I was in love and lived with a photographer/painter for quite a few years and he taught me to 'look' at photographs (and I am not artistic in that area so I get wrong more than I get it right)
But I think the reason this particular and (on the surface), rather ordinary photograph is so captivating is because of the expression on Robert Pattinson's face. It is revealing something to the camera; an 'unguarded' moment captured and we can all 'see' it and that's why it's captivating us.
Because there is nothing else about this photo that is particularly interesting except...

I believe the tickets are for his opening night, June 22nd. I don't have the tickets with me. They're at the box office with my name on them.
I've been staring at this picture trying to come up with a scenario that it isn't what it seems. Like maybe he thought Taylor was going to come in on her other cheek (ala that EW photoshoot), but T's too far back and like Nik said it isn't a photoshoot with the photographer trying to create a mood or dynamic, obviously, based on Taylor's expression. So all I can come up with is that the two of them got a little giddy that day and he just couldn't help himself. I'm thinking he might have been pushing her buttons a bit to see if she'd react. They seem to have that kind of teasing relationship with each other, like when she went to grab him to rip his shirt off after he joked about shirtless Taylor (in the Oprah backstage interview).

We KNOW that face. Probably second only to those who actually know him. We've look at it from every angle. We stared at it for hours studying it. We KNOW that face. And in this shot it is revealing 'something' and because we KNOW that face...we can 'see' it.

It's either photo shop, or they're doing it for PR. That's what annoys me, the whole PR excuse. None of them seem the type of people who would put themselves in a relationship just to get publicity. If they wanted publicity, they'd make out or kiss, or hug in broad daylight, in front of the papparazzi.
And even so called fans come up with this, and use everything that Rob and Kris do, as a PR reason. If these were fans of Rob, they wouldn't imagine he'd do something as disgusting as that. They'd believe his own words: that he doesn't like paparazzi. Also, they wouldn't make Rob out to be dead weak, and someone who lays on the floor to get walked over.
Because if Kristen was so clingy, as people say: apparent examples (Remember Me Premiere + her own Birthday + night after the BAFTAS)...Then they might as well say Rob is a mug and can be walked all over. My opinion would lower if it were ever true he was easy to be walked all over. It's like, come on, use some common sense! He's a grown man, I'm sure he's able to decide who he wants nothing to do with and who he wants his life to involve. I think Billy was trying to point out that because early on, Rob was so often described as 'brooding' (and only because he was playing a vampire), that there was another side to him. Perhaps not one that people might expect.

@Nik, LOL, yuh, it's pretty obvious that they probably don't cut each other much slack. Did people get why Kristen went for Rob's shirt? He said the scene was funny 'cause Taylor had his shirt off. As he's chuckling about the joke he's made, she's cutting him eyes, looks at him, says "Hey, Rob" goes to grab his collar, but he ducks her. She says just let me get his shirt off real quick. The point: Let's see your 6-pack Rob or, rather lack of one. They're quite a team.

Well, thanks for that. It's just that I like this girl. And like Rob, there's just something about her and she gets to me; her shyness, her awkwardness. Like him, I find it endearing and I don't know. Maybe part of it is that's she's so tiny (and to me, tiny comes across as vulnerable and I think that in private, she is and that she puts on that 'game face' of hers to go out and face the public) and when I see her struggling, I just want to hold her and tell her...'it's okay baby. you're doing fine. just hang on. all of this shit can't last forever.' But I guess that's just the mother in me and I'm not embarrassed about it (and just because I couldn't have one of my own, doesn't mean that those kinds of feelings aren't strong in me. They are. Very) And I've mentioned before that she gets criticized for the same things that he gets fawned over and it bugs the shit out of me.
And yes, I am very sold on her talent. She is that rarest of actors; she is a
re-actor, meaning, you can't see her acting. And that's because it's so real, natural, just like her. Which is why I believe so many (who don't even understand the craft of acting) think she can't. Oh yes she can. She's gonna wind up one of the best of her generation.
And I know that people must be pretty sick and tired of me saying this (but it qualifies damn near everything I say here), and that is...I've grown up in this business and I've seen the underbelly of it and the gut wretching phoniness of it and these two are just...different. There is a truthfulness to them and it's rare...in this town. And it gets them in trouble because they don't 'play the game.' They just are who they are and I admire and adore them both it. And I am happy for them. For 18 months they struggled with this and now look at them? They're happy. You can see it. And with all that they're having to deal with right now, how can anyone not be happy for what they've found together? And I don't know what the depth of it is. It may just be something to get them through this time in their lives or...they might have a shot at a lifetime and a family together. Who knows?
For alot, I think she got off on the wrong foot with that first go round of publicity for Twilight. She was dealing with a lot of shit then; her personal life was going through some changes, she'd been hit with a wave of fame and scrutiny that she'd never asked for and yeah, she stuggled a bit. But look at her this year. A near one eighty (personal life settled, learning to deal with the fame) and still, some will not budge from that original impression they made of her and that's because for a lot of people, first impressions are what stick and that is so unfair because people change and grow. And for god's sake. She was 18 then and today she's 20 and yeah, she's growing up.
One of the sad things about Rob and Kristen is that they've both still got some growing up to do and now they've got to do it in the white hot glare of the media spotlight with the whole goddamn world weighing in with their opinions and their JUDGEMENTS! God! If the whole word had watched me finish growing up? Holy Shit! LOL!

It's weird to see this picture. The photographer managed to capture something, a second before or a second after and Rob was probably back in a normal pose. K and T haven't reacted - they are still looking at the camera.
There was a story going around the internet a few months back that they'd reveal their relationship after Eclipse opens, which I took with the usual grain of salt. But there may be something in it, because in the space of a few days we've had the Oprah moments, then backstage footage at Oprah and now this pic .... It does feel like they are slowly moving into the light - with them inviting us in for a (nice) change.
No other media couple have guarded their privacy so fiercely in recent times (well no one in their league comes to mind). But it’s remarkable for a 19 & 23 year old in Hollywood to do something like this and they’ve succeeded because they are so clearly intelligent and never entertain any bullshit. There are people in the industry that would die for their level of publicity but it only worked in R&K’s favour because they had integrity – it couldn’t be repeated with anyone else now.
It's like they started their own little "passive resistance" movement against the media and the industry and it’s clearly working. Rob’s likeability has counteracted any possible backlash for not playing along with the industry/media etc – he doesn’t hurt anyone and he’s never rude – so who can have a go at him? Actually I notice that lots of interviewers seem reluctant to ask him about his personal life because he’s so lovely, who wants his disapproval? All this respect is a testament to Rob - he is so loved, he’s got such a golden personality, all those idiosyncrasies and facets, and then he’s got this intense sexuality and pure beauty about him.
I’m so glad R&K have each other. After the journey they’ve been on I can't imagine Rob being with anyone else now, nor would I want to.

One photo does not necessarily negate another. Because different photos can capture different things.
In one photo, he could look like he adores her and in another, he could look like he doesn't even know her. But considering, just their friendship, which one would be capturing the truth?
We've seen tons of pictures of them together and as I said, there is just 'something' about this one.
But I also know that some will never 'see' it because they don't want to or they just simply cannot.
I've joked about this before, but I think it might be true for some...
If one day, these two are photographed walking around with their baby in their arms, some will find a way to dismiss it.
* That's not their baby. They haven't even admitted to being together. It must be a friend's baby.

They have coped fantastically well considering the spotlight they've been under.
Rob has an almost universal likeability factor but unfortunately Kristen brings out mixed reactions in people. I was shy when I was her age and it's so annoying when people interpret shyness as unfriendliness. Oprah annoyed me when she kept going on about Kristen being shy - I noticed that K started stumbling on her words after that.
I forgot to say earlier, I do think R&K are great role models for the next generation of actors.

I think I may have written on this blog maybe once before, but I am an avid reader of it. I will only contribute if I feel like I have something to add, or in this case, something strikes me as interesting.
To the point- I think you have something here. I believe (i before e, thanks rob) that this may in fact start some sort of movement in young hollywood. Rob and Kristen are in the public eye more than any young actor right now (though sometimes I get confused on how big this really is since I, unlike normal people (yes, i said it. we are not normal) indulge in it every day). Their actions and attitudes cannot be going unnoticed. And with their popularity, it may just start off as new actors wanting that attention (because let's be serious, most of their attention and appeal is due to this brooding, "realness" the two stay true to). But I can see it going far. Far to a point where, one day it may start a complete demise of what Hollywood has become (paps, etc). Okay, that was a little far fetched. And who am I kidding? The paps will never go away, just grow and continue to piss us the fuck off. But it does make me wonder what hollywood will become ten yrs from now.
Regarding 'Robsten'- I am with you Nik, we have no idea if their relationship is just convenient, them understanding each other so well, and currently experiencing the same things. They may be no more than friends by the end of the Twilight films. Or, it may, in fact, be the real thing, little robstens running around soon and all. But i'll tell you that it is something. For those non-believers out there, are you blind? If it weren't for the obvious photographs that we have so willingly looked at ( Nik- yes, we are just enabling the paps, but I'm not going to lie and say I haven't seen them), it is evident through their more recent body language, or kstews breakup with ma, that the rest of us see as pretty damn clear.

I love these pictures. I just keep smiling. They look so easy and comfortable together. The accompanying article was a hoot. I would love to see video of the moment.
That being said, I agree with Nik that the camera can capture a split second in time, a moment that speaks to us. What you chose to read into it is something else but it draws us in to look and wonder. I think that moment was captured. In real time the moment is quick and fleeting but a photographer, if he is lucky, talented or both, can capture the essence and that draws the viewer in. Okay, that's deep enough for now.
I agree with april and nik. These two are dating and seem to like each other a helluva lot, but I have no idea how serious it is or how long it will last. The odds are greatly against them making it long term but you never know.
R&K aren't putting on a relationship hoax (one year currently) to get people's butts in the theater. What I mostly see is Rob wears his heart on his sleeve which is why the pictures of them in Madrid in November were so telling and this is just more of the same. It was sooo obvious on Oprah with the way he kept looking at her. Kristen is right - Rob is a bad liar.
What do people expect? Do they expect Rob and Kris to kiss in public like Carey Mulligan and Shia what's his name? Yuck.

Man, you guys are making such great comments here. So decent that thus far the naysayers have yet to show up. And I know some feel that since this is Rob's site we shouldn't be talking about K. How is that possible? We're talking about his career and his life and she is a major part of both so how can we not (when it applies) include her too?
But I wanted to finish my comment to KStewrocks' post.
The publicity thing.
I wrote about this before but I don't save anything and even if I did I'm not comp savy enough to put up links. So I'll just nutshell it here.
There's no conspiracy. They've got too much personal integrity (and her with her built in bullshit detector?) to allow their personal lives to be USED to sell movie tickets. It's laughable.
However, Summit does want this quiet because they fear a backlash if they went public (and loudly) and then had a nasty breakup (a cheating scandal; she's a tramp or he's a pig) before they can finish selling this thing to the public.
With the lines of fantasy & reality so blurred with these two, Summit fears that if they were seen as a real life Edward and Bella then it shattered, it could hurt the franchise. And R&K being the private people they are, they got no problem in going along.
But never have they lied about themselves. Because again this is where intergrity comes into play. Just because they don't give up to the public the details of their relationship, doesn't mean they are lying about it. "No comment" is not a lie. It means 'we don't want to talk about it.' It's called having DISCRETION and I wonder if people even understand what that word means anymore because they see so little of it in a world where the famous spill their guts left & right about their personal lives. And because of this I think people have developed a sense of entitlement about knowing what is going on in the lives of the famous. They somehow feel they're owed, that they've the right to know. And they don't. The only thing an actor owes the public is a performance. Beyond that they owe us NOTHING!
These two are just trying to conduct their lives in the middle of a shitstorm with a little dignity. And TotallyRobbed? You hit on something. Others in the industry are watching these two and they're awed at how they're managing to pull this off and it's causing some of them to re-think their approach they're starting to bail on the twiddle and facebook.
And one last thing.
You are so right about the Nikki Reed thing. If people only knew what really went down there. They think they've got it but they don't. And I can't go into it on a public blog. Suffice to say Rob is the nicest, sweetest kid around but when push comes to shove he don't take shit from no one.

I don't think this was 'a coming out' or staged or anything. It was just a tiny moment that got captured and it's there on his face.
They're honest enough people that if they were going to come out, they just would.
But they obviously don't want to and they don't have to. But as photographed as they are, occasionally a photo is going is going to capture their feelings. Once in awhile. As this one did with Rob.

I'm not denying this photo or the legitimacy of their feelings. I just think that summit would probably want to keep this photo under wraps since they dont want to call attention to their relationship and all. This pic goes against everything you and other have said regarding summit.
In my humble opinion I think they DGAF, but they are still under contract. Also if they want privacy so much then why would they take a photo that is only going to create hype after the frenzy seemed to die down a little over the last month?
I've said this before. They don't do staged photo opps, but they do work with the paps because they are forced to. I believe they legitimately want to be left alone, but I also realize there have been times when they go to these high profile places. they should be allowed to go wherever they please and do as they please , but it calls attention to something they would rather have been left alone. If just very contradictory to what has been said about them and what they have said about themselves.
I agree with the "no comment" in terms of them just not wanting to talk about it, but there are some things that too obvious for it not to be for PR..this pic being once of them.
Do I believe he wanted to lean in for a quick smooch and the camera fan just happened to catch him? Yes, but I also believe the reason this photo is being relased is just to stir up some hype again. DO Rob &Kris want it? No, but they have to do it.
I agree in that it wasn't them "coming out" or staged. But isn't it odd that this face of Rob's was captured during a photo shoot? I can see if we found it in the hands of the paps, but for him to make this gesture (or whatever it is) in such a public setting surprises me. I wonder what was going on in his mind (that is, if he was even thinking), what he is about to do (whether it be smell her, or maybe kiss her), and how kristen reacted afterwards. Hm.. just makes me wonder what happens to the photos that may have captured more (event wise... since I think the photographer nailed the emotion).
nik- I haven't kept up with the nikki reed situation. It is obvious that something went on between her and Rob (buying boxes last xmas, nikki and kristen's "close" friendship ending, her pulling out of the movie they were set to do, nikki's odd/almost rude comments that may be referring to the two during interviews, etc.) Is this all that everyone else knows, or am I missing out on something?
** and by you and others, I also include myself. I used to believe it, but looking at things realistically from ALL angels and not just R&K's.. its too obvious for it ot to be some sort of "setup".. a very loosely termed setup lol.

Sorry. But I'm going back and reading the comments and just responding to them as I go through them.
They were in Chicago for less than 24 hours. They sat for an interview and small photo shoot with USA Today, a legitmate newspaper. They weren't shown these photos because they weren't even developed yet and therefore, they or Summit didn't go over them meticulously in order to give their approval. Again...
It was just a tiny moment 'caught'. Some don't see anything and some see do. Were just interpreting here and giving opinion. And that's all we do here...interpret and give opinion.
And with the answers they give to THE question, no, I don't think they're trying to hide it. I think they are being DISCRETE!
If Rob was hiding a relationship with someone we wouldn't know anything about it. Lets just say that his life played out just as it has this past year and he was really sleeping with Ashley Greene. Now that would be hiding something because they are never seen together unless it's in a professional capacity. Actors hide things all the time; illigitimate children, homosexual relationships.
'Course that would be difficult for Rob as he is one of the most sought after people on the planet. But if he wanted to, he could. He could parade around a fake relationship to hide the real one.
Rob and Kristen arent' hiding. They just aren't talking. But with as big a spotlight that's on them, the truth is occasionally going to get CAUGHT!
And some of feel that in this photo, it did. Some do not. That's fine too.

It makes sense that the photograph that creates the most controversy is going to be used. Each time someone see's this photo or reads this article, USA today wins. Whether or not Summit had anything to do with it is uncertain. I know my fair share about film as an art ( i am a film student ) but I lack knowledge of the business side. In my opinion, Summit is going want to build up the Robsten talk again since they are releasing Eclipse next month. They wont, however, want to give anything away. More talk-more publicity- good for Summit. Come July 1st, they will (IF they really do have a contract with the two actors) try and simmer it down so they are able to do the same thing come nov 2011.
Though, at the rate things are going, I don't think people will have to wait for 2011 to find out the truth. Rob and kristen continue to get more comfortable with the attention, and as we see here, Rob might not be able to hold it in much longer. But don't expect any public statement. I pretty certain that neither rob nor kristen would ever do that, in fear of "cheapening" the relationship. And they're right, it's not for us to know.

You have me really curious as to this whole Nikki situation. I drew my own conclusion piecing together all that I've read. Rob was always smitten with Kristen (and vice versa) since the beginning and for obvious reasons at that time could not be together. Nikki on the other hand wanted Rob but the feelings were not reciprocated and that's when she started the backhanded commments towards Rob. Kristen being on Rob's side, saw this and severed their friendship making Nikki even more bitter and to top it off, Rob & Kristen then gets together. Just my theory.
It had more to do with Nikki accusing K on cheating on her bf and picking either Rob or MA and made her feel guilty... personally I think she was right. Her backhanded comments to the press weren't, but Rob caught wind of it and stood up for her because he knew how she had conflicting feelings

To look drool over the man, I look at the pictures, watch the videos, etc. To try and understand him and this crazy world he happens to be living in, I read these posts. The "OMGGG RPATZ IS SOO HOT"'s are not my reasons for participating. Though, we all know I can't argue with that.
I guess I also like o legitimize the fangirl in me. Like I said before, I rarely write anything. I always want to, I just never do. I think it's because I don't want to give in to the fandom. I am 22 years old, graduating college in two weeks, and am trying to convince myself that all of my procrastination spent on fantasizing over this man is in good reason. Just to clarify- I have nothing against those who would rather see rob for his pretty face, silly behavior, intellect, etc. (I can go on forever). Also, I don't have anything particularly against the fandom. I do, however, have something against Summit. Also, the screaming girls freak me out. The only reason I am a twilight fan is because of kristen and rob. They stand out among all of hollywood's bs, and for that, I am utterly consumed by them.
I hope I'm not offending anyone with what I am saying. If I am, it is not intentional and you are free to pass through my comments. See this is why I should just keep my mouth shut.
Back to Nikki- I understand the conflicting feeling thing all too well. I was once in that position and it isn't an ideal one. I am really interested in hearing your other theories though, @steph.

I used to be of the opinion on K&R's rumored relationship, why don't they just come out and say it, but I totally "get it" as to why they still don't admit to it, firstly it's nobody's business, and then it could open up a big 'ol can of worms on so many levels, levels, that to us whom live so called "normal" lives just wouldn't understand. It's great that they have each other, in the business they're in I would think a "true blue" friend would be very hard to find. I do however think that Rob wear's his heart on his sleeve, I've said before that he's got a very expressive face particularly his beautiful eyes, you can see how he looks at Kristen like he adores her, it's written all over him, I've seen that look many times over the past few months, but you can tell she thinks the world of him too, it's just I think she's just a little more "careful" maybe? But anyone bashing the poor girl because of this is a total moron, for one thing she doesn't deserve it and the other....it's disrespectful to both Rob and Kristen.
I was on the newer thread but see that this one is still alive, but why is Nikki Reed's name still being brought up here?? I never followed that gossip drama you all seem to know so much about, only knew that something was fishy about her being around Rob a lot. Never bought it as something real and know she referred to KS as "her heart". Guess that got cut out. Whatever, it's ALL water under the bridge, past history, and who cares what happened. Where Rob (and Kristen) are NOW is what matters and apparently they had a bumpy road getting to the here and now, but seems obvious they're in a good place now, despite the mounds of BS they've had to endure getting there. Yes, they have become surprising role models in how they have managed to navigate the insanity surrounding them.

People are reading way too much into why this picture came out, is it a conspiracy, and so on. Rob and Kristen are dating. Rob wears his heart on his sleeve and this picture shows it. They aren't talking but aren't hiding either. Case in point: Kristen flew to Budapest to be with Rob on her birthday because she wanted to go and Rob wanted her there. She was willing to go even if it meant getting caught by the paparazzi because we all need to live our lives don't we? We can't expect R&K to stay inside with the curtains drawn and never venture out. So what if they're seen having dinner at a hotel? They are just normal people.

To show up at an event would do nothing for me. I get the obsession that these girls have for Rob, I do. I was once a huge N'sync fan and if I had been at a concert with them at that age of, lets see.. around 12? I might have been a screamer (or a fainter). I feel that I have a different sort of respect for him. It is a really hard thing to put into words, as I'm sure you understand. You said it better than me.
One thing I would love to do is have a beer with the guy. I enjoy listening to him because his thought process is much different than anyone else I know. Maybe it's the British thing. Though, I don't think so. I have many friends abroad, who are aren't too shabby looking (nothing close to our Rob, of course) and that isn't it. Ok, bare with me... It is almost like an interesting juxtaposition between him being wise beyond his years, yet very innocent with his mannerisms, humor, and goofiness in general.

I'm just curious about the whole Nikki thing since it was mentioned here, that's why I brought it up. I'm not doubting the authenticity of the picture because you can clearly see on Rob's face how happy he is and he's been looking that way for quite some time. People can sit and argue but to me, its pretty obvious that Kristen makes him happy. It pisses me off (haven't read it on this board) when some Rob "fans" chooses to believe that Rob & Kristen's entire relationship is based on PR and every move they do is for PR and maximizing their fame or to sell movie tickets instead of believing that he found someone he loves. I adore both Rob and Kristen equally, whether they're together or not. But if you read anything that comes out of their mouths, you'd know they're not the type of people to partake in fabricating a relationship for the purpose of fame.

They are not hiding and they are not robots. They are just trying to live their lives with a little dignity (in a most undignifed pop culture that is trying to disect them like a couple of frogs in biology class) and occasionally what they're truly feeling will get captured without any 'deliberate' or 'knowing' participation on their parts. They've been together for a year now and who they and what they feel for one another is going to come through occasionally; him looking at her in 'such a way' and the photog captures it. Or her laying her hand on his leg in the presence of a reporter. Or even him joking about her being pregnant. He was joking, but in a veiled way, he was telling the world that they're sleeping together. The subterfuge is starting to slip...a little.
And let me clarify something here...
Yes, they've under contract to Summit and yes, Summit's first and only concern is for the financial health of this franchise. But I've been thinking. Rob and Kristen have come a long way since they signed those first contracts back in the fall of 2007. They are huge stars now acquiring more power and clout everyday. And if they did want to go 'blantantly' public with this, Summit might break into a cold sweat, but they couldn't fire them anymore because they are simply irreplaceable in these roles and they need them for BD because there is billions of dollars on the line. Fortunately, Rob and Kristen are willing to go along with keeping it quiet. And so, this idea that every photo or every uttered word is somehow tied to what Summit is dictating to them, I'm thinking, not so much anymore.
And like someone said, once USA Today saw this photo, of course they were going to go with it because they KNEW that they'd captured a moment. And they did.
And certainly Summit is ratcheting up the publicity now because they've got a film coming out in six weeks. But Summit is in an interesting position right now. They need to sell yet protect Edward and Bella and their leads have fallen in love in real life. So they need to send these two out to sell the fantasy that they embody onscreen, yet they don't want any 'potential' offscreen complications to compromise what it is they're trying to sell.
I know. It's confusing and complicated.
Anyway. I'm giving myself a headache here and I would imagine, the rest of you too.

I sincerely apologize for dangling a carrot about that particular situation. That wasn't cool of me. But there are some things that would be even more uncool to discuss on a public blog.
These are real human beings with real human feelings and their lives are not a movie to be played out for our entertainment.
Suffice to say, something happened. Everyone knows that. But they're pros with jobs to do and when the cast reassembles in Vancouver this fall, I have no doubt that everyone will do their job. They got through Eclipse and they'll get throught the last film too.
The most important thing to remember here is...
the two people who belonged together all along, are together. Despite some obstacles, it worked out for them and they are happy. And that is lovely and it's gonna have to be enough. And that's all I can say.

I may need them. I don't know yet. A friend of mine and some of her friends are coming to LA for the premiere and they don't know if they're going to be able to get away to go see Sam. And even if they can, they may already have their own tickets. I need to go talk to my friend.
Since I'll have to go down to the box office to get them, I may as well take one and go on in. So, there could be five left. But until I talk to my friend and see how many she may or may not need, I won't know how many I'll have availabe.
If she needs them all, I may even be able to snag you another one.
So...I will keep you abreast (informed) of the situation.

What I see is Rob pushing Kristen Buttons like he said in an interview with Ryan Searcast. Ryan ask Rob if he could fall in love with kristen and he said absolutly and Ryan said that Rob is an enigma. Rob says that he likes to push Kristen buttons why?...because she is so serious while Rob is full of life.

Rob is put on a pedestal around here and it's silly. He's not a god. He's just a man. An adorable one certainly, but he's not without his own flaws. But I think that some think no one is good enough for him and that's just bullshit.
I've always felt that no matter who he was with, there would be those who would find critcism with that person and I don't know what else to chalk it up to except, irrational jealousy.
And I may be wrong, but that's what it comes across as. Why? Because most of the criticisms of this girl are just plain ridiculous. I've said before, find me a valid one and I might agree with you.
And I'm gonna repeat what I said just the other night. She's criticized for such petty things; her hair, her clothes, her facial expression (why isn't she smiling?) and my favorite...'she's with Rob, why doesn't she look happy?'
Just because she isn't smiling at one more intrusive camera doesn't mean she isn't happy with him. If she weren't happy with him, then what the hell is she doing with him? Why would she put herself through all of this scrutiny and judgement? She doesn't have to. If she'd stayed with Michael or started dating another low key guy, do you honestly think the papps would be chasing her around the world trying to get her picture? Or that the tabs would be printing lie after lie about her life? Or that this fandom would ripping her up on a daily basis? But no, she's with Rob and don't you think she knew that when she made the decision to be with him, that all of this bullshit would come down even harder on her head? And just speaking for myself, I'd have to love someone an awful lot to put myself through all of this just to be with him.
Yet the things that she gets slammed for, he gets a pass. He dresses like a bum and we call him hobolicious. His hair's a mess and we call it sex hair. We've seen dozens of pictures of him drunk and we giggle. She gets caught ONCE with a pipe in her hand and she's a druggie. It's all petty, junior high, jealous bullshit.
Bottom line. No matter who or what she is, he loves her. And some of you just can't stand it. You protest and say, no that's not true. But it's right there in your 'veiled' comments. Over and over. You ain't foolin' no one.
Oh jesus. What am I doing? I guess I'm just as ridiculous with my strong feelings about this as some of you are with yours.
I just hate unkindness and I think so much of it is shown to this girl simply because this boy loves her. I think that's what all of this is. He loves her. So she's the target.

April & Nikola: it might change new actors slightly but even if they do start to withhold from the media, unless they have Rob's level of uber-stardom and appeal it might go unnoticed. Like I say you need tremendous integrity to want to withhold in this kind of industry - but maybe actors who are in it for the right reasons (like R&K, Tom Stu etc) will do this.
By the time I get home tonight Kate will have posted loads more photos and this blog will be on the older posts page. Kate slow down!
This thread might be closed,,, it seems to have gone on a long time and here I am just reading through it. Great comments, as always, insightful and oh so analytical. Girls really do love to look and look at an issue: we tear it apart, then sew it back together, we're like detectives... First, do they? Or don't they?
I'm with Nik and others here that the camera did capture a playful and relaxed Rob pushing Kristen's buttons for a reaction. They were having fun, in high spirits, happy and it shows. Neither are strangers to a camera lens, they were in the middle of a photo shoot... he knew there was a camera pointed at them it's no accident that they had this photo taken. This isn't a portrait they are sitting for here... there were dozens of photos taken, no doubt. And, yes, it's still so fresh and un-posed.
And, when all the guessing is over how can we doubt that there is something between them? It's obvious: they travel together, hear and play music together, eat together, talk together, play together, rehearse and work together, laugh together. Hell, they are probably staying together at this very minute... Just consider, if she traveled to Hungary for her birthday or London for New Years, and they've both crossed the planet to spend time together, I'd bet she or he, would travel across town to be together.
How far can that that speculation go? Dating is much too small a word for the relationship they have. Dating is when someone takes you to dinner, or a show and then you see them again, maybe, sometime later, not daily, and on so many levels. Robert said himself they were partners, and that he couldn't ask for a better one. They may not be giving the "specifics" that Krisen knew they would be asked about, but it's clear that something real is happening between them.
Yeah, we love a happy ending, it's so rare.

I bet if Rob and Kristen read what has been written here involving their picture, they would laugh their asses off. Seems like lots of "cat" fights. I just enjoyed the picture.
Nik, love your comments. And if you're a real fan of Rob's you'll stop the endless criticizing of his girl Kristen. This is why I hate when people bring up Nikki Reed. It's just another excuse to bash Kristen. Even if Rob and Nikki had a tryst and Kristen broke up with MA to date Rob, how many of you wouldn't do the exact same thing. Okay, I'm off my soapbox now.

but no doubt through any post, i'm going to agree with you so much.
There will always be talk about Nikki Reed whether it's water under the bridge or not. People are always going to be fixated by anyone who may (dare I say it) have had sex with Rob. That's going to fascinate people and put images in their heads. They did hang out together so Nikki will come up again and again because she's overtly sexy and very little is known about Rob's real or rumoured Ex-es. I wish I was big enough to like NR - if it's ever proved beyond doubt that there was never anything between them I'm sure I'd suddenly love her!
