have anyone read about when summit first met rob,the thought he did not look good on screen, the director had too fight for him just read that okay so people do not go off the deep end on me just read it okay!
WOW! That shot of Bella tying to get his shirt off? All that chest hair exposed? WOW! That is one hot image of those two and man, do I have a weakness for that man's hair; on his head, on his face, his eyebrows, on his legs, on his chest and on those arms. I just think men with hair on them is SEXY and MASCULINE! Thank you Doris. You are an artist.
And yes evangaline... Summit was not sold on Rob's looks and that's because, he had just finished filming Little Ashes. His hair was dyed jet black, hanging straight and he wasn't in the best of shape. But...
Catharine knew he was the one. And Kristen knew it too. And so, they fought for him. Actually, it was the chemistry between the two that did it. And when you find that kind of chemistry between two actors...you pounce on it. And they did and thus...the phenomenon was born!
And I still say that's why so many women found Rob more beautiful in Twilight than they did in New Moon. And that's because he was being photographed by a woman as oppose to a man who wouldn't react to him in the way that a woman would. A woman who found him beautiful as Catharine has said, she does.
I personally think that they should have kept this franchise in the hands of women directors throughout. But...Summit is still after that male demographic which is why they're ratcheting up the action.
nik i am so impressed with your knowledge,is it the reason summit always shoving muscle taylor down our throats well summit need to give up now it who likes taylor and it have who loves rob the book have already and edward won bella's heart and i hope summit put in the before car and the after edward both bella because edward was pretty wealthy and jacob had a car called a rabbit i cannot stand jacob and summit
The second one...!! Don't need the lips on that delicious profile shot. I just got these photos--not the wallpapers--from the site we here get a lot of our photos from. There are at least 10 outtakes from the Slimane and, I think, the Shining shoot. Resolution not that great, but the photos are. Yummy.
Love them all! I need more computers!! I keep changing every couple of days.
I hate to point this out but there is a small OOPS, little typo in the third wallpaper. I know, why was I bothering to read the words when I can look at the pictures. Sorry!!
Oh. And his eyelashes. How could I forget those? And you're right Dina, it should be forbidden for a man to eyelashes that long. Hell, it should be illegal. Well. I've always said there ought to be a law where Rob's concerned. Which I would promptly run out and break. Slap the cuffs on me officer. Guilty as charged!
And evangaline... Whatever knowledge I have about the film industry is because, I grew up in it. And if any of you had grown up in it too, you'd know things that I know and maybe even more.
As for Jacob... Summit is simply following the story. When Meyer originally wrote this story, it was only two books; Twilight (where they meet, fall in love and figure out how they're going to make this work) AND Breaking Dawn (in which the decisions are made; marriage, turning her immortal and of course the surprise of the baby while Bella could still concieve). Even the names of the two books; Twilight and (Breaking) Dawn. They are bookends. But then...
Little Brown wanted her to expand the story and so she came up with Jacob, the wolfpack and the love triangle. And I don't have a problem with any of it because...
Having a rival for Edward, makes Bella's choice a STRONGER one. It makes their love story richer, deeper and more heartbreaking; Bella has to hurt her bestfriend, Jacob has to get his heart broken and for Edward, he has to face the fact that with Jacob, Bella could have the human life that he (Edward) wishes for her and in wanting him for himself, it is the most selfish thing he has done in his existence. Yup. It's a better love story with the triangle. And it also points out the vast differences between Edward and Jacob; one being a man and one being a boy. But even having to share the spotlight with Jacob, Edward still comes out on top.
As for Summit pushing Taylor and his sixpack on the audience...Yeah, they are and for some it has worked. There are now alot more Taylor Lautner fans out there than there were when this franchise exploded. And I'm one of them...as far as this role goes. I love him as Jacob and I was really upset that Summit was even thinking of replacing him in the role and I think he did one hell of a job in New Moon. He held his own in that film and that moment when he leaned in that car as Bella was leaving with Alice to go get Edward and he said...
"Bella, I'm begging."
That was heartbreaking. I feel for Jacob. Yeah, I wanna smack him upside the head sometimes because he can be a petulant, selfish brat, but Taylor makes me care for him. I prefer the screen Jacob to the book Jacob anyday. And someone pointed out around here, that for Jacob to try to take Bella away from Edward is the height of selfishness. And why?
Because he hasn't imprinted with her, meaning, they could get married and he could then meet his imprint and Bella would have been left high and dry just like what happened with Sam and Leah and Emily. This was a HUGE hole in the storytelling that someone should have pointed out to Bella. But no one thought of it. I didn't see it until someone pointed it out around here and I thought...wow, Meyer, you missed that one didn't you? And now that I do see it, it is a GLARING part of the story that got conviently overlooked.
But Jacob's role and Taylor's stardom are no threat to Edward position in the story or to Rob's stardom. Robert Pattinson and Edward Cullen are what is fueling this worldwide hysteria. Not Bella/Kristen. Not Jacob/Taylor.
Truth is, remove that six pack from Taylor Lautners' body and what have you got? Just another average, ordinary young actor. Rob is unique...in every way. I don't understand why people get their knickers in a knot over Taylor/Jacob.
He is no threat to Edward/Rob. NONE! And Rob doesn't need that sixpack to fuel his stardom either. He's got so much more on the table than Taylor does.
If it had been brought up that Jacob had yet to imprint, it would have changed the entire story. What could Jacob have said in his pursuit of Bella? How could he have justified it? He wouldn't have been able to. There would have been no triangle 'cause Jacob wouldn't have had a leg to stand on. And as I said, I think the triangle made the love story better. It was needed.
This imprinting was a bad idea from the get go and completely unneccesary to the story. It screws everything up. Without it...
* Jacob would have had justification in his pursuit of Bella and in trying to persuade her that he was the best choice. That she could have remained human with him and THAT would have a been a valid choice.
* Renesmee... Oh this is a bad idea. This whole thing was misinterpreted as pedophila and if they include it here, I think they're going to run into the same shitstorm that they did with the book.
The thing I hate about the imprinting is that it takes from the characters, their choices. They are bound by it. I don't like that at all. The better choice would have been for Jacob not to kill the baby because he loved her mother and he realized he just couldn't kill her baby. THAT would have been the decision of a MAN. But the decision to not kill her was made by the imprinting. Not Jacob's choice at all.
Oh I hope Rosenberg dropped it. But I don't think she did. The imprinting stopped the books in their tracks. All that treasure Meyer built up with the first three, got tossed out the window for alot of readers because of this ONE idea. Fortunately, the imprinting of Jacob with the baby comes until the last film of the franchise. So it can't hurt future films. But could it hurt tickets sales for the final film?
I don't know. We'll have to wait and see. But if reviewers start tossing the word 'pedophilia' around...oooh. Meyer may be forced to step out publicly defend that idea.
ok nik you have done it again although i still have no fancy for jacob, jealously and anger i never fancy and let me tell you about the six pack i had one of those i thought it was the best thing ever happened to me we use to go all over the world chick magnet that's what i call six pack he broke my heart after my friends and family thought i was on crack anyway rob is a breath of fresh air to me i can see taylor is not a treat to him the both have their own fans nik when is bel-ami screening in cannes i so want to know
I just reread what I wrote (I do that looking for errors when I should just proofread first before posting. yeah. yeah). But I said something wrong...
Of course it was known that Jacob hadn't imprinted yet. What they overlooked was the IMPACT of that with him pursuing a relationship with Bella. It just was never pointed out where a relationship with the two of them could end up if or when he found his imprint. That Bella could have very easily ended up like Leah.
That's what I meant.
Yes. Well. Thank you very much Miss Anal Retentive 2010.
And how could Meyer have so conviently overlooked this aspect of Jacob and Bella's potential love story when she pointed it out so strongly with Sam and Leah and Emily?
How did she miss this? How did I miss this when first reading it? 'Cause she's not a very good writer and I'm not as smart as I sometimes think I am.
Sorry. I get to thinking about something and I just have to twirl about it for awhile.
I'll go twirl somewhere else and leave you good people in peace.
Yes, Nik - I was so hoping Kathryn Bigelow would direct Breaking Dawn......but she's a big wig now so .........guess not........even though it would be a huge blockbuster it would appear to be a step down from Hurt Locker in the eyes of the Academy I would suppose.
Don't you think it was funny that the girls in the first house Rob visited on Oprah......didn't know what to say to him and they ADMITTED it????????? Come up with something girls, jeez. I guess being in shock from seeing him was more than they could bare.
I cant believe im posting for the first time. But Nik hit a spot with me...love ya. For a long time I have argued over the point of Jacob not imptrinting with Bella. So Ive always argued he is not the best choice..period. also there is a small conversation in the book between Edward and Jacob where they touch lightly on it, just wish I could remember where. lol Love this blog, love the ladies here, and I love Rob and Kris.
OMG - I was just at the grocery store and they had the RAG MAGS at the register..........OK Magazine cover has R/K on it with the caption......"Kristen's Pregnant".........What Rob confessed backstage to Oprah!
I'm not sure when the festival opens. I thought someone said May 12th? (and it does open in early May every year) And it usually runs for I don't know, a week to ten days?
And if so, it would be in full swing by now. And with WFE about to begin shooting, I cannot imagine Rob taking time off to go to Cannes.
As for when they're screening Bel Ami? I don't think it's a full screening. How can it be? They only wrapped the film a month ago. It's not edited or scored yet.
I think what they might be doing is bringing some footage to show backers in order to secure distribution rights.
What I'm excited about is not Cannes. It's the hope that this film will be released in December, even for just a limited run before it goes wide in 2011. Studios do this with prestigious films that they think have a chance to compete during the upcoming awards season.
I just wish they had chosen Ben Barnes for Jacob rather than Taylor........THEN it would have been a REAL rivalry. Ben's tall, gorgeous, hunky like Rob. IMO
Don't see what they saw in Taylor for the role. He's just too young too short too clean cut, not edgy enough, not rough enough, not believable enough. Again IMO.
Oh. Thank you Bev. Come back and post more often. It's fun.
And really? There's a point in the story where Edward and Jacob discuss this? Or even hint at it? I'm assuming in Eclipse. Okay then. Gotta go skim through that book again. Because if Meyer did bring it up, then I would owe her an apology. But if they did, how could Jacob possibly defend his pursuit of Bella? He wouldn't have a leg to stand on knowing that one day, he might have to abandon her. And not his choice. The damn impriting's choice. That's why I do not like this concept.
Oh femrock...
Do you have a little birdie in a birdcage? Or puppy you're housebreaking? If so, that would be the only reason to purchase these rags.
Anybody who watched that show, knew that Rob was bullshitting. What the rags are counting on, is the brain dead who continue to read and swallow the shit that they're peddling.
And apparently, we have a lot of brain dead shit eaters in the world. LOL! 'Cause people still buy and read this stuff.
Never underestimate the capacity for the public to be led down the primrose path. As P.T. Barnum once said...
@Dessert - yeah, I did not catch it right away either. It took the fourth or fifth lick, I mean, look (LOL, Freudian slip) before I even saw there were words. Oh, Rob, what you do to me! Please don't stop.
And more than a few of those suckers have found their way into the Twilight fandom.
I'm guessing mostly the younger crowd who have yet to learn when they're being duped. It's the adults who believe this shit that surprises me.
How can any half way intelligent adult believe tabloid journalism? But they do. And I'm guessing it's this same crowd that has kept the likes of Jerry Springer on the air for decades too.
Shut up Nik. You're snobbery is showing.
Sorry. Far be it from me to disparage anyone's tastes. But for chrissakes...
Shut it Nik. You're insulting people and what they like.
i am not commenting about rob in cannes i am interested in the screening of bel-ami i just wanted what the critics said of rob's acting their is volcanic ash again in europe so aiports are being closed
Took me awhile to sign in again lol Right Heart the pretty thanks its on page 502. He told Jacob hed be waiting in the wings should Bella choose him, because Jacob could leave her like sam did leah because the choice wouldnt be his. Gotta love that Edward. Nik live in Big Bear Lake...not too far from you.
I doubt that the critics at Cannes will get a look at this because it's not being entered in competition nor is it getting a screening for critics and that's because the film has not been put together yet. Like I said, I imagine they're taking a bit of footage to show to prospective financial backers.
There is the possibility that the film would be ready for the Venice Film Festival in July (I think) or the Toronto Film Festival in September. And if it's well received at either of those, then the good 'word of mouth' or 'buzz' begins. Or if it's lousy, the 'bad' word of mouth begins. If a studio is entering their films in the prestigious film festivals, it's because they're confident that they've got a winner on their hands.
And yeah, with the continued volcanic ash problem, it would be nuts for him to go back to Europe right now except for, god forbid, an emergency in his family.
And now I gotta go read page 502 of Eclipse. I gotta see what Jacob says to Edward about this. Obviously, whatever he said, only showed him to be the immature, selfish boy as oppose to Edward, the mature, selfless man.
I've often wondered how mature, grown women come to the decision that Jacob is the more desirable over Edward. One is a boy. One is a man. I don't get it. As for the 'women' who have gone apeshit for Taylor? In my opinion, it's a purely physical response. They're not in love with him or his talent. They're just drooling over the abs. How shallow. Like I said, remove those abs from Taylor Lautner and what are you left with? It's his sixpack that is fueling his stardom. How shallow indeed.
And Bev... I live in Long Beach. When I was a little girl, my Dad had a cabin up in Big Bear. I used to go there all the time. Small world.
Robert Pattinson who is one most admired man in Hollywood, says he is not a "hunk". Rob said that he can't live up to the hype surrounding him. He fears that all the ladies are only interested in his fame & celebrity image.
According to Showbiz Spy, Rob said: "I can never live up to the image that the media have created, I am not that 'hunk'."
Rob explained, "Besides that there is always the fear that women only want to date me because I'm famous, and with a little bad luck they will go straight to the gossip press afterward."
*********** Rob's pretty smart, he's getting a lot of good advice. No wonder he is sticking with Kristen........it's like life in a vacuum.
some movie with kristen ex is playing name black irish i only wanted to know about bel-ami but thank you nik so you live long beach you may be just love rob's cap lol!
Nik... know what you mean. Thats how I ended up here, love the mountains. also...there is an outstanding article in USA Today...lots of interesting news.
You know what is amazing about Rob? Well. One of the many things?...
So many young actors in his position would be out sleeping their way through the ranks of starlets and supermodles and wouldn't give a damn if they ran to the tabloids with it. They'd love it 'cause it would give them such a 'studly' reputation.
But Robert Pattinson values his privacy and dignity more than he does getting all the 'empty and loveless' tail in the world.
Sorry I went on and on there evangaline, but...you know me. **rolls her eyes**
And yeah. I only found out recently that cap he wears is from Long Beach State and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why he is wearing one of their caps. Someone suggested maybe he liked the LB 'cause it could also mean...'lucky bastard.'
True. It could. And in many ways...he is one. And in other ways...not so much.
That's the thing that gets me. How has he figured all of this out at such a young age?
He should be running around right now like a blithering idiot; hopping in and out of beds, trashing hotel rooms, being escorted off of planes for being too drunk and disorderly.
Geez Rob. Didn't Hollywood give you the "How To Be The New Kid In Town" handbook upon your arrival?
Hey Bev & Nik, I guess we are all neighbors in this part of the world. I'm in the San Gabriel Valley. Looks like So Cal will be busy with Rob sightings over the next couple of months. I will have to pay more attention to the cars on the freeway. You never know who might be riding right next to you. ;D
I agree with you both, his sincerity, maturity and humility only added to the package. That's why we can't help ourselves.
I know and I dont care what Oprah said the other day...the Pattinsons should be very proud of their boy...because youre a drinker and a smoker does not make you shameful...its only when you make yourself look bad while doing it...and Rob is a hard worker and well mannered when he needs to be. And hopefully a little naughty when he needs to be. LOL
He's not perfect. And thank god for that. It's that quirky, skewerd, off kiltered, off centered, self deprecating, goofball, foot in mouth charm of his that makes him so damn unique. It's honestly what I fell in love with. And his intelligence and soulfullness.
The beauty and talent? You betcha. But it's more than that. I've been around beauty and talent all of my life, but there's just no one else out there like him. He's a true original personality; flaws and attributes both.
And this is why women across the board have fallen so hard for him. Not little girls. WOMEN! And age be damned. It just doesn't matter.
right on the money ladies thats what makes him almost pertfect is his unusual ways about him. Its really strange the pull he has with his endearing personality. Who wants boring carbon hollywood. Thank god for interesting and adorkable.
We should find out just how many girls here are from Southern Cali and get together for a RobFest?
I have a friend who is a MASSIVE Hugh Jackman fan and she gets together with her 'Hugh' friends from time to time and they have a high ol' time. And from what I hear, Hugh does not attend. Well. Not in the physical sense (although I'm sure he's there in spirit. lol). Nope. Just them. Having a grand time.
Yanno. Summit is gonna take Breaking Dawn back to Comic Con next year (no Eclipse this year because of the timing of the release). It will be Twilight's farewell to the Con (and fanboys will be rejoicing from coast to coast 'cause they're gonna get their convention back).
Hmmmm....maybe we should be making some plans to go together? 'Cause that venue is a helluva lot safer than what Summit's got planned for this premiere AND you'd get more time in Rob's presence there than you would for a few minutes at a premiere. Something to think about. And I just thought this up as I was typing.
And not just Southern Cali fans. But really, a whole ROBsessed contingent...from all over. Honestly guys. Wait and spend your money on that. It would be a much more satisfying experience. Some of you could even get in that line and ask him a question yourself. Let's do this. Let's plan it. What do you think? As many as can make it, huh?
But if we do, then we gotta get on it. As soon as this year's Con is over, ya gotta book those hotel rooms. Yup. A year in advance.
Nik - Sounds like a plan. Count me in! I was reading your posts on another thread and I agree about the location. What a big difference from Westwood to Nokia. I can't imagine camping in that area especially if there is Laker whoopla going on. Remember last year's 'celebration'. Yikes!
YIKES!!! is right. I forgot all about that riot last year. Those fans go NUTS! and it gets violent.
Yeah. I still think this is a BAD IDEA!
Unless Summit provides security, facilties and accesible food. And with all of the coin in their coffers that this fandom has put there, they can do this for the fandom that is continuing to put more coin in their coffers.
Janna - Read that interview earlier, can't you just picture it, Rob laughing. I couldn't keep the smile off my face. I wish there was video to go with it.
i just saw the photo of 'LUCKY BASTARD' and i burst out laughing where are rob eyes looking while he has that smile on his face ladies giving me your opinions
betty white and me hmmm I know I could take her on put em up betty
but alas all id really like to do is sit and have a drink and shoot the breeze with him....that would be so fine. wouldnt it be fun to pick his brain? I bet I would laugh for days and maybe love him more.
For first time posting tonight Im really letting loose. LOL
The Pretty himself just said on national tv that he thought white haired, 88 year old Betty White was the sexiest woman in America. And he is not alone in that opinion. Craig Ferguson said if he wasn't married, he'd run off with Betty. And he wasn't kidding. And in the reverse...
When she was making a film with him, Diane Keaton admitted (a few years after the fact) to falling in love with Leoanrdo DiCaprio. The film was called Marvin's Room (wonderful film). At the time, she was nearing 50and he was about 20-21. And she was not kidding. She said if he had crooked his little finger at her, she would have run off with him. She fell hard.
Attraction does not recognize age. All of these stigmas are sociatal (sp?) taboos.
A woman is young and beautiful and sexy when she is true to HERSELF and her age doesn't matter a damn. And we've been sold a bill of goods from this youth obsessed pop culture. And America is starting to catch up to what Europe has known all along...a woman doesn't even begin to come into her true beauty and sexuality until she hits about 40 and that's because, it takes some time to get there. In our youth, it's all about the superficiality of our physical appearance. But that isn't real. It's temporary because it fades.
I could go on and on about this subject as I have written extensively about it.
Don't worry Bev. You're good and you're in the right place. Trust me.
I haven't read all of the comments, so I don't know if anyone said this already, so sorry if it's redundant. Jacob wouldn't have had to imprint on Bella, because not everyone imprints. In fact, they thought imprinting was a very rare thing. I can't remember if it was in NM or Eclipse where Jacob explains all this, but it's not something that HAS to happen. It's something that COULD happen.
Thanks and right as usual about betty and after pondering it some and seeing her on the football field...I bet she could take me out.
heart the pretty
I agree, it would be fascinating to hear Robs thoughts on many levels..especially without the filter of pr...I think he would rock our world on many subjects. There is just something about him that is so interesting and of course---scintilating...not sure of spelling but you get my drift.
The volcanic ash has closed Heathrow Airport. Nope. I don't think Rob is going to hop back across the pond any time soon. Maybe not until he finishes BD early next year...at the very least.
He may not even make it home for Christmas this year. If they're starting BD in October and with this being two films, this is gonna be a longer shoot that the other films and they'll hit the holidays right smack dab in the middle of filming. My guess is, they'll shut down production for 10 days or so and then get right back to filming after everyone's recovered from their New Year's Eve hangovers (bunch o' lushes)
His Mum and Dad and sisters might just have to come to him this year. Christmas in Vancouver. How beautiful.
Its true it doesnt have to happened and Jacob thought he wouldnt, but he was young and being a possibility its a bad risk for Bella. And in the end, even though it was odd, he did just thant...he imprinted.
nik i just got a new one rob trying to get some role name kill your friends please fine out i read it from a rpattzgirl is she the same one who visits here
Bev - Yep! He would rock our world. The only problem would be focusing on the words while staring at the face, hands, etc. Geez, I am so shallow! Bad me! I'm sure Betty has nothing on you. If we have to, we can double team her. Lmao
It seems like I remember that too, that not everyone would imprint and that it was rare and yet it seemed that more than a few of them did; Sam and Emily, Quill and the baby girl, Paul or Jared with Kim? And it just seemed like a matter of time before Jacob would because he was the true Alpha. Not Sam. And if imprinting was going to happen to any of them, it would be to Ephraim Black's heir.
And whether he ever did or not, there was always the chance that he could. And THAT was the issue. If IF he did and Bella had chosen him, what would have been her fate? Leah. She would have ended up another Leah. And yes, Edward would have stepped in, but it wouldn't have been the same because he would have always known that he was her second choice.
I don't think anyone is ever going to convince me that this idea of imprinting was a good storytelling tool. It weakened the characters. Took their choices away from them. And to have teenage boys imprinting on baby girls? What was she thinking?
I'll tell you what she was thinking...Jacob was her favorite character (she's admitted that) and she somehow had to find a way to keep him relevant in the story once Edward and Bella were married and she became a vampire. So...
He couldn't have Bella, so Meyer gave Jacob the next best thing...
Her baby daughter.
Her mistake was, Stephenie Meyer did not serve her entire story. She served her FAVORITE character. And that is the sign of an ameteur writer. And she was. Just getting started. Hopefully, she'll improve.
And I would love to ask her about this at Comic Con next year. Yanno. Camping out just might be worth it to get a chance to put this to her.
I have a question for Rob, but I can't ask it in public. NO! Not that question. Climb out of the guttahs please. No. I got another question for him. Something he said he's trying to adapt for the screen. I think I know what it is and I wanna know if I'm right. But I couldn't do it publicly because obviously, he doesn't want this out yet. If he did, he would have mentioned the book by name.
So true, she really messed up her story for the masses. I for one wasnt so turned off. Imprinting is odd in nature but it does happen in some species and her wolves were in some ways part animal. She did get carried away with the age part but I think in her naive way she thought it would be so powerful to have a man be everything for someone, for all stages of life, be it protector, friend, and lover if need be. Its an ideal concept that falls flat in real life. Especially in this era.
Nik, I don't think imprinting was a good idea either. If she had to put that in the story, then she should have thought of some loophole that wouldn't allow people to imprint on babies, because that's just gross. The whole "of course whoever I imprint on will want me because I'll be whatever they want" thing is incredibly stupid too, what if what she wants is someone who doesn't have your face?
Ok Nik - now my curiosity has been piqued. I know you won't tell but maybe you can answer this. . . adapt as an actor or possibly as producer/actor? This goes back to my 'what to ask Rob', where do you see yourself in 5 years? When is Comic Con? Should we start a countdown?
If it was up to me I would have ended the Twilight series after Bella got married and became a vampire but no Stephenie had to stick in the weird imprinting stuff. I just can't imagine how this imprinting stuff will be made into a movie.
I enjoyed breaking dawn but I agree it would have been better for the series to leave out the imprinting. It would be really hard to portray in movies with any kind of favorable light.
I wrote about this earlier. There is a way to eliminate the imprinting in Breaking Dawn and not disturb the story oneiota...
* Jacob decides not to kill the baby because he realizes that she isn't a monster. Just a beautiful little baby. And he realizes he just can't do it because he loved Bella and he just cannot kill the baby that he thinks she just died for. That is the choice of a MAN. A STRONGER choice because Jacob makes it himself. Not the imprinting.
* He goes to the wolfpack and tells them NO! We are not killing that baby. And this is where Jacob would assume his role as the true Alpha and Sam would have to kneel before him. This way, the pack does not divide.
* But they still have to deal with Irina's betrayal and the Volturi. The wolfpack still agrees to join forces with the vampires to help protect that baby. Not because they are bound because she is Jacob's imprint. But because she is an innocent child. Again. Stronger choices because they are there OWN! And Bella still makes the decision to send her daughter off with Jacob when it looks like the Volturi are going to destroy them all. Why? Because she loves and trusts him and she knows he will love and protect her child not because he HAS to because of imprinting, but because he loves Bella and he would do anything to protect her child. That is what a man would do. The imprinting keeps Jacob a boy. Without it, he grows to be a man.
* And the story ends on a bittersweet moment. Yes, Edward and Bella get their happily ever after. But Jacob does not. He still loves her, but he has accepted her choice and he realizes that her destiny was always Edward; to be as he is and to be with him. So Jacob leaves. Bella is still heartbroken because she's had to break his heart. Edward still carries some insecurities because of his wife's feelings for another man. It ends the story not with some kind of wrapped up fairy tale, but with some issues not yet resolved. Just like in real life. And...
If one day Summit wanted to pick up the story again, they bring Jacob back when Renesmee is a young woman. And THEN he imprints with her.
When Jacob comes down those stairs and looks at that baby and if they don't capture that moment JUST RIGHT, the audience is going to collapse with laughter. And it isn't a funny moment. This JUST THIS MOMENT could ruin the entire movie.
This idea did not come across well in print. How they're gonna adapt to the screen...I have no friggin' idea.
Look. I think I know what Meyer was trying to do her. She's mother for god's sake. She wasnt' writing about pedophilia. But I think to some degree, she's an innocent, unworldly Mormon girl and her idea was misinterpreted by a cynical modern world.
Note to Summit... Drop this sucker now. Even if you have to rewrite the script and postpone the shooting of the film. Better to take the time and get it right, rather than go with a premise that end all of this in controversary and worst of all...mockery.
No. No FF in my future. But if there are any FF writers lurking, and you like this idea? Take it and run with it.
I just think the imprinting WEAKENS the story. Weakens the characters involved with it because they're not making their own decisions. And if you're not making your own decisions, you are not growing. You're not growing up and you're not growing as a person.
Again. Just my opinion. And that don't make it right...
You bet, hon. If it wasnt for your wonderful big mouth I might have lurked for another year. Not sure if thats good or bad....but Im glad. How will I ever go back to just lurking? LOL
Nik - You know these threads go all over the place. It's about sharing opinions, some laughs (many giggles) and getting new insights. What we have in common is our love and appreciation for a certain man who just takes our breaths (and sanity) away. Speaking of which. . . time for dreams of Rob. *sigh* Have to go to work. . .you know that thing that funds the Robsession. Laters Ladies
Good night ladies, its been a blast. Im getting as wonky as Robs adorable feet. Tomorrows another day. So glad too there is this wonderful blog to come to and share all things and especially the pretty. Good night Rob....wish you and Kristen would come up to Big Bear sometime.
Hmmmm, I don't know. Nik, I think your idea has merit. I actually like it better and it makes it a much more interesting adult story. Here's my dumb mouth rambling-- Imprinting does happen with some animals. It can be carefully dealt with in BD. The teen and preteen girls will more than likely think this romantic. Most of them probably have no idea what mature (sexual) relationships are all about. How can they? They are too young. Summit is still under the mistaken idea that Rob's appeal and the appeal of Twilight in general is the teen/preteen audience. Plus Stephenie Meyer is listed as one of the producers so I do think they will stick with how it was written or close to it. It is a can of worms, but worms sometimes catch really big fish. We will have to wait and see what happens and hope that all goes well.
Oh I hope you see this tomorrow. You asked a question and I wasn't blowing you off, I just forgot about it. But first...
Comic Con 2011 is in July. Usually something like the 22nd to the 26th. And we wouldn't have to go for the whole convention, just for the Summit panel; the big enchilada of the whole thing. And you can buy a ticket for just that one day at a lesser cost, but I think it's easier to get tickets if you buy for the whole convention. Two years ago, it was $75.00 for the whole kit and kaboodle. I would imagine by next year, that price will have gone up a tad.
Those panels last last about 45 minutes. And a line does form so you can ask a question. And they've also got the autograph line. But it's a lottery. But still...if you get it, you get into the autograph session. And the odds are, at least one of us would.
I just think that Comic Con would be a better, safer way to go than a film premiere in which you'd have to sleep outside at night in one of the worst areas in the country AND...you'd see more of Rob at Comic Con than you would at that premiere.
Now to your question...
You asked about that book that Rob said he was adapting. I won't give up the title because I might be wrong and...I might be right. And if I am, I'm not going to say it publicly because Rob hasn't yet.
My guess is that this is something he would be looking to do as a producer and most definitely as an actor. Maybe he's even looking at this as the first for his own production company.
The book I'm thinking of was written many years ago and has pretty much been forgotten by people today. When it came out it was considered highly controversial and even subversive. And many attribute the ideas in it to helping to birth counter culture of the sixties. Believe me, this thing is right up Rob's alley which is why when he said it, I thought...'this is the one.' It is considered one of the most influential books of the 20th century. And yet, Hollywood has never seriously attempted to bring it to the screen.
It is one of the most amazing stories I have ever read. One of the most important stories I have ever read and Rob was born to play this character. Born to it. And maybe this will give you a clue...
I read this story years ago and the only actor I could ever imagine in the role, was Johnny Depp. But he's too old for it now. It wasn't until I saw Rob tell that Budda story, that I knew. I said...'that's him. He is THAT character.'
But even if anyone figures out what I'm talking about, please don't mention it here and if you do, I will ignore the comment.
If Rob wants to talk about this publicly, then I will talk about it. Actually, I will jump over the moon. I will do a nekkid feather dance down Hollywood Blvd. (like anyone would notice such a thing on Hollywood Blvd.)
Agreed Laurie. Whatever they've got is what they're going with and who knows? They just might pull it off. I sure hope so.
Oh and Bev... Big Bear would be perfect for them. Who would think to hunt for them up there? Actually, I was thinking Point Dune too. Up above Malibu on the coast about 45 minutes.
'Course that would give them one hell of a commute. But at least they could live in relative peace. Maybe keep an apt. in town when they need to be here and when they don't? Then they could get the hell outta Dodge.
Another great spot? The island of Coronado in San Diego. No one would look for them there. Hell. I can think of a dozen places they could live where it would be hard to track them down.
Catalina Island. 'Course, they'd hafta buy a boat. Or a helicopter.
NO.NO. No helicopter. Get a boat.
Nik? You're buying them boats now. Time to go to bed. Okay.

YUmmmmy !
Doris, thank you! Just awesome!!
Those eyelashes.OMG it should be forbidden for a guy to have so long lashes.
I love the B&E one. *sigh*
The third one is my YummyRob.
That was my "Good night picture story." Now I can go to bed.
Good night all together.
Thank you Doris.
have anyone read about when summit first met rob,the thought he did not look good on screen, the director had too fight for him just read that okay so people do not go off the deep end on me just read it okay!
yummy--thank you
Cute! :DDDD
oh hello nik
nik i am so impressed with your knowledge,is it the reason summit always shoving muscle taylor down our throats well summit need to give up now it who likes taylor and it have who loves rob the book have already and edward won bella's heart and i hope summit put in the before car and the after edward both bella because edward was pretty wealthy and jacob had a car called a rabbit i cannot stand jacob and summit
WOW the last one says it all -
PERFECT!
Gaaahhhhh! The first one, um.....yeah.....uhhhhhh.....*died*

The second one...!! Don't need the lips on that delicious profile shot.
I just got these photos--not the wallpapers--from the site we here get a lot of our photos from. There are at least 10 outtakes from the Slimane and, I think, the Shining shoot. Resolution not that great, but the photos are.
Yummy.
Can you see his halo?
Love them all! I need more computers!! I keep changing every couple of days.
I hate to point this out but there is a small OOPS, little typo in the third wallpaper. I know, why was I bothering to read the words when I can look at the pictures. Sorry!!
Keep them coming!
Beautiful wallpapers, Doris!!! Congratulations!
I love the three first ones, very cute, and the last one is graceful.
HeartThePretty,
OMG your right,I never noticed - too distracted by Rob!
so airports around the uk closes again i am happy rob is in the US that volcanic ash again
SO MUCH!
Just my opinion.
@nikola6, well said. In fact, i haven't seen any young actor who is a threat to Rob's career. He just has too much as you said.
You know, the more I think about it...
* Renesmee...
As it is one HOT BUTTON issue today.
Thanks Cheer...
I just think it's so obvious.
And sorry for derailing the thread.
I'll shut up now.
Where can I find the pics in the first 3 wallpapers - I can't believe I've never seen those before........what photoshoot are they from??
.
.
ok nik you have done it again although i still have no fancy for jacob, jealously and anger i never fancy and let me tell you about the six pack i had one of those i thought it was the best thing ever happened to me we use to go all over the world chick magnet that's what i call six pack he broke my heart after my friends and family thought i was on crack anyway rob is a breath of fresh air to me i can see taylor is not a treat to him the both have their own fans nik when is bel-ami screening in cannes i so want to know
I just reread what I wrote (I do that looking for errors when I should just proofread first before posting. yeah.
So Ive always argued he is not the best choice..period.
also there is a small conversation in the book between Edward and Jacob where they touch lightly on it, just wish I could remember where. lol
Love this blog, love the ladies here, and I love Rob and Kris.
OMG - I was just at the grocery store and they had the RAG MAGS at the register..........OK Magazine cover has R/K on it with the caption......"Kristen's Pregnant".........What Rob confessed backstage to Oprah!
Jesus help me........WHY do they do that?
I did NOT BUY AND WILL NOT BUY that CRAP.
@evangaline...
That's what I got my fingers crossed for.
Again IMO.
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm4090136832/nm1602660
ben barnes
"There's a sucker born every minute."
How can any half way intelligent adult
believe tabloid journalism? But they do. And I'm guessing it's this same crowd that has kept the likes of Jerry Springer on the air for decades too.
Shut up Nik. You're snobbery is showing.
Sorry. Far be it from me to disparage anyone's tastes. But for chrissakes...
Shut it Nik. You're insulting people and what they like.
Sorry again.
Bev - there discussion between Edward and Jacob is in the tent scene.
Nik - love your insights. Yes, I am hoping for BA in December.
i am not commenting about rob in cannes i am interested in the screening of bel-ami i just wanted what the critics said of rob's acting their is volcanic ash again in europe so aiports are being closed
Took me awhile to sign in again lol
Right Heart the pretty
thanks its on page 502. He told Jacob hed be waiting in the wings should Bella choose him, because Jacob could leave her like sam did leah because the choice wouldnt be his.
Gotta love that Edward.
Nik live in Big Bear Lake...not too far from you.
evangaline...
***********
Rob's pretty smart, he's getting a lot of good advice.
And THAT ladies and gents...
Is a REAL MAN!!!
A decent one.
So true, Nik.
He is one fine fine man.
I think for his age he is one in a million. Not perfect..but damn close.
Cant wait to see WFE!
And one more comment about the way in which Rob is conducting his life...
John Mayer.
Hell. That pig runs to the gossip press and twaddle himself to boast about his conquests. And in 'such' detail. PIG INDEED!!!
Yup girls. We picked the 'best one' to fall in love with.
Yeah Bev...
That's the thing that gets me. How has he figured all of this out at such a young age?
He should be running around right now like a blithering idiot; hopping in and out of beds, trashing hotel rooms,
being escorted off of planes for being too drunk and disorderly.
Geez Rob. Didn't Hollywood give you the "How To Be The New Kid In Town"
handbook upon your arrival?
FIRST - yummy on the pics, as always... talented group of ladies in PhotoShop! Thanks Doris!
Nicola6 thanks for the great dialog!
Hey Bev & Nik,
I guess we are all neighbors in this part of the world.
LOL
No Bev...
It just doesn't matter.
heart the pretty
yeah youre not too far away. Wouldnt that be something to see on the freeway. New at 11!
Here! Here! You said it Nik. Let's hear it for the 'Women'!!
Bev - I just hope I'm not in the news for a car chase on the freeway. LOL
right on the money ladies
thats what makes him almost pertfect is his unusual ways about him. Its really strange the pull he has with his endearing personality. Who wants boring carbon hollywood. Thank god for interesting and adorkable.
heart the pretty
I hear ya, but it would be tempting wouldnt it.
But officer it was Rob....
Whadda ya guys think?
Bev - I would definitely have to plead temporary insanity.
Nik - Sounds like a plan. Count me in! I was reading your posts on another thread and I agree about the location. What a big difference from Westwood to Nokia. I can't imagine camping in that area especially if there is Laker whoopla going on. Remember last year's 'celebration'. Yikes!
heart the pretty
it would in my case, i look like a red headed grandma LOL
Nik
sounds good.. better than crazy LA
do they let grandmas in...although Im not old enough to be Robs grandma.... i think
found this on twitter-new interview with the trio
http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/news/2010-05-17-twilightstars17_CV_N.htm
Bev - When it comes to Rob, there is no age limit, remember he thought Betty White was sexy, so we're all good.
HeartThePretty...
YIKES!!!
They better!!!
janna
that is a really good interview
she said Kris had her hand on Ros thigh for part of the time
cant blame the girl sigh
Janna - Read that interview earlier, can't you just picture it, Rob laughing. I couldn't keep the smile off my face. I wish there was video to go with it.
I'm still giggling and I read it an hour ago, LOL
I meant Rob...got too excited thinking about it lol

wouldnt it be fun to pick his brain? I bet I would laugh for days and maybe love him more.
For first time posting tonight Im really letting loose. LOL
No Bev...
No age limit. Like HeartThePretty said...
Trust me.
Bev - I agree. I would love to ask him where he sees himself in 5 years? I can just imagine there would be an array of answers.
You're doing a great job in your first postings Bev. You've jumped right in and that's how it's done.
Keep going.

Nik
Thanks and right as usual about betty and after pondering it some and seeing her on the football field...I bet she could take me out.
heart the pretty
I agree, it would be fascinating to hear Robs thoughts on many levels..especially without the filter of pr...I think he would rock our world on many subjects. There is just something about him that is so interesting and of course---scintilating...not sure of spelling but you get my drift.
Just flipped the news on and once again...
Just a guess.
Marna
Lmao
heart the pretty
youre on hon, we will take her on and push her to the wayside so we can talk to the pretty..and nudge one another if we forget to converse.
Marna...
Just my opinion.
Allright then. Back in the guttahs.
evangaline...
What? Rob is trying to snag the role in Kill Your Friends? Isn't that a book? RPG? You know something about this?
Shit Rob. Would you stop playing characters from books? Just for one damn role? I got my own books to read.
Nik
That's how I'd do it. But I ain't doin' it.
Nik - nicely done. Is FF in your future?
Oh. This idea is a bullseye on their foreheads.
Thanks HeartThePretty...
(although I am right)
WOW! Look at this thread. Have we ever had a wallpaper thread go to nearly 100 comments? How does this happen?
Well. Big loud mouths with big opinons won't shut their damn mouths.
(and yes, I am referring to myself)
**giggles**
(oh please tell me you're giggling with me. please)
Nik
You bet, hon. If it wasnt for your wonderful big mouth I might have lurked for another year. Not sure if thats good or bad....but Im glad. How will I ever go back to just lurking? LOL
Oh. Well then. I'm so glad Bev that my big mouth brought you out of lurking. Well I'm just a ray of sunshine, ain't I? LOL!
I'm bringing the lurkers out.
I'm teaching English.
But mostly, I'm just driving people friggin' nuts.
I know it.
And I'm sorry.
But aparently, not sorry enough to shut the hell up. LOL!
Well. Were I think this amount of comments is a record for a wallpaper thread.
So...what? We get a cake or something?
It's getting late and I'm getting silly.
So glad you're here Bev. Don't run off. Come back. Okay?
Okay.
Nik - You know these threads go all over the place. It's about sharing opinions, some laughs (many giggles) and getting new insights. What we have in common is our love and appreciation for a certain man who just takes our breaths (and sanity) away. Speaking of which. . . time for dreams of Rob. *sigh*
Have to go to work. . .you know that thing that funds the Robsession.
HeartThePretty...
Oh I hope you see this tomorrow. You asked a question and I wasn't blowing you off, I just forgot about it. But first...
Comic Con 2011 is in July. Usually something like the 22nd to the
26th.
(they wouldn't)
Agreed Laurie. Whatever they've got is what they're going with and who knows? They just might pull it off. I sure hope so.
Oh and Bev...
Big Bear would be perfect for them. Who would think to hunt for them up there? Actually, I was thinking Point Dune too. Up above Malibu on the coast about 45 minutes.
Anywhere but in town. Anywhere.
Okay.
Nite nite.
Hey...
They could live on a houseboat.
Or in a lighthouse!
Those things are bitchin'.
And if the papps came after them?
They could just fire off a couple of torpedos and sink 'em. And they'd be out on the water and who would know?
Yanno? I think I'm onto something here.
Yeah. You're on something alright.
Bed. Now.
Right.
Bed.
Now.
Nite.
Have u ladise seen his new do.
Its very intresting. And I do mean that in the best way.
