for Daniel Radcliffe and what he has achieved, I believe Robert can achieve the same thing, he is doing it methodically and at a slower pace, because lets face it, as much as I admire Daniel, Robert's popularity is in the stratosphere compared to Daniel and from interviews that Rob has given it seems he feels the pressure of having to outshine his Edward Cullen persona and to prove that he is not a one hit character. He will do it, and with all these films lined up, I could not be more proud that he seems to really want this now and he will show those critics he is not one trick pony.
One is Maps to the Stars, the Cronenberg movie. But I think the 6th is due to Rob maths...
Nice interview with Rob in the San Francisco Chronicle.
yeah I would love it if he could do the play RENT oh man he would be perfect as the charater Roger I wish he would do a play oh that would be awesome :)
oh I wish! that would be so awesome but I would only get too see it one time!
so I guess it is offically set in stone that Rob will be going too Iraq too film Mission Black List and I don't like it I wish they could film it in either Australia or the US :(
can you imagine seeing him on a stage live and in person doing a play OH man!!!
LMAO!! as for me I would be in a coma seriously LOL!
oh yeah that looks about right! :D
I have read the book and it does sort of make sense that they film in one of Saddam's palaces. Maybe they will just film the outside bits there and then move to studio mock-ups. I can't see the studio's insurance allowing him to be put at risk.
DAMN straight I would!!!
yeah ya know that might true and I don't blame him us women would be on our best behavior that is for sure but the younger fans I have too say I don't think so
that was so well said I agree and with that standing ovation he got from Cannes, goes too show that he did in fact shut the critics up and he proved that he is a serious actor and that he has worked so hard too get where he is at and I do hope one day he will do some theater and yeah I think too that it is very sweet too of Rob's admiration for Daniel Radcliffe the dude went on stage did a play called Euqus(sp??) and stood for ten minutes naked at the begining of the play! that took guts too be able too do that! and DR is a very talented actor I think and I am looking forward too see more of his film work and as well as the rest of the cast I do highly recomend The Perks Of Being A Wallflower it is a BRILLIANT movie Emma Watson is in it and I am waiting for it too come out on DVD I can't wait! and I a can't wait too (hopefully) see Rover :)
Thank you for answering. That would be a really good project for Rob to work on. I obviously don't know about this group or anything, but I would love to see Rob involved in a musical role where he could display that side of his talent.
I'm thinking by the time Rob actually has the time and security to consider doing live theater, those "younger fans" will be history. Some may stay with him for the long run, but its the core, diehard fans (that would be us) will be filling those seats and glowing with pride, and a few tears.
