In an interview with thewrap.com Jackie Collins talks about her new book and Hollywood Heartthrobs and of course Rob came into the conversation.
Here's what she had to say:
Most of your characters are under 30. How do you keep current?
I’m actually a popular culture junkie. I love keeping up on things on the internet, reading all the fabulous stuff that goes one. Perez is funny, thedailybeast, the radar.com, all of those.
I like to be able to mention things before they actually happen. For instance, I mention Robert Pattinson. When I wrote the book he wasn’t as big as he is today, but I knew he would be. I just had this feeling.
Around that time you had a brief affair with Marlon Brando?
Yes, he was my favorite movie star, and I actually was 16. I met him at a party and it was all bets are off because I was a very street smart 16 and what are you going to do when you come face to face with your favorite movie star and you’ve seen “The Wild One” 10 times?
That’s the fantasy of every woman of your generation and half the men!
Well yes, I think any 16-year-old today who came across Robert Pattinson would do the same thing! (Kate: Less of the 16 please Jackie! Are you saying you'd turn down Robert Pattinson? I certainly wouldn't!)

Ooh, that's my face to the left of Rob's. We look good together and I'm over 16
I am confused. Did she write a book with Rob in mind? It kinda seems that way by her phrasing.
Get in line woman!!! Hey, CW&IA update. It's coming to an end. Sniff sniff.
oh I reread it. She just says she mentions him in the book. I also clicked the link. You should add the next question cause she rocks. They ask her about Brando
How’d he measure up?
Oh honey, he lived up.
Love her!
Does every person even remotely related to the entertainment industry get asked a Robert Pattinson question. I get that he is mentioned in her book, but I swear....
And Jackie, sweetie, you wouldn't turn down Rob, no one would.
Okay Jackie, I hear ya. But honestly~over 50 here and there would definitely be no turning down.
bla bla bla... the new magical words: Robert Pattinson... You place them right in a sentence or an interview and you've made it... LOL...
Oh nice! what a way to shove these young teens into a frenzy and AS IF Rob would even consider something so dumb! Please tell this lady to take a hike. Im street smart too and this lady is saying its ok just to justify what she did. This lady is crazy!
Oh yeah Im a fan of her books (theyre very in your face sex-my kind) and Lucky is my fav fictional character other than Scarlett o Hara. But seriously-Jac,dont encourage that crap.

Wow, does that woman have the coolest life or what? Damn..
i've never heard of her.
In her latest book, Poor Little Bitch Girl [St. Martin's Press] Collins has pulled out all the scintillating stops. There is not just one heroine, http://usspost.com/jackie-collins-new-release-usspost-5273/
@CL & sissidelyon - I totally Robert Pattinson agree
@Haystackhair - this line keeps getting longer and longer...
OK i k no wyou all joke a lot-- but is this a normal thng--to brag about having an affair at age 16? Or did I misunderstand her use of the word 'affair'? And what do you mean by 'not turning down' Rob? Do you mean for a lunch meeting? or what? Would any of you really have an affair, in real life, or is this just phantasy and humour?
I just turned 60 and to be honest, no I wouldn't have an affair with Robert Pattinson! What handsome, smart, good-looking 23 yr old man would jump into bed with a 60 yr old grandma? To Dream -- Yes! To Wish -- Yes!! To Realize -- No! But dreaming and wishing is what keeps this 60 yr old "young at heart"!
Thanks, Nana. :-)
Excellent point. If Rob were into Cougars I would be first in line, or at least muscling my way to the front of the line. LOL
Rob in Ellen show video, marking 1100th episode, aired 8Feb (photo of two of them is briefly at 0:30 second):

Jackie, Marlon Brando!!! STFU Woah...miss fast tail. I6? No wonder her books sell so well. She definitely knows what she is talking about. Damn.
The thing that impressed me most about this is, Jackie Collins has been around Hollywood for decades. She's SEEN IT ALL! SHE KNOWS IT ALL! (meaning alot of the secrets that the public has no clue about...even in this age of information and the internet)
She's seem 'em all come and she's seen 'em all go. And for her to say that at the beginning of all of this that she had that 'feeling' that he was going to be big? That is huge.
I don't care for her style of writing, but that woman KNOWS Hollywood. She knows who's got what it takes to become a star and who doesn't.
And Rob does and what he's got is going to take him way beyond Twilight, which we'll all look back on someday and see as the jumping off point of his career and stardom.
I saw it too. The day I laid eyes on him. It was just this 'feeling.' I guess I wasn't the only one.
