Edward looks indeed like a statue, but I'm afraid this is due to the photoshopping, which gives that gloss in his face. We'd better be prepared that in the movie he'll have the plastered look again. For me it doesn't matter that much as I believe it's almost impossible to give the vampires the look as described in the books. What I was often wondering about: very white make-up, most of time used by clowns, take away the facial expressions. So I think it must be very difficult for an actor to show all this range of emotions with a film of 'plaster' on your face. And than saying that Rob don't act in the Twilight franchise, how dare they.
@DeDe, read your comment on the other thread about Edward in NM. You're right by stating that he's been frosen at the age of 17, but he lived the whole 20th century with all his economical and technical changes and wars, so these experiences made him an 'old soul' in a 17-year old body. Out of boredom and being highly intelligent he also studied a lot which gives him much more knowledge than can be expected from a teenager. I think Nik meant this when she wrote Edward felt old. In NM Edward struggled between his love for Bella and the fact that she was continually in danger, being with him. After the break-up he lost the energy for going on with his masquerading, hence the suit for almost the rest of the movie (in my opinion of course). I've always founded that Rob's analysis of Edward is much more thoughtful and deeper than in general Twilight fans might see Edward. I think he really nailed this complex character.
Oh and when more than a year ago someone would have told me that I one dag would write, in English (!), in that way about a fictional character I would've bursted out laughing of disbelieve.

Love is in the air
Everywhere I look around
Love is in the air
Every sight and every sound
And I don't know if I'm being foolish
Don't know if I'm being wise
But it's something that I must believe in
And it's there when I look in your eyes
I know .....

2nd row to the left.-- Is it not a dream of a man? GAH!!!!!!!!!
Edward is sooooo beautiful. Le sigh. I can see why Bella couldn't breath when he was around.
