FUNNY - kstew and tay talk about horror films.............some great horror clips and some famous stars - even showed Kris and Tay for a second........in NM.
Tarantino is so weird. He has not won anything personally but that Chris guy has won several times for best supporting actor.....and he always gives credit to Quentin.
@femroc-Quentin is a visionary! He puts his own stamp on his films for sure. Love IB's. Christophe def deserved that Oscar-he was unbeeffinglievable in that movie.
oh my god - Sandra on Craig was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I nearly peed myself from laughing.
@wens - you bring up a good point. I love Kill Bill I, II and that is exceptionally bloody. How do I draw a difference between those movies and a traditional slasher movie. I think it's the blood, gore AND the scary is what turns me off it. When I move TRIES to be scary by slashing is what I find scares me. Kill Bill is just bloody and I expect it to be. I dunno. Does that make any sense?
That was cool to see James Taylor sing that Beatles song for the tributes of those who've past this year. Can't believe Patrick Swayze and Michael Jackson are gone.
This Oscars has def been interesting.......Kristin looked fab by the way. Much better than at Baftas. Love the dress! Tay looked handsome too, I must say. ;)
You guys might really like it! I know that a lot of people did...I just wasn't one of them. I will say that the special effects were very impressive, although that's part of what made me quit watching! LOL it was too real.
A friend of mine at work often share similar tastes in film. He saw District 9 and I asked him about it. He definitely said that I should see it. So I'm just waiting for it to show up in my Blockbuster queue.
I've seen him in so many movies-Tron, Starman, Tucker a Man and His Dream, Fabulous Baker Boys, Arlington Road, and Blown Away......just to name a few.
Well ladies.....I must say good night. It has been so much fun having you along for the ride while watching this year. Thanks! You made it much more interesting, and I'm so glad Christophe, Jeff, and Sandra won! Good for Kathryn and hurt Locker too. Great night!
i've been reading WA, listening to you guys and watching a little tv--i'm at the part were they are working on the touching in the meadow--gawd--i'm exhausted--LOL
Late to the site, Oscar talk and I was watching. Loved Avatar, but watched Hurt Locker (on Demand) yesterday and glad I did! A great, riveting film and that Kathryn won for director and it won over Avatar for Best Film is amazing. I cannot argue with the choice. Kristen looked lovely & appropriate, but maybe a little bling, if only with some earrings would have been nice.

Star Trek won for best Make up.
Precious won for best screenplay.
thanks, martini--keep them coming--did find out my youngest likes to watch this, but she had to go to bed :(
Best Supporting Actress goes to Mo'Nique
RL took over for a while, but I'm back! and just turned on the Oscars-I missed the Brat pack, dammit. :(
Art Direction goes to Avatar.
Whaddadoo RPL!
LOL, Whaddaddo again, Martini! WTF is on SJP boobs?
Costume Design goes to The Young Victoria
I KNOW! What the hell is up with that??? That is the weirdest dress I've seen...
rpl--LOL--saw it on the red carpet looked like a (boob) crown--she ususally does better
wens, LMAO "boob crown"! I love that description. ;)
Taylor & Kstew coming up!
her dress was beautiful-- does she look comfortable or nervous? i'll have to youtube it
Yay Kristen and Taylor. :o)
tay tay!!
wow, Kristen really looks gorgeous tonight.
Yeah, her dress is beautiful. I thought she seemed maybe a little nervous.
NEW MOON
FUNNY - kstew and tay talk about horror films.............some great horror clips and some famous stars - even showed Kris and Tay for a second........in NM.
omg I HATE slasher flicks...
How come the Blair Thumb Project or Frankenthumb weren't included? hahahahahahahaha
Zac Efron and Anna Kendrick presenting together.....cute.
@rpl - I hate slasher flicks too.
Sound Editing goes to The Hurt Locker.
ok, NM is NOT horror...so weird that it was included in that mash up!
Martini, I'm a total wuss! LOL never seen Nightmare on Elm St. or any Jason flicks or any of that.
Sound Mixing goes to The Hurt Locker.
I made the mistake of seeing the first Jason movie. NEVER AGAIN!!!
Kristen looked very nervous, coughing and stumbling on her words.
Anna Kendrick is spot on and very professional and prepared rattling off all these names.
Hurt Locker - wins some more - I wish Kathryn Bigelow would direct Breaking Dawn - talk about a woman with balls.......she's awesome.
@RP-I heartily agree!
Hi RP! Hi CMG! ((waves))
Hi, CG! {waves}
Hey RP! Whaddadoo!
Hi CG!!
So what's up gals?!? The Oscars are pretty tight, huh?
Inglorious Bastards ROCKS!
Tarantino is so weird. He has not won anything personally but that Chris guy has won several times for best supporting actor.....and he always gives credit to Quentin.
Howdy ChocoMartini.....;)
I'm so glad Christophe Waltz won! He's amazing in that movie. So delciously EVIL!
I haven't seen IG yet, but I usually like Tarantino's movies. Is it just as bloody as I think it will be?
Tarantino is definitely a unique guy. His movies are always such that they don't all fall into any category. They are unique.
@femroc-Quentin is a visionary! He puts his own stamp on his films for sure. Love IB's. Christophe def deserved that Oscar-he was unbeeffinglievable in that movie.
I <3 Sandra Bullock! seems like a funny chick. :)
@RP-In parts. Brad Pitt and the IB's are Nazi hunters, and scalp their vicitms.
Eli Roth (Hostel guy-Quentin's friend) is Jew Bear, and his weapon of choice is a baseball bat-I'll let you guess what he does with it! :P
Martini, did you catch her on Craig not that long ago? such a hilarious interview!
@rpl and martini--so you can watch pulp fiction but not slasher flicks? LOL i'm not big into slasher flicks but pf was pretty gross--
but i agree he is a visionary
It just cracks me up to think of Ryan the temp in IB. hahahahahahaha
@RP-I <3 Sandra too. Great actress! She was amazing inBlind Side-so awesome. Hope she wins. Not a Precious fan. (Don't throw things!) LOL.
CG, swings it around before he just decides to let the bad guy go? HAHAHA I can imagine what he does with it... :P
I'd still like to see it, though. Kill Bill 1 & 2 are a couple of awesome movies.
i <3 s bullock too--she is so funny and seems genuine
@CMG-LOL! I agree.
Awwwwww.....the In Memoriam part.........so sad.
oh my god - Sandra on Craig was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
@RP-LOL! Yep. Elis HOT! Kill Bills were awesome.
Awwwww....Patrick Swayze........Natasha Richardson....Roy Scheider......:(
was Swayze in the memoriam? or did I miss him?
@CMG-Makes sense to me. With QT movies, he makes the violence somehow plausible and watchable....not good prob, LOL, but he does.
Yeah, Swayze was there. Near the beginning actually.
@martini--yes--so it's more the scary--do you like spooky mysteries?
Martini-that makes TOTAL sense to me! Exactly the way I feel about movies, too. :)
@RP-Yeah BB-he was first. :( RIP Patrick.....
That was cool to see James Taylor sing that Beatles song for the tributes of those who've past this year.
Can't believe Patrick Swayze and Michael Jackson are gone.
I was hoping this avi would show up better - rats!
@wens-Yeah, I like a good scary plot or psychological thriller, doesn't have to be real gory-in fact what you don't see is often more frightening.
CG, yeah, I missed him.
Was Farrah on there? Tweeting with RPG and she asked, I don't remember seeing her.
@femroc-I know! So sad. Especially Patrick....he fought so hard.
@RP-Don't think they had Farrah. They should have!
These dancers are pretty good! Loved Sherlock.....Jude and Robert Downey.....woo hoo! ;)
@femroc-I loved JT's Beatles tribute and memoriam as well. Lovely song, a classic.
CG, I LOVED Sherlock Holmes! ITA, woohoo to JL and RDJ! Downing boxing was HOT.
*Downey
Check it out guys-Alexandre Desplat from Mr. Fox! AD did Meadow theme from NM! Maybe he'll win.
@RP-I know, right?!? His boxing part and getting all sweaty....GAH! LOL. ;)
These dancers really are amazing! Avatar/James Horner will win.
I haven't seen so many of these movies yet...haven't even seen Avatar!
Music (Original Score) goes to Up.
(I loved that movie so much)
WOW! I thought Avatar score by James Horner would win for sure.
Yeah, spooky, suspenseful stuff I love.
let's see if this avi looks better
the Up guy gave a really good speech!
@RP-I know. I have only seen Up in the Air! LOL. Didn't see Avatar, or Hurt Locker, and don't care to see Precious. (got HL on Blockbuster by mail) ;)
Gerard Butler and Bradley Cooper......grrrrrrrrowwwwrrr. ;)
Visual Effects goes to Avatar.
UGH, I watched 1/2 hour of District 9 before I had to leave the room...that was enough for me!
Oh btw - Sherlock Holmes was AMAZING! Love RGJ.
George!!
@RP-District 9 wasn't good?
@CMG-Me too! ;)
George Clooney is freakin HOT! Up in the Air was so good.
Uh, that is Robert Downey Jr. Not, Gowney Jr... gaaaaaaah....
Not sure I can stay awake for the whole thing.......work tomorrow.
Anna Kendrick did a great job - too bad she didn't win but the wrath of Monique shoudn't be experienced more than once.
Gerard Butler is HOTTTTT! LOL. ;)
@CMG-LOL!
@femroc-I heard that. I'm so sick of damn Precious! (don't throw things)
This Oscars has def been interesting.......Kristin looked fab by the way. Much better than at Baftas. Love the dress! Tay looked handsome too, I must say. ;)
CG, well I HATED it. It was gross and disturbing and depressing and I only watched the first part of it. Not everyone feels that way, though!
I wonder what shoes she had?!? LOL. Kristin always wears cool shoes. ;)
@RP-D9?!? Was it really?
D9 does look pretty intense. precious does too! LOL. Yikes.
@CG - Kristen does always have awesome shoes.
I haven't seen District 9, but I want to. It's one of those weird sci fi flicks that intrigues me.
CG, yep, at least I thought so! I take it you haven't seen it?
I am so sick of Tyler Perry.
I love dolphins! I am so glad that doc won.
Film Editing goes to The Hurt Locker.
Keanu - Duuuuuuuuude.
@CMG-I do too! It looks cool, and I love sci-fi. RP says it's depressing and gross though, so......;)
@RP-Nope. Not yet.
Hurt Locker-looks great, so relevant, so intense.
i<3 Keanu--he's sorta beautiful
You guys might really like it! I know that a lot of people did...I just wasn't one of them. I will say that the special effects were very impressive, although that's part of what made me quit watching! LOL it was too real.
@RP-I kind of am too-sick of TP. LOL! He is a bit annoying. His movies and shows are funny. ;)
@CMG-Kris does rock them shoes. LOL! Oh, and duuuuuuude back. ;) Love Keanu. <3
@wens-LOL! He is....;)
@RP-LOL! I hear you. They canmake stuff VERY real now.
Quentin! He's so cool.
I think it would be awesome if Quentin won best director, but he wont. ;P
A friend of mine at work often share similar tastes in film. He saw District 9 and I asked him about it. He definitely said that I should see it. So I'm just waiting for it to show up in my Blockbuster queue.
Foreign films leave me cold.
CG, ITA.
I'd like to see Kathryn Bigelow win, but I'm kinda thinking it's going to end up being Cameron.
@CMG-Me too! I just have to see Up in the Air, and Hurt Locker first. ;)
Martini, you'll have to tell me what you thought of it! :)
@RP-LOL! It's true.
@CMG-Kathryn should prob win. Cameron will win though, most likely.
Avatar will prob get Best Picture. Could be a surprise though.
Jeff Bridges will win Best Actor. I just know it. George can't beat him, i don't think, although he was so good in UITA.
BTW-Anna looked very pretty tonight. I was proud of her!
Michelle Pfeiffer still looks gorgeous!
Yes, Anna looked so beautiful tonight.
A very interesting take on how to offer up the best actor nominees.
I love Colin Firth. He's a really great actor, IMO.
What a terrific group of actors for Best Actor. WOW!
Love Colin Firth too! He's Mr Darcy afterall!!
@CMG-I agree! Great and touching way to introduce them.
@RP and CMG-Gotta love those British guys. ;)
Best Actor goes to Jeff Bridges
WAY TO GO JEFF!!! What a great actor, and class act.
Yeah, I do love those British guys. <3

I so loved him in Seabiscuit.
I've seen him in so many movies-Tron, Starman, Tucker a Man and His Dream, Fabulous Baker Boys, Arlington Road, and Blown Away......just to name a few.
@Wens-LOL! I hear ya.
@CMG-OMG! I totally forgot about Seabiscuit. LOL! He was great in that.
@RP-I know! We so want to see it. It looks great, and the misic is prob incredible. T Bone is awesome.

@RP-Yep. That's her. Kerry Mulligan-she's adorable!
Julie/ Julia was WONDERFUL!
Meryl Streep ROCKS!
Stanley Tucci is a funny guy!

Best Actress goes to Sandra Bullock
SANDRA DID IT!!!! YAY!

Our own little Oscar party. LOL
Poor Zac. He just doesn't have the charismatic charm of Rob.
Yup! Glad I could help. I often run commentary on movies. I'm just like MST3K
