Hope no one minds but just wanted to give a shout out to anyone on the US East Coast who is currently making preparations for Hurricane Sandy. Please stay safe everyone--listen to alerts & news reports, follow their instructions and you'll be fine :) In Australia I live in a cyclone (hurricane) 'hot zone' so I well understand the harrowing experience of not knowing what's to come and being able to do nothing but prepare and wait. Thanks...sitting here in CT waiting for high winds to hit later on tomorrow., and power losses. They expect maybe a week's worth of power outages... no fun. 'Hope they are wrong. There's no hope for any of us during the Twi promos. Rob has bought out the big guns for it....perfect hair, just enough scruff, practicing the smoldering looks, warming up the Gucci suit, working the red carpet. We will have this day after day after day. So hard to concentrate on anything remotely connected to real life. Just lost in Rob's world for the first part of November. Oh well, just have to grin and bear it.

On a lighter note......we didn't know our 'big' storm was coming, did we Snuggler? The weather forecaster said there were rumours but it wasn't true and there was nothing to worry about!!! He's never been able to live it down :-) The country woke up to devastation!
Yeah same goes for me. I live in North Queensland and had Cyclone Yasi (Catergory 5) last year. It is very very scary and not to be taken lightly. Every year at this time we start preparations for the cyclone season, hoping that one will not make land fall. There have been very few deaths from cyclones over the past decade or so due to the dilligence and common sense shown by people. Material possessions can be replaced, loved ones cannot. I hope this mega storm passes without loss of life and life returns to normal quickly. Best of luck to all East Coasters, STAY SAFE!!!

Poor Michael Fish - they showed the clip of him saying 'don't worry' at the Olympic opening ceremony. We lost all the branches on the huge tree in my garden, I struggled in to work but was then sent home because fallen trees had blocked a stream next to the factory and the place was flooded. Luckily our houses tend to be built of brick so not to much structural damage, and no power cuts. Good luck East Coast girls.
Well said :D All you can do is prepare really well & keep as safe as you can. Sounds like we live in the same area! Waiting for Cyclone Yasi was awful but we were really lucky it landed a few hours north of us but we still copped a fair bit of fierce wind & rain. Were you right in the 'strike zone' (so to speak) for Yasi? Let's hope this coming cyclone season is a quiet one :)

I saw that in the Olympic ceremony :-) Its so funny in hindsight!! I lived at the side of a golf course at the time and the road was blocked both ends until the men went out and moved the trees! My husband had been travelling home from work at about 1.30 in the morning down the M23 in his van and his comment the next morning was...I thought it was a bit windy!!! LOL

Yes, poor Mr Fish, not fair really. I was up most of that night, part scared part excited, my then boyfriend was woken up by it but then just went back to sleep !!, ....but I had my cat to keep me company - safely in my arms. Thought I'd got the day off work as there was no public transport, but no, they sent a bloody company car to get me...I was so pissed off!!!

hi cathy, that sandy started by where i now live in trinidad, it was a tropical wave, not even a depression and it was bad, we had wind and very bad flooding, lots of landslide and power losses, and i told my mum who live in NYC man we had this really bad weather, and the country that this weather go to, it will sure get worse, i know all this because i study weather in college, i even studied volcanos, these thing i love,things that our world have no control over, i see it got a name and it has now become a monster!time where this happen in our lives like never, or cathy i'll pray for you, and all families in USA that this monster has to pass. first it's a wave,tropical depression, storm, then hurricane,1-5!This our world and yet some ppl doubt God exists!and we give these things name mostly females, be strong and stay safe, also and there is a full moon, not good tide will be high so bad flooding....

Thanks for your kind thoughts! The winds have picked up considerably here where I am in New Jersey. We're as prepared as we can be for now. Now we're just waiting for Sandy to make her appearance. I already called out of work for today but the DH is heading in for a bit. Looks like I'll be snuggled up on the couch with my collection of all things Rob while riding out the storm. Perhaps that's the best thing about this hurricane :)

Hey There, I live in the northern beaches of Townsville so we got lots of wind, but not as much rain as I thought we would. Had some roof damage, more annoying dealing with insurance company than putting up with the actual hole in the ceiling. It was a really scary and eerie time as you would remember, not knowing where it was going to hit, but it was such a widespread storm that very few escaped the wrath of Yasi. I loved the bumper stickers going around after 'You can kiss my Yasi'. Ahh, us Aussies have a way of seeing the humour in most things and like our American Allies know how to come together to help each other out.
Hannah -- please don't feel guilty -- some people are so uptight, how do they EVER have any fun? Never apologize to someone who clearly doesn't get our "Mutual Admiration Society" of Rob...I am 100% sure he would be amused and say something equally naughty back...we have your back, fantasize away!!!!!

My husband and I eloped to Hamilton Island (yep, got married in the chappel on the hill) and honeymooned on Hayman. I love the Whitsundays, it's one of those places the angels kissed with beauty on the seventh day when everyone else was resting, it makes me believe in creation over evolution, just like Rob does. Such beauty can only be masterminded by those with beautiful souls.
Daaaamm Kaz, that maybe the best one yet that I've seen. They belong in book, along with the pics. I would sooo buy it!
