Roger Ebert review: says movie is well made, did not delve on Robert's acting chops . . . 2nd time he'd done that, first Little Ashes, now Remember Me; although he bashed the acting of the actors "not Robert's specifically" in New Moon. Which means really that Roger Ebert is still reserving his judgment about Robert Pattinson --- unlike so many other critics who are jumping the gun. . . . gonna see it in about 4 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! with my mother!!!! then tomorrow with my significant others!!!
Saw it last night at midnight and it is absolutely fantastic! Rob really got a chance to show his range and you realize how little of his talent he gets to display as Edward.
And I agree, there is a whole world of women wanting to make a sex scene comfortable for him!
Out of the topic, I have to do my job! So since Annie became VIP, LMAO!!! :) We're starting to act like Summit, no complainigs- here's a little teaser for you!
Got back from Seeing Remember Me an hour ago! No spoiler post to discuss it yet??? Ever the people observer, I will discuss the audience, not the film now. I was surprised to see several men without women, some in pairs. I found that interesting. I am wondering what reasons single men would come to the film; aside from gay men, I thought maybe some who were attracted to Emile. I also wonder how much interest is being generated in the social/historical contect. On lines for tickets were 2 ladies in their 60s; they wanted to see the film for Pierce Brosnan. On the way out, though, they wre both talking about ROb, about whom they knew nothing to little, and saying how much he reminded them of James Dean. Although James Dean was before my time, I HAVE seen his films; he was quite good, but I really feel Rob is better. I don't know how easy it is to compare because filming itself was so much different back then; it seemed (to me) the actors were more as if in a play, on stage in theatre. But I did find it interesting to see women who knew nothing of Rob, who lived and loved, and possibly obsessed or even lusted) in the James Dean era, be so impressed with Rob to the point they thought of him as they did their idol from their youth. Thank G-d, there were NO screaming teens; in fact I saw no teens (This was at 11 a.m., hopefully they were in school). One woman gasped at Rob without his shirt. Otherwise, everyone was very polite. I know I am not sophisticated about films and acting, but for myself, the acting by EVERYONE was spot on, brilliant. Will try to talk more about the film itself when there is a spoiler area. Please go to see this ASAP.
Hey, hey, wait a minute, solas, I'm in my 60s and I have been a huge Rob fan ever since I first saw his face and heard his voice. Has nothing to do with James Who? at all. I'm not going to the movie to see Pierce either (well maybe a little bit).
@ Laurie - Pierce is very good in this and it's interesting to note that Rob's performance doesn't pale when contrasted to an established actor of excellent renown. Rob is a worthy contender on any screen. I'd comment more but this isn't the spoiler thread.
Hey I am 60 and I didn't want to see Pierce. I wanted to see my man Rob. What a hunk he is. Couldn't take my ees off of him. The sex scene with Emilie. Ooooo, la, la. Made me want to........ What a wonderfule movie. Rob's my man.
Remember Me awesome to say the least. Cast incredible, starting with our Rob who aced Tyler! Rob, you did it again. Totally nailed the part. Superb performance. Cast was perfection. I'm goin' again soon. Very emotional!
