It can be difficult sometimes but it is just part of my life in Ontario there is an expectation that you will have a learning plan throughout your career and in order to be relicensed each year as an RN I have to have proof that I have been maintaining that standard of continuing education and staying abreast of the latest developments in my profession..

My son Brian has to go thru the same thing. It's pretty intense...but when you think about it lives are at stake,..so yea, it doesn't get more intense than that. It's much more than just a job that's for sure. He's working thru to Saturday (ot). So we'll do Thanksgiving on Sunday. We used to switch it up like that when I worked. I always went for the overtime ,too.

Oh yeah shifting the holidays around to accommodate the 24/7 shift workers always fun. And when I lived in California my husband always wanted me to celebrate my Canadian holidays as well..it was us to much so I put a stop to it.

I found that the overtime just bumped me into another income tax bracket and I wasn't seeing enough of difference in my pay cheque to make it worth my while. And they frown on ICU nurses doing to much overtime up here because of the risk factors.

Yea we try to get her in nursing school but it's so hard she thinks she can't do it..only a few from Brian's class made it..but I'm so proud of him ..he made top grades the whole time plus held down a job..It was very hard for them but will pay off in the long run.

Now that is dedication! And it isn't easy ... even back when I first went into the profession but good for him for sticking to it!

Well....it's very rare for me to sleep through, ever. When I eventually have to catch up, basically the only difference may be that I sleep for 6 maybe 7 hours or so or just that I sleep all the way through the night.

The people from Newfoundland and have a very distinct dialect as do many of the Maritime provinces. Quebec is bilingual and many of the people there have a decidedly French accent. People from Ontario stick out like a sore thumb in the Western Provinces.

Maybe..Forks,WA? On the bts do those folks have an accent? I don't think Montana..wait I don't have a clue about most states..so process of elimination might work best..So looking at your map the entire south from Texas to GA to KY..accents with Louisiana having the thickest (ragin' cajun) beyond that to the north you'll get various degrees of Yankee accents ..distinct and different in their own way ..Maybe Arizona, Colorado..they don't have an accent that I know of..

Every region in the US has a slightly different dialect I guess if I had to pick from my limited knowledge I would say they learn to do it if its necessary for their profession or their social position its called proper diction and elocution. lol

I did go onto decaffeinated for quite a while. I had found that I was drinking my coffee stronger and stronger and thought I should at least drop the caffeine. Then I couldn't get the right brand one time and went back :-) Back to strong again now ;-/
It's very addictive..I love Wendy's coffee best..McDonald's too weak..Some times i go to town just for a cup or two!

I was only referring to showbiz Canadians (and there are a lot of them)..I don't know any regular ones ( except you) and I wouldn't presume to know the language there, but I do remember 'eh' from SNL.

Awwwww - Thanks Lolli - I comment more than I read on here and/or I'll comment first and then read some of the comments and realize that I just said the same thing someone else said.........great minds run in the same channels I guess. I just spend more time than I should on watching Rob vids and listening to him talk - as we all do I guess - but he has changed for sure over the years - even though he prides himself on saying he hasn't changed. HOW in the world could he NOT change after all he's been through? I try to put myself in his shoes sometimes and Imagine what it would be like to have so many women looking at you like they want to attack you, eat you, caress you, fondle you, kiss you and god knows what else. ANd how most men would find that to be so fantastic and get really cocky and big headed..........but Rob wants one woman - lucky bitch that she is.
One of the reasons I love him so much is because of the way he loves her - despite her faults, he gives 100%, and puts her first, or so it appears. Seems like I saw his dad one time with his mom and he was like that with her - put her on a pedestal. Wouldn't you love someone to treat you like that? Especially if they were so drop dead freakin' gorgeous? Sad Twilight is over but look forward to seeing Rob in a whole new way other than Edward.
