See those types of scenes should have been left in there, and all the other stuff should have been cut down. If they ever make an Edward version of NM, I'll buy the dvd.
I hear ya skorpia. I'm also running low on batteries. LOL Rob kinda does that. Gets the girlie parts all excited.. even when he's brooding. -smirk- FILTM
This was in the book and should have been left in the movie. It makes sense and show Edward the way he feels before leaving Bella... Yes! I said Edward, not Rob... LOL...
LOL! Thats because Edward is a whiny little bitch. HAHAHAHA! But, in his defense, he has every right to be. Being a 109 year old virgin would make me a surrly turd too. Worse then that is having Bella as your girlfriend. Gah! I'd bitch slap that girl into next week.
I agree with you ladies, they should have left this in. It's perfect! All men are whinny to some extent. I really don't hear too much whining from Edward, just sadness.
Jesus.. I am sorry.. you can kill me but I hate whining Edward.. Jesus guy.. why don't you show some balls from time to time?? and I hate how he plays him like that... I know it's a role like that and he must do it like that.. but I really hate it.. it's painful for me to watch :/
In my opinion this scen should be in the movie, sometimes I don´t understand how they decide to cut whick moment or other...it´s like the moment when Edward, Bella and Alice go back in Forks since Italia, I think the strong moment between Edward and Charlis will be good and of course all the moments with Edward and Bella in the room in Voltera.
Sometimes I was boried in NM with ones scenes and the scenes what I wantes not be in the movie, ayyy
I actually REALLY like this scene. It's more like the book. We expect Edward to be "brooding", that's what makes his character. I mean Bella does her best to bring him out of his "brooding" mode, so in that way she is good for him. And he always lets her know how loved she is and how beautiful she is (especially after he comes back from Italy) So, they compliment each other very well in that sense.
I too feel that there was soooo much that was left out..and the movie could have been longer. Even Pirates of the Caribbean was a much longer movie. I agree that the scene should have been left in the movie.NM film didnt move me as much as Twilight.I expected more..and MORE ROB!!

I could feel the tension in this scene...it should have been left in. It does explain much - at least from Edward's point of view. I'm with peeling-a-fig -- when he says 'What do you want me say' it floored me as well.I love that voice! He's supposed to come off as feeling tortured and guilt ridden... which can be misinterpreted as whiny! haha
I like the scene actually, I wish they had kept it. I love the way he plays it, I know some of you find it whiny, but honestly I don't - I feel he's barely controlling his rage and sorrow and self-loathing, you feel that if he could cry (in a manly way) he would. What a pity they cut this!
When he says he wants to kill her........just talk..........all along I've thought that they needed to show that struggle more......there's just not enough danger to it. She has to really BELIEVE he is holding back the urge and he never really shows that he is.........imo.
The whole movie series needs more violence! Can't believe I'm saying that.
I totally disagree about that Gozde...this was the scene from the book and they should have left it in...it's way better than the one the did in the movie...
Remember he starts talking about how Mike Newton would be a better b/f for her...
I really don't think the director captured the spirit of the book that makes the story so special. All the important details and emotions between E and B were left out. Maintaining a pace doesn't mean to sacrifice important details. And the heavy make up on everyone's face is just wrong.
I like this scene. I felt something was missing in the movie. This scene makes sense. Rob shows how upset it makes Edward feel Bella won't have a normal relationship. He starting making up his mind on leaving her - giving her an opportunity for a normal life. I am glad it's in the DVD cut. I wish we could insert deleted scenes where they belong and make our own movie cut...
Off topic - but this is an interview with Will Fetters - the young man who wrote Remember Me - he is shattered over the bad reviews he has read over the last 3 days. Gosh I hope Rob isn't - but as sensitive of a guy as he is - I bet he is very affected as well. : ( So sorry Rob. I loved RM and I took someone to see it that had NO idea of the plot at all.........and she loved it.
I would have MUCH rather watched THAT truck scene than a few of the ones with Jacob that went on so long they got TEDIOUS. D
Deleting that scene was a big mistake IMO. Not everyone watching the movie has read the book... If this scene had preceded the kiss at the truck, Edward's groan would have made sense to EVERYONE, not just the fan girls.
There was no whining. I liked his intensity and the reminder of his struggle. It should have really been left in...
They should have cut the Bella/Jacob, "I'll remind you everyday..." yawn fest.
I'm new here and decided it's time to leave a comment. Love Rob...obviously :-) As I only have 1 friend (a guy actually) who likes Twilight so I can't talk about it/him much.
I really like this scene and think it should have been left in the movie. I'm looking forward to buy the DVD on Saturday. Finally.
DM, I could not agree more. Any scene with Edward should have been left in and they could cut about half of the Jacob scenes and I would be happy. I didn't think he sounded whiney at all. I don't understand why she is sitting so far away from him though. I would be in his pocket.
I wish they would recut/leave ALL the filmed scenes in the movies. I would buy the DVDs again. Can we start a petition? I'm sure the sales will make up for the editing costs. *I know... in my dreams. *sigh
captivated2- i completely agree. This scene should have not been cut.
Rob steals this scene and does it in a very believable way. Im sure many of you will fight me on this... but, i do sometimes see Rob slipping in his acting. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a very talented actor, but I think he still has a lot to learn. (and, after seeing RM, he is learning fast).
Great scene (minus Bella's last line which is another sappy one, "I don;t want normal, i want you") should have made it to the end.
Yes, it was wonderful, but MAYBE they cut it just because Bella's wig looks awful in that scene. I had the video full screen and it was distracting me from the beauty that is Mr. Cullen.
@Goz; I think most would take more Edward any way they can get him - whiney or no....lol
@Nicole: Yes, it is. I don't know if this was simply one outtake but the rear projection and lighting are straight from the 50's. Had a discussion way back about Gleiberman's take on NM, which was a critical review but pro the movie - all about 50's melodrama and faces. This scene is in the same vein...
I have to say I am glad they left this scene out. Not because of the dialouge--that was fine--but the way they shot this? How CHEESY!!!! It looked so fake! The truck was swaying back and forth ever so slightly with the road "whizzing" by in the background. Plus the lighting and the direct head on shot...yuck! Of course this is just my opinion....but I'm glad they deleted it!
I agree about the groan during the kiss making much more sense had they left this scene in! also, shariG, I think the reason Bella wasn't in his pocket (lol!) was the same reason she let him leave. Bella is nothing if not insecure. she doesn't believe (at least at this point in the story) that Edward could, would, or does truly want her. so when he seems to push her away and acts distant, she lets him.

LMAO skorpia!!! and yes, why would they cut this??
Aw Goz, Rob portrayed it exactly like Stephenie wrote it. He is brooding.... not whinny...
Liked Kristen saying she's a klutz too. They shouldn't have deleted this one. We wanted more Rob.

DM I agree. Everything from the book that happened with Jacob made it to the final movie, but very little of the Edward stuff. It's just wrong.
And Jacob was plenty whiney, why not let Edward whine too. I like seeing how frustrated he was, it explains his departure a bit better.
I'm just sitting here hoping they don't cut Edward so much from Eclipse.
This was in the book and should have been left in the movie. It makes sense and show Edward the way he feels before leaving Bella... Yes! I said Edward, not Rob... LOL...

he is really angry, sad... and looks like he wants to destroy the wheel
Aw I liked that scene, would have been good to emphasize that he does actually want to kill her!
I agree with you ladies, they should have left this in. It's perfect! All men are whinny to some extent. I really don't hear too much whining from Edward, just sadness.
LOL a whiny little what? ferret?

I agree.. that scene should be in the movie! it explains the story better.
I'm glad they didn't put that in the movie, but I just LOVE the way he says "boyfriend"... Can't help it!

What? Whiny? When he says: 'What do you want me say', I dissolved into my kitchen floor.
Jeez....could they be sitting any further apart? I agree, they should have left it in.

Big difference between whiny and anger held in check. Don't say things about Rob --Goz-- you know how protective his fans are of him.

ARRGGHHHH!!!!! How am I gonna last until Saturday????? I want to see these things, but I am waiting until I get the dvd. It's driving me crazy.
@ peeling that part got me too!
God I love his voice. And all of him.

I wish they would have left it in. I have a feeling I'm going to wish that a lot when I see all the deleted scenes.
Twicougar - I would SO buy that.

The inside of the car looks like it's from the 1950's.
Any scene with Rob should have been kept in the film. There was way too little Rob in New Moon.
haha, thank god they left that out! what a terrible little scene.
Yes, it was wonderful, but MAYBE they cut it just because Bella's wig looks awful in that scene. I had the video full screen and it was distracting me from the beauty that is Mr. Cullen.
