PHEW! My oh MY! These pictures are amazing! You know what else is amazing? Robert Pattinson in Cosmopolis!
I had the immense pleasure of attending the Cosmopolis premiere in Toronto and while eOne handled the red carpet in a tacky manner, it was still an incredible night. Lucky fans got to see this gorgeous man hop out of his blacked out SUV (I did see that) and do his Robert thing among the fans that were accessible. He went inside to do another photocall before a cocktail party for select guests. Then he and the cast came on stage to introduce Cosmopolis to the audience and say they'll be back for a Q&A. The film started and I was RIVETED. I have to settle myself a bit more before I can review this film but oh. Oh. I have too many wonderful words in my brain so I regress to no words. I'll gather those words though and return to share them. So will Kate who saw the film at an press event last week in Ireland.

After the mind-sex, aka Cosmopolis, Rob and the Cosmopolis crew came back on stage and sat with the audience for 30-40 minutes (I'm not entirely sure...it still feels like a lifetime). I captured video of our favorite guy all the way until I impulsively shot up and went to ask a question! GAH! I need to wrap my head around that too before I can share it because I'd like to show you guys the video footage I took as well. Also, my question was spoiler-y so I need to phrase it right. Rob had some great gems during the Q&A one of which was when he called himself a whore. Oh Rob. We will love you forever and a day. He was clearly on the tail end of what David said was three weeks of talking about nothing but Cosmopolis. Rob then apologized for us getting the "short end of the straw". Cutie. The Q&A was really awesome and completely unexpected. It wasn't advertised at all and to have the chance to hear the filmmakers talk about Cosmopolis after seeing it...man. :')
After the Q&A, I got to talk to 2 people that were oh so fun. The producer of the film shared some very cool information about the US release date. Let's see. He told me the date but then I said are you sure you want to tell me that knowing what I do? He laughed and then said ok you can say it'll be released late summer in the US. He also said I could report the date but shrugged with a smile, "it could not be true". Hm. I'll say this: August. First half of.
The second person I met was Patricia McKenzie. She played Kendra. You know. The bodyguard. I might have fangirled slightly because after seeing that scene I frankly wanted to bow down to her. She was so sweet and actually complimented the Cosmopolis blog I do because she didn't know the film was showing until we tweeted it. That's absurd! Patricia needs to be brought out on a velvet bed hoisted on the shoulders of greek gods! Ladies. DR. When you see this scene. You will know why my encounter with Patricia after the film was SO enjoyable. She had only the loveliest things to say about Rob too. She offered that up. Said he was completely nice and sweet and their scene was so absurd but that's Cosmopolis. Beautiful absurdity.
That's a quickie recap of the evening. Thank Rob for that last several weeks. Cosmopolis promo has been beyond stellar. I have videos to share, a review of the film and as always, Rob awesomeness to squee about.
