I've been with Goz since day one. I've been helping post on the blog since December. Luckily the nice comments far outweigh the bad... but the bad seem to stand out more. When you're doing this for the love of Rob, it hurts when people trash it. We often can't win... if we had posted the intrusive pictures we would have been slated too.
Thank you all for the wonderful comments each and every day. For those that choose to post negative comments - there are plenty of other Rob sites. If you don't like what we do, go elsewhere.
@ solas-xbox live is when you pay a fee to play with people all over the world with the game of your choice. You can wear a headset and talk to them and what they would say comes out of the speakers of your televsion,my kid has a 50 something flatscreen with great sound in his little room.This guy was playing Guitar Hero (?) and my kid is an expert/level. the guy my kid talked to was GOOD and actually beat my kid once or twice.
He is so cute with that bag, it's like you've given it to 3 year old and told him "Here hold this bag tight, don't drop it!" And he did what you told him! :DDDD

I am a professional photographer and no not a pap, I agree that they are obviously taken most likely w/o his knowing if they were using a zoom lens. I would consider it to be slightly intrusive and out of kindness to him I would let him be but they are by far from the worst of the worst.
I seriously have to question why in the WORLD he would choose a window seat in the restaurant???

I understand why they didn't at first source it...cause they don't want to endorse the gossip site it came from. But what if someone used pics from Robsessed and chose not to source it because they don't like "fan sites" or whatever the reason?
They know this, here, which is why they decided in the end to do the right thing and site the source, as despicable as that source may be.

Have to agree with everything Kat said. I remember when I first start blogging here and was inexperienced and posted a pic and got slated on twitter for it, it def made me wary about doing it again and is one of the reasons we debate so much about what to post and what not to, I didn't go with my gut feeling with that one pic and I regretted it. Now I always go with my gut and if it doesn't feel right I don't post.

Wow, I come here after a quiet supper and all hell has broken loose! I think I'm getting indigestion scanning through the over 200 comments. Yikes!
Poor Godze, Kate and Kat. I've never addressed you before but I'd like to say, thumbs up to you for your decision. Class act.
Just before visiting your blogsite, I googled Robert's name and came across the other intrusive photos inadvertently. I was shocked and saddened that he can't even do things like buy underwear or eat in a restaurant without a telephoto lens spying on him.
This is part of the privacy that he, like any human being, deserves. None of us would like it if our own lives were recorded and spread over the internet that way. We'd be mortified and feel violated. Can we all not think of Rob as a human being first, and treat him as we would want to be treated?
I believe there's a line photographers should not cross, and they know what it is. They know it, we know it, but it is crossed anyway.
I know it sounds stupid but this is the first time I almost cried reading the comments, after I'd seen the photos. Yeah, yeah, I know, I looked and saw too (this is what happens when it is put right in front of you, and Gozde wisely knew that), but I felt creeped out.
Repeat: Rob is a human being first and to pretend this isn't violation is delusion.

Yup, they are intrusive and Solas and jmm4832 nicely articulated what "intrusive photos" are. Totally get why the ladies discussed and decided not to post them. I am the one that went ballistic about the taxi cab pic, Rob looking abjectly miserable as the camera was stuck in his face. However, to my knowledge that was not originally posted here. One of the most intrusive ones EVER, was the infamous hand-holding one on the tarmac, in the dark - they had no clue there was a camera around. However, that was bound to be posted all over the damn internet and in every gossip rag on earth (as it was), so choosing not to post it would have been useless. Ironically, it was that photo that led me to this site! (LOL)

re Kool-aid: Everyone is so off the wall today and the moon is not full, so I was thinking in terms of hallucigens, which were put into kool-aid even before JOnestown tragedy. In the 60s they used to call it sunshine koolaid-- and sunshine was the 'acid' put into the koolaid, by the sunshine superman (there is a song of that name). Tragically, the evil ones at JOnestown put poison into the koolaid and many people were killed. But this was a later reference.
You can google it.
And i recall some trippers who were called sunshine supermen as well, because they thought they were indestructible and were 'flyng.'

Firstly I am amazed that Gozde,Kate and Kat did not show all the pictures. Really they, (other then the one of him seen eating that I totally disagree with) are certainly no worse then many others I have seen on this site before??

I get annoyed by this comment because I notice here sometimes that when someone disagrees in any way the troup rally and the standard battle cry is "go somewhere else".

Sadly on my part, out of curiosity, I made the mistake of looking at the photos that you didn't post. I wish I never looked. I actually cried when I saw them, I felt so badly for Rob. It's incredible to me that someone would not only take those photos, but post them. Intrusive isn't a strong enough word for those photos. It makes me sad that our society has devolved to this point.
I wish I could wash my brain out with soap. I'll just have to focus on the happy photo you did post. That's how I want to think of Rob.

For what its worth, I respect the site managers right to select what goes on their blog including pictures and sources. All that really has to be said is that the picture doesn't belong to them. By the way, I tried to follow the link, but the page didn't make any sense to me and I couldn't find anything about rob on it.

oh and if you are going to go REALLY technical, the blogs that source each other don't do it right either. The photos belong to the papz and/or the photo agencies they sold it to. So when you think you are doing "good blogging" by sourcing Robertpattinsonforthewin.com you are also sourcing wrongly. You should be paying the photo agency in order to post.

Ummm, Gozde, when did I EVER say you are "not a good blogger"? I simply said you should site your source. Something you obviously agree with since you do it, "religiously".
Also, it's quite funny you say you didn't call us names on the front page. That's EXACTLY what you did do. You slandered us and made it seem like WE were your reason for posting the source. No. You posted the source because you know it's the right thing to do. You didn't post it because you were "fed up". If that was the case you would have posted all the pics because there were many more complaints about that.
BTW, go back and read Amber's posts. She was nothing but kind and reasonable. You should be ashamed for calling her out the way you did.
And...because I just read your recent post.... I disagree. You only need to post where you found the pics...NOT the original source. Because as long as everyone posts where they got them from then it can always be traced back to the owner.

Nope sourcing the last person who sourced is not how sourcing is supposed to go.
If NY Times posts something then Twilight Lexicon posts it and after that His Golden Eyes posts it, you are supposed to source NY Times not His Golden Eyes. You can track it back to NY Times is not how it goes.

If ever there was a lesson to be learned from that saying 'be careful what you wish for' then this was it. I wrote in my diary last night how excited I was at the new pictures we got from Eclipse and Remember Me and expressed a wish for up to date candid ones. Blow me if I came back and had one more look on this site and there was that one photo of Rob and Tom. I was ecstatic but the fact that there were more pics I had to see. Soeone on IMDB finally posted links to them...how intrusive could they be?
Well I wish I hadn't seen them now...the ones of them walking along the street are fine. Every celeb gets papped like that but they aren't potentially embarrassing. The ones of him in the shop buying underwear and then eating his lunch are. Poor Rob...I am so sorry.
He's going to get a lot of stick about these pics on the sites where they just love to have a go at him.

Xcuse the buttin' in, and gonna get in trouble for this, no doubt, but Heather, please, it's driving me nuts: if you're gonna hound someone for not doing this then use the right word. It's "CITE" a source not "site." Site is a noun for a location or place. Cite is a verb and Citation the noun.
And Gozde is correct. If citing you need to name the original source publication. If you are citing a secondary source, then you are also including original material from that secondary source, as well as the original,
or the secondary source has not made the original available.

Citing the correct site aka sourcing 101:
The source is the photographer/photo agency. Look it up or check the big blogs/news sites. That's how you source. Thanking "Robert Pattinson is Awesome" is what we usually do because of courtesy but the truth is they don't pay for the pictures so maybe you should start a campaign and tell people to buy their photos and source the photo agencies 'cause that's how it's REALLY supposed to be. Not the way we "play" blogging or the way people think they source correctly.
Oh and if you post a manip you can't claim copyright on it the ORIGINAL photographer still holds the rights UNLESS you bought the right to post the pictures.
And I'm done...

In a way, I am hoping no one will read this, and that everyone has moved on. But just in case:
There is a difference between disagreeing in opinions, such as liking Rob with a beard or not, and arguing about how owners of sites run their sites. For the former, it is silly to say, 'if you don't like our opinions, then go to a different site'; but for the latter, it is logical--if you don't like the way a site is run, find one that is run more to your liking.
As for citing on this site: Almost everything is meticulously cited here, and if it is not, it is (at least as far as I can tell) so that this site is not a vehicle from which people travel to obnoxious/noxious stuff. For sure you can make your own decisions about photos, but find them yourselves. The owners of this blog do the immense favour to us by finding material and posting it here, and are in no way obligated to present everything, whether they like or approve of it or not.
Some may feel hypocrisy is displayed because some photos are presented and some not, but aside from the fact that the owners go by the gut and not by a constitution or bible, and dong so are therefore rendering 'hypocrisy' an innaccurate term, it once again is not an opinion of conversation such as Rob having a beard, but becomes an indictment on the people who run the blog, therefore implying this is not the right blog for you.
I appreciate Gozde, Kat, Kate, et al, and most bloggers here so very much. That's all for now, folks. :-)

Contrary to the belief that words are just words, for me, at least, they carry tones and intent. My first husband was extremely abusive, and accompanied his abuse with 'swear' wrods, and whenever I hear them or read them, I think of them as words of violence, not mere phonemes strung together as any other word.

I feel compelled to add my two cents to this debate. I have been lurking for about a month or so, having just recently become "robsessed". I have checked out many Rob fansites and ROBsessed by far is the only one I come to everyday, and often more than once a day for several reasons:
1. The site is updated every single day with latest Rob news, pictures, videos and fan art. No other site is as comprehensive.
2. The comments section is great. You have a mature, respectful, self-policing, open community and great discussions.
3. You so clearly love and respect Rob. Even after all the "Respect Rob" hoohaa, almost every major Rob fansite has the intrusive pap pics posted. And even though you never explicitly joined the campaign, you have shown so much restraint, clearly just out of love and respect for the man, that I admire your site sooo much more.
Thankyou so much Gozde, Kate and Kat for providing us fellow Robsessors with a place where we can indulge without feeling bad.
