*New* Hungarian Interview With Robert Pattinson
He was asked what he remembers most about it, and he came up with the one night where they filmed in a pretty bad area, said that he didn’t even feel like he was in Europe anymore and implied that he believed all the fans on set didn’t even know who he was, they just realised he was famous and were just gunning for an autograph that they could sell later.
He talked about shooting in part of Budapest that was poor and like Harlem and people didn’t know who he was but realized his signature was prob worth something so brought out everything for him to sign. then he said that filming budapest he felt the most foreign experience he ever had. that they had a diff mindset there and it didn’t even really feel like Europe but that he ‘really liked it’.

He is starting to be very "with the flow" in the interviews, he is more calm and just answers calmly.
I wish I hear the who interview, with the voice over I could barely make out what the interviewer was asking and what he was answering.
He looks like he enjoyed himself with this interview, having his hands folded.
One question: do you think rob ate what the lady gave him?? The soup that she gave him?? Or just threw it away, he did seem excited for the soup.
Kimmie, I wondered the same thing. I could see he said "is that goulash"? He acted grateful, but doubt he ate it. Who interviewer brings a bowl of soup anyway? That was stupid of her. He did seem pretty relaxed though.
I doubt , he ate it. it's a strong fatty, full of fork meat and potatoes soup. We'd heard he ate here chicken for meals.
And the Hungarian girls didn't like this interview, some of them said "go to hell Rob, if you need screaming girls, beside the fans in silence. We knew who you are, but didn't screaming." Maybe some mistranslateing is on, we - in Hungary - are very curious the real sentences, not the overdubbed report. Hate the hungarian tv for overdubbing it. But, as we have no english subtitle for the New Moon dvd..... I don't know, what to think about the hungarian teaching methods, but every deputy is complaining of people doesn't speak foreign languages, and after it they don't do anything to make it better..
I doubt he ate it. You don't eat things given to you by strangers :)(at least I hope so)
He's too frank, that much honesty could hurt people.. I think he just felt awkward, more awkward than usual and didn't know what to make of it.
Gulyás is fine meal, but I think Rob does not eat that.
And yes Hungarian girls was awesome, they doesn't screeming, they were well-mannered.....:)
Who the hell pulls out a random big bowl of soup covered with saran wrap out of a purse. That was such a SNL moment. She seriously could have save herself some cooking time if she'd just brought him some Hungarian Hot Pockets. He would have been all over that.
Also, if that translation is correct, it doesn't sound lime he enjoyed it very much. Even if he added the cursory "but I liked it" at the end.
@twmmy: the producers said in an interview how appreciative they were of the Hungarian fans behaviour and consideration for the filming. Rob seemed to say hello to the fans, and he knew they were, but thinks the people who got his autograph in this case didn't know who he was - maybe filming in a rural area? Sorry to hear some were upset - I'm sure that wasn't his intention...
AP, I think it too, maybe the presentation of the interview is too wrong, and I think Anikó Návai dismissed the goal of the pressjunket. WTF she wanted with Bel Ami on the Eclipse pressjunket?
And yes, as he said, it was in a poor part of Budapest, but I think that was for the part for show from the hell came Duroy. And I can tell, I don't understand the upsetting, but I'm sad if Rob only remembered this part of his staying.
Oh, and I've forgot. WTF wanted Anikó with all the hungarians. If somebody asks any hungarian actor about any english/french/german famous man, I bet for the first minute nobody can say a name. Ok, for the second will have some names, just because everybody knows any name. But hungarians always gone from their country, so they are both american both hungarian. Maybe even more amercan.
@twmmy: Oh, you're right - I completely overlooked that. This was an Eclipse junket, not Bel Ami...lol But I understand why she wanted to talk about it... I'm sure Rob had a good time in Budapest - I remember when he was not working and able to walk around, and he seemed to be enjoying himself... :)
"I'm sad if Rob only remembered this part of his staying" He was very appreciative of your country before. I think this time, he was just talking about his experience in the poor areas of Budapest.
LMAO@b!itching about the big bowl of soup and everything else. There are many different cultures out there with many different customs. It was nice of her to make him something to eat. I don't know what else she gave him but that was nice as well. On the poor part of town remark; didn't he say at some point that he liked Harlem???....
Do I think he ate it? No, prolly gave it to Dean. LOL
I'm from Hungary. I saw the interview.
The soup and the dvd were gifts (you know it's a nice thing in some places), and the gulasch is a speciality in some parts of Hungary.
Anikó Návai asked him about Hungarian inventors (not actors), because Robert joked about that.
In my opinion there was a misunderstanding between Návai and Pattinson.
Despite your belief, Hungarians know about foreign cultures, including actors, directors, inventors, scientists etc. In the schools children study languages, world history and so on.
Probably Robert Pattinson worked in the center of Budapest (the capital of Hungary). Maybe buildings are old, but in this case they are monuments.
Perhaps Hungarian fans were angry because of his attitude toward our country. Hungary is in Europe, and not in Asia, or some other continent despite the circumstances. Our disappointment is understandable, nobody likes to hear unpolite, and false comments about their homeland. Maybe Robert Pattinson didn't enjoy himself here, but he was rude and in my opinion that's unacceptable. He could answer otherwise, or try to get acquainted with this country.
He could be a talented actor, but now he is only hot-headed.
Kedves Tündi!
Köszönöm a kommentedet.
Though my english is not very good.
Dear Szelena and Tündi- If you pay attention better, Tob didn't say anything to upset his hungarian fans and tha country. As your english is good, please hear the interview with attention, though I don't undrestand Ms Návai's question, but there are more than two mistranslating in the hungarian text.
UOH? Tob=Rob. mistype, or I saw Remember me to many times ?
Kedves Twmmy!
Dear Twmmy!
The Hungarian fans known, and our culture Tündi tried to give description.
They were not shrieking , maybe that this was the problem?!A backward one is heavy for a country what listening to an opinion like this in such a way that we should know it was in Hungary when Robert was there. The alley judgement was not right based on the intejú unfortunately, only worse. See it ...
Jesus I really, really don't like Aniko Navai interviews, reports...
Anyway, it IS a Hungarian tradition to give a present whenever you go visit someone, and often times it IS some kind of home-made meal, but was it appropriate in this case? NO!
He definitely did not eat. He and other public figures said it numerous times before that when they receive something whatever it is they can't keep, or even open it, because it is a security risk. You never know what this crazy lady put in it...i mean it might be overloaded with VItamin C!!!
On an other note, I think he was kind of rude, but I guess to each his own. And I honestly have no idea what he's talking about when he says 'poor' part of the city. The only thing that comes to mind is the 8th district, but I can't remember if he's even been there or not. He might just have meant the old buildings though, but those are what Budapest is known for. I mean they WERE shooting here, because it looks like old Paris for heaven's sake.
Sry for ranting!
OH MY. I can't decide if this interview made me happy or just simply left me totally freaked out. That bowl of gulyás soup was pretty weird, really, though it's true, that's traditional in Hungary - and I can imagine Rob liking it but JESUS why giving him a fucking bowl of soup, errr. I'd rather have given him some pálinka (fruit brandy) - as I heard he tried it while staying in Hungary AND actually liked it. So, dear interviewier, next time go with a nice bottle of some killer booze lol.
Darlings, when Rob was here I saw him every day and he really seemed to enjoy his time. Though I stayed at the filming locations only for 1-2 hours each day but true, girls didn't scream and go crazy - I think he enjoyed being treated a little differently. (At least he thanked us for being quiet in fucking Hungarian, I still can't believe yay.) Too bad he only mentions that Harlem part of the city in this interview. That part of Budapest sucks. Literally. Poor and sad. But hey, they were filming there only for a few hours; other locations were more than glamourous. ;)
I doubt if Hungarians have a different mindset. Do I? lol
Maybe because we didn't scream but hey what's the use in screaming and yelling and tearing down his clothes (khm...ok let me think again haha)?
Concl.: I really do believe he enjoyed his stay in Hungary. This interview is kinda lame though. *smooch*
@gotthyka
@Henci
definitely, he's talking about the 8th district, he WAS there but I hope that's not the only district he remembers :D
