So my imagination is on overdrive thinking of Rob singing along to this song...
From Emilie de Ravin's interview with Spin Magazine
Her character on Lost might have fallen for a rock star, but the musical tastes of Australian actress Emilie de Ravin are much more than groupie-deep. Here, the 28-year-old -- whose next project, Remember Me, (out March 12) finds her canoodling with Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson -- reveals the contents of her iPod, including a certain gangsta rap outfit she discovered thanks to RPatz himself.
What album would we be surprised to learn is in your collection?
N.W.A's Straight Outta Compton. I think [Remember Me costar] Rob Pattinson introduced me to them.
Here's a link to the song in question... listen with your ears shut if you're a young'un!
i ADORE this about him. just like when he visited the Marcy projects...brotha got soul! lol...you can tell too by his itunes playlist and the way he sings....so cultured ;) im gonna use this new info when i try to make my male friends understand why im cyber dating a celebrity.
ReplyDeletenow that is really funny. never would have thought of rob as a NWA fan, but i guess we learn something new about him everyday :)
ReplyDeleteNWA? Really? lol what a coincidence just the other day I was listening to them..."Fuck tha police" to be precise LOL anyway, it makes me giggle picturing him listening to NWA :D love him
ReplyDeleteYou just can't box him in, can you?
ReplyDeleteThat's one of things I love so much about him; his originality and unpredictability. He's his own person. Such an original soul and I swear, this kid is led by that soul.
Rob has a good taste for music. He is an open mind man. I have read in some magazine he is or was a fan of Eminem ( rapper ).
ReplyDeleteI love Rob so much!!!
crazy vamp, Capitu and Brazilian Girls: my e-mail: expojc@gmail.com.
From Van Morrison to N.W.A. - his music choices are as diverse as his fans. LOVE HIM!
ReplyDelete@Tink - cyber dating! love that! so I guess this could be considered a form of cyber polygamy
ReplyDelete@CL - of course I had to sneak one more peek before turning in and now I think I need to give the gangsta rap another listen! OMG! what he does to me!
Good night ladies!
So Rob! He said he wanted to be a rapper when he was younger....can you imagine him rapping?
ReplyDeleteGod what a hoot that would be!
Nite Angie!
ReplyDeleteRPG - It would be hot, because it's Rob.
I wish he was a rapper lmaoo
ReplyDeleteno offense, but i think when english people trying to rap is hilarious.. sometimes i watch green street hooligans just to watch the credits roll to listen to the attempted "rap". NMW he likes old school. at least he has taste
Just when you think you are getting to know him..........he's a complex and multifaceted dude.
ReplyDeletei used to believe he was really sarcastic and im starting to believe that maybe he really is telling the truth lol
ReplyDeletebtw i am sorry i cant write in english. i promise its my first language, i just have a typing impediment (if thats possible)
ReplyDeleteYeah. NWA certainly is 'old school' and no surprise...so is he.
ReplyDeleteLook at the music he likes, the books he reads, the films he watches. We got us an old soul here girls.
And now that I think of it, I believe he once said that he doesn't much care for current music except for KOL. And his favorite films are from the second golden age of filmmaking...the seventies.
Yes. He has exquisite and impeccable taste. That's why I think he's going to one day make quite a filmmaker himself; writing, acting, directing and producing his own films.
I really think he's got the talent and ambition to do it all. Hell. He could even write the music for them.
Then he'd be another Chaplin.
Its pretty cool to know that Rob likes other music, I wouldn't think he likes NWA but hey Rob keeps on surprising us.
ReplyDeleteI doubt Rob has any idea of how much influence he wields. Books he likes, we rush to read, music he likes, we will listen to, movies he appears in, we go to see. Intentionally or not he is sharing the blessings of his wealth and fame with many, many different artists. There is something magical about Rob and it keeps growing.
ReplyDeleteDamn! That chick has got amazing taste in music. As does Rob of course, but that's no news.
ReplyDeleteHi all,
ReplyDeleteRob is into Jazz and Rock, that I've seen anyway. He loves Van Morrison.
But anything he does is okay by me. Just love the whole person he is. Outside and inside. He's just a great guy.
@kat, hi where are you?
ReplyDeleteI realize Kate and Godze are in
Europe, but where are you?
US maybe? I am and love your video's.
Thanks
Aww, Beloved, I love Van Morrison, too... his music reminds me of yours... hum... Now I'm going to look for this new one (new to me).
ReplyDeleteCan I say it out loud now? Yep? Ok...
°Capitu takes a deep breath°
Love you, my man!
Muah! :x

ReplyDeleteHe does have eclectic taste in music...piano, blues, Morrison, and R Kelly.
ReplyDeleteI cracked up watching the Twilight DVD extras during the movie commentary w/Kristen, Catherine Hardwick, and Rob, the scene where Edward unbuttons his shirt for the sparkle reveal? You hear Rob start to sing, "Ain't nothin' wrong..." and start laughing.
As in R. Kelly's "Ain't nothin' wrong with a little bump and grind.." sooo funny.
Well, why not! Ice Cube and Dr. Dre are not the worst musicians on the planet.. and are very eclectic too!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning to everyone
ReplyDeleteReally Rob? I think you would love my ipod playlist ;)I already love yours.

Rob likes Van Morrison`s songs.
ReplyDeleteEverytime I hear Morrison`s song "Someone like you" and The Police`s song "Everybreath you take" I remember Rob.
Ladies, my signature has changed. I am not JC anymore, now I am LTavares2010.
Love you all.
Wow!!! That's a surprise, but it just makes me love him even more. I love the fact he just keeps surprising us just when we think we're getting to know him! I can just picture him listening to this. Love, Love, Love this guy.
ReplyDeletemy son told me this NWA song dates back to 1988? As for Rob's taste he loves stuff anywhere from the 1960's to the present - but he appreciates the old classics no matter what genre - he is a class act himself - and his total immersion in music, literature and film is one of the many things I love about this chameleon of a man.
ReplyDeleteSleeper
ReplyDeleteThank you for this - Linden Arden stole the highlights - the sun is showing it face over the trees and trying to burn through the hazy winter sky, this morning. All I need is a cup of coffee and a cozy spot to sit listen.
Fae - it is definitely Van Morrison's Beside You that is Rob's fave song (I heard him say it in an early interview) ...and that whole Astral Weeks cd is amazing - I have the live version from the Hollywood Bowl in 2009 - a concert Rob was at which always adds to my enjoyment of listening to it thinking of him being there and enjoying the exact same songs I am loving too!!
ReplyDelete@JandR Astral Weeks is perfect as well as Veedon Fleece- my favorite too. :) He was at Hollywood Bowl?? I watched that concert on you tube :D! Good to know now he was somewhere in the videos too! :)
ReplyDeleteRob in Empire interview: Van Morrison "Beside You". Kristen listens too because of Rob.

I tried to vusiualize Rob listening to that song and all I could do was giggle. Because between Van Morrison and N.W.A. could fit a whole ocean. Not in an judging kind of way, they are just so different. Proofs the boy is many-sided ;-)
ReplyDeleteBest. Rob story. Ever.
ReplyDeletelol, white boy listening to Ezie E and a gerry curled Ice Cube.....
ReplyDeleteAnd a lot of kids who love rap will go back to the old school stuff, and NWA are like the godfathers of gangsta rap. They include Dr. Dre and Ice Cube before they went solo, and they are just an important group in the genre who brought rap recognition to the west coast. But yeah, hilarious, this little Posh Spice Jr. was rapping about "crackers" with Ice when he was a kid...hahahhaah
ReplyDelete(he's(RPATTZ)going to one day make quite a filmmaker himself; writing, acting, directing and producing his own films...He could even write the music for them.)

Sleeper
ReplyDeleteAgain thank you! I now have find more Van Morrison on my to do list for today.
@Fae, I know :) It gets me too.The other one is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteSorry but not even ROB could make me like this kinda rap music. It's just not my thing lol, I DO like the fact he likes different kinda music though. I like different kinds too as long as it strikes any kind of cord with me..and I may prefer Rock music but I like songs from other genres too even if I may not be a fan of that said genre...and I probably like a song or two from NWA lol. Just not this one..heh
ReplyDeleteBoy this song takes me back. I haven't heard it in forever. Old school NWA with Dre and Cube is classic. Love Rob even more. I remember him talking about his rap group that he had. That is so funny to think of him trying to be all hard. LOL But I'm sure him and his friends had at least one decent rap song.
ReplyDeleteOMF! This is like my favorite NWA song I love listening to it when it comes on my ipod! Can't believe this is also one of Rob's Favorites guess we have something in common! haha
