The change in costume can help us better understand the life George chooses. He's on the outside looking in to a better life, until he realizes he can use women to get him there.
Does this sound familiar ladies? Rob's said he's an amoral character, a lot like Sandra Bullock's Jesse James,only Rob makes him a lot more attractive. I'm sorry the film glorifies this life; women are already such easy prey.

The location, the colors, the costumes and BelAmi. I love this movie. I can not wait. It's good that Rob is so tall. So we can see him behind the partition wall in the restaurant. He and his bodyguard always seen immediately.
Oh God. I think that the "Naughty Corner" is too small. We'd need a "Naughty Room "or "House". :P
Rob does a great job here of "underplaying" the scene. We can see that he decides right there that in order to get what he wants from life he must use whatever he has to get there; himself. Rob said in interviews that Uma uses sex as a weapon, but Georges uses sex and the promise of love, as the lure to draw rich women to him to get to their better life. And, really, how many people do this in real life?
Sorry for the postcript: Just saw that Rob is one of Time's most influential people of our time.... scary. You've got to watch your roles now, Rob! If you are exerting that much influence, people will be copying more than just your hair or your smoking. Your roles are already being mimicked all over the world. Choose your next roles with this in mind.

I agree with you. What we see here already looks quite excellent. Hopefully make the responsible the best of this classic novel. I have not to talk about ,that Rob is the best and he gives the best. Then the others have to give their best ,too.

Belladonna, Rob is nominated in the artists and entertainers category. There is also a category for leaders, scientists, etc. Right now the top five overall in all five categories are all entertainers: Lady Gaga, Conan O'Brien, Kim Yu Na (figure skater), Rain (Korean singer, I believe), and Rob Pattinson. I would love to see him top the list.

What you don´t see in the video is when he got into the car he waved to the fans first and when everybody started clapping, he started smiling at us in a way that made all our hearts melt!!
The shooting ended at about 5.10am, but there were still about 150 people there watching. He was really close to us and it was soooo great to see him!!!

Oh and everything we heard about the hungarian fans was true. As soon as they said "rolling" it was absolutely quiet, for each and every scene, and they were shooting a lot of scenes yesterday!

Jeez, please do not compare Georges Duroy with Sandra Bullock's ex! I is too insulting, really.
In the time Duroy lived, society's 'morals' had different goals and meanings as they do today.
Read the book. Do some research first. Don't bash Duroy, please ~ the guy is a reflexion of the time and place he lived. Not better, nor worse.
When you read the book, even if you do not imagine Rob as Duroy (which is difficult, I admit), you will sympatize with the character, and even feel sorry for him. He wanted things (and himself) to be difference, but society did not allow him.

If you think back. It is hard to believe that cursed many, than Rob was offered the role of Edward. So many were against it. And now. He is the absolute dream. Even for so many movie roles that are yet to come. Absolute dream.

You're absolutely right. The novel reflects the period. And if an actor is his role so authentic does, which already speaks for him. When Rob is to be a bastard, he does it. This is Rob. Rob loves to act a role. That is why he picks always the good and right roles for himself.
Capitu: Sorry to read you're upset. First, I think Rob's doing a great job with this role... but that's all it is, a fictional character based on a real historical time. My comment was only that the behavior of Georges is still reflected in today's times and people... that's what makes the story so timeless and also why it is made over and over as films, albeit with different endings. People still do prey on others to get what they want; that's not news to anyone living in this real world. There's no need to be insulting here, I've read the book, just like you have and I don't think we actually disagree on it either.

Rob does not always have to play the "good guy". He is an actor and he there's nothing wrong with playing a "bad guy" too. It's a role, not his real life. For example, Anthony Hopkins played one of the worst villains when he played Hannibal Lector. But Anthony got acclaim for it because he played the role well. And that's what's important here, that the role is played well, that's why it's called acting. And I have faith that Rob can pull of Georges and even show off Georges' vulnerability too.
Im laughing at the guy on the stairs-how the hell he isnt in the shot is beyond me...what do they do with the food at the end of the shoot?

I made a comment about how just being quiet would get Rob's attention. Never thought I would actually see it happen! And so soon. Some of the fans there have waited for hours and hours and still stay respectful and quiet during the filming, which I'm sure is the only reason we are getting all these wonderful pics and videos from the set. Congratulations and thank you to all our sisters there in Budapest :) Good things come to those who wait and act appropriately. Love the clapping at the end of the scenes.

@Cote de Texas No costars - he is outside a fancy restaurant. Inside you can see waiters carrying huge trays with food around and elegant people dining and drinking champagne.

i'll post an old post which i wrote 2 days ago again, cause i think no one read it... its already on page 3 i guess... maybe someone is still interessted... ;-)
I am from austria... i was driving to budapest with my sister and a friend. it took us 5-6 hours. thats ok, i think.
I heard that he is leaving on the 11th of april, but there are so many rumors about him, about locations, about everything... nothing is for sure. they changed theyr whole plan for the filming, because they wanna trick out the fans (sorry if my english sucks hehe)
when we saw him, it was... dont know... strange... unrealistic... i couldnt believe it, that rob is 10 meters away from me, drinking his coffee. just strange feeling. it would have been great to get closer or hear his voice louder... then it would have been more realistic. i just felt like in a dream because we were following him already 2 days and finally he was there - as pretty as i thought, as smart as i thought, the only thig i could think was: omg, omg, omg... haha
there where 300-400 fans... everyone was very quiet... someone came to tell us we shoult shut up and take pictures without flash. filming was allowed. the pictures i took are bad, but i have a 1h video from him *hehe* everyone behaved very well. you could feel how exciting everyone was, cause we were wainting for hours and hours, there were girls, they were awake for 36 hours!! CRAZY!! he didnt say hello, he was not waving, he was acting like there were no fans, just concentrating on his role! but it was just sooooo nice to watch him working and shooting!!! ahhh... i'm still in budapest with my feelings and with my brain *ahahahaha* first night at home sucked!!!!!
i heard from a friend today, that he came to say happy easter to the fans after shooting the whole night... that was saturday morning, he was working till 6 oclock, or something... but he was in a hurry, no photos with fans, no signatures... he has a very strickt timetable and he is not allowed to do anything but working... somebody said he is even not allowed to leave his hotel alone (the second fan photo you shop is from a photoshop, someone said)
his contract is very strikt, so... we'll see what happens in budapest the next 7 days...

We're so privileged to have Rob and the Crew here, it's been an unbelievable experience watching this movie getting made. Seeing Rob during the shoot, between the scenes and with crew members has made us respect and appreciate him as an actor and as a person so much more. Watching him so closely made me realize that although it's very hard not to react emotionally, fans HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT HE IS A PERSON. Screaming, being hysteric, hunting him down like an animal is NO WAY to treat a person. By being quiet and respectful, we've been allowed to be part of the movie making process, and let me tell you, it wouldn't have taken much for the crew to just remove us from there or hide the set from us. Although his contract doesn’t allow him any interaction with the fans, he always found ways to show his gratitude to the fans (like waving, saying “Thank you for being quiet” or “Good night” in Hungarian before getting in the car). I know that most Rob fans in the world are sensible and will understand this, I believe if fans all over the world unite in this matter, Rob’s life will be much less dramatic. RESPECTFUL FANS = HAPPY ROB, and isn't that what we all want :)
