Free for All But At What Cost?

Hello,

I'm going to interrupt the ROBsession for a serious post.

We have been trying to walk a fine line between everything about Robert Pattinson. Try not to take any sides, try to be fair, try not to censor...try to be suggestive but never crude. We might fail but we try.

We don't take anything lightly least of all the comments and the email tips/suggestions.

We have done "please observe proper crassness" posts in the past but we can't seem to get through to some people. So last week someone suggested we do a "free for all" post. We did and it got SO out of control that I HAD TO remove it. I'm not blaming anyone for the turn that thread took but myself, I told people to go nuts and they did. I was trying to find a solution but it turned out to be the wrong one.

This is not an adult blog and we don't want to be forced by blogger to add that warning to our blog. OUR posts do not need that warning, we are very careful.

I BEG YOU to stop turning the comments section into a place where people cringe away from. Be suggestive, be playful we are ALL about that! You don't need to go all NC17 on others. We don't delete comments, you know that, we respect YOU is it too much to ask for a little bit respect back? And not just to us and your fellow ROBsessors but to Robert Pattinson. Think about this: if the things said in those comments were written about an actress you all would react to it much more differently than you do now. If those comments were made about you, you'd be running to the police.

Thank you in advance for your understanding... A couple of hours till the BAFTA's, let's all enjoy it together because it's all about Rob...always about Rob...

Sincerely,
Gozde

  3. I appreciate that you try to accommodate everyone. It apparently just didn't work out. I don't know since I didn't go in that thread. I had a feelin...

But while I'm at it, I don't comment much, but I did want to say that I really do love your site. It's the best place for Rob info, you always make me laugh and I have fun (mostly) reading the comments. I'm sorry you had to make this post, but otoh I'm glad you did. Totally agree with you as I usually do. <3

  4. Goz, You are a class act!

Stand back.... I'm gonna do something special for ya....

Cartwheel, cartwheel, backflip back filp, cartwheel...(big finish) double flip round off and solid landing....arms up, smile!

And if you know me or have seen my picture, you know how diffisult that was for me to do.. so I gotta be happy!

I'm sorry you have to be the "bad guy".. but in my mind.. you are being the good guy and keeping a place we all love to visit,... a place we all want to visit!

Good rule of thumb, if you don't want it said about you or someone you love, you probably shouldn't say it.

    I'm proud of you!

    Thank you!

  5. 'Tis true, you are all class Godze.

Respect should apply to each other as well as Rob, and it is completely appropriate for you to point it out.

  6. Hi Gozde,

I would like to add my complete support in what you're trying to do here. I rarely post but I do read the comments section (needless to say, I check your blog daily) and it does get old very quickly when things just get too much. I love your blog (especially the super witty tags) and I hope everyone gives you (and the team) the proper respect you (we) all deserve.

    Cheers!

  7. Have I missed something? What happened? I can't believe someone wrote something gross on Rob...Godze you have all my support!!!

  10. Gozde, thank you for creating this wonderful place for us to get together and share our love of Robert Pattinson.

I truely respect and love what you, Kate and Kat do for us each day.

  11. I totally agree with Gozde and support this post.
I can't even think a reason about why some people react like this..
We should all respect this blog because it's valuable(like a kind of family)for so many fans, including myself.
And don't forget the most important:we love Rob and want the best for him.Just this.

Thank you Gozde,Kate and Kat for your great job.

  12. GOzde et al-- You know how I appreciate your work and this blog in general. I am sorry the 'free for all' didn't work out--or perhaps it worked out more than you expected? It kept everything on one space.

Kelly- ITA that if we don't want something said about ourselves, we shouldnt say it about others. But some people for various reasons want, or think they want, that said about themselves. So then they also have to think of the other person and really really be honest about what he might want, and not rationalize that he would enjoy it just because it is what they want.

And suz, I do love what you said: 'This is my ONE place for All things Rob, for wonderful friendships, for fun and intelligent banter..'

  14. Thanks for this thread and making it clear to everyone...
Late at night it's sometimes funny to see some comments, but others get embarrassing and you are totally right..
Thanks for this wonderful place and it would be regrettable if it came to dissappear because of some people that get a little carried away...
Rob is a fantastic young man, beautiful soul... He happens to be totally gorgeous too... but that doesn't justify treating him without the respect he is due, like everyone of us here, starting with you girls that created this place...
    Thanks and lots of love...

  15. Luckily I missed the "free for all" post. I've been visiting this blog for months everyday, and it's because I love Rob and I love this blog, the funny comments, the Robsession we share, but ALWAYS with respect. I love Rob, in a crazy and sweet way. I respect him, and I want everybody who likes him to respect him too, because he's just a guy, and he deserves our respect and more. I went to Fan Event in Madrid and I saw things and heared comments I did not like at all, that made me feel sad, and I just could imagine how he feels about it.
You have my support and I'm sorry for what happened because I can imagine how you felt :o(

  16. Gozde,
thank you, and I'm sorry you had to do this as well...
I can be as crass & in the gutter as the next person,
but I was even appalled at the cooments on that thread..

It takes a lot to shock me... We try to have fun, and be silly and talk about all the crazy things this man brings to our minds.... but there IS a line, and it got crossed big time.

Don't feel bad about doing this, it's the right thing to do...

    From a faithful NB!

  19. I suggest this before-PLEASE register the WOMEN of the post so that they have the their "own" little room to relax and chill. We had to do this on another site. You know those drinks and craziness get out of hand:)Its so hard to act like an adult especially since Rob is our candy. It saddens me that you HAVE to walk on eggshells and please everyone. Im the rebel-so I'll try and keep the crassness to a minimum. Just remember all those sexy pics (DETAILS MAG),is just beggin for trouble. Great site-you guys are my saviors and I love Rob.

    ReplyDelete
  20. With all the RESPECT for Rob and he truly is one of the people I respect the most.
So the thread crossed the hard limits? I haven't read all the comments so I don't know. We all get carried away sometimes.
So I want to say thank you girls for celebrating him this way and for making this place- for this truly is a place for making friends, to support each other in everything, I noticed that when someone is in problems we all jump to help the best we can, it's nice to be at this place. And also when something bad is said about Robert we all stand up and support him even more! cause he deserves it and the words are nasty they can prick like thorns! I sometimes feel so crazy thinking about the guy I don't know, that never happened to me before, but talking with you and sharing the same thoughts with you helps, makes me feel I'm not that crazy. :)
    So once again THANK YOU.

  21. Goz , Many thanks for this.

  23. I so agree Goz. I went and read the comments on that post the other day and was shocked and cringed at some of the comments.

This is a place to enjoy our love of Rob but we need to have some restraint. I would be so embarrassed if he saw the comments, and I'm sure he would be,too.

I don't mind adult comments here and there, hey, we all think them. But let's be tasteful about what we say and how we say it.

I love this site, and would be severely bummed out if anything about it changed. Keep up the good work!

  26. Thank you Goz.
i stumbled on the post after reading some disappointed posters' comments and was saddened by the level of"nuts" it had become, and early on...

As if Rob doesn't get enough from the screaming stalking fans in person, we objectify him to the extreme in our posts...

thank you for providing a place for poeple to talk opening about rob, but please, Robsessors, remember he is still a person with feelings and thoughts and his own views.

I so enjoy your site, because i know it is a place where people like me can gather.

last night was the first time i felt the "creepy" in Rob Obsession. thank you for pulling it down.

clapping and standing for all you do!

  27. I don't leave comments often...however, as a Rob fan myself who has a 13 year old daughter who is an even bigger fan than myself, and who I KNOW goes on this website often, I appreciate all that you do girls (Gozde, Kate & Kat). Thank you for trying to make this site one that I KNOW my young daughter is safe on.

  29. Goz and the girls, thank you sooo much for all your work. This is the best Rob site on the WWW and be sure that all your effort is appreciated.

I did not visit the "free for all" but although I consider this a "grown up" fan site, I already previously read comments that made me think, "girl, get yourself a sex life and leave that boy (Rob) alone".

So be sure you are not the "bad guy" and I love your site and visiting it regularly (several times a day).

    ReplyDelete
  30. I really appreciate what you do around here. I've been coming to this site since about a week after you made it and I've loved every minute of it. It's the one place that looks at everything Rob objectively and respectfully and for THAT I've stuck around.

I missed the free for all post but let's look at it this way...if was your son, would you want people saying those things about him? how about your brother? If not, then just don't say it.

Thank you again for all you and Kate and Kat do around here. Y'all truly are all class.

  33. THANK YOU GOZ!!!

You, Kate, and Kat all do such an awesome job with this site!

I have said this before and I'll say it again: This is the one place I can escape to every day for my daily dose of all that is Rob. It is great to join up with others who love Rob just as much as I do. What a shame it would be to lose anybody because the comments are becoming too offensive. We all can have fun without crossing the line. The key is to RESPECT Rob and those around us of all ages.

    *another group hug*

  34. Again, Gozde, this is why I love this site. You do your best. You really do your best, to balance the love and still the respect, for the man, and for us fans. Thanks to you and Kat and Kate for all your work/love and most of all, for the difficult decisions you have to make. Love you all; love Rob!

  37. I would like to add one more view from my dirty little mind..,

while this is not an "adult" blog, it's also not a Disney blog either... I personally would not let a young daughter read the comments...look at pictures & read the posts yes...

I don't ever want to feel like the language police are watching....and I know Gozde wouldn't want that either...

    ReplyDelete
  38. We should not forget that Rob can also read all of this.
I have a Girlfriend ,she is an actress too and she told me that she does it. She reads in the Internet about themselves. So do many artists. Why not, it is ok.
    So Rob..everything is ok
    we love you ;)

  39. Gozde,Kat and Kate thank you ,you have a lot of work and you make a good job

    ReplyDelete
  40. Gozde,Thanks for trying to channel the hardcore lust in a separate thread. It was a good idea that just spiraled out of hand. I know how much you hate to censor, but there is a line...

You're right RPG, we all need to defend the blog and our buddies here from verbal assaults. We also need to do our part to keep the comments from teetering into a rape Rob fest. I considered posting in the thread to remind everyone that an all-ages blog needs to hover around PG13... but instead I just steered away.

    Mea culpa.

We all need to be part of setting the tone here and helping redirect the comments, so the admins don't have to crack the whip over and over again. (Tho I do think Goz you'd look pretty schmexy dressed up as Indiana Jones yielding a bull whip.... proper crassness!)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Loisada: EXACTLY. We need your help to set the tone. It's a community and if you show your presence, if people set a tone others will feed from that tone. We can't police the comments but we'd appreciate ANY help :)

Kelly, I can imagine your sexy cheer and backflips, lol :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. oh well i miss all the fun again :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Perhaps I am misunderstanding: some know their 13 year-olds come to this site; others point out that this is not a Disney blog and so wouldn't let a young daughter read the comments. I had thought this blog was for all who were fans for Rob, and we know he does have fans among young teens as well. They do google Rob and this site does come up. Again, perhaps I missed something or misunderstood-- is there a rating that says a person must be a certain age to come to or read this site?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Gozde and Loisada, in all fairness, when any of us DO remind fellow bloggers, some resent it and are ugly and not pleasant in their responses.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I had been planning to at least lurk in the "free-for-all" thread but that night my computer got some nasty viruses and I couldn't go online-now I'm kinda glad! I only read the first bunch of comments and it was getting raunchy, a little more than usual but I figured since it was in one thread with a warning posted that it would be ok...obviously it got out of hand!

There are plenty of times when the NB's get together and go a little nuts...usually just keep it to innuendos and *winkwink* type comments. I hope we haven't offended anyone! I know that this isn't a blog that carries an only 18+ warning, but I agree that I wouldn't want young girls reading even our comments at times.

I'm glad that the thread was taken down if the comments were as offensive as it sounds like they were, but now I'm wondering if maybe I should quit posting my "naughty" comments in order to make this more PG13 than R rated... :(

I always have such a blast when we're all here chatting but I truly don't want to be offensive or too adult for any kids that wander into the comments.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I totally agree. I bet that several girls unleashed their most wild fantasies. But I also believe that we must keep certain limits, because above all, as you wrote, we are here for Rob, because we admire him and love him, so that the least he deserves from fans is: respect.

Anyway, I thank you for giving us a place to get wild about Rob. Regardless of the situation has gotten out of control, is very generous of the blog to give us this freedom. What was missing, perhaps, was the able to seize the opportunity without putting at risk the integrity of the object of our affection. I think.

Sorry, I am Mexican and English is not my native language, of course. So I apologize if I wrote some nonsense.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Seriously?

If you promote the Details mag pictures & interview (which is adult content), entitle a thread "Friday Free for All" and then request participants to "contain all of your racy comments here only please", then I would suggest that you have misled some new participants.

    Including me.

Clearly the thread was way more than you imagined, but I believe it was within the parameters that you set for the thread. You opened it up and people responded.

I'm curious...Since it can be such a delicate issue for you, Why were you not monitoring it Friday? Saturday? Why did you wait to let it spiral so far off your content control w/o jumping in a re-directing?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Neverthink: Did you read what I wrote? I said I wasn't blaming anyone but myself, I did tell you to go nuts and you did. I also said we do make mistakes.

So yes, seriously. I am requesting the comments to be kept R rated at most.

And why didn't I do anything? Beause I work, I was sick and had no time to monitor.

    ReplyDelete
  49. It got a little naughty for me...i made a comment about smacking him and yelling "Say my name!", but shortly after that, it went to a naughtiness level that shocked even me. (hard to do)

It wasn't that I didn't understand where the women were coming from, after all...Rob just stirs up feelings like that in women. But some things are better left to the imagination, and there was NO leaving things to the imagination in that thread. It was borderline pornographic, and when kids have access to this site....well, porn beyond jaw/finger/messy hair porn aren't acceptable.

Good work, Goz, I am glad it was reigned in.

    ReplyDelete
  50. You are right it was misleading, I am not blaming anyone. You had every right to go where you did in that thread. I am saying, we won't have a thread like that again and we would like the comments to not cross to NC17 :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. To make it clearer: I am not blaming anyone for the things on THAT thread. I'm talking about normal threads being too racy.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thank you so much Goz, bravo! I didn't read the thread but have read some in the past that I knew it would not be my cup of tea.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Solas,
I said that and those are my views, not Gozde's..

I come here to celebrate Rob and meet up with friends and have fun, I do nor come here to bd judged by the moral police, and if I had a young daughter, no, I wouldn't let her read the comments... I would send her to one if the twilight blogs...

Of course people of all ages & backrounds come here... But I want to constantly be thinking, oh no, if I say Fuck that some ones virgin ears are going to be deflowered...

    That's what I meant...

    ReplyDelete
  54. You´re so right!!!

  56. Goz, Kate & Kat -thank you for this wonderful place. I know I initially dove in the fray, but later left and I believe what you did was correct.

If I have crossed that line, I sincerely and whole-heartedly apologize. You have my word I will never broach that line again. I do not wish to lose your trust.

    ReplyDelete
  57. That's about all I have to say on this..it's never going to end gozde..there will always be ppl getting outa line..whether it be sexual or just plain being rude to others..then afterwards all kissing ass and saying it wasn't me..it was her..pathetic petty BS..but this is a woman's blog after all..what do you expect..I'll be the first to admit..I DID IT..Details mag was my undoing..LOL..and a lot of ppl will think while reading this..well at least she admits it..but guess what..am I going to apologize for it???..NO~!!! *shrugs*

    ReplyDelete
  58. I second what Martini said...I apologize for any offensiveness in the past and will try to keep my naughtier thoughts to myself!

I'm wondering what your response is to RPG's comment about language, though. Have we crossed the line there? I want to keep coming here but I don't want to be a trouble-maker.

    ReplyDelete
  59. @kemberly - ditto.
    it's all subjective.

i thought i was posting in a free for all. i'll own my posts...no apologies for that thread.

if i ever post here again, my content filter will be flipped on.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I don't think Gozde is asking for or expecting anyones apologies about that thread...she invited it...and no one should be judged for what they posted there...

It was a little over the line for me, which is shocking, but I don't think anyone should feel bad about it either...

  63. Gozde-Much respect. You are absolutely right. You are never the bad guy, hon-remember-this is YOUR site! You have every right to moderate and play hall monitor, so to speak, if the "kids", or in this case, NB's (which I def can be myself ;), if needs be. It did get a bit much in there, and I agree with some of the comments. Proper decency and boundaries must be observed. Come on now-we're grown women here people!

    @Suz-WEll said.

@RPattz-Hey gal! You are so right. Well said also.

    @Fae and Sissi-Here here!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Goz, this site is great. you, kat and kate do a phenominal job. i may have crossed the line on that thread and i apologize. a little too much wine and a hot,hot man and i apparently go nuts. i respect Rob immensly and you guys for this site.

    ReplyDelete
  65. @Loisada-LOL! Goz in Indiana Jones gear would make her my girl crush for sure.........bahahahahahahahaha. Love that. LOL!

@RPattz-Read the rest of your comments. WELL PUT! You go gal. I'm with you 100%.

@Sarah-As one of the those who got in on it some, I have to say you're right. Again, SOME bounds of decency MUST be drawn. Gozde has every right too enforce that if she needs to also. Once more people-it is HER site! That said, once again, we're all adults here, and should keep a reign in on said comments. It's only right. Things can spiral out of control real fast, and this is an example of just that. Gozde saying "R" rated limits is well said.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I've been Robsessing for A WHILE and I'm definitely up for some fun and talking about what we love about Rob. He's the stuff of fantasies.

We all lust after him but we don't need to hear each others' sexual fantasies described in DETAIL to enjoy ourselves here - and if it destracts other peoples' enjoyment, or worse causes the bloggers trouble, than it's not worth it.

We may have developed our Robsession differently but we stay for the same reasons. The tone of grown up fun and the company here is pretty great.

    Thanks, Goz, Kate, and Kat!
    xoxo

  68. I didn't see the comments in the "free-for-all" post but uh...i know that people can go nuts (myself included) and that saturday night can be a little booze-fueled so everyone gets a tad more raunchy than the norm! i tend to be a lil' raunchy (or sometimes a lot) but i wouldn't post something over-the-top in the comments here because i know that your audience is very mixed, both age-wise and in people's tolerance for smut. i'll keep my smutty self contained over at my blog - lol!

you are awesome and a class act, Gozde, as usual. Klassy with a capital K!

    bravo! *claps*

    : )

now i'm going back to find more bafta rob coverage - wheee!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Thank you Gozde, Kate, and Kat for such an incredibly entertaining and informative site.

    *Waves to all the NB's.*

The controversial comments in the free-for-all thread would have been fine if we'd all been together having drinks at our favorite bar speaking quietly and freely to each other. Here, though, when what's printed can be and is seen and read around the world, restraint should exercised. Because we want to and we don't want to be disrespectful to Robert Pattinson. We're all on the same page with that thought and we're damned lucky to be here.

It'll still be fun, witty, and opinionated. What a great forum. Viva ROBsessed! The climate here is open and everyone is encouraged to join in.

Thanks again ladies for such an awesome site.

    FILTM!

    ReplyDelete
  70. The Details shoot made us do it!!! With nude pix posted right out in the open on our site......that made it seem like.........ok......go for it. d

The nekkidness of it all.............sent me over the edge for sure, and then the "free for all" permission made it even more open.

I'm glad you took the thread off cause I would have probably gone back and deleted my comments. Sometimes we think we are so protected here and can hide behind our fake names and avi's but it's not necessarily true. I canceled my twitter account cause when I googled my own name one time....... a lot of my twitter comments came up in the google listing for anyone to see .........didn't like that at all. And on facebook, I'm very careful of what is posted there cause too many people can read it.

We all have a dark side or just a side we need to release now and then and it was fun while it lasted and Rob with those nekkid women just stirred a lot of emotions. Sharing our feelings was very therapeutic for me and reading how others felt the same was also affirming.

The internet is like the wild wild west.......no rules or limits unless we impose them on ourselves. Putting limits on a site to make it more PG13 is a nice effort and worthy cause but it's like using a squirt gun on a forest fire.......there are plenty of other places kids can go and find much worse.

Sadly - even whitehouse.com is a porn site and you know innocent kids go there thinking they'll do research unknowingly - it's awful and impossible to totally shield kids from the smut online.

  71. Finally! Thank you for that. I love Rob and Robsessed, but every time I see cussing and overbearing mention of the name of Deity, I do cringe away. I respect others beliefs and religion, I expect others to do likewise. Sometimes, playfulness can do harm if it turns out to be perverseness...and yes, some people are offended. I do expect some class from people who likes Rob. And there are times I get disappointed.

  72. Good for you Goz, I'm sorry to hear that your attempt to be fair and open minded blew up.

  73. I have to admit that when I see posts that are just turning into porn, I stop looking at them. Not that I have anything against some good Rob porn, but other people's fantasties (especially if they're drunk) just don't interest me. I always try to keep in mind what Rob would think if he read what I posted. I wouldn't want him to be embarressed or uncomfortable by anything I said, just like I wouldn't want people posting things like that about me.

I like coming here for the discussions (OK, maybe not so much for the are they or aren't they? ones LOL), and I don't mind when people express their lust for Rob, but I would hate to see this blog turn into one big free for all. I really appreciate this blog & would miss coming here.

  74. I've said it before and I'm saying it again: this site is my happy place and I greatly appreciate all the hard work that Gozde, Kate, & Kat put into it.

    I respect Gozde's decision.

I also agree with a lot of the other comments on this thread. There will never be a way to please everyone. As adults we have to be responsible for ourselves and not try to blame or judge others.

We all suffer from the ROB-effect. The symptoms just manifest differently in different people.

Thanks again for this amazing site Gozde!

  75. I just read this post. First of all, thanks to Gozde, Kate and Kat, for all you do. Second, there were times that I cringed at what some people wrote and if I offended anyone with raunchy comments, I am sorry.

This blog is like home now, and I never want it to go away. So, I will do my best to not be the naughtiest NB.

Third, we all interpret comments differently, and I think it best to believe that all have the best intentions and know all are here because of Rob. We all love and respect him.

Fourth, I blame the Details shoot! =)

  78. Marna, this is a good rule to live by:
"I always try to keep in mind what Rob would think if he read what I posted. I wouldn't want him to be embarressed or uncomfortable by anything I said..."

I try and do the same.

This blog does promote all things Rob and I'm sure it doesn't go unnoticed.

  79. Goz, thankyou for this, and very importantly with respect for Rob.

  80. Does anyone else LOVE the gifs on this post - GAH!!!! Wet Robward and that flirt/smile from the Oscars?!?!!? C'mon - he knows what he's doing to us.

  81. i am guilty of posting the infamous moaning video i found on youtube. sorry if that was too much for other ladies out there. i figured because of it being on youtube and them allowing it, that it'd be okay. so again i apologize for fueling the fire with the robert grunts.

  82. I too didn't participate on that thread. I looked at the first several posts and thought...uh...no, I don't think so. Like alot of others around here, I can play in the gutter too. But we try (I think) not to do it so blatantly as was done on this thread (what I read of it). I've always said, I would not have a problem with Rob Pattinson reading a single word I've written about him on this blog, and I wouldn't. But things went a bit too far that night.

Thank you Gozde. I cannot imagine the work and the headaches that must go into running a blog such as this. Thank you so much for doing it. And to Kate and Kat as well.

Hopefully we can try to figure out some kind of happy medium. We don't want to be over run by church ladies, but we don't want the site turned into an X-rated place that we'd be be ashamed to have Rob see.

  83. Noe, doll, there was nothing wrong with that video at all....that's not what Gozde is referring too!

  85. Gozde,

It’s good to rein things in hard if the site is not representing what you want it to be. In the month or so I lurked, based some on post content but mostly by widespread comments (and not so much by a handful as by many), I literally had no clue it wasn’t an adult-oriented Rob appreciation site; it definitely seemed to be, and searching back through to find and delete the 10 or so posts I made outside of the Friday thread really reinforced that impression. I don’t envy the balancing act you’ve got on your hands, but I do hope you can have your site be what you want it to be. I’d never have knowingly disrespected that, and the only reason I’m posting to this thread is so you’ll know you don’t have to worry about future post content from me (not that I might not post again…but that if I do it will be well within the comfort zone you identified with this post). It’s no secret I adored much of the Friday thread and am probably the Offender-in-Chief, stricken down as I was by the Details Tourette’s and a fit of giggles. Several of us were wholeheartedly goading each other on for laughs, and God, did we ever laugh (love you ladies!).

But any one of us would give that boy a kidney if he needed it…hell, I’d even let him have one for TomStu.

Back to the BAFTAs now. Happy Robsessing!

  86. @hypovag - i guess i was under the same impression as you, esp after re-reading the DETAILS thread.

i have never posted here previously, and i guess i just did not really know the neighborhood properly. i should take more care to not piss off my neighbors.

to be respectful here, i think that the family silver and other "junk" would be better discussed elsewhere, like twitarded.

  87. Thanks for posting this Gozde...I love this blog. The people here are the only ones that understand my robsession. I love your posts they are always accurate and you, Kat, and Kate crack me up with your comments. RL sucks so I haven't been commenting as much lately but I love all you gals and you make me smile.

  89. I totally agree with you, Goz.
    And support you 100%.
This should be our "safe haven of Rob Goodness". Proper Crassness is a wonderv=ful motto.

  91. Dear Gozde, Kate, and Kat ♥

    I support this posting 100%.

There's a fine line between being entertaining and offensive and I'm SURE we all know where that is.

  92. Good for you. I appreciate your position and your stand. I would like to thank you for all your work on this site. It is my guilty pleasure, one of my favorite places to visit. I so love your wittisms.

  93. Thanks, Goz, for taking such care to keep respect top-most in our minds on this blog.

I did visit that no-holds-bared thread but, have to say, was shocked, even given your have-at-it go ahead.

If I read comments like some posted there about me, I would feel humiliated more than flattered.
As a woman who has experienced humiliation when men have lusted after me, men who have not cared about respecting me also, I know lust, when egged on by others, can easily slide into disrespect and it is a sad and sordid thing to behold.

I would not want Robert to ever feel humiliated; he deserves our respect. He has never shown any fan disrespect--that I'm aware of--and that is to his credit, because some fans must drive him nuts.

As usual, I'm probably one of the last to post here but I wave at all the sweet and sexy ladies here who celebrate the sweet and sexy Robert.

  94. @Noe - don't feel badly about the vid you mentioned. We all loved it when it was new and I'm sure we love it still. Wasn't Rob on an interview stating that he recommended an additional take with the moans himself?

  95. Wow Goz. I guess I missed what happened here. Had non idea and sorry it happened... I love this site and I feel that everyday I develop new blog friendships! We are all here for the same reason... To get our daily dosage of Rob and to share the nice obsession we all have! I applaud your decision and respect it. I don't want this site to ever go away! We are all adults here and can express freely and I agree with RPG... I do have a daughter and she is not allowed to read my blog... it's my own personal place where I can say things she never will hear me say at home... (sometimes naughty).. :) but there is a line of respect that non of us needs to cross. Sometimes people get carried away and you need to remind us all to not cross it!
    Happy Robsessing!!!

    1. To present or regard Rob Pattinson as an object: "Because we have objectified him, we are able to treat him impersonally."

I visited for the first time on Friday and caught a bit of the firestorm of smut. I was happy to see the entry regarding this issue. I realize it was meant in "fun" but really would any one speak of him that way to his mother??? It becomes difficult to do so when you think in those terms because its PERSONAL. He is a son, a brother, a nephew, a friend, and one day may be a husband and father. I too think he is blindingly handsome, charming, soulful, talented...but really as women we should be outraged at the objectification of anyone. Methinks we need a "STOP ROBJECTIFICATION" campaign!
Don't know who "Goz" is but "well done".

  97. Did some ppl forget that he was in a men's magazine with two naked women in it?..guess I'm the only one that remembers..and also I heard someone say something about it wasn't THAT thread it was others..really??..if it wasn't that thread than why was it deleted and NOT the others? So many fingers being pointed around here..I can't follow the threads period.

oh gosh thank you guys so much for making me feel better!! i was feeling really guilty after reading this post. i still think i could have handled myself in a more classy fashion. i just got hooked up with all the estrogen flowing around. yet as they say live and learn and practice the art of innuendo and only wittily apply things.

  99. Well said Gozde!

It's a pity that you had to do this, some people unfortunately did cross the line on that thread in a major way... Huge difference between fun, slightly risque, fantasies and some of the stuff that was emerging on Friday.

As I said then, that Details shoot pushed some over the edge...

  100. Dear Gozde Kat & Kate,
I was away for the weekend and although I could check up on the posts I couldn't comment, so I couldn't express my contrition as soon as I felt it.

I am so sorry to have caused you any anguish and hope that you will accept my unreserved apology. I have been misled in part by the nature of the comments at times, but I'm an adult, and so responsible for my own actions.

As moderators of this site you of course deserve our respect, and I forgot that in my postings, along with my senses of taste and decency. I am grateful to you for removing that thread, because I admit that I was also shocked by some of the other comments, even if it in no way mitigates my part in the general salaciousness.

While I agree that this site would lose some of its fun if it was 'Disneyfied' I do understand that you have a responsibility as the most comprehensive Robsite to cater to a wider audience than only those who would find more adult remarks tolerable.

You have my assurance that I will not allow myself to repeat my mistake.
