A Summit Entertainment spokesperson has confirmed to HitFix that "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" will open nationwide on Nov. 18, 2011.
It's still officially unknown if "Dawn" will be broken up into one or, as rumored, two films. Stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are all expected to return.
Directed by Oscar-winner Bill Condon, the fourth book in Stephenie Meyer's popular series chronicles Bella's most advanced initiation into the vampire world to date, but is also seen by many as the most difficult to adapt of all the best-selling novels. Melissa Rosenberg, who adapted the first two novels, would continue in that role for "Dawn."
"Breaking Dawn" will face off against "Happy Feet 2" and the Hugh Jackman Sci-Fi thriller "Real Steel." Even with the lucrative Thanksgiving weekend the following week, expect at least one of these films to move their release date to avoid going head-to-head with the "Twilight" franchise.
The third movie in the series, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," will debut in theaters on June 30 nationwide and in IMAX.

Save the date, Twi-hards: November 18th, 2011. the studio still has no official word on whether it's be 2 films or one -- but Deadline sources still say it'll be 2 pics and Bill Condon will likely direct both.

Angie, I agree. Not sure I can stand it. Maybe all of Rob's other movies will be released during that time to keep us distracted. ☺
2 FILMS!!!! do a poll summit. cripes. Extended the honeymoon and wedding. This is what the die hard fans have been WAITING for. Since that reunion scene in New Moon (with the dialogue hacked up) left me limp and wanting..I hope they dont screw us over on this alone.
For some who feel that bad for ROb being in Breaking Dawn -he didnt have to do it. He's a big boy-he's getting paid well for it. He signed on for the whole enchilada :) thanks ROb!!!

I hope they dont do two movies. I know the books are really long in general, and Breaking Dawn is the longest book...but honestly there isnt a lot happening in it :-/ I mean yes, there are key points in the book - but they were (IMHO) severely fleshed out in the book and do not warrant a second film.
But keep the Isle Esme in all its pg-13 glory lol ;)

In a way, I wish Eclipse wasn't coming out in June & that they were waiting 6 more months. The wait for Breaking Dawn is really long, they should even out the time more.

I wonder if Summit worries that the screamy teeny readers are already outgrowing/getting bored wth the saga and the movies and getting into other books, an dso they want to push out the films as fast as they can n order to cash in on that market before it fizzles?
As for Rob and teh saga, I think he appreciates the oppourtunities it has given him, even with the inconveniences and occasional terror. Rather than himself anxous for it to be done with, I think it is more the fans who want him done with Twilight saga already, to see him take on other roles, and especially fans who want more of his body (at least on film) than the saga will show. Rob has sadi repeatedly he isn't in a rush for the saga to be over, and that he doesn't feel confined by the role of Edward (he is dong other films, thank you very much), but it is also possible he has to say taht whilst still under contract, and that when he is done, he may say he hated it and couldn't wait for it to be over. But even if he feels that, i don't know if he would actually say that. I think he is so much more respectful and thoughtful than others are toward himself.

Maybe I can not make myself clear enough before, but I feel misunderstood a little.
This affects me, because I do not appear here as a fan eager for more body, more meat,which the saga does not guarantee . It's not my style at all.
I do not think that the role of Edward did not bring any benefit to him, on the contrary opened the door to new opportunities and play a character does not limit it in some way, what is more, Rob has the opportunity to show the complexity of his nature and it does it well. Yes, Rob is a big boy and knows what he is doing so willingly agrees to a lack of proper rest for effective work. He went for a compromise, taking other roles, during contrack time. We see new characters that he brings to life that we love and cherish: Tyler, Georges, Jacob. But we also see how he handles himself exhausted, living from one shooting plan and another.
That does not look like his career, it is not healthy, the more that everyone depends on his luck according to the rule: when Rob is happy, and I'm happy.
I'm not sure that happiness is most important here.
Since you left us to feed the images, hopefully we do not live in the mirage and that smile is not a grimace.

jesse--I don't have the fangirl behaviour myself, and as we've dscussed before, I have no desire to bother Rob even for a photograph or autograph, and I detest screaming and loathe and fear crowds. But I would like to see the movie for my birthday!
