Robert Pattinson On "The Sunday Times" Rich List
Twilight film star Robert Pattinson, 23, worth £13m, is the top new entry in the list of young millionaires aged 30 and under, ranking 14th. He joins Harry Potter film star Daniel Ratcliffe, 20, now worth £42m and ranked 5th in the young list, ahead of Kiera Chaplin, 27, and Keira Knightley, 25, each worth £28m and ranked equal 7th; Emma Watson, 20, worth £22m at 10th equal; and Rupert Grint, 21, worth £20m and ranked 12th.
The list was published as part of a special 104-page supplement in The Sunday Times. Here is what the paper had to say about Rob, as the article compared him to his also very rich Harry Potter co-stars:
All of them, however, may well be overtaken before long by a newcomer to the Rich List who is widely regarded as the coolest male lead to have emerged in the past few years.
Robert Pattinson, star of the Twilight vampire movies, has shot into the list as the 14th richest person under 30 with a fortune of £13m.
It is an amazing turnaround. Only a few years ago, Pattinson, who had a supporting role in the 2005 film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, considered giving up acting altogether. According to an interview last month, he spent a year trying to break into the music business and “getting drunk”.
Then he landed the role of Edward Cullen, hero of the 2008 film Twilight. The second instalment of the saga came out last year and the third is due this summer.
Along with his ruffled hair and sculpted features, stardom and millions have made Pattinson the heart-throb of countless young, and not so young, women. He seems destined for even bigger things.
Yet he appears, so far, unconcerned by material possessions. He lives in hotels or stays with his parents while in London, drives an old BMW and dresses down.
This month he admitted considering buying a house in Hollywood, saying: “I’ve been forced to stay in a hotel for the last three years. I almost gave in and bought a house in Hollywood.” Then he added: “But luckily I realised how insanely expensive that is, and I don’t even know if I’ll still be working next year.”
He remains self-deprecating, observing: “Last year, if I went out, I’d have to fight to chat someone up. This year, I look exactly the same, which is really scruffy, and yet lots of people seem to have just changed their minds and decided I’m really sexy.”

I think Rob's made it into an art form to look like any other normal guy out there clothing while without flaunting the fact he IS a rich guy at 23...he doesn't seem to flaunt this stuff, even if he had the time to do so! (which he currently does not lol, Rob's a busy guy working hard!).
It must be so bizarre for Rob and his family to be sitting around reading the Sunday papers and see articles like this. You would really have to pinch yourself.
Good job Rob is so grounded.
love the picture they used.
I don't care if he's rich or not, I'd love him either way. He wouldn't need any money to keep me happy :)
Fame and fortune hasn't gone to his head like some in Hollywood. Rob is a down to earth guy and we all love him for that. I doubt if any other man with millions would wear ripped jeans and a beanie...
FILTM!
Hello together.
Have me a little read through the other treads. Where is my RobsesseD straight out that I loved so much? It is a bit sad that the fun has been lost recently. I hope "he" and "her" all comes back again soon.
And to all who are new here or want to come to this. It is still the best fan site for Rob. Almost all here are sweet, and addictive real "Rob-girls".
And as always ..... I hope my English is correct.
and FILTM more and more.
Rob's incredibly good looks coupled with his amazingly unique personality make him irresistible. He's rich in every way and it's well deserved.
I know he appears to like to live simply, but I do wish he'd reward him self a bit (at least I hope he does) . The director of Remember Me said Rob is more generous to others than he is to himself. That can be a great quality, but sometimes its good to give to self. He seems smart enough not to go crazy.
I like how they say that he's the "COOLEST male lead"!! They sure got that RIGHT!!
Rob is the coolest...and the most gorgeous!
My future ex-husband right there~!
LMAO ;)
Personally, I don't think Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, or Rupert Grint flaunt their wealth either. Sorry, big Harry Potter fan here. Of course Rob is always numero uno in my eyes!
Morning & Afternoon,
I agree with almost everyone. He seems to only spend his money at pubs (LOL!), on guitars and probably on his family and friends. He seems to really have his feet planted firmly on the ground.
Words, what words? That pix is just mind-melding. Brain now mush. May stare some more. Oh, how I love that pix.
Yep, his adorable wonky feet are firmly planted on the ground. I think that's part of what makes him the "coolest" people out there...he's sinfully good looking, sings with a passionate, whiskey-tinged voice, can play the piano (which women love) and guitar (men admire this one) and is teaching himself the violin (!!!!!)...he wears clothes other men wear, he doesn't appear to care about his hair (head, facial & chest), he has the same friends since childhood, he goes to the same places he's always gone to, and hasn't pimped himself to companies for endorsements (RayBan, Coke, Pepsi, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, In-N-Out, Hot Pockets, and Converse must be singing hallelujah about all the free advertising), record deals, and such like many celebrities who immediately launch clothing lines, fragrances, bottled water. Rob's said time and again that he wouldn't feel right jumping on the back of the success of Twilight in order to start a music career.
Sorry, sorry, I know I'm preaching to the choir here, I'll get down off the soapbox:)
BTW, FILTM!
@fifty İTA
JLS, I agree--he really is quite special!
jls...Love the wonky feet planted firmly on the ground. And the rest also well said.
No, jmm...the Potter kids don't flaunt their wealth and all seem pretty grounded too, but they haven't had to contend with the fans and paps to the dizzying extent Rob has had to.
