I can't believe how much Kristen's Bella and Taycob annoy me, lol. Why, WHY couldn't they have kept the good parts from the book, and changed/altered or downplayed the annoying parts? It's like they did the exact opposite, keeping all the annoying parts intact and downplaying or changing all the good parts.
And am I the only one really annoyed that Edward has so much emotion written on his face, while Bella looks bored next to him? And she looks the same way at Jacob as she does at Edward. I was hoping she would improve as the movies continued, but I don't know, so far it doesn't look like it. She's so emotionally flat and inexpressive...
Anyways Robward is great and in a league of his own. But it seems to me that they are weakening Edward's personality and playing up the silly "love triangle", ugh. I LOVE Robward, he's the ONLY reason why I continue to watch those clips.
I agree w/Michelle...this scene could have been so much better! This was rather boring. I just re-read the book & the scene as it played in MY HEAD was more exciting! He exhaled on her hair, then chuckled, knowing Jacob would smell it. Remember?! :)

Angel, I always pictured Bella being like this, because she was always good at repressing and hiding her feelings, blocking things even before she was a 'shield.' Although Edward was at a disatvanteage already because he couldn't read her mind, he still found her to be very unreadable; only to her mother she was an 'open book'. I think she was more expressive with Edward at certain times when they were alone wth each other, but even then, after her heart was broken at the beginning of New Moon, she hid her feelings more than when she was alone with him before he abandoned her.
Angel: I think she's giving Edward the same face a mom gives an exasperating child! As if to say: "stop making a big deal out of this, I'm not going to get sucked into your drama! Don't be so emo, just get on with it!"
But I have to agree that both Bella and Jacob are annoying has hell in Eclipse, and this script doesn't to have made them any better.

@solas really? I thought tha she was an open book to everyone but Edward (blinded with love :)) with all the blushing, swooning,etc. She was a very bad actress = open book, even Jacob said that he knew all her sympathies and antipathies because she was so easy to read.

I've said it before and probably will again, without the love triangle there would be little story! Either a bunch of you did not read the books, or only read the parts with Edward, I guess one of my biggest problems with all the negative about Jacob, Bella and the triangle is: WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO DISLIKE JACOB? He's a cutie, great abs, a pleasure to look at, a perfect foil for the intellectual reserved Edward. I could love them both were I quite a few years younger! (smile) That's a great fantasy!!

By the way... here in Sweden, the age limit to see the Eclipse is 11 years, I really hope that they don't make it more child friendly by censoring the heavy scenes. I do not understand why the series is considered to be a youth film (or whatever you call it in English?). There is NO chance that children and teens understand the meaning of such deep feelings!
olejp--I didn't like Jacob as a character, and even if Edward were not in the picture, I wouldn't like him, And i read the books a few times each, and STILL don't like the Jacob character.
ord-- kids have to read and often watch Romeo and Juliet in 9th grade (at least we did--and what a shock the movie was for us all, very very sheltered innocent religious girls, and to the English teacher, when Len whiting's bare behind flashed for a nanosecond!)
and I think many teens do feel and understand love and angst and pain and loss.

Solas: I think that many teenagers understand all that too, it's not so long ago I was a teenager myself, but I think most young people have a rather naive view of love if you never lost someone you loved and really cared about. Just like Bella who was dumped (although Edward did it because he thought it was for good reason) and Edward who thought Bella died.
All I know is that I didn't see what I had until I lost it. And they know what it's like to lose something (and someone) they can not live without, so they value each other on a completely different level. I don't think that a eleven year old understands a situation like that - but I am not saying that children of this age shouldn't see the movie, I'd certainly love it if I were 11 or even younger!
I don't think this clip is all that great. All the clips that have came out have all this tension. now the one clip that comes out that has some e/b romance and its still filled with tension...and not sexual tension. i just want to say:

there was nooooo emotion coming from her. to me she doesnt even act. she acts the same as she does in real life..kinda offstandish...looks bored...annoyed. she is definitely noot looking at rob with love and when she sees jacob she looks like a kid that has to be dropped off with someone she doesn want to go with. Crack a smile plz!
she's just standing there while edward kisses her and doesnt even look phased or "dazzled" when he's done like she always did in the book. then she walks boringly to jacob and he gives her this big hug and she only puts one unenthusiastic arm around him. in the book bella was so excited to go to jacob she smiled and everything....also b4 she went she was jokin around and all lovey dovey with edward.
her acting is amateur...even ppl tht saw that clip at mtv awards said so.

@emma I think you've read to much fanfic. She does all that blushing and mill and boon rubbish in them not so much in the real novels.
I think she behaves perfectly in this scene, very sweet and remember, they aren't exactly alone. She's very aware of Jacob standing there. She doesn't want to rub his face in it.
God there's just no pleasing some people.
uh no--actually bella WAS feeling like a child being dropped off in a custody exchange. And she was always aware of the possbility of Jacob's attention hurting Edward (she told Jacob not to push his luck). Again, to me, Kristen's portrayal was spot on, exactly as I would picture her, based on the personality described and shown in the books, or as I would experience it myself (some of us are cautious with showing our feelings and go for subtlety) .
Did we read the same books? ;-)
otally agree with you solas. From what I remember from this scene Bella wasn't feeling so comfortable. She knew Edward was putting on a show for Jacob (pissing on her leg so to speak) to mark his territory and Jacob likewise was trying to whined Edward up with the over eager hugging.

I'm waiting for the movie before I comment on it, I want to see the whole tamale and not judge individual scenes (mixed metaphors here, sorry).

ord...It is not only young people who don't know what they've lost until they've lost it. Many adults are the same.
And young people can feel deeply and truly about love as well. And when your true love dumps you, that is heartbreak for anyone.
Jacob is a childish boy who doesn't respect Bella. Why? Because, as in this scene, he is always trying to make Bella's boyfriend jealous, and if anyone respected their friend's choice he wouldn't do that.
Of course we all know he's trying to break them up. If he were a girl he would be called all sorts of pejoratives, and we all know that too.
And the abs. HO HUM!
Give me Edward's long, lanky body with his shoulders/pecs, long legs, and incredible face.
The whole point of Eclipse, folks, is that Edward ECLIPSES Jacob.
But Bella is annoying because she's got to be stupid not to see the sexual rivalry here. And is she does, why is she always hugging Jacob and encouraging his ill behaviour. He's a brat. I've said it before. He just doesn't deal and doesn't respect her true feelings for another male.
lallieb...You're right. We should probably wait to see the whole film before we comment on bits and pieces like this. Hard not to have an opinion but we should be aware that they are only clips.
Oh, and about Kristen's acting. These clips are not much to go on.
But, I thought she was superb in NM. Especially during the break-up scene, and the reunion scene in Italy. You can see her mind working out what Edward really means when he dumps her, and we can see the light dawn and her heart begin to break. And in the reunion, just before the kiss, she is excellent, portraying a woman so in love she's willing to give him up but not let him die and telling him.
Nope, Kristen owns Bella.
Can't wait to see it all pieced together....
@jessegirl, hey (waving at you) where have you been? Haven't seen you recently on any threads. But might have missed you despite reading everything I can LOL.
Kristen's acting seems to be controversial, some think she's great, others can't stand it, one note acting. I'm on the fence, but think she has a style which has worked for the characters she has chosen to play in several movies (no one goes to apparently) but critically acclaimed. She does own the role of Bella without a doubt and she takes it very seriously. She is Bella. And hopefully will get the role in "The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo" Hollywood version. She would be perfect for it.
About "The girl with the dragon tattoo" (which is actually a rather strange translation of our Swedish title "Män som hatar kvinnor" or "Men who hate women") Anyway ... This isn't a site about Kristen, but if someone (unfortunately) have to replace Naomi Rapace, there is no one else who could take on that role better than Kristen. Rapace is our equivalent to Stewart, she could just as easily been her big sister!
@Ord, my friend and I watched clips from the Swedish movie with Naomi, and we both agreed that Kristen would be perfect, based on Naomi's portrayal. This only came up because of a survey on who should play the role in US version and Kristen got the most votes of the 4 actresses they proposed. After watching the clips, we both want to see the Swedish film. She read the book and I am now.
lallieb: Yeah, I too saw the proposals and thought that Kristen was the only one, no one but her would do the series any justice. The other candidates are nearly a mockery, Noomi is so damn talented and Kristen is the only one who can match her talent! (They even have the same, odd body language and awkwardness :P)

I'm so with you! It was the first thing I was thinking when watching the clip: Why can she hug Jake and does not even bother to hug her soulmate? WTF is wrong with her (or the director, or whoever is in charge for this s**t)?
If I remember correctly (and it is hard not to because I read all the books about 10 times - sarcasm here!) all throughout EC Bella is eager EAGER to get more from Edward than just a short peck. So why is she behaving so passive here?
And of course I agree with you on the acting - I don't know if Kristen can't do better (I haven't watched any of her films besides TW movies) or if it is her approach to the role of Bella but I honestly only find 2 facial expressions of her troughout the TW movies (and all the new EC clips): wide eyed (maybe combined with a little bit batting her eyelashes), ether with her mouth open or closed. I understand that Bella is a very introverted character but - really!
But I don't want to blame Kristen alone - what is wrong with the team around her resp. the director? Edward is the love of her life, at least she can hug him back when he kisses her like that!
Oh, and I want to add - seeing this clip after watching Rob and Kristen at the MTW Awards (best kiss) gives me the feeling of a Deja Vu! Robert foaming over with all his love and Kristen always backing out - looks a little bit like this clip.
Will we actually see Bella in EC or will we see Kristen?
Oh - and I forgot: Rob is great here, in fact, I think he's great in all the clips we've seen so far. It's a good thing, we finally have a chance to see all of Edwards emotions crossing Robs beautiful face. He does very well with that and I actually love that he's capeable of portraying various emotions like disgust, hatred, amusement and deep love (parking lot scene) within a few seconds and you can clearly see all of them. Rob, you are such a great actor and I'm very proud to be a fan of yours :).
I also want to add (although I'm team Edward all the way) that I also like Taylors portrayal of Jake very much. In all the scenes (parking lot, almost fight, etc.) he's able to portray a lot of his feelings with his eyes and even with his body language. I assume, he has a lot of body awareness because of his martial arts / work out routine over so many years and he manages very well to use this ability for his acting. Hope that Taylor will become on of the great action stars in the future.

Bella is so stuck in the middle with her emotions in this clip, trying to keep the peace and diffuse any ammunition that would antaginize both Edward and Jacob to go for each other, and also at the same time like @Loisada said, being like a mom and thinking these two are just like a pair of kids exasperating each other, with Edwards comments and the 'kiss' and then Jacob and his comment to 'Beautiful' Bella and the big long bear hug.

I think the problem some people have with this scene is they put themselves in Bella’s position and they are the kind of girl/woman who would behave differently in this situation. It sounds like they are a little more girly and gooie eyed when they are in love. Not all women are like that when in love. Some of us are a little more subtle. There's nothing wrong with being an open book emotionally. Book I don't think that’s Bella. The very tender scenes in the book were usually while Edward and Bella were alone and private. Not while others where watching and especially not with Jacob watching.
Books always seem to be better than the movies because our minds act like our own personal movies.
I don't think movies have to follow every line of the book, but they do have to be realistic. I just hate the way Edward looks like a little "punk". He's a damn vampire...Give Jacob a strong look, warn him with your eyes.
This is the second scene in which Edward seems to be left behind like a puppy with his "tongue wagging" waiting for his owner to return. I hope this movie isn't like this throughout.
I agree the kiss was too long, Bella looks indifferent, and the line about the shirt was great because many moviegoers and critics have asked the same question

Plus she does look indifferent, even after saying 'maybe rush a little bit' which makes the words irrelevant. I don't know, maybe girls who like this scene put themselves in Bella’s position and they would behave like that to make the man crazy jealous. He has to pay for leaving her, right? :D
This kiss - OMFG! Everytime I see it, my heart jumps.
I can understand everyone's issues with the way this scene was done. First, Jacob is standing off to the side - Bella doesn't want to show too much emotion and throw that in his face. Love that Edward wants to make Jacob jealous by kissing Bella in front of him!! Second, she is upset that Edward has to leave but she really doesn't want him to go, but she knows he has to. Loved her line after the kiss, "Ok, maybe rush a little." Who wouldn't want him?!!?
@ordjbajseri: I don't think the title was intended to be any kind of direct translation - as you are right - it sure isn't - but to title the trilogy. Luved the film, but thought the book was better. Noomi was wonderful and I wish she had wanted to do the english remake but I guess she's lived enough with the character already after 3 films.
I can also see Kristen in the role but I don't think she will be able to do it as she will be filming "On the Road" at the same time Fincher will begin GWTDT. Also they are filming it for several months - in Sweden and elsewhere - and she is again committed to Breaking Dawn. I don't think they've announced who is cast, but they have a lot to live up to. Yeah, it's not about Rob, but I thought the original was a terrific film and hope people will see at least read the books. :)

I love the way Kristen starts off the kiss holding back a little. Like she is award Jacob is watching. But then as Edward pulls her close, she gets lost in the kiss and by the time it ends she still has her eyes close for a couple of seconds, like she is totally lost in the moment and everything around her has melted away, even Jacob. Perfect.

I have nothing against Kristen, but feel she was all wrong for Bella. Her protrayal of Bella and Bella from the books, feel like 2 different people to me. Out of the whole cast I feel her and Nikki were miscast.I have to say that kristen and the hotmess that was the first movie and the replacement of Rachelle has really has disapointed me. I wish we could have a do-over.
when you really think about it it does kind of mirror the book but books are always more in detail but I agree that everyone should go and see the full movie before judging just from previews. In my honest opinion the previews are making me more irritated than anything because Im desperately wanting to see the movie more and more everyday the more previews I watch.
