To respond to another comment here, I don't think that his father was referring to anything Kristen did as rude, otherwise Rob would have never read it. We've all seen photos of Kristen with his parents and there is a definite display of respect from her, as well as acceptance by them.

The young actress Emma Whatever Her Name, did not do her career any good by her rudeness to Rob on stage. What producer/director would ever think it might be a good idea to put them together now in a movie? She just blasted a big hole in her career.

Since I don't know Richard Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, I don't know the dynamic of their relationship.

But he appears to be a good and UNDERSTANDING father. And fathers like that tend to get it that when kids are still growing up, they're going to take a few missteps in their lives (as I believe his son also has in those moments when he too has given the finger to the papps). And rather than sit in judgement of their missteps, that they just continue to set good examples for them.

And then too, knowing that his son and this young lady have been subjected to horrible treatment by these photographers (walking through airports together and having obsenities shouted at them...'KRISTEN, ARE YOU EFFING HIM'?) and having them intrude on all of their lives to the point that their son cannot even stay in their home when he is in London...
he may have just cut Kristen a little slack for her momentary error in judgement while in Australia. But as I said, not knowing either of them or the relationship between them...I couldn't say for sure how he felt about it. And neither can anyone else.; June 16, 2010 at 2:20 AM

I don't know how anyone looking for conversation about Rob can avoid this.

I don't know what his method is, but I do know that some actors will absolutely refuse to be pulled out of their mind set for a character they're building in order to go off and schill another one. If this is a problem for Rob, he doesn't let it show.

He got yanked off the New Moon set to go peddle dvd's at Wal Mart AND off of the Bel Ami set to promote Remember Me and now, having WFE interrupted for Eclipse. Interesting that it's been for Summit products that his work has been interrupted.

I think the interview highlighted how much Rob is cared for (and protected) by his parents/family, his Dad strikes me as someone who shows others respect and has good manners (which has been taught well to his son), so I don't think the email about 'gestures' was directed to anyone.

But then I pretty much gave up watching the tube with the advent of the 'reality tv'. But thank god for this blog. Because of it, I'm not enslaved to the tv...even for Rob's appearances as I watch most of them here. And THAT is one of the great things about this technology.

I love his interaction with his parents, the e-mails from his dad were priceless! It's great that he has their support, and his dad's influence is obvious in Rob's old-fashioned charm.

Every interview and photograph I've seen lately just makes me love him more. He is just so ridiculously attractive. Heaven help us all 10 years from now as he continues to grow in maturity and all-round gorgeousness...

Yeah it is very rude. She's apparently deleted her twitter account where a lot of people were saying things to her, over the comment and her attitude. She deleted it. :D Guilty she is.

It's what happens when you act like a bitch in public to people. This will sound bad, but anyone who acts like a bitch in public, to people, should have this shown to them. It'll teach them in thinking they can get away with it. I know a 14 year old, of course a bit young to have grown up. But she goes around with the worst attitude. And her Mom lets her kid do that. Just my opinion so don't go biting my head off, but those who complain about Kristen being mentioned are those who dislike her and unaccepting of the fact that she's with Rob. No one complains about P.Fach or TomStu or even Dean being mentioned so why the exception to Kristen? She's in his life, whether you believe they're together or not, at the very least, they're very close friends. There is no website that focus 100% strictly on Rob, I just don't think its possible. The discussion revolves around every facet of his life.
I understand the comment about free speech. Everybody's entitled to their own opinions about someone but to be hurtful and petty towards a 20 yr. old when we know nothing about how she really is is a little childish. I believe in constructive criticism, etc.
Like someone mentioned above, what if Rob was to come in or any other place else and read some horrible things people have to say about not just Kristen but anyone else in his life for that matter, no doubt he would be hurt especially comments coming from his supposed fans. Most of us agree, all we want is to just see him happy and if recent pictures show anything, he looks completely smitten with Kristen. I think most of us already know that Rob & Kristen DO read things online so why subject them to all that negativity especially on a fansite dedicated to him. Chances are, if he reads something hateful and hurtful, he'll never come back.
Everybody's entitled to their own opinions so its not the fact the ER is Team Jacob or Team Edward, its just her attitude as a whole last night. I had absolutley no opinion of her prior to last night but the way she carried herself was - blah. She was standoffish with Rob, joking or not joking with that comment about having to sit with Rob for the next few minutes, she just came off as a total spoiled brat. I thought she bitchfaced him from the get go when she came out and he greeted her and for no good reason. I just felt bad for Rob,clearly he was uncomfortable after that exchange but he stayed. Even at the end of the show when they were greeting the band, she was stilling completely ignoring him. I don't believe Rob did anything to warrant that kind of treatment. Someone should teach her some manners.
As for the other comment regarding Rob just coming out with the truth, he owes us nothing. The truth is there, some just don't want to see it or admit it. 1- The interview was sweet, although not very telling I know we heard most of these questions and answers before, Rob must be sick of answering them poor guy!

2- His parents are amazing and it's such a sweet dynamic to have that closeness and parade it around when kids today want nothing to do with their parents!

3-ER's comments, well it wasn't very nice of her to pull all the stereotype guns and go after the hair the sparkling, and how Rob is so ordinary she didn't actually hear angels sing when she shook his hand! Yeah ok Emma you're too cool for skool huh?! Well she basically just showed her immaturity by going that rout however, and some explain her going off twitter as drama-queenish and playing the victim,I still think it was totally "insane" of some fans to be so vicious and vulgar...They just didn't represent Rob in a good light doing that, and pretty soon the same people/journalists who used to say how kind and genuine and nice he is will be annoyed by him and his fans and will paint him in a false light as being diva-ish and shallow!

As protective as most of the fans feel about him/his well being/ his pride and reputation, everyone must be mindful of how these actions reflect on him...maybe not in the eyes of the industry or the people that matter, but even the gossip rags and the media have a huge influence or should I say annoyance level in celebs' lives and that can eventually take it's toll...Brittany S anyone?

I think it's ok to feel angry and hurt over things that hurt Rob or bother him that's just the mother hen syndrome that most of his fans suffer from, but I think all actions must be well thought out before taking them and them propelling into something completely out of control and totally heartless! I'm also sure that Rob has the ability and the position and status to take care of anything that might in fact be disrespectful of him and regardless if that ER remark was made in jest or in bad taste, he handled it perfectly and came out smelling like roses, so what's the problem then?!

Love the pretty, drool over the pretty, but allow the pretty to be the man that his dad raised him to be, both gentle and firm at the same time...and no TWSS jokes please :)

P.S did anyone catch the slip where JL asks him to give up some secrets and he goes "secrets of the lo?" before he corrects himself and talk about the movie? what do you think that "lo" word was going to be? hmmm lol

And I love how cityofglass's only defence of Kristen's mostly rude behavior is that she's only 20, and yet Emma Roberts had to close her twitter and she's I think younger than 20. As for me I dislike both. I think that this girl Emma is just a brat. I also think that Kristen has been rude to Robert a lot in interviews but some people are intent on sweeping it under the rug.

All I see is some sort of friendship going on between Robert, Kristen and Taylor as they try to promote Eclipse. Actually Taylor in his interview talks about how Kristen texted him, can you imagine if Robert had said something like this in his interview? We would have never heard the end of it from the shippers. But when it's Taylor, Kristen can smile at him, kiss his neck, be a 100 times friendlier and more flattering of him than Robert, text him apparently, and still they're just friends and co-workers. Yet the same doesn't apply to her and Robert, she can even flip Robert in public, and half the time treat him with a sort of hostility, and they still say "oh they're SO in love".

However I am not criticising her recent interviews because she has improved a little in those Eclipse interviews. But I agree that she is a very mediocre actress.

But how anyone can believe that there's anything going on between Robert and Kristen after their interviews this weekend is beyond me. Robert's "Today" show interview where he said it point blank (and no it wasn't in reply to some papparazi question). And when one of the reporters shouted "it's good for the business", I was embarrassed for Robert in that, because I know he must be under instructions to not answer the question clearly. But even some reporters are starting to see it.

Then Kristen's interview where she was being sarcastic, but that doesn't change what she said (oh really I didn't know I had a boyfriend), and she said herself that she likes to "f" with the reporters. So if we take her at her word, then she has been pretending like she has something to hide by being coy about the R/K question, when apparently in reality there is NOTHING.

Then this interview where Robert shows the interviewer these two messages from his father, and both of them point to the fact that either he is single or dating someone who isn't Kristen.

Anyways I can't believe I wrote a long post about this, but honestly enough is enough. You want to believe that he is in "super secret love" with Kristen be my guest, just stop stating it like it's a FACT (because it's NOT), and just allow people their different opinions in peace.; June 16, 2010 at 12:02 PM

They can leave it after their interview if they want. He stayed.

IT WAS A JOKE! THEY WERE JOKING WITH EACH OTHER!

There was no anger or hostility.

My god. The way people misinterpret shit. It's insane.

And if/when word gets back to him that this girl was bullied to the point that she had to drop that account, what do you think he'll think about this fandom now. It will only REINFORCE what he already thinks about it. And I would imagine he and Kristen will look at each other and say...'they really are fucking insane. we'd better up the security'.

I'm going to make a prediction here. One day, when all of this Twilight madness is far behind him, maybe five or so after the saga is over, when he's no longer under contract and doesn't have to worry about insulting this fanbase, he's gonna let it rip. He's gonna come clean about the visciousness and insanity of what he encountered while doing these films. You watch and see. To my ears and eyes (did you catch that daggered look she shot at Rob before answering?@?), it didn't have much to do with Twilight, but more to do with her own reaction to Rob.

And I think Rob must have felt that, because we all know how polite he usually is, and he shot back with an immediate barb. Jokingly, but still a barb. Very unusual for him.

Her quip about having to set next to him could have been funny, if the poor girl had any playful humor... but she didn't show any here. Or any charm or wit either. Chip on your shoulder Emma? Perhaps national TV wasn't the best place to show it...

Then again, she's another young, high-spirited girl with lots of room to grow. So I say let's cut her some slack, and hope she learned a lesson from getting Robschooled!

Although very nice middle class because of his proper accent (in England, as soon as you open your mouth, your upbringing is revealed). But here in America, because of their beautiful home in a tony suburb and the private school educations, we would consider that more upper/middle class.

Whatever class, I think we can all agree that the Pattinson family is a class act all the way. I cannot tell you how besotted I am with his father at the moment. You can see where Rob gets it all from.

She was standoffish, rude--the same thing as his gf-- but why is it not okay for Emma to behave the same? She did blow a hole in her career I have to agree, but I think this is taken way out of proportion. I just think she was trying to act like she was unaffected by his presence by acting aloof.

As for her being team jacob--maybe because she worked on a movie with Taylor Lautner or maybe she really is team Jacob.

Someone brought up Michael Angarano is another thread. I have no idea how close they are, but perhaps she knows something that makes her dislike Rob?

Either way, you are all criticizing this girl who doing the same thing someone else does in his life. I am defending Emma a little, but I have never seen another interview of her. And yes, we are judged by our language. But lets face it, were judged by EVERYTHING! The clothes we wear, what we injest into our bodies, who we sleep with (and when), how we choose to spend our money, etc.

I agree that I could see Hollywood trying to cast Rob in more 'patrician' roles because of his proper accent and mannered bearing. But too, they want nothing more than to 'get a gun into his hands' because that equals BOX OFFICE! And I think he's gonna try to resist both.

I know some have said he's the next Depp or DiCaprio, but I dunno.
Both Johnny and Leo started out indie but they've both gone pretty much mainstream now, doing star vehicles that are built around them. I tend to see Rob going more the James Franco route.

Franco has really eschewed the leading man route which was his for the taking after he made his debut in the James Dean bio. He was so good in that, that many consider it the forth James Dean film. But look at his career since. He takes supporting roles (Milk) and whacked out character roles (Pineapple Express) and he even did a stint on a soap opera just recently. That was amazing. A movie star doing a soap for a few months. He just graduated from UCLA (I think it was UCLA) with a degree in writing and now he's going to law school (Colmubia I think). He just marches to the beat of his little drum and it has pained Hollywood 'cause they thought they had the next Brad Pitt on their hands when he showed up.

I just gotta feeling Rob might go down the same path but with a difference. I think he will pepper his career with the leading man roles too. Water For Elephants is the proof of that as that is the quissisential young leading man kind of role.

I knew Chris and Jamie years ago and yes, they are indeed Lord and Lady Haden-Guest. But you'd never know it from spending five minutes in their company. He's pathologically shy (you're hardly award that he's even in the room) and she fills it up with her warm, outgoing and gregarious personality. And talk about a potty mouth? I would imagine that Rob doesn't use bad language around his mother either as I seriously doubt his father would permit it. I could just hear him saying...'you will not speak to your mother with such language or in such a manner'.

And there was one other thing. What was it? Hmmm...oh yeah. I also thing Rob's career could go the way of Tom Cruise (which is the ideal for a lot of actors). Tom
built his career on mainstream popcorn fare (Risky Business, Top Gun, Jerry MacGuire), but then he'd show up and blow the critics away with "Born On The Forth Of July" or a his great supporting performance in "Magnolia".

Hard though to really say at this point which road Rob is going to go down. But I do believe this...
If he can get that production company of his up and running, I can see him doing small, independents where he'll have a hand in shaping entire films (producing, writing, learning to direct and maybe even the music). Kristen too has said that she wants to write. Who knows? Maybe they'll build an independent film company together. And even if their personal relationship didn't survive this madness they've found themselves in, maybe the friendship would hold and they could continue to work together professionally. If nothing else, they are sold on each other's talent. Wouldn't it be great? A film company of actors, writers, directors, editors, cinematographers, musical composers working together to make small, independent slice 'o life stories away from the Hollywood money making machine? And yeah, still doing the Hollywood stuff to keep their careers viable.

I think the industry actually needs something like this. Something to balance out the technology that is threatening to take over movies entirely. Rob has said that his favorite films are those of the seventies. And man, that was a golden age of independent film making which was ushered in by that other maverick, Warren Beatty with "Bonnie and Clyde" in 1967. Me thinks the film industry needs another maverick. And why not Rob? With the moola he's gonna walk away with from Twilight, he'll never have to work for a paycheck again. He'll truly be independent.

Sorry. Rambling again. But...if he could pull something like this off.
As far as I'd be concerned, he'd have had a hand in saving cinema as an artform from the mindless entertainment it's become. And with his fanbase, some just might get educated to that.

Do I have big dreams for him? Oh yes I do. And that's because he's a rarity in this business which is why I've gone over the edge where he's concerned.

RPG and Dessert First and myself are gonna be running around together on Friday the 25th (the day after the premiere). Any chance we could meet? Didn't you say you live near where they're currently location shooting? Well. I'm gonna break my own fast and firm rule and if he's still up there, I'm gonna drive us up and let the girls take a peek. Since my stomach will be in knots, I'll just stay with the car and puke in the bushes. But I just couldn't deny this to RPG just because I'm paranoid about it. Could we arrange to meet you? I'd really love that. Let me know.

And another thought about Rob possibly forming a film company one day. Yeah, I can see it something like what Christoper Guest has done in that he writes, directs and produces everything with his sometimes partner, Eugene Levy AND he uses the same company of actors in every film. The difference? Chris sticks to comedies and he isn't a MOVIE STAR like Rob. So while he gets critical acclaim and has built up a cult following, his work doesn't get the attention it deserves because he isn't a big enough profile name. But if Rob attemtpted something like this (leaning more towards adult, gritty fare), a lot more would be aware. And I think the critics would give him chops if for nothing else, at least attempting something different other than the leading man route which is his for the taking.

If he does take a break after Twilight is dead and buried, maybe he could use some of that down time to form this thing. At least to lay down the ground work for it. Although...he did say he'd like his own production company by the time he's 26. Yeah. Just as Twilight is coming to an end. Good timing there. And I've wondered if he's made a deal with Summit. When actors form a production company they usually do it under the auspices of a major studio and Summit does have an independent arm (I think all the majors do now). Who knows? Maybe the deal was, he'd go out and sell this franchise for them and when he was ready, they'd help him set up shop.

Who knows? Sorry. Said I was shutting up. Well. Let's just say that I'm thinking about shutting up which is a good thing as that is the first step in actually doing it. LOL!; June 16, 2010 at 4:13 PM

And I so wish this for Rob someday, if it's what he wants. And I think he can get it. I truly do believe that a majority of this fandom is going to die out once the Twilight films are done. He'll still have a fanbase and a few of the crazies will hang on, but overall things are going to calm way down for him.

But I think the key is stepping away from the spotlight when these films conclude. Imagine if there was no information on him for a couple of years; no movies, no interviews, no talk shows, no entertainment news programs, no magazine covers, no photoshoots, no red carpets, no premieres, no award shows, no industry functions, no NOTHING! Except the occasional papp photo when they caught him somewhere. What do you think would happen?

How long could the gossip sites and the rags and the internet chatter go on if there was nothing NEW to talk about? I suppose they could speculate for awhile why he's disappeared. And if Kristen goes missing too then of course the talk would be that she's pregnant and they're trying to hide it (and if she ever is -by him- maybe they would). And yeah, I think the papps would still hunt for them (as long as people keep downloading the pics from the "source" sites) and yeah, twits would twiddle the moment they spotted them somewhere. But would that be enough to keep all of THIS going? I don't think so. People don't have very long attention spans anymore and something new will come along and divert their attention AND if their steady diet of Rob gets cut off, they're gonna have to find something else to eat. And his true fans? The ones who love HIM and want him to have a happy life?

We'll miss the hell out of him. But we'll be happy too that he's off re-charging his batteries and getting some part of his life back. And when he's ready to come back? We'll be here patiently waiting for him.

Yeah. I think the key is for him to walk away and let all of this go away. I just hope that the pressure from Hollywood to keep going, doesn't sway him. They'll try to make him fearful that if he walks away, the public will forget about him and he won't have much of a career to come back to. THAT'S their stratedgy when they don't want to lose a COMMODITY. That is if he's even thinking about doing something like this at all. And he may not be. But I (just me) would think that would not be the best move for him. Two years from now, with at least three more 'sure things' (the rest of this franchise) under his belt and who knows what with films like WFE and possibly UC, he'll be a much bigger star then than he is today. If he took a break, his career would be just fine.

A lot of actors set up production companies in order to develop projects for themselves.

But a film company is something more. A film company is a group of artists (actors, writers, directors, producers, composers, editors, etc.) who make films together.

Stanley Tucci, Oliver Platt and Campbell Scott have attempted this, but they're not high profile movie stars, so...not enough of the public was paying attention.
