Interesting about the 8 year old comment-- 8 year old are actually often torn between thier love of 2 parents, espeically in times of divorce, and also sadly in frendships; that age can be really cruel with some 'frends' sayng-- if you are her best friend, you can't be mine, etc. so on one level, even 8 year olds can comprehend this. On the other hand, I like the idea of people getting away from the 'teenybopper' categorization, misperception surrounding Rob's fandom and the book's and movies' fandomes.
There is NOT 'always' the situation where one person loves the other more.
@solas I disagree.. I think the same way as Kristen does I do strongly believe that when two people are in love.. no matter how much they love eachother one person is always gonna have more love for the other.. hearts never break evenly one person always loves harder and that person ends up getting hurt the most.
Cherry, we will just have to agree to disagree then. :-) I don't think you can measure how much one loves another especially when they both love each other, nor can you really measure pain if they break up. Do you say--well I felt pain on a measure of 95 compared to your 92? It isn't quantifiable, and it isn't a premise I would accept without some reasonable way to measure.
I will add, however, that many studies have been done on love relationships including those that break up, and in an overwhelming amount (BUT NOT ALL!!!) of heterosexual couples, the woman is more attached, and EXPRESSES more pain (and n many cases is the only one who expresses any pain!) if a sexual relationship was involved. Many theories as to why; some say it is cultural, that woman have a sense of 'belonging to' or attachment to a man if they have had a sexual relationship and then it is harder on the woman to break up.
Of course, I ( and I bet most of us) have seen men 'head over heels' with a woman who does not reciprocate.
