he's so beautiful. def matured since harry potter. *drooling
oh, so gorgeous))) always a pleasure to see him live) now waiting for the K&M show)
Ok I missed the last part, the video stopped what did she ask him about his business. I just hope she didn't ask the same question she asked Kristen. Grr... from what i saw gah so funny and cute
he's getting good at avoiding questions...
Definitely sooo beautiful. Love the hair cut, so happy looking, cute little quilted vest under his jacket (must have been freezing in NY), good interview. Lucky ladies who were there to see him in person - wish it had worked out for me to go. Now for the next 2 interviews today!
yes, she asked him the same question... if he & kristen were back together. he sidetracked well by saying he didn't know what her response was.
Great answer Rob :)....don't tell them anything....non of their business !!!
I gotta say that the Today Show gives us the most disappointing TV interview i've seen with Rob. The same questions again ! And am I mistaken or is it really the only show that can't stop asking about their relationship status? Last time he said he wants us to know "cinemon toast crunsh has 30 calories". They think that has changed ? They ask the question just so they ASKED the question and make it annoying for everyone. But the fans want to know blababla. Perfect answers from Rob though. Rob was his usual sweet self. Loved his answer to the first usual question. "It's just a slow death from now" . LOL
why cant they leave them alone??? its none of our business!! grr i really don't like this woman....
I think he's getting better at answering the question and telling them nothing :) she just looked silly I think !!!
It's funny how he sort turn the question around on her... clever, cleaver man.
Boo to the Today Show. How tacky of them to interrogate Kristen and now Rob about their relationship status! Hint: it's none of your damn business.
I loved his answer to that question lol. I also loved how he said "well it doesn't have to become personal. it only becomes personal if you answer it"
By the way baby looks great. Love to see him smiling.

You guys need to be a little more understanding the other way around as well. If you guys haven't noticed - news is about putting your nose into other people's business 24/7. I'm sure that lady could care less who's dating who when there's much more going on in the world. Sadly it's her job to ask these questions. I'm sure someone told her to ask the question and it's not like she pressed him. He avoided the question and she casually moved on. No judgements for rob and kristen but you guys need to learn how to feel that way about everyone else. This is a two way street. Everyone has a right to their opinion and the minute it disagrees with yours you get irrational and defensive, it's because you put your ego into your claims and it hurts to be questioned.
Rob if you come on here and read our comments. Your true fans don't need to know your business....
I believe it was Good Morning America that asked Rob the other relationship question during his Cosmo promo. George Stephanopolus or something like that. Both Rob and Kristen deflected quite well this time I think.
I don't think I am irrational or defensive... and I thought it was funny how he avoid the question, but as a news show and he's there to promote a film, it's would be nice if they would leave that part out of the interview and just talk about his work. That question was thrown in there like a tack on... the same with Ms. Stewart. :;-) JMHO
Well we already know Jimmy Fallon is gonna be a hoot!! And at least Kelly seems to be either a fan of the movies or just more knowledgable about them.
Ok. Here I go again. First of all, I'd like to say that these morning talk shows are all the same. They all try to out scoop each other & never give a crap about the comfort of their guests. Then you have this stupid asshole fan outside that tells him to "sign it nice"!!! I was so proud of Rob when he said to her," How do you sign it NICE??" I was SO glad that they got that on air because that girl was a DISGRACE !! She was lucky enough to be there & then she had the nerve to say that to him. I really wish that I was standing there next to her when she said that because I think I would have ripped her head off......that stupid!@#$%^&*!!!! Then there's Matt Lauer, making a comment that Rob "already insulted him" outside while he was signing & made a comment how he could be standing there naked & nobody would notice him because Rob was there. Well...he got THAT right!. The smirk that Rob gave him was priceless! I thought that he was really a little off & looked a bit pissed off & nervous during the interview. You could tell that he was really trying to keep it together, really trying to joke a little & laughing a lot & probably waiting for HIS ambush. It's gotta be so hard always having to be ready to deflect a question on the spot like that. I'm sure that it was all set up that way to try to get him to spill his guts on their show. What a disgrace. Shame on them. That being said, I'm now going to watch the Kelly show. Let's hope that Kelly has some class.
I always read the comments before I watch his interviews with The Today Show for the exact reason you guys are talking about. I hate it when they ask him about that shit. It makes me very uncomfortable. I can only imagine how uncomfortable it makes him. Ugh! I might just have to skip this one.
It was great how Rob turned tha tables on her and asked if it was in her contract to ask him that question because who really wants to know? I think we've all figured it out...
Rob was looking absolutely gorgeous ! loved the snazzy waist coat !!Rob's answered her uncomfortable question with another question ....priceless and very very clever !
Oh boy! Rob is on the Kelly show with THE BELLYDANCE SUPERSTARS!!!!!! He's gonna love that!!! Remember the YouTube video he showed on the ELLEN show last time?
haha yes that was funny :D
I think Matt was just trying to show how popular Rob is with his comment. I thought it was kinda funny. But I would like to know what that whole insulting him already was about. Maybe Matt was just referencing that he was insulted that no one was screaming for him and wanting HIS autograph!
It would be nice but you understand that it's also her job, right? Just like if any politician was involved in a scandal it would be confronted as well. Its people's personal lives, I understand that. I'm just also understanding that it's an interviewer's job to ask. When you ask rob how his dog is doing, that's also his business not yours. You have the information that he has the dog from the media. He didn't tell you personally that he has one. So as far as it go it should not be asked and it shouldn't be your business. It's because the "relationship" context is more controversial than the "dog" question. I actually think she asked the question very well. She didn't hound him and she wasn't upset that he avoided it. She was as gracious as he was.
It's the tv show we criticize and i think it's more important than ever to do so because the media world develops into a gossip talking, pappz intruding, lies telling mess. it is a two way street, yes. Rob gives us movies as well as a lot other information about his private person he is willing to share but asked for one thing: respecting his privacy in his relationship. and other tv-shows do that even though it's their business too. MTV, Kimmel, Ellen,....
Oh... I understand... it's just that really, aren't they smart enough to know that after four years they've NEVER talked about it. What make them think it's going to start now. Does one of these show think he's going to start now? And he did say that he's adopted a dog.
It's like a waste of time when something else could be asked or wish him luck with the rest of his movie career. :-D
I say "you never know". Maybe they will hit a point where they just say "f*ck it, yeah". He knows that it can be asked at any time during any interview. There is always that possibility.
Because of the proliferation of talk shows, there is always going to be that one that will try to get some kind of scoop, because it probably is in their contract to try and get something from the person they are interviewing, so they receive the ratings. However, it is how the person who is asked, how they respond, and in the past I never understood why it was so difficult to tell these interviewers, it is my business. Period. He has mentioned a couple of times about not selling his relationship, but usually he acts very awkward, but today, I loved it because he just basically reversed the question on the interviewer, "who exactly wants to know". I still wish Kristen and Rob would just say it is a private matter, end of the story. He is becoming better, but I would like to know if they do have media training courses per Ken Baker of Live on E when discussing Kristen and Rob at the afterparty. Believe me when I say Ken Baker calling their afterparty pda, which was minimal at best was not a stunt, it certainly did not appear to be by what I have read. Sorry for getting off track, but I did not want you to think I agree with him, but I wanted to know if they do have classes in speaking with the media? i know probably Rob and Kristen would not attend, but I do feel badly when they are confronted with these sort of questions, and I wish they would have some qwip that would teach the interviewer a lesson for asking personal questions. I did love Robert's response today. Bravo my good man.
Always.
"Gasp" Clever Mizzzar. :-D Light bulb moment, I've watch the other shows you've mentioned and they have never asked about his private life even tho they have been on them so much.
Yes, he 's was clever... and on another note. Gosh... he was so pretty today.
I think I melted when he said he believes in love at first sight on Live w Kelly and Michael
YEA!!! FINALLY........what a difference!! He really looks like he's having some FUN! He looks AMAZING in that sweater.:}
"Maybe they will hit a point where they just say "f*ck it, yeah"
LOL
He handled it well and looked great while doing it. I loved his answers and the way he said that he don't have to answer; he can talk nonsense instead. So smart! I wonder if he got to talk to Roger Moore.
Like I said in the response above, there is always that minuscule possibility that it can happen in any interview doesn't matter who with. Now, the today show in particular is known to ask it every year. If Kristen or Rob truly felt unhappy with their experience with the Today Show, they would ask to skip that venue. And if your response is "summit makes them" that's also untrue. Summit wants to keep their relationship details as discreet as they do. It's the speculation that they love. (By "they" I mean summit) it's that mystery factor that keeps people talking and eventually watching the movie to see if they can dissect any clues. All media is manipulated, including the ones that Rob must promote. Remember when "Push" was hitting theaters so they had pictures of Rob with Camilla Belle. Then as soon as the movies stopped you never saw them hang out again. Unfortunately and fortunately ;) Rob happens to be a very handsome man and his love life will always be ponder-worthy. Everyone still cares about Leo and everyone will still care about Rob. He won't be damaged by the occasional onslaught of awkward questions.
Is it in your contract? more directly than Kristen's answer...BRAVO,
ROB! We were sure that you already know that your fans do not want you
to answer/to be put this stupid questions most likely because we do not
need words to understand what you and Kristen feel.
Kelly&Michael, that's what I call a great show ! LOVED IT ! Gummy bears come from Germany , it's cult here.
Really fun show. And THAT is how you do it! I wonder if Rob's offstage watching the bellydancers!
He looked gorgeous, as always!! But they just can't resist 'the question', can they?! Sheesh. When will they learn is has NO desire to talk about his private life?! He handled it so well though...loved "Is it in your contract?" hahaha
Rob looks great. The Today Show hosts need to fuck off and find another job. They're idiots.
Doubt it. Once you tell the press something about your private life the questions get more and more intrusive. Better not to start giving away information.
I can't wait for Jimmy Fallon tonight! I love Jimmy & whenever he has Rob on it's always fun for both of them. Jimmy Fallon is one of the best!
there are interviewers and tv-show you know you can have fun, and others you expect not much from. tastes are different and i prefere those that i can respect. Kelly&Micheal was great ! funny, lovely, interesting. all I want to see in a tv show with Rob.
You work for NBC?Or are you the stupid asshole that asked him to sign his autograph "NICE"?
She did not do very well. Her very first question, Does watching love scenes make you uncomfortable? he deflected immediately with the "What have I got all over my legs?" and "I think I've just fallen into some mud." Haha--the MUD is the Today Show crew of interviewers. He's so creative at this dodge-ball. Just love him!
Loving that quilted vest--still into the black 'n' blue.
Just out of curiosity no malice in this question. Why doesn't Rob or Kristen just say "I'm sorry that is my private life and I would like to keep it private" just a straight serious statement. Why do they just avoid it or want to "keep them guessing"?
Actually, Rob was asked that question during Cosmopolis promo in New York (Good Morning America?) and he did say something about wanting to keep his personal life private.
Ah yes, meltdown around Rob, a common occurrence around here !!!
I say it all the time but, Awwww Rob! Free, giggly and a you-aren't-gonna-get-me-down attitude. He knew they ambushed Kristen yesterday and he was prepared for it. I think his tactic of sidetrack and stonewall is actually brilliant. He continues to engage in the interview, looking adorable and silly, but he also comes across loud and clear that he's just not going to answer it. At the same time, he completely turned it right back around on her in calling out her behavior but he did it in an almost sweet way, rather than being confrontational about it. And, if you look at his track record (for all of those who feel that he's changed his tune for whatever reason) he essentially gave the same answer he always has, the answer he did give directly to Stephanopoulos in August. "I'm not here to sell my personal life. I'm here to sell a movie." If only... meh, never mind.
But, on to the oh so much more important stuff. Sweet man is sweet and beautiful and smiling and THAT is what I want to see. Well played, Mr. Pattinson. Well played.
They know that already and ask anyway. And i like their choise of answer much more than a straight boring blablabla....
Just to say thanks for all the updates. Been very busy the last couple of weeks and have missed a lot of Rob BD promo. I will catch up later. Thanks peeps for the updates and keep loving our ROB! CIAO
I totally agree with you, but last time it was Good Morning America. I do think he answered it better than Kristen did yesterday. I swear these shows feel they have a right to know about their personal lives. They need to stop wrapping the question in a "fans want to know" preamble and own that they want to know.
I would suggest that Rob and Kristen take The Today Show off their junket list the next premier they do. That was totally unprofessional and she knew it. And to top it all, she asked THE EXACT SAME QUESTIONS that each and every journalist has asked. Where is the creativity? Maybe she thought she would get a scoop by asking the one forbidden question. Loser Chick.
Very handsome, I liked his look in Today, but loved his styling, especially with the jacket off on Kelly and Michael, he was devine.
At what point should a journalist stop asking questions? I think our difference in opinion lies there. I don't mind a journalist asking the questions no one wants to answer. It's those questions that the truth is embedded. I understand the hardships of constantly being in the public eye but there are also a lot of benefits of having that fame and power. I respect Rob as an actor and based on the interviews I truly believe he is a genuine and kind individual. With that said, I don't find him being victimized at all. Every job has its hardships and you take the good as well as the bad. I know from saying that I'm going to get accused of not being a true fan. I am a true fan but I'm not an obsessive fan. I watch all his movies and I think he is a talented actor who tries very hard at what he does. But I personally would never try to seek him out for an autograph and a few strands of his hair. And if I saw him at a bar having a beer and trying to hide, I would never go up to him because THAT is intrusive in my opinion. I know a lot of fans would give up his position in a sec if it would mean a sign or picture. And it regards to just journalists, it's a love-hate relationship. We need them to find out the truth and we hate them because they squeeze into places we don't want them to go.
That was at a point in time where you can tell it was a touchy subject. And it was at a time where he was promoting a movie entirely different from twilight. Now he's been pictured with Kristen holding hands and smiling so maybe he wanted to yell it from the rooftops, who knows? As much as you all wish you knew what he was thinking or how he really feels, you don't. Unless of course you personally know him or have secret access to his diary. So why not just ask for asking's sake? Yes, it is nkt their business but what question is? if everyone stayed out of everyones busness, trust me, it will be a very paranoid place. I try to stay impartial when it comes to these situations because as much love as there are in this site for rob there is twice as much hate for any one with a difference in opinion. He's a great guy and actor but you don't need to put him on a pedestal and act like he commits no wrong. Here is a perfect example, during the filming of Cosmopolis, they went to the NYSE to promote. If you have read the book or seen the movie, that would be the LAST place to go. I'm sure he didn't choose that place personally but it's a bit shocking to see.
But during that rapid fire all they asked were personal questions. "Who was your first kiss?" You don't think that's intrusive?
Oh and just an FYI - I personally don't give a hoot about their relationship. I don't care if they break up. i don't care if they get married. i don't even care if he marries A robot. I'm just throwing it out because I genuinely saw nothing wrong with her approach.
Okay...you need to relax and recognize the difference between actual insults and good-natured teasing. It was a humorous comment on Rob's insane popularity. Rob has a great sense of humor and doesn't take himself too seriously; so you shouldn't either. When Matt said Rob had "already insulted" him, he ALSO said, "we're going to have a little fun with that later!" These people (Lauer and Co.) are paid to be entertaining when they are doing their entertainment segments. Robert is not the President discussing the economy or Hurricane Sandy; he's an actor promoting a movie. Lighten up. He's a big boy and handled the invasive questions well.
again, i think there is one question he asks not to be ask and that is what should be respected. to your second part of your comment about true fan. i would never go to him and ask for a signiture, especially not in his freetime. and i don't like it when fans do that. it has nothign to do with not being a true fan, only with showing respect and perception on right and wrong.
"Sadly it's her job to ask these questions. I'm sure someone told her to
ask the question and it's not like she pressed him. He avoided the
question and she casually moved on."
Thank you. It amazing how few people understand how this works. She's doing what her bosses are PAYING her to do. Rob is doing what HE is being paid to do. He was clearly expecting the question and he deflected it in perfect Rob-style, which no doubt SHE expected. Let it go.
They ARE smart enough to know. They will STILL ask and ask and ask. Watch reporters at ANY press conference. They ask questions over and over and over until they get an answer that they consider satisfies the question. If they don't get a satisfying answer, they will ask infinitum. That's just how it goes.
Oh, and I believe she did wish him well with the rest of his career.
There are questions that a lot of people ask to not be asked but when you're in the public eye you expect that to be ignored. If a politician was involved in a scandalous affair and they wanted to have an interview without that scandal brought up, do you think the journalist should respect that politician's wishes? I, personally think that it should be ignored. When a person is interviewed, they must expect the hard questions too. When you have the power to have certain questions not answered that's censorship and that's how media gets manipulated. Just like the comments situation we have here. Everything is out in the open. Everyone no matter what their opinion is, can have a voice here. It's when you start omitting here and adding there is when you have your right taken away. He will always have the choice not to answer and she will always have the choice to ask. That is my distinction between right and wrong.
They've both said variations on that exact statement before. People still ask, so they've turned to deflection. Rob is better at keeping it humorous, though.
Jeez I stopped watching the Today show interview because I could not stand the chic who was interviewing Rob, what a let down. She was just boring , dry and rude. Not a fan of the today show to begin but with Rob they always fall on their faces. I wish Rob could ban them from his promos they don't deserve to interview him. I love how they try to be "serious" journalists, it makes me laugh. Rob did a great job!
i have a different view on things than you it seems and thats why we should agree to disagree now....btw, the politican example is a complete different case from my point of view.
Being impartial on a Robert Pattinson fan site is harder than being an atheist in a church. I'm going to get banned for not loving him enough...
oh boy, i think everyone discussed in a friendly way with you even if we disagree. for me it has nothing to do with being a Rob fan, for me it is a general discussion about the media. but okay, that's it from my side.
If you didn't want to debate you should've deflected it rob style ;D. And I don't see the difference. But I will agree to disagree. And even if you weren't willing to change your opinion, I was open to changing mine if you convinced me enough. It's because you put your own emotions behind it that you feel attacked when I disagree with you. No need. Keep an open mind and put your ego aside during a debate.
Relax. It was a joke. Rob makes tons of them, you should be used to it by now. You're getting a little too revved up over a little discussion. Rob is an intellect he respects a good debate. I'm sure if I discussed this directly with him, he wouldn't be as.... exasperated.
I so wish that either Rob or Kristen would have said..."So tell me about your life, who are you married to, how often do you have sex. You know the whole world wants to know" This interview sucked :( Kelly & Mike were funnier and Rob was great!!!
These are not journalists, just to be clear. Could call them entertainment reporters at best, but mostly fall into the category of celebrity-style hosts. Basically they can ask any question they want with an eye to increasing ratings, which is the bottom line. Which is why they are not journalists. Asking a question you know will be stonewalled takes some skill and a good knowledge of your subject. Neither was in evidence, nor likely to be.
Mizz: I think journalism and entertainment are two different categories, and it would be best if interviewers knew which job they are hired to do... ;-) And that's my 'ego' talking...lol
i agree, it can be two different categories, but i feel it's not in all cases. gossip journalism, what is that? i think it's entertainment too.
Good grief, that woman was SO annoying! I can't believe she felt she had the "right" to ask that question to Rob after springing it on K yesterday! Stupid idiot! Pity she didn't fall off her chair... now THAT would have made good telly & made Rob's day too, I bet! ;oP Rob handled it brilliantly, though. Flove him forever! <333
Well, I don't even classify the gossip reporters as journalists. I think their job is 'entertainment' and it's best if they stick to that and not try to pretend otherwise. It never works well if they don't, and this interview is a case in point. It's almost a rareity these days to see them actually ask about the job he does. Like interviewing an electrician about wiring and asking them what colour they painted their house instead...the disconnect is always absurd, and only the better listen to their subject and respond -- an art which creates the interesting material and interviews. Adding: and putting your subject on the defensive gets a 'response' but never draws out the 'reveal,' which is what they want. :-)
I like GMA better. and that Savannah chic i'm not cean on
Wow was that necessary???
what is rob answers? sorry my english it's not good. i don't understand what rob said. i just watched his handsome face. actually i don't understand every his interview what he said. , but i'm still wached because i'm fans fans rob.
he is ..sweet and handsome and boyish and all man...wow..I was there..and WOW!!! I am still in cloud nine...lol
nooooo...I didnt see the vids yet but I was there and if I had heard that girl...I dunno...I was so out of my mind that I was not hearing anything around me...LOL
but you are right. she didnt need to do that...
he is fabulous. I am still shocked... just got back to hotel room...will try to send my pics from this morning...BANG! He was so nice to take a picture with me, but guess WHAT!!!! I was soooooo nervous that I got only him in the pic... LOL but it`s ok.. It`s worth the waiting .. it was cold! but so worth... He is everything and anything ...perfect.
The last big pic and the second little? the one behind...it`s me... I was wearing my glasses...
WHAAA? Omg dra I'm soooo jealous! You met the Pretty?! Ahhhhhhfkdjdjdj!!!!!
i think matt just kidding,in my country(asia) tv show is just about fun, entertaining, informative, not serious like news, but it's my country not US, not hollywood.
Unfortunately GMA asked Rob the same question during Cosmopolis promo.
YEAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I am screaming here!!!! But this morning I was too shy... couldnt scream... BUT HE IS....no words. I was soooooo nervous....could take the pics right!! Damit.LOL
Did anyone notice they spelt his name "Robert Pattison" during the beginning of the interview. Anyways, loved his approach to the intrusive question by deflecting it back at the interviewer!
I agree with your and also with Rob's comment..."it only becomes personal if you answer it"..and that's the beauty of intelligent man like Rob is..you don't have to answer anything that bring your personal life in public..it's so simple...
I wish to refer to your opinion that assist to the NYSE to promote Cosmopolis was the last place to go, because at the time I gave a thought too, but I came to the conclusion, that the opposite was very interesting, what was done .Considering that it was not activism, but to promoting a film, this is art and art is always working with contradictions and paradoxes. The artists and social scientists as well, always aspire to observe and extract knowledge of all realitie for the creation and inspiration, with eyes of a child over an adult prejudiced.Became more clear watching the adorable video of Rob and David, leaving the place, while David listened to a phone (¿what comes out of these phones?),and Rob´s look and smile,waiting......like children in an unknown world and mythic at once (good or bad ) .Like artists. On the other hand we can even look at it as activism, if we think that this world would find out and become aware of Cosmopolis, the book and the movie .... not you think?
Lucky lucky girl. How fantastic that you were there. That's really great. :)))
Though the screaming can get annoying, it kinda makes me smile that Rob is so popular and that people love him, want to see him etc.
you are so right, Mizzz ! Rob has done a great and constant job defending their rights as human beings !
How lovely to see his patience in signing for all the fans and even taking the photos himself with their cameras - how kind is that!
thank you grand, i think the same. :-)
Lucky girl!!!!
Watching the fan video it was fascinating to see how Dean keeps his eyes on Rob, yet scans the crowd every couple of seconds. He's definitely good at his job. Robert was exceptionally beautiful this morning, I have to say.
Last time it was Good Morning America...but really, does it matter? The Today show asked Kristen yesterday, and him today. They know he won't answer. It's ridiculous. Just do like Jimmy Kimmel and have a fun interesting interview without delving into his personal life.
When she asked Rob if he was back together with Kristen, Rob said why are you asking, is it in your contract that you have to ask. He didn't answer the question.
I know, when did this blog stoop to that kind of language? Remember we are supposed to be respectful to each other. Wow
Okay, so it's my first time to comment, though I've been lurking for a while! I only discovered the greatness of Rob a little over a year ago after watching 'Water for Elephants' and seeing him do press for BD part 1. He seemed like such a likeable, sweet (and, yes, very hot) guy that I only then finally got into Twilight ... And now I'm completely hooked! Anyway, I'll admit that his relationship with Kristen was initially part of my interest, but that passed quickly. He is so talented and charming and, well, you all know. So I just get frustrated when interviewers ask the relationship questions. I know they want the soundbite, but why not be more creative? I mean, it's Rob! He gives great interviews! The ones that don't ask are always more enjoyable (Josh, JK, Kelly, Ellen, etc). Plus, actors make movies that often idealize relationships, but they have real relationships like we all do - why care so much if they are dating? I really appreciate this website bc it does focus on Rob and supports him. I just wish some interviewers/press would spend more time doing that and less on the gossip stuff! Sorry for rambling first time out of the gates here!
It just shows once more the low level of this show IMO :/
Dra, that's awesome... hope you have recovered yet from seeing him live and in colour with your own eyes... ?
;-)
Rob kept it real........he is sp right.......if you don't answer the more private personal questions.......then you do keep that part private. I mean lets put it this way..........how would any of us like basically strangers.....asking you about your love life, personal crisis to broadcast it to the world to hear???? He may be famous but he doesn't have to be an open book!!!!!! The tabloids will always speculate to create stories but unless it comes from those directly involved ....all it is is tabloid tales.
Nice post., welcome to the Rob loving talking.
