Robert Pattison talks about his new haircut on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday (May 19).
The 24-year-old Twilight star joked, “I got a terrible infestation of nits (head lice) and I had to shave it all off!”
Rob laughed, “No, I’m doing a film starting on Thursday (in Los Angeles). It’s about a circus in the 1930’s called Water for Elephants with Reese Witherspoon.”
Thank goodness he was joking about the head lice!!!

oh, my 79yr old mom called me at work today to tell me that my "boyfriend" was going to be on ellen, too funny. before she hated that i liked him but i showed her both twilight movies and now she knows who he is.

On the program, Ellen comments that Rob seems more at ease acting than chatting on a talk show, and she says she thinks he might be shy.
"I just like doing things where you have a little time to think about what you're saying," Rob replies. "I've always had a problem actually thinking before I open my mouth."
"Being spontaneous?" Ellen asks.
"Yeah, being spontaneous or just thinking. I have a problem with thinking… Thinking in real time," he explains.

This boy makes me quiver! I am so excited to see this interview. Such great chemistry with Ellen. She's so easygoing and I think Rob is one of those souls that tends to sock up the atmosphere around him. Love him to death!!

What the hell is he wearing?? Why the shabby jacket/suit thing? Oh, yeah, it's Rob so you never know, but why the jacket and not shirt with the rolled up sleeves. I thought he ran hot, well temperature wise, why is he wearing that layer. Once again, it's Rob he doesn't really pay attention unless someone tells him to. Very excited to see him on Ellen and how she has some fun with him. Hope he explains the haircut after the joke.

Yup. This is how the hair is gonna look for this role. And wait till he shaves it all off one day for another role. As I said earlier, the screams will be heard around the world. LOL! And I'm guessing they're not going with the red 'cause why didn't the dye it when they had him in the chair for the cut?
As for Eclipse promotion? I just don't think he's going to be involved as he was for the previous two. How can he? He'll be in the middle of filming. How could he take three weeks off for another world tour? Besides, he just did one six months ago.
I don't think he'll be doing the eastcoast talk shows either. I mean, he could, but I doubt it. I think this time it's gonna be Ellen, Kimmel and maybe Jay. All west coast shows. And now that I think of it, he just did the east coast shows less than three months ago for Remember Me. And I don't think there will be a major magazine cover this time either. And only because we haven't heard of any photoshoot for one.
Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings. But truth is, he's already done enough publicity for this franchise to last any actor a lifetime.
But enjoy what you can now, 'cause once this franchise is over, you watch and see if he don't clam up. We'll be lucky if we get a major interview every five years.

Hi Nik: I agree that Robert's contractual interviews and promo travel will have to be more controlled...but maybe some travel after WFE and Eclipse premiere, as it opens in different global markets... but isn't it true that Rob's recent films are all Summit productions? What's his next film; isn't he trying to sandwich in another one after WFE and before Breaking Dawn, playing a comanche?
He has said he'll have time after the shooting of Breaking Dawn at the end of the year, but it sounds like Breaking Dawn won't begin film production until late fall. Have I got this schedule right?
He's so charming, positive and optimistic and said that in that brief break time he'd like to write more music, and maybe a book or a screenplay... what do you think, Nik? He should be able to squeeze that in before the end of the year, right? ;0

With WFE starting this week and with this being a pretty big and complicated production ('cause I'm guessing if any of those lions and tigers and bears oh my, not to mention ELEPHANTS don't want to particpate on any given day, then they ain't gonna and there will go that day's shoot AND with the possibility of injuries on a set like this...there could be delays), that this will be at least a 12 week shoot and possibly as long as 16 weeks. Which would wrap this thing most likely late August/early September. And with Breaking Dawn set for October (as far as we know) and when in October, I do not know (beginning/middle/late), I'm gonna take another guess and say that he'll most likely have somewhere in the vacinity of six weeks off between films. Would that be enough time to get in another film?
Possibly. If it were a very small film with maybe a 4 week shooting schdule like say How To Be. And at the moment, Rob is is demand for much bigger projects. And I don't think that six weeks between WFE and BD would give him enough time to go off and shoot Unbound Captives as that one would require some MAJOR pre-production. For that role he's got to learn to ride bareback (very dangerous) and he's got to learn Camanche (very difficult, unless he's just going to do it phonetically, which would still be difficult). So if he is doing Unbound Captives, I don't know how he can do it until after BD. Also...
He won't have alot of pre-production on BD as he's pretty much got the role of Edward Cullen down pat. But still, there are costume fittings and script read throughs and rehearsals and one very important thing...
He and Kristen are going to be playing parents this time and they're going to have some little ones that they're going to have to be working with; a couple of babies of about 3 months old (playing the newborn) and a couple of toddlers (3 to 4 years old) playing Renesmee at a couple of months (and they'll have at least two of each to switch off with. when using babies, they get twins).
And they've got quite a few scenes with their baby and so it stands to reason, that whatever babies they're going to be working with, they are going to have to spend some quality time with those babies so that they'll be comfortable in Rob's and Kristen's arms on camera. Those babies need to know them, to know their scents so that when the cameras roll and Rob or Kristen have to hold them, nuzzle them, kiss them, they won't be screaming to high the heavens for the mamas. In other words, Rob and Kristen cannot be strangers to these babies. So I would imagine that part of their pre-production on BD is going to be...playing with babies.
And I was thinking that with Rob saying recently that he'd like to be a young Dad, if he has a good experience with these little ones,
then that idea might actually cement with him. But if he gets a bunch of screamers, he might think...
'Oooh. Might wanna be thinking this young Daddy thing through a bit more.' LOL!

A last thought...
If the production was smart, they'd
have Rob and Kristen take each of these babies (individually) for a full day and a night. Just hand her to them and say...here's your baby, go take care of her for a full day; feed her, change her (or put her on the pot) bathe her, play with her, hold her, kiss her, read her a bedtime story, sing her a lullaby, and put her to bed. Get up with her in the night if she cries and then get back up with her in the morning and do it all again. Seriously. These babies need to be comfortable in their presence.
And not just during pre-production, but throughout the shoot, they need to spend time with these babies even when the cameras arent' rolling.
If they do, they'll have a better shoot with them.

Second week in July? That would be a seven week shoot. It took him longer to shoot Bel Ami. Twilight took 2 months. New Moon, 2 and 1/2 months and Eclipse, three.
And this is a much bigger and more complicated production than any of those films. If they can shoot this in just seven weeks, I'll faint.
Although I suppose it's possible if they forgo the real animals and just CGI them in.
Another thing (with me, there's always another thing) *rolls eyes*)...
If Kristen does get this role in "On The Road" and it goes with the proposed start date of September (and I don't know when in September), depending on the length of the shoot (and I don't imagine it would be too terribly long as I believe her role is a supporting one. an important role but supporting), then that could push BD back a bit. Most likely to mid/late October? I sure hope she can get this one in and not have to give it up for BD like Rob did Parts Per Billion for New Moon. "On The Road" was one of the most influential books of that second half of the 20th century and for Kristen to be involved with it, this is tremendous.
And if BD is going to be 2 films (and why wouldn't it be? Meyer wants it and there's double the money to be made), then they're going to have a longer shoot than for the other films (and Eclipse took them 3 months). And they're also going to run into the holidays in the middle of filming and film productions usually shut down for about 10 days, pushing the schedule back some more. So considering when they might start, losing some time for the holidays, shooting two films instead of one, I don't know how they'll get this one done in under four months which would wrap it sometime in February? I don't know. These are just guesstimates.
@Nik- On the Road starts shooting in August and she is locked in. As far I know (can't find the source but I will look) November is the expected start for BD, but with the contacts still unresolved, I don't think anything is final.
My last thought here (swear to god)...
If Rob really is going to do Unbound Captives (whenever), shooting this film would give him the perfect opportunity to practice bareback riding. Because as I recall, Marlena is a bareback rider. Which means? Correct. There will be horses with barebacks running around this thing.
Note to Rob...
Get thy gorgeous tush on a horse. NOW! 'Cause it takes more than a few go rounds to get a handle on horseback riding. Especially without a saddle. It's dangerous, which is why most humans won't ride a horse without one.
Without some considerable training, I don't know how he's going to make this look believeable. The saddle is what helps to get us up onto the horse and keeps us up there. Without one? You gotta get up and stay on by the strength of your own legs.

Glad to hear the "On The Road" is firm with an earlier start date than September. I worried that she might lose the role because of BD.
And BD now November? Man. Originally it was September. I've been secretly hoping that these delays were because they'd realized that including the imprinting was going to be a mistake and so they went back and re-wrote the script and THAT'S whats causing the delays.
And here I mock others for their fantasies and delusions.
