UPDATE: HD videos and a full translation after the cut. The earlier translation was only partial.
We already posted a rumor about Rob heading to Portugal for the Cosmopolis premiere HERE and now the film's producer, Paulo Branco, shared some more info about Rob and the premiere! The video is in Portuguese but the translation is under the cut. This is the part that got me:
"For Pattinson, this project is essential. He watched the movie and personally told me that it was, maybe, the project that he was most proud of and wanted to support it wherever it was necessary"
Translation under the cut!

[Teaser presentation]
J: In a moment, a brief conversation with Paulo Branco, who manages with this appointment, the 11th film that produces the main film festival in Europe.
Video 2:
J: Return of the photograph [was the subject of the article above] to the movies, because the appointment of Cosmopolis, the new David Cronenberg film, produced by Paulo Branco Portuguese, which is live in the Journal of 8. Paul, very good night. This is the 11th film that produces and entering the main competition at Cannes, the most important festival in Europe. For what we have seen, the trailer and what is known, this is not a European film, if I may phrase. It is his most important film ever?
Paulo Branco (PB): All movies, I think, that are important to a producer, but this is a bit special. It is logical. It’s a film that, for the first time I worked in a food system across the Atlantic – it was filmed in Toronto. It was filmed by one of the greatest directors out there, David Cronenberg, who had – if you want – at least the sympathy I have heard and have accepted my proposal and with great actors, I mean some actors in Hollywood. Therefore, it is really the first time I have a movie of this size and with a budget of this amount.
J: We are talking about an over-production?
PB: We are talking about producing an average American, about 15 million. The film is French-Canadian, had so much support from France, and Canada. After all, is a budget which independent producers are not used and above all the freedom I had to produce this film: the choice of director, the choice of actors (according to Cronenberg), and it was an experience only. Being now at Cannes is really an honor, a recognition. It is not “another movie”. Each film that is at Cannes in competition, is not “another”. It’s always something special, such as those who have been there and who follows the Cannes festival all can understand.
J: The list of participants is impressionable in this movie: the director is famous, David Cronenberg, the main actors, I would say are even more famous (Juliette Binoche and Robert Pattinson, star of Twilight). I wonder if it is intended to involve these artists in Portugal, the film’s release, scheduled for May, if I remember correctly.
PB: Exactly. It created such a rapport with Don de Lillo, David Cronenberg, Robert Pattinson, who spoke on the assumption that since they made a small tour across Europe to promote the film, starting with Portugal, accepted immediately. Therefore, they will be here soon after the Cannes Film Festival, for the Portuguese premiere of the movie. I think that is unique, a premiere for a movie in Portugal. And this is also an example of professionalism and at the same time, a supply of this film who has collaborated on this project. The Pattinson, for him, is a key project. He saw the movie and told me personally that it was perhaps his work he was most proud of and wanted to defend it where necessary. The Don de Lillo, one of the greatest writers – you know – the world when he saw the movie, also liked a lot.
J: And, in principle, we have them here sometime in May for the film’s release. Paulo Branco for a very brief response, in addition to the 11 films for the main competition, the Paulo Branco sees an impressive total (I was reading) of 52 films that participated in the various section of the Cannes Film Festival. I asked him, in a tone half-joking, but seriously, if this accounts for the national exports.
PB: Of course that counts. When we are in Cannes, is to be the principle one step to the worldwide release of the movies that are there and we are able to contribute recipes, most of them come and go here in our country. We must also not forget – people forget a little that – we have ambitious projects in Portugal, a large portion of funding is also achieved internationally and are values that are then spent in Portugal. I think some of us connected to the movies also have the concern to enhance and create added value for our country.
J: Paulo Branco, thanks for coming to the Journal of 8 and congratulations on the appointment of Cannes.
Earlier, partial translation:
I: Paulo, good evening. This is the 11th movie that you produce and has been selected to the competition in Cannes - the most important film festival in Europe. From what we saw in the trailer and from the little we know, this is not an European movie. Is this your most important movie?
PB: Well, as a producer I like to think all movies are important, but this one is special, of course. It's a movie where, for the first time, I worked the way they do on the other side of the Atlantic. It was filmed in Toronto with one of the best directors in the world, David Cronenberg, that was kind enough to listen and accept my proposal, and with great Hollywood actors. And it's the first time I work on a movie this big and with this budget.
I:We're talking about a major production?
PB: We're talking about a medium American production, about 15M Euros. A French-Canadian movie. We had as much support from France as from Canada. Although, it is a budget that indie producers are not used to, especially with the freedom I had to produce this movie: choosing the director, David Cronenberg, and the actors (along with Cronenberg). It was an unique experience. I am proud (for the movie) to be in Cannes now; to be acknowledged. Every movie in Cannes, in competition, they're not just “another movie”. It's always something special, someone who has been and follows the festival, can understand.
I:The cast and crew of this movie is impressive. Famous director, David Cronenberg. The main actors are, I should say, even more famous (Juliette Binoche and Robert Pattinson, from the Twilight Saga). I want to know if there's anything planned for the release of the movie in Portugal in May with them?
PB:Precisely. It was created some sort of empathy with Don de Lillo, David Cronenberg and Robert Pattinson, that since the beginning, when I talked about the idea of doing a small promo tour in Europe to promote the movie, starting in Portugal, they immediately accepted. They'll be here right after Cannes for the Portuguese premiere of the movie. I think it's an unique event, for a movie premiere, in Portugal. And an example of professionalism and devotion from the people that worked in this film. For Pattinson, this project is essential. He watched the movie and personally told me that it was, maybe, the project that he was most proud of and wanted to support it wherever it was necessary. Don DeLillo, one of the biggest writers in the world, when saw the movie... (Interviewer interrupts Paulo Branco)
The last question is hard to understand, Paulo Branco talks about Cannes, promoting and selling movies at the festival.
