I wonder, if Rob does not get number one, if he or his agent or manaager wll worry that he is losing ground and popularity and possibly bankability, or if he, and possibly they, will be relieved that it is now time for Rob to be appreciated on a different level, real acting and professionalism.

@evangeline its usually something like go to tools/internet options/clear history or cache or cookies. Depends on what Internet browser you are using.
@ evangeline you have to go to the tools options and then delete the history to clear it...thats how i do it anyone have any other ideas??

NO! None of this internet, pop cultural bullshit (polls, top 10 lists, who's hot, who's not, even fan award shows, etc.) matters much to Hollywood as it's seen as here today, gone tomorrow
inconsequential crap. Something just of the moment but nothing of depth or of long term relevancy. Hollywood thinks that most of what goes on on the internet, is just mindless entertainment for the masses. And the reason for that is, most people haven't got the first clue about most of what it is they're talking about. Sorry. But that's the additude. The ONLY thing that matters to Hollywood, is box office. That's it!
They pay lip service to the public, but all they really want is...just want your money.
It's the truth.
I hope that didn't offend, but that's how a lot of people talk about all of this in this town.
Just have fun with it. If you want to vote for Rob for something...
vote for him. And when he wins, be happy. But don't think that it's important. Because it's not. This pop cultural popularity isn't what is getting him roles. His talent and his box office is.
And don't think that Nick or Stephanie are scouring the internet to see where his popularity is any given week. They only care about the studios and the producers and the directors wanting to put him in their movies and paying him big bucks for his services. And that's cause, the bigger his paycheck, the bigger their cut.
It's a business. More than a show, it's a business.
The ones who care about all of this?
The reality tv stars. Those chasing pop cultural fame; the Paris Hiltons, Kim Kardashians and Heidi Montags of the world. Not serious actors with serious careers.

The only reason these sites even come up with these polls and awards
is so that people will keep on hitting their sites voting over and over. Even these bogus fan award shows? TV ratings.
If Rob weren't forced to attend these things in promotion of this franchise, how many of us would even be watching the MTV Movie Awards?
I don't mean to wreck the fun and there's nothing wrong with any of this, but don't give it any relevancy. These things are not relevant. They're not important. And the day after they're over, they are forgotten.
You want to place a relevant, an important vote for him? Go buy a movie ticket for one of his films.

Where were all these 'fans' who vote for him in all of these polls and fan awards on the opening weekend of Remember Me? Where were they?
Yeah. The subject matter of the story I'm sure, put some off. And yeah, the knee jerk reaction from a lot of the critics might have had some influence. And yeah, it had the misfortune to open against Alice. But an 8 million opening weekend? And a worldwide struggle to get to 50 million?
Where were all of these millions of fans?
Just curious.
And...changing subject now.
I don't know how to break this to some of you, but Stephenie Meyer wrote a love triangle.
Yes, Edward was her first choice. Her love for him was "unconditional and irrevecable" (sp?). But there was another choice. A valid one and even Edward saw that. Bella could have remained human with Jacob. And that was another path.
Rob's position in this franchise and his character, Edward is in no way threatened by Taylor Lautner or his character Jacob. In terms of their level of stardom and their standing in the industry? Rob is sitting pretty. And Taylor's coming along too, but where are his WFE and
UC roles? Taylor is still seen as a teen star whereas Rob is starring in dramatic roles opposite such actresses as Kristen Scott Thomas and Reese Witherspoon. You see the difference?
So Summit can market this triangle all they want (as this is what the author wrote) and it's not hurting Rob Pattinson one bit. We all know how the story turns out. He gets the girl. He gets their baby. He gets his happy ending. He WINS!!!
This may be Bella's story, but really, who is propelling this worldwide hysteria? Kristen Stewart? Taylor Lautner? No. Robert Pattinson.
He is Twilight.
So...don't get all upset about it. Just have fun with it.
@Nik...your last two posts... I hope you will come back. My pet peeve is the way that Summit is making much more of the triangle. Yes! SM had it in but it wasn't three books long.
Now on to Remember me... I don't think 54 plus Mils is chump (sp) change. The Critic and their self importance review didn't help and the sad ending may put ppl off... but, I do think that the movie was damn good and well acted and for a 16mil... I've checking the BO regularly (RP did that to me.. I never did that before) and some of the movies out there that cost... 200 ml + didn't make much money back... Just look as RC's Robin Hood? I would like to know though... the 16mil that the movie costs... is that 16 mil uncluding the publisizing (sp) of the movie too. I'd like to know.

Summit is pushing this but again, while it may aggravate Rob's fans, this triangle is no threat to him in the films or to him as a star. HE is the one who has emerged from all of this the global phenomenon.
As for Remember Me...
I don't know if the 16 million included the budget for film promotion. But even though the film has thus far pulled in what, 54 million in worldwide B.O., that is not what it made. With Hollywood's 'fuzzy' math, a film has to make back double it's budget before it sees profit. Which means RM had to make 32 million (or more if that 16 mil did not include the publicity campaign, but let's say it did), then you minus 32 from 54 and you've now got 22 million in profit. Not a lot of coin for a kid who's in the middle of a billion dollar worldwide cultural phenomenon.
It is seen as a failure because so much more was expected from it. Hollywood was expecting a close to 20 million opening with a final box office take of nearing a 100 million. And it didn't do that.
But as I said, I believe this is going to do VERY WELL on dvd and the second go round of reviews will be better than upon it's initial theatrical release (just hope that with the poor showing, they don't scrimp on the dvd with the extras. Alot of times when a film fails financially, the studio elects not to pour more money into it by goosing up the dvd).
I think it is an extrodinary film that will more appreciated as the years pass. One film had to be the first to deal with this subject and open the doors for others to follow through, but...for some, it was just too soon to go there.
