I dont think it had to do with stealing thunder. they were prob both invited, but rob has commitments to WFE. if anything, rob would have gotten the invite over kristen. sorry, but its true. he has a lot more star power.
I saw the list of invitees and it looks like it's mostly women celebrities with a few men thrown in there for good measure. Agree with you though. Rob would have been invited.
then again it is a costume gala. even when i watch the oscars or any other award show. i do it to see the dresses. i hope she wears something blue like she did for the oscars she looked classy and respectable.

yeah. when people say 'oh they didn't get together till Italy' or 'they didn't get together till the night of the mtv awards'. nope. it was vancouver during NM. After that day we saw Michael piggybacking her down the street? They were never photographed together again. It was over. and some think those shots were 'staged.' i don't. i don't think kristen would take it that far. but it was over and those last shots of them goofing, was their last.
and no evangaline. as was said, rob most definitely was invited to this (and it is THE social event of the year in NY and one of the biggest nights in all of show business) and they definitely wanted his star power there. but he is working this week. he's got lots of work to do before he is ready to step in front of that camera. and i'm gonna guess that the last thing he wants to do is fly to chicago and sit on oprah's couch. nothing against oprah, but taking time to go do this is well...taking his time and right now in terms of getting ready for this thing, it's precious. remember, it's a pretty good bet he lost some time because of the 'cloud.' from the time that bel ami wrapped until he left europe, it was two weeks. he may have had some pick ups or looping to do for bel ami, but not 2 weeks worth. also...
there was a shot of rob taken during these of him and Kristen watching Sam's performance. it was the most adorable picture of rob. he was standing there looking at sam with the sweetest, proudest look on his face. his love for his friend was so evident on his face...in just that moment. does anyone remember that shot?

i thought the pictures were strange because it was already over with them and kristen just isn't the kind of person to go along with that kind of fakery. i guessed that she was just playing with him because they had been friends for so long.
and for those who say that she dumped michael one night and was in rob's bed the next. not quite. her break up with michael was slow and painful and michael knew that she was falling in love with rob. everybody knew it. when she finally did end it, michael was not 'shocked.' sad and hurt ( so was she). but not shocked.
her relationship with rob was 18 months in the making and michael knew that after she had met rob, that it was only a matter of time. but he hung in there.
i laugh when some of these little girls are so OUTRAGED that she 'dumped' michael for rob. she met michael when she was 13 and started dating him at 16. what? she was suppose to only date him for the rest of her life? from the way these little twits nattered on, you'd think she'd been cheating on a husband.

Phewww....I'm glad I wasn't the only one? Back then, I was kinda the silent observer. I never really participated in any comments in regards to R&K. But it was after these pictures turned up that I felt like something was a lil off ( or ON!) and then the "Charlie House" pretty much sealed the deal with me.

hmmm...in a word, yes. but people have got it wrong. that is, the dynamics of it all. i just cannot go into all of this on a public blog but yes, things were different with and about nikki but not for the reasons everyone thinks. i'll just say this. nikki didn't have no crush on rob. she knew the score. she knew he loved kristen. EVERYBODY KNEW IT! he is just too real a person to hide such overwhelming feelings.
but i just can't say much more. suffice to say, this little drama played itself out and the two people who belonged together...finally got together and they are happy. and that is what matters.

i am arguably, kristen' biggest champion around here. i think she is stunningly beautiful. very talented. and full of integrity. and i think she has it within her to be one of the most important actresses of her generation. and i admire the hell out her and rob for the way in which they are trying to conduct this romance of theirs with some semblence of dignity. but...
at this point in the proceedings, rob is the bigger star. in the twilight bubble i guess one could argue that they are on equal footing. but in terms of worldwide stardom? no.
if kristen were still with michael, do you honestly think the papps would be chasing her around the world trying to take her picture? but lets say rob was with ashley green. now who would the papps be chasing? if ashley were rob right now, she would be a much bigger star because her profile would be bigger.
rob is the magnet. not kristen. and i'm just talking 'celebrity' here. she is not mobbed on her film sets. it's not her name that is being dropped all over and anywhere. it's his and when it is, it gets ATTENTION!

actually dina, i really can't. this is a public blog and these are real human beings with real human feelings. I wouldn't think to expose the few things i know. i'd hate it if someone did it to me. chances are, someone on the inside will one day write a book about the whole thing. with the way that the public wants every little tidbit of a stars life, i dare say, the backstage story of twilight would probably sell more books than the actual series. i'll just say this one last thing...
when ted c. said that the backstage drama of all of this was more entertaining than the movie, if alot knew what really happened, they would think that was true.
i just don't happen to feel that other people's personal lives should be played out like a movie for our entertainment. if these people want to talk about it someday, then that is their perogitive. i won't. because it's not my place.

I agree with nik that Rob is at the top and Kristen's star power isn't as great, not that there's anything wrong with that. I really do hope that Kristen is able to get a good role soon on her own (non-Twilight). Not that I would begrudge Rob anything, but I would just like to see Kristen get a solid role.

i just want to make one thing PERFECTLY CLEAR. i have never said a word about the sexual orientation of nikki reed or of anyone else connected with these films. first off, i do not have all of that information. and even if i did, i would never discuss something so private about a public person unless they had already gone on record. you go on record publicly? then you've invited the world to gossip and pass judgement down on you.
when i said that nikki didn't have no crush on rob and that she knew the score and that she knew rob loved kristen, i was referring to the idea that rob lead nikki on. no he did not. they all knew who loved who. nobody was lied to or cheated on or led along. rob never hid his true feelings. he's incapable of it and nikki was a big girl and knew what was what. it's been really hard holding my tongue on this one. but the truth is, it doesn't matter what i say. i can't prove my credibility and even if i could, there are those who are going to believe what they're going to believe and nothing, no how, never is going to change their minds.

I read somewhere that Kristen's dress is Chanel and it's supposed to be hip and edgy. If you notice most of the older actresses are wearing the longer gowns.

@Nik, et al, respect your opinions and inside info Nik, there's only one thing I tend to disagree with and that is that Rob was like hopelessly in love with K from the start. Ain't buying it. He sure respected her and she piqued his interest, similar interests, lots of time interacting how to play E&B, yup there was a certain chemistry, but my take is that it was over a good period of time in each other's company, that their relationship developed. Good friends, kindred spirits even, first and then it evolved. IMO, the best foundation for a couple. This is not a case of 2 actors who were thrown together as romantic leads and decided to test the waters. With all the time they have spent together in hotel rooms, forcibly because of the intense pappz/gossip interest, I dare say that Kristen knows Rob better than anyone. And vice-versa. And so she chooses to put her little ass on a plane to fly great distances despite the difficulties and intense scrutiny to be with him for milestone events. This is to Rob's credit and hers as well. They are the real deal, for the moment, and all the previous personal drama on Twilight is water under the bridge. And for the naysayers who want PROOF, PDA, or something, get a grip.

Met Gala - Kris's dress - amazing. But I don't really like it on Kristen. The dress looks like it was made for someone taller. Don't get me wrong... I love Kristen but I had really high hopes for a WOW dress and while this one was very haute couture... the dress was clearly designed with someone tall in mind. I feel that the could have done a better job matching a haute couture dress to Kristen.
And about the Kristen boob comments: Clearly Rob is an a*s and legs, man. I'm just saying.

you have said a few months ago what the tension was on the set and I remember it well. I am not going into details, but I too heard the exact story from a diff source, but I am taking what you said and what i was told with again of salt. I too know people who have "inside" info and it conflicts heavily on the happily ever after part of R&K and MA not everything is peachy keen in twilight land and a great deal of the tension has to do with R&K. I try to take what I know with a grain of salt... I am just saying just be careful with what you know or think you know.

I highly doubt that assumption. We don't know their personal life, but certain developments do stand out. NR made herself persona non grata on the NM set, and left as soon as her work was done and distanced herself from Twi cast and started making nasty quip's about Rob in interviews. Simple facts.
There was obviously a breaking point. The rumor? Crew members have said NR gave Kris a verbal slapdown about her personal life, on set, very publicly, with Rob not around. Which was later answered by Rob going nuclear on NR, on set, again before crew. Someone went into attack mode, and someone fired back. Real faces were revealed and ground lines were drawn.
Is that a fact? WHo knows, but this much is clear: things were never the same again. Rob has turned a cold shoulder to NR ever since, while Kris appears to have tried to remain cordial, but distanced.
I don't think Rob "dumps" friends, but I imagine he is smart enough to eventually recognize when someone is not his friend. Their motivations are their business... I think we should respect that Rob does what's best for him (and his!). And I like to think he doesn't use other people, or else I wouldn't be such a fan. Enough (too much) said....

Actually for me their attraction/ fascination with each other and seeing all that unfold whether in front of or behind the scenes was like watching a romantic drama only it was full of secrets and clues and suspense lol, their "love story" if you will was more interesting (like Nik said) than the actual Twilight saga! What will we talk about if they broke up? hmmm stuff I guess, Rob fans will talk about his new hookup and Kirsten fans will do the same, and fans of both will just be sad that they did break up thinking that they were so cute together and whatnot, *sorta like the Goss and Rachel McAdams* fans were disappointed but life went on, I think the same thing will happen here.

I completely agree. Even not knowing at all what was happening, it was easy to see this drastic shift in NRs behaviour, especially towards Rob and in interviews.
What I can´t understand is why she acted ( and still does ) HURT and JELOUS, when it was obvious to all how Rob felt about Kristen ?
I mean, just the way he was looking at her, not to mention certain amount of verbal praise as well...
Someone tell me why NR is going to be on Ellen like the day before Rob but not Kristen? Kristen is the main character. What does NR offer? To me she has an attitude of a woman scorned which is classless to show in public.
