Robert Pattinson's "Unbound Captives" To Start Filming Soon ?
Well if this is true Rob is gonna be a busy chappie. He's moving from one film to another really quickly but I guess at the end of the day he's lucky to be able to do it.
So I'm hoping this is true because I'm anxious to see this movie. Well truth be told I'm anxious to see ANY movie with Rob in it ;-)
Nicola Peltz must have a thing for vampires—and Robert Pattinson must be way into movies about olden times.
Up-and-comer Peltz stars in M. Night Shyamalan's new movie, The Last Airbender, with Twilight cutie Jackson Rathbone. But she's also landed a lead role in the hushed-about western Unbound Captives, alongside Robert Pattinson.
So what can we learn from Nicola about the two Twi-guys? And what the heck is up with Captives, Rob's movie that was announced more than a year ago?
"I loved working with Jackson, he's like my brother," said Peltz, praising her costar. "He's so sweet and talented!"
No argument there, so let's move onto Unbound Captives, shall we?
Nicola told us Jackson hasn't given her any tips about teaming up with Pattinson, but she's heard R.Pattz is a fab guy to work with:
"I haven't talked to Rob, but I met Hugh [Jackman], who is also going to be in it. He's so talented and so much fun! We're both really looking forward to working with Rob, too. I can't wait to work with both of them!"
Talk about a hot cast. But what's it about, exactly?
"It's based on the Comanche tribes a while back," said Nicola, pausing for a bit. "It's hard to explain, but it's such a great script.
"Rob plays my brother, and when we're four, we get kidnapped. Our mom looks for us forever until we're about fifteen. We don't even know her when she comes by. And one—well, I can't give you the whole thing—but one of us stays in our tribe and one of us goes back with her." (Kate: Ooh sounds good)
We're assuming from IMDB Rachel Weisz will be playing the mother, and we're also hearing it's gonna be a bit of a tear jerker (Peltz nodded in agreement). (Kate: Awwww God, Rob why do you love to make my cry??)
Pattinson talked about Captives last fall during promotion for New Moon, saying that he thought production would begin in early 2010, which our R.P. know-it-alls clearly can see hasn't happened.
Rob's currently filming Water for Elephants with Reese Witherspoon, and will possibly get rolling on Breaking Dawn as early as November, so fans have been worried this Comanche flick has been put on the back burner. However, Peltz assures us the movie is happening.
"I know, they keep changing [when filming will start], but it is going to start soon!" (Kate:YAY)
N.P. said she hoped to meet Rob for the first time Sunday, since they were both at the MTV Movie Awards. But with Rob being so into Kristen Stewart and getting shuffled all around the theater, we're not sure if she got the chance. (Kate: Actually I think he may have been a bit busy accepting awards ;-))
So what say you Pattinson fans? Approve of Rob's next flick? If he looks as good as he does while filming Elephants, you'll read no complaints by us 'bout R.Pattz adding yet another heartfelt historical flick to his resume. (Kate: It's a big thumbs up from me. Give it to me Rob I can take it, I'm a big girl! :-})

I'll second that YAY, Kate! I think the story for this one sounds so good, I've been worried that it wasn't in the works anymore.
And can anyone say tan half-nekked Rob on a horse?!? FMN!!!
@RPLover
I didn't think this movie would ever get the green light either. It's been in pre-production for over a year and a half. I am glad they finally decided to go ahead and shoot it.
Wow.... We've waited so long until we even got ONE Rob-movie beside Twilight and now we'll actually get FOUR new releases in 2011?!
Great for us! But I'm always wondering how Rob can jump out of one character right into the next one... doesn't an actor need any prep time? I hope this filming at such a fast rate doesn't cause a lack of quality... Would be a shame for Rob since he is so talented and I really hope the critics can realize that soon!
I've just had a peek at the script for UC and Rob's bits are going to blow us all away - talk about intense! I'm sure the most of the buzz about the film will be about Rob, even tho he's not the lead role.
I reckon he will may have to get a six pack for this and he'll need to be pretty agile too. I won't go into details because of spoilers. He IS going to kill us!
Rewind that:
Rob's bits = Rob's scenes.
That's what I meant!
even more of a reason to now see the movie lol
Goody - Rob in a loin cloth!!
I need some enlightenment here. I heard about Rob signing on to this film a while back (here). It is my understanding (maybe wrong) that he might have signed on before Bel Ami and WFE. It got stuck in some pre-production stuff as Steph has verified. While it was "stuck" Rob has gone on and his value to the project has multiplied A LOT, so now looking back maybe not a choice he would choose at this point, but he signed on the dotted line. My question is how the hell is he going to fit this in any time SOON given BD?? I'm worried...the words "burn out" come to mind.
@lallieb
i was just discussing this with someone the other day how he needs to take a break, but he also needs to strike while the iron is hot as well.. although i think its been established that he is here to stay this far along in the plot.
He signed onto this film before Bel Ami, but I'm not to sure about RM. It was signed or negotiated around twilight. He could have possibly reconsidered this role but it also stars rachel weitz and high jackman so it wont be that bad. Plus, the only reason why he even went to The Lovely Bones premiere in December was to support his future co-star.
I personally don't think filming is on the horizon until BD is finished filming.
* i meant hugh not high, but there are so many grammatical errors i am sure you can all figure it out lol
I'd love to see him with long hair, totally shaved, tanned and of course, MORE than half naked on a horse.
Gah, that would be polar opposite of Edward.
Half naked Rob + half naked Hugh Jackman (hopefully) = total win :)
From what I understand his part in this film is not that big, thus if he finished filming WTF in early August, he'd have at least 2 months before BD starts filming and knowing how Rob is these days(he wants to keep working to ward off the media attention to his personal life) he'd probably jump on the op to film this in those 2-3 months depending if BD stars filming Oct or Nov.
So excited.
I, too, hope he knows to take a break when he needs it, but for now, though, I understand why he continues to work his ass off. He has the awesome privilege of getting these amazing roles right now and I guess it's uncertain whether he continues to get them (though I really don't see that changing anytime soon, with the very clever and varying roles he's taking on, proving he can do anything), plus to not let all of the craze around him making him indeed go crazy.
So as long as he's able to do it, I'm not complaining. I really love all of the projects he's chosen to do and I cannot wait for them to be released. RP is taking over the world in 2011. It's funny how his films seem to be getting better and better, too. Bel Ami = very excited. Water for Elephants = a bit more excited. Unbound Captives = really ***** excited. (Though my excitement for Breaking Dawn probably exceeds all of it, Edward + Bella + Renesmee = AAHH.) God, why is 2011 still so far away?
Unbound Captives could be a tough role for Rob even though it's not a huge part. As he has said, he will have to speak Comanche so he'll be mastering another accent. There's also some broken English and it isn't easy to act in broken English. His character has a very strong personality and is proud, moody, impulsive, impudent, wild etc ...! Oh yes! But there'll be a lot of interest in the role because it's RP - also because it's such a strong role he'll have to get the balance right so it's not underplayed or overplayed.
Rob's pretty shy and it might be hard for him to wear the breescloth. He was keen to cover up quickly after his NM shirtless scenes. I won't be surprised if he is more covered up than we expect or hope. He'll need to be able to handle horses effortlessly and do enough of his stunts to make it believable.
WOW!
I do think that Edward in Twilight was a very hard character to play because of a similar kind of intensity, so I'm sure Rob will rise to the challenge, but it does sound challenging and so different for him! There won't be a wonky leg in sight in this role!
