I cannot believe that idiot MR wrote this scene this way. Talk about an excercise in IGNORING character behavior. Bella would NEVER EVER EVER turn away from Edward and go with Puppy McJackass. How the hell was she NOT fired after Twilight.
I love love loved the awards last night and I still can't wait to see this movie. But, I have a feeling it will rather resemble the meadow scene in Twilight...painfully endured while I chant in my head, "I know what really happens...I know what really happens..." Grrr!!
@ Jazzgirl, yes, something about this scene rubbed me the wrong way too. I have a hard time believing that Bella would ever do that to Edward to his face. It was very disrespectful. I understand that MR had to take some liberties but this seems a bit extreme and out of character for Bella.
I'm hoping that when I see the film, there will be more context and some justification for this.
She didn't "choose" Jacob over Edward. I think MRosenberg was trying to give Bella more of a backbone than she had in the book. She was angry at Edward for LYING to her and manipulating her, even if it was to protect her. It makes perfect sense in that context. By getting on that bike with Jacob, she's telling Edward that just because he is her boyfriend, that doesn't mean he gets to control who she is, what she does, and who she hangs out with. She does say to him "Edward, you have to trust me."
Even though that *specific* scene doesn't happen in the book, Bella defies Edwards wishes and hurts him with Jake several times over the course of Eclipse. INCLUDING kissing him. With Edward nearby, hearing everything! Has everyone forgotten that?
Um...princesspeach....I have to disagree with you. This latest clip along with the one where Bella punched Jacob. Bella was beyond mad at Jacob in the book. In the clip...she kind of defends Jacob...pleeeze. MR has no clue what the characters are about. I know books need to be cut shorter than movies...obviously not all things will be in the movie. However, the character feelings/attitudes/expressions should stay the same! This is how Stephenie wrote them!

I am just so excited about seeing this film.... I adored Eclipse and it's just so wonderful to see this great book come to life on the big screen.
Edward seems to have much more facial expressions in this one, and boy does he look stunning. Clothes are gorgous, and as for his eyes ........
thamli18 - Thx for clarifying Bella's line when she gets on the back of Jacob's bike. I couldn't understand what she was saying.
Dose anybody have the clip for them presenting the clip.
Have not seen the show.
I sometimes can't understand what Bella says - she mumbles!
Well done to all the cast!
Rob and Kris were gorgeous... Nice to see that his pants matched her top!
Cool scene, BUT... where does this happen in the book???? Page...
wowww this movie will be good

Jazzgirl-totally agree! MR has no idea about how intense/in love B&E are with each other. She needs to find a new job!!

Haahahahhahahhahhaa!
MRosenburg...bet she was thinking if Bella could take off from Alice and escape with Jacob...that it'd be ok doing that to Edward...
...stupid egg that M.R is ...hellooo...Edward is the absolute love of her life...
